To the extent that public opinion surveys can be accurate in Putin's Russia (OK, frankly any Russia of the past either), the ordinary people of Russia support the war and its aims.

There also just really weren't any attacks of number inside Russia until quite recently, and even those recent attacks are clearly aimed primarily at military installations and government buildings. Ukraine has damaged or destroyed about a dozen or so military aircraft sitting on tarmacs inside Russia proper (not the occupied territories) in the last month or so. When was the last time Russia destroyed a Ukrainian plane on the ground, Feb 2022?

He has been an effective leader. I would prefer a vigorous primary process because we cannot predict how his mid-80's will be.
Early Alzheimers president Reagan gave us the Iran-Contra scandal, but we got off easy.
Nevertheless, I cannot picture a Republican candidate i could support, and i would prefer Biden to each one.

Let's not forget that the candidate who is 77 is the one who says, "I alone can solve your problems."
He is a considerably more collaborative leader, learned from years in Congress. He has chosen a strong Cabinet and listens to the experts.
The 77 year-old candidate bullied the Fed as president, insisting interest rates should stay at zero---when tinkering a little earlier might have been positive for inflation.
Biden tells the Fed they are the experts.
His ego profile is lower so his age Is less of an issue.

FYI, an IL-76 is a Russian military transport aircraft. Earlier this week Ukrainian drones struck a Russian airbase near Pskov and damaged two of them and burned two more to the ground in a single attack.

If you want to invoke pity for the "little guys" of Russia it would help if you could document some Ukrainian attacks on civilians. Keep in mind that civilians often suffer from "collateral damage" due to weapons malfunctions, etc.
