Poll shows Biden viewed as too old to ‘effectively serve’ another term

Half the posters here don't equate a small kitchen fire to the loss of an entire town. Hardly coherent, especially when he started falling asleep while the actual fire victims were speaking.

I'm sorry, that doesn't make any sense.

Biden seemed to think it did when he compared the devastation in HI to a little smoke in his kitchen.

I wonder if the Democrats will find a way to tax Hawaii for their carbon emissions. They're wasting valuable time for collecting funds to pay those who profit from the Military Industrial Complex.
Speaking of carbon emissions, I heard that HI was the state furthest along in the goal to be 100% carbon-free. Too bad that effort didn't make their grid any safer, and may have been what sparked the fire.

Ha! And you say my argument is silly!
Just FYI, money can more than Howitzers. Building materials for new homes, new vehicles, medical costs, businesses, cleanup, etc.
Not everything is about blowing stuff up.

It's not $113 B in "money" that has been expended for Ukraine. The vast majority was transfer of equipment, much of it excess or "ready reserve" stockpiles of "just-in-case" equipment, like older versions of current equipment.

We might need that equipment to defend ourselves; as Biden draws us closer to WWII.

That's OK. I'm sure that the fat cats who profit from the Military Industrial Complex are wringing their hands on this prospect.

Gotta make sure that the rich keep getting richer.

How many Howitzers does HI need?

Turns out they aren't all that useful in fighting volcano hazards:

[From the USGS:] On November 21, 1935, an eruption began in Mauna Loa's summit caldera and quickly migrated down its Northeast Rift Zone. On November 27, another vent erupted on the volcano's north flank, well outside the rift zone, sending flows of pāhoehoe lava (smooth, billowy, or ropey) into the saddle area between Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea. Lava flows then turned east toward Hilo, advancing a mile per day, which alarmed residents. In an attempt to divert the flows, then Lieutenant Colonel George S. Patton (later a famed general in World War II) was called on to oversee a U.S. Army operation, suggested by HVO's Thomas Jaggar and Ruy Finch, in which military planes dropped bombs near the eruptive vent on December 27. Jaggar thought the operation was a success, but because the eruption ended just 6 days later, the efficacy of disrupting lava channels with bombs or other explosives remains disputed.

It's not cited as a reason because those doing those payments (biden's people) have no desire for anyone to know it. Just do it and keep quiet about it while keeping everyone more focused on indictments. Oh, and "climate change".
Thanks for reminding me why I stopped putting effort into replies.

You're very welcome! I imagine your reason is the same as mine. Glad we can end on a note we both agree on.

Like F-16s? Sure, who needs those anymore? We can afford to just fly F-35s around at a cost of $42,000 per hour: 42,000 $ per flight hour for the F-35: operating costs are not improving.

The US isn't providing any F-16s. (We are providing training and granting re-export permission to the nations that are.) (In related news, the 200 Ukrainian tankers that have been training on the M1 Abrams tank have just finished their training so those surplus tanks should be transfered to the ZSU shortly.)

Right. Not U.S. F-16s. Just F-16s that were built in the U.S. by an American manufacturer with American labor, then sold to another country to be given to Ukraine to be flown by pilots trained in America.
I'm sure Putin will let that slide--just as he will forgive us for providing the drones that are currently being used to attack Moscow. No different when American-build F-16s flown by pilots trained in America start bombing the Kremlin. Putin is a patient and forgiving guy (with nukes).

Putin started it all. Should we cower to him?

First, the "Putin started it" justification is hardly constructive.
Second, who is "we"? We (America?) weren't at war with Russia until biden began involving us in an increasing number of ways.

We are not at war with Russia. We are supplying, along with other countries, equipment and arms against an aggressor who invaded Ukraine .

That's what a proxy war is.

Putin is an empty gas bag. He has rattled the "nuclear sword" over and over again. It is a sound without meaning. He's not dumb enough to use nuclear weapons.

Putiin does not want to engage with NATO. He wants to carve off pieces of Ukraine for himself. He is skirting engagement with NATO but it is futile. Give Ukraine what they need to stave off Russian advancement.

Not dumb enough? Careful, or someone might call out your argument for being that of a "Putin apologist".

Just as a cornered animal will fight back, a man with nothing left to lose will use whatever is at his disposal--dumb or not.
