They may not have succeeded in taking over a federal building but they tried

It was the occupation that was claimed in the post I was responding to. (A post that thought that one example of federal enganglement voided an "almost none" claim on my part.)

The Mark O. Hatfield United States Courthouse is a federal courthouse in Portland, Oregon. It is named in honor of former U.S. Senator Mark O. Hatfield.[2] It is used by the United States District Court for the District of Oregon.

"Portland protesters barricaded federal officers inside a courthouse — and tried to set the building on fire — as the two groups clashed again Tuesday night into Wednesday.

As hundreds chanted “Black lives matter” and “Feds go home,” a team of protesters propped several wooden beams and sandbags against a door to the Mark O. Hatfield Courthouse, according to tweets from Clypian, an online news outlet run by South Salem High School students."

"The Portland [Federal] Courthouse was "commandeered" by protesters" talk about total falsehood. (They attacked it many nights in a row, but they never had control of it.

My problem with your claim is not the courthouse. It is with your claim of commendeer. No such thing happened.

News reports disagree with you: If law enforcement "surrenders" a territory, then it has been "commandeered" by miscreants.

Meaning of Commandeer: To take arbitrarily or by force:

"It is now the federal agents who appear under siege, reduced to defending the courthouse from attempts to break in or set it on fire. In a visible surrender of ground, the DHS taskforce has even abandoned bothering to re-erect a fence around the federal building torn down on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, the protesters range free over several city blocks where businesses were first shut down by coronavirus and then boarded up after some shops were smashed in the initial protests that swept the country following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis in May after a police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes.

The ubiquitous graffiti on stores, the county jail and the courthouse – including portraits of Floyd and violent denunciations of the police – mark out the protesters’ territory."

Does that matter if people are literally held hostage inside by the crowds? No, it does not. But that said, yes, some tried to enter, according to on the ground reports.

"Footage showed the rioters attempting to force their way into the courthouse while chanting “f*** the United States!” Later in the evening rioters set a fire outside the courthouse entrance."

"Federal police from the Department of Homeland Security clashed with rioters and attempted to force them away from the building."

This is dumb. I really mean that. When I first tried countering the "what about BLM riots" nonsense distraction, I was careful to state that those events were mostly not involving federal places. But, (and its really dumb), even that business about charging for Jan 6th HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TOPIC OF THIS THREAD. (Read the title and the OP and see if anything you've said for days has a single things to do with it.)

Whataboutism is inherently dishonest. This attempt at derailing the thread is a great example.

Well the actual thread topic is sorta lame…
Might as well get on one of our favorite hobby-horses and get a few laps in?

“New Lawyer in White Hoise” is as bland a “news story” as we can get but it’s still being used to gin up anger.
It’s not that this is the usual White House goings-on, nah, it’s really about bringing in big muscle to defend against all the scandals that are about to break, any day now, just you watch!

And we’re only 4 pages in, huh.

The material gets kind of thin when you start 10-20 threads a week about how the Biden administration is failing/corrupt/incompetent/whatever.

It'd died after 12 hours if it wasn't being driven off topic.

The difference being that the “Left” actually waited a couple of years until they got actual evidence of grave misconduct while the Right blithely filed on the very first day.
Biden won an election against Dear Leader. That's sure high crimes and misdemeanors from the republican POV.
