Just like recently where protected speech can be shut down or censored by simply calling it misinformation according to the standards of the internet lords while the surveillance state is expanded.

Yet NY and Vegas as examples, never shut down their advertising lightshows on the streets while the streets have been empty lately. Billions could have been saved incosts let alone the resources needed to power them.

Just think of all of the waste of USO-shows back during WWII, all of that equipment and moving people around, they could’ve filmed one SPECTACULAR Show!!!, in GLORIOUS TEcHNICOLOR and cut it up into eight different versions, but no, they schlepped everyone and everything all over the World, so WASTEFUL!

Some things are more important than “expediency and efficiency”; they’re got cameras all along there, in Time Square, maybe they should just “turn them off”, then whether the lights are on or not, no-one will know?

Some options to assess

Reflection: Long distance jet flights change to high sulfur fuel for the high altitude portion of the flight. The jet contrails will then be a very fine long lasting white that will soon spread evenly across the sky. The reflection will mean less heat will reach the Earth.

Cost: about zero
Time: Needs some more work to get the particle sizes right and to fully test it and see if it works as expected.

Zero cost?

Only if we're ignoring acid rain and higher preterm birth rates.

If you want to needlessly keep every light in your house on, then do so. It's publicly obvious that businesses (who complain about the economic effects of the pandemic) don't bother saving energy during the shutdown so why should we..

- This warming also comes with a lot of fun toxins that wreak havoc upon mankind.

- Just reducing or even eliminating our output may not be enough, it would take hundreds of years even if we reached 0 output today to correct.

- eventually the earth will warm and become inhospitable to humans regardless of artifical causes. Combined with the above point, looking for greater ways to change our environment may be warranted.

Just the direct human cost of air pollution is worth reducing our combustion alone.

COPD which causes respiratory failure not unlike covid-19, is a major killer, more so than flu or other diseases. COPD is the fourth largest cause of death in China and leads in much of Asia.

COPD is the third largest cause of death by disease in the US.

And its causes are nearly 100% man made.

Then there's the early data showing lifetime atmospheric NOx exposure is related to worse covid-19 outcomes.

Stop burning fuels! It is killing us

Climate change is a scam for making a tiny group of elites very rich and very powerful. All at the expense of the plebs.

This makes me laugh when an oil baron earns in a day what a climate scientist earns in a year.

Is Global Warming happening?

It is right to doubt a proposal of this nature before reshaping the entire economy
- though now it's beginning to look like it needs to be reshaped anyway.

'What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence'.

And there were real questions about the global temperature measurements:
1. Many weather stations in past were just outside urban areas but had been encroached upon and now had 'heat island' effects to some extent.
2. Originally weather stations were painted with whitewash having a calcium carbonate pigment but progressively this paint was replaced by titanium dioxide pigmented latex paint.

If global warming is happening, there is nothing to worry about as it has been happening since day one. I have seen a chart of global warming covering 150 years and it was very clear it goes in approximately 50 year cycles.

What is happening now isn't necessarily what is going to happen in 10 years time. All the money being spent to try and stop global warming is a waste of money as you cannot tell mother nature what it can and cannot do.

I have read enough articles about global warming to work out it is the province of the religion of global warming warriors who themselves do not believe what they say.

A classic example of this is a global warming warrior in Australia who said that in ten years we will be under water. So what was his response. He went out and bought a house on the shores of Sydney harbour.

Another example is the high priest of the religion who produced the film " An Inconvenient Truth", Al Gore. There were two inconvenient truths he forgot about. He uses more electricity in his house in month than the average American uses in a year. And the other one is he regularly flies around the world in a gas guzzling jet that belches out CO2.

Those who are over the moon about renewables do not look at the total picture. To produce a wind farm takes I don't know how much concrete and that concrete has to be produced and the production of it produces copies amounts of CO2 because of the amount of electricity used in producing it, more than the amount of energy it uses to reduce the amount of CO2 used.

And I do not have much time for these climate warriors until they accept that the quickest way to reduce CO2 emissions is to go nuclear which is totally safe as there are over 400 of the mini reactors already operating around the world.

Human-caused global warming has the status of well-established fact, by any reasonable measure.

But a statement like that is very vague. it is like saying humans drive cars. That is an established fact, BUT it means nothing unless there is some point to what you say.

Global warming is REALLY serious, but so is bad city design, inefficient individualistic car based culture, loneliness and depression from bad city design, the squandering of rare materials, overpopulation, lack of education in poorer countries, and a million other things. Fortunately (as well as our spiritual growth as Christians) I think there are roughly 8 major shapes to a successful future, and then once we survive climate change I'm sure we'll eventually climb into space and then almost anything goes! But before we go getting all "The Expanse", we've got to survive Climate Change. How? 8 R's below.

We need to:–
REFUEL on today’s safe GenIII reactors as we perfect new GenIV breeder nuclear reactors that eat nuclear ‘waste’. Just today’s nuclear waste could run the world for centuries. Nuclear waste is not the problem, it is the solution. Nuclear power MUST form the reliable baseload power that modern grids need, and then we can see how much wind and solar is also added to the mix. You may not agree right now — but look at the many environmental professors who have signed the EcoModernist Manifesto!

REZONE our cities around New Urbanism which I describe as “An attractive and culturally appropriate town square surrounded by walking distance shops and services and neighbourhoods.” They are places of economic and social vitality, and are just pleasant to visit. New Urban ecocites must of course have a strong backbone of RAIL, using trains, trams, and trolley buses as appropriate.

RECHARGE our cars instead of burn oil. About three-quarters of existing cars could be charged on existing grids if the power plants were turned up full, and nukes are most economic running at full power day and night. There are a variety of options for a post-oil world including Electric Vehicles, synthetic diesel from seawater, and even a recyclable metal powder called boron that can be burned for fuel!

RECYCLE all our waste using Plasma Burners that rip waste apart and sort it at the molecular level. We can get rid of rubbish tips forever, and turn household waste into many of the materials necessary to build the next house or car or boat!

REINVENT industry to run on mostly renewable materials. We need to reinvent processes so they use clean, recyclable materials. Governments should encourage Green Chemistry, Nano-technology, and even lower technology solutions like building Skyscrapers out of wood!

RESTORE FOOD SYSTEMS to feed a world of 10 billion people while saving our oceans and fixing the soil.

REPAIR ecosystems so that nature will continue to give us ‘Ecosystem services’. Nature gives us free services that increase our health and wealth. Without them we would have to pay for all our fresh water, soil, clean air, certain waste processing, etc. But we can repair ecosystems by making more national and private parks, keeping threatened animals in zoos and breeding centres, and gradually replanting and restocking the wild.

REDUCE population growth by meeting all human needs, especially by empowering and educating women! Empowering women in developing countries not only helps them and their families achieve their potential, it helps those families not see children as some form of superannuation. Studies have proved it prevents population growth, and can stabilise the population.
