How are you now, joymercy? Did you get any help at the ER?

Gillian
Only some of the help...so much more to be done on outpatient treatment. Thanks so much for asking.

I have a prayer request for my neighbour whose shoulder is causing her pain. I've prayed with her twice. After the first time she soon felt better but then strained it a day later. Please would you pray that the shoulder heals and this opens the door to her hearing and accepting the gospel. Thank you. :)

I pray for your witness to your neighbour. For healing for her shoulder, and that she will encounter the love of God.

welp, its like a really huge tidal wave of change is a coming, like that old tune by bob dylan Sam Cooke.

as we get older, none of us like to have to go through these big changes, do we?

its rough for a lot of us folks.

I never thought I would have to face this day, but I am looking at needing to stop my pain medication that has helped me for at least ten years. Its causing me to have nerves that are no longer working in my colon, causing extreme pain, due to constant near total blocks which can cause complications and death.

I can only get my innervations back to my colon working again by going off the meds for pain, all the while the pain is relentless and slowly increasing over time.

I am going to consult with many specialists bc we need to bring many people together to figure this one out.

I have Dystonia and fibromyalgia, as well as myofascial syndrome and also severe to very severe arthritis in my cervical spine, that also causes a narrowing of my spinal canal compressing the major nerves causing them not to work episodically. so one day, i have no innervation at all in one arm or leg and it is literally paralyzed, until I can move my spine and neck around and get it back. otherwise, it hangs there limp.

the term for this is "dead leg" or dead arm.

the dead arms or legs is pretty scary, but one gets used to it. I literally cant feel anything it them when this happens. nor do they contract --they hang like wet noodles, useless limps just hanging there.

so I am going to have to try other stuff, like maybe nerve blocks or a brain implant to turn off the dystonia.

tens unit doesn't help.

ideas? what do you use for chronic severe pain, anyone?

us old timers have to share ideas

remember not to link to a site that sells products, but pm me instead.

Thank you for your nice comments about me joymercy (but I feel that they were underserved - if you really knew me! :D). It's musicalpilgrim, faithinlife and Tom (nChrist) who are the really faithful ones here. :)

I'm really sorry that you are suffering with these conditions :(. On the NHS website (it's not commercial so I thought it was okay to mention it here) one lady talked about the benefits of warm water. The only pain killers I can think of are the usual over the counter analgesics, which I expect you have tried and would probably find not to be strong enough. I hope the team of specialists you mention can come up with the right treatments for you and I will be praying for the Lord's guidance in this.

Are you linked to any support groups - online or in your area? I also hope that you have people in your life who can make living a bit easier for you. I'm joining in with musical pilgrim, faithinlife, Tom and no doubt others too in praying for you, joymercy. :groupray: I'll just say a prayer here:

Dear Lord we pray for Your will to be done in joymercy's life. We thank You for her membership of this group and, as her brothers and sisters in You, we ask You to relieve her suffering. Please take away the pain and fatigue and give her back the use of her limbs.

If You are responding to this prayer through medical practice then please give her the team of specialists which You want her to have and guide them to the right treatment for her. May she know Your love and presence with her always and that You never give us anything we cannot handle if we belong to Christ. Thank You dear Lord. Amen.

The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want....(because He provides all that we need as our good shepherd)

We need to lean on Him and to trust in Him...

May we learn to let go and let God more often, to alleviate the stress of trying to do it all ourselves!

My confession today is that I have been trying too hard to do it all myself and thereby making myself into God, which breaks the commandment to not have any other Gods.

I am not God!

Praying for continued healing and for ease of pain and that you'll be able to keep looking to Jesus.

My friends, please would you pray for a neighbour, John, who has lymphoma. I do not know if he and his wife are Christians. I've only seen them a few times as they are not immediate neighbours. Many thanks. :)
