Alot of people are clowning the OP and having fun making jokes while America moves farther away from honoring God
America moved far away from God when evangelicals sold out to Donald J. Trump.

Where is “honoring God” in our Constitution?

It's not and for good reason because the government should never dictate theology; that's his [our] conviction speaking and protected by the Constitution.

This is the time that the church in the USA needs to get real with God, repent, fast and pray. If Christians do this, God will intervene. That's His promise.

I think it's time for the church to finally come out of the world, and gird our loins for the tribulation. :eek:

Which Christians have been waiting for for almost 2000 years.

Odd that it's always "just about to happen", but never does.

I've always thought 'girding your loins' sounded like a fairly painful process which could result in infertility. :(

I could make a joke about american beers here. I won't. But I could.

Please. American mass market beers. There are some very nice micro brews.

Of course the mass market stuff has ruined the generic American ability to know good from bad. Here Heinkein is considered good stuff. I can't say what Aussies call it. Well I could but I don't want points toward a ban.

Trump has transformed the Republican Party into the TWERP's, The Trump, W(you fill in), Evangelical, Republican Party.

This is a legitimate party, every bit as much as the other populist parties in the world. It is much more transparent than most. 18 states and over 100 Congressmen favored abolishing the election. Literally thousands of crooks were put in positions of power. Trump has collected over $200M since the election for his personal leadership PAC. He controls the former Republican Party. Few can win without his base.
==========
THE WORST EVER?
Hardly! I remember 1969. History shows us much worse times.
===========
WHERE WE ARE
Presuming that the Republicans hold one seat in the Senate, very little legislation will be passed. This will be up to McConnell. He has a real choice. He can blackmail into deal that favor his personal agenda and that of the few in the Senate who might follow his lead. Or, he can simply follow Trump's orders for 4 more years. This is McConnell's last hurrah. He has an opportunity. At very least, several bills will be passed every year to keep the government running and to increase the debt limit. he can get his pound of flesh then.
============
THE NEXT FOUR YEARS
Much can and will be done by Biden without the Congress. Obama and Trump have been models for increases in presidential power. If McConnel chooses, all the cabinet members will be Acting, as many were under Trump. No judges will be approved.
==============
MOST IMPORTANT
The republic has survived. Many Republican state governors and other leaders have rejected Trump's attempting to sabotage the results. Republican appointed judges has uniformly chose the rule of law and the Constitution over Trumpism. The Supreme Court and the appellate courts have laughed at Trump's law suits.
============
The next 3 decades are likely to be a move back to more control by the states, many of which are as large as many countries. A Conservative Party could win nationally, but that can't happen for at least a decade, so thorough has been the scourge of Trumpism.

And in the end, I am OK with power coming back to the states, AS LONG AS, the federal government protects the rights of the people, especially voting rights. In the end, if the people of Idaho refuse to pay for many services for the poor, that is their choice. But, I am greatly impressed with the robustness of the system, especially the example in Georgia, where specialists in voter suppression decided that Trumpism was just to much to accept. The Republican state government stood firm against Trump.

Do you think the couch commandos prefer micro brewed craft beer or budweiser?

ONly if you pull it too tight. (It is literally the process of tying up ones robe in such a fashion to do heavy labor, or battle.)

I’m sure that it was also idiom even back in those times for “make defensive preparations”, in a general sense.

The church is victorious, has access to the greatest power that there can be, the greatest authority and the greatest wisdom. All that is found in Christ. Coming out of the world one part of the answer. Abiding in Christ is the other.

America moved far away from God when evangelicals sold out to Donald J. Trump.

No they didn't.

The issue with Trump has always been, what matters more in a president? Policy, or personality? Trump had very positive policy, appointed good justices who would rule according to law on the bench, supported religious freedom, took us away from the globalisation we were blindly walking into, got us out of wars we should never have had any part in, fostered peace, established better trade agreements like reworking NAFTA (that no one liked but the elite), stop taking all that China was dishing out, which was quite frankly hurting us.

His policy was better than any president since Reagan.

You don't have to agree, but most of us think that when judging the actions of someone in government we should be basing that judgement according to what policies they will bring rather than whether they wear a pretty face.

I'm personally sick of pretty faces carrying out bad policy... at best that's a highly superficial means to choose leaders, and that eye to only what is superficial will destroy us eventually.

Tribulations are always happening, so it's best to prepare in case this one is 'the big one'. :eek:

Like Mr Trump’s infamous “in two weeks” or “Wednesday”.
