CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I’ve read the Bible. I’ve even done Bible study before my deconversion. I Occasionally read it for reference now. But I’d rather know the Divine directly rather than reading about the Divine.

Do you believe Christ is in every person and all they have to do is tap into the Christ? For example: Do you believe Hitler had Christ in him and all He had to do was tap into the Christ consciousness?

If so, I do not believe this is the truth.
The Lord only abides in those who obey Him (See: 1 John 2:3-4).

Either you are no longer yourself, or you are still yourself with your emotions, thoughts and powers to contemplate eternity doing...... what? You haven't thought about it. Try thinking what eternity as yourself would be like. Consider that part of the joy of anything is knowing that it is a temporary state and will come to an end. An eternity of anything is a truly horrific thought.

Well since there is no empirical evidence that life can be generated from non life or that nothing can become something reality would require acceptance of the existence of God.

Did you? Where is your evidence that there is no empirical evidence for God? There is historical data that the Gospel is accurate. There is also empirical evidence that confirms intelligent design and that the universe had a beginning. Since it had a beginning it therefore had a cause and that cause had to be uncaused at some point in regression.

The real Jesus who lived on the Earth and died for us and was raised again from death--not just a character in a storybook whose existence we are forced to acknowledge because the storybook is supposed to have magical properties. I believe in Jesus, not the Bible.
