Hearsay? Who wrote the Law?
Are you asking me who wrote the book of the Law of Moses? - lol

I said Jesus "treated the law as hearsay." Which he did in Matthew chapter five.
There are five "You have heard that it was said... But I tell you..." statements. (hearsay)

He didn't cite it to the law, but rather as hearsay. Very interesting. He was deconstructing the law as he went. Putting it aside piece by piece. Is this news to you?

What is your explanation for why Jesus said it that way? Do you believe he was promoting the law by not giving it a proper citation?

Isn't it obvious that his teachings were against "the law"?
Like saying, the law says this, but I say... (offering a contrasting directive)
How does that support the law?

It is not hearsay...he did cite the law just made it actually stricter...He NEVER taught against the law! He was interpreting it on a higher level!

That is a contradictory statement.
If Jesus teaching was on a higher level, then the law was put on a lower level. Thus the law was demoted, not elevated.

Was Jesus confirming, or replacing the law in this statement? (for or against) ???

Matthew 5:38-42
You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. 42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

You are wrong...He is saying to go the extra mile in compensatory damages...He is doing EXACTLY what I said.

Yeshua said: Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Question: How do you fulfill "the Prophets"?
Answer: The same way you fulfill the Law and the Psalms.

Luke 24:44-45
He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” 45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.

Explain how that is not a replacement for the law. (thus setting the law aside)

Are you keeping the Law of Moses even down to the very least of its 600+ commands (observing every jot and tittle of the Mosaic Law), and are you teaching others that they must keep all 600+ commands of the Mosaic Law?

How is it a replacement? What is He replacing?
By using the term, "But I tell you...", he is OBVIOUSLY offering an alternative to the law, thus replacing it. No response needed.

Which of the commandments is "the least of these commandments"?

That is a silly question. Do you understand why? It just shows your ignorance of the subject...

No. It is as I have said. It is a greater understanding of the law...

Why is it silly?
You are the one who trumpeted the scriptural mandate, I’m merely asking if you personally uphold it and therefore will be called greatest, Or are you going To be called least in the kingdom for not doing and teaching every jot and tittle of the law?

Indeed I may be ignorant of a 3rd option? Is there one?

It is silly because NO ONE can, not even Yeshua. But likely you still don't understand...

So explain the admonition.
What do you assert it means, if not what it says?

The claim is that the Law would be in place and must be "followed, every Jot and tittle" until Heaven and earth passed away.

If your claim is that the Law has in fact passed, and in fact can not be followed every jot and tittle, then Heaven and earth must have passed as well.

And since the material Cosmos are still intact, the particular Heaven and earth mentioned here must refer to something else....

Do you know what that might be?

It's mentioned as being established, created and planted in Isaiah 51:16

Every post you show your ignorance more and more...

But that is NOT what it says...that is what YOU say it says. YOU are claiming these things, not scripture...

Here's' what the scripture says:

17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Pretty Straight Forward.
Nothing I have stated is counter to what is written here. And you can't show otherwise.
I agree with it as written.
Do you?

If you do, please tell us which you are doing in your life?
Breaking the least of the 600+ commands (Jots & Tittles) of the Law, or practicing, upholding and teaching them?

Every post you show your ignorance more and more...

Any every post you show.... well... nothing.
But, ever the optimist, I'll continue to hold out hope that you'll elaborate your position for us.

Go back and look at what you stated and you can CLEARLY see it is NOT the same as what the scripture says and is CLEARLY counter to the scripture you just quoted...the other problem you have is that it is very evident that you CLEARLY do not understand the law...

YOU wrote: Are you keeping the Law of Moses even down to the very least of its 600+ commands (observing every jot and tittle of the Mosaic Law), and are you teaching others that they must keep all 600+ commands of the Mosaic Law?

Well, are you or aren't you?

Its a simple question that should be simple to answer without having to employ such gymnastics.

19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Which one of these types of people Jesus is describing are you?

Maybe you believe there is a 3rd option?
