I think it's wrong of anyone here to come with explanations about why a person is gay. It's not our given right to do so, and we do NOT know. Science doesn't know, and the bible doesn't say. If we want to know we can ask a gay person, that is the best way of knowing why.

May God lead us all, we are all sinners, in need of his mercy. Blessings and love through Jesus Christ!

I am only talking about his particular case, perhaps there some like him as well, but, I'm not trying to say everybody or every case, but some...

I just wanted to help him and offer some perspective, not my intent to judge, only help, did not say anything at all about his going to heaven or not, but I don't know if you meant me by that?

i struggled with a similar issue,only i never acted on those impulses,thank God i had people praying for me or my story would have been different....do you know why God asks all the male Israelites to circumcise even though they are camped right outside the enemy stronghold(Jericho)circumcision meant cutting off the flesh,we as Christians after getting delivered are to circumcise our flesh,not be controlled by the flesh.ill give you a practical example go on a fast see how badly your body asks for food,but your spirit stands strong and says NO! you shall not eat.Jesus has given you the authority to stand strong against this sin.put on Gods Armour fight this stronghold(in your case Jericho) in the spirit.He will without doubt give you victory if only you believe.refuse to live with it one day longer than necesarry

I am not the expert but ephesians 2 comes to mind regarding this situation.

If you have gay thoughts or lustful desires they are. NOt of God. It is perpetuated by the prince of the power of the air. If youvee been molested or trespassed against you need to forgive the trespasser what they did was wrong but it doesnt mean you have become gay like them.

Jesus defeated the enemy by his blood. Dont think Jesus wasnt abused and harassed sexually by the roman males They stripped him naked and laughed at him.he didnt fight back...he didnt say a word.

To the pure all things are pure. I believe the only evil you can see in others is the ones you have in yourself. This is why Jesus told the Adulteress, Neither do I condemn thee....Also the woman with 5 men....he didnt condemn....he offered the way of life to her and the last man she was with!

And Judging good and evil has very negative consequences for the Judger. The fruit was very tasty, But I've decided to stop eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Im back to walking around naked and not ashamed! Good motivation to get back in the gym as well...get those 10k steps a day...but I digress.

I would encourage you to look more into salvation......One that it more polished and finished....one that cant be given and taken away by the will of man. The truth that Set you Free. And, more importantly, one with a reward that you can receive and verify now......Waiting till after death doesn't sound good to me....there is no repentance in the grave.... There is a lot of disinformation on this thread. First there is no such thing as "being gay." That is the propaganda of the world and from the world that is clearly not found in the bible, anywhere. I am shocked that so many professing Christians can entertain such nonsense. The bible speaks only of culpable indulgence in perverse acts, albeit Roms 1 describes the descent of the mind into impurity brought about by the worship of idols.

Such a habitually impure mind is symptomatic of the rule of sin. Many people who are in this state are guilty and even tormented by what passes through their mind, knowing it is wrong.

Such people can of course be saved, as well as those who have abandoned themselves to what their minds desire, but this is usually more difficult, except in the young, as they have passed that stage of self-acknowledgement of rational guilt to commit ever greater sins.

The way to salvation for everyone is the same: faith, obedience, daily repentance, adoption of the Christian lifestyle that says no to idolatry, the casting off of the false wisdom of the world for the true wisdom of Christ. The demons will give up and go away eventually.

But lying and stealing are also sins and no one treats them the same as homosexuality. If someone decides to break in and enter someone's house.... They could easily and most often leads to murder.

I struggle with the same problem, Ive had my homosexual desires since I can remember but I dont seek out the life style but I still find myself thinking of other men. When I read of men in the same position and Christian its a daily struggle that keeps going even as a Christian and some even force themselves into straight marriages. I just want it gone and thought when Christian it would be taken away. Ive talked to some pastors and they said I was possessed by a spirit and needed to be prayed on to release it, but he couldnt do it. Why? I dont want anyone to grow in their distances from reaching and keeping their path with God. Theres just soo much happening to me at the moment and this problem is mixed in with it. I cant stop but I want it gone..simple as that.

Man...when I tell you I'm here for you. I'm here for you. We all have out own cross to bear and were all struggling in some way or another. All you can do is keep going and keep resisting... Though I'm not attracted to th4 same sex, I'm a 25 year old girl...never been in a relationship and its hard to remain celibate when relationships are in your face, in tv and magazines .... You feel like the odd man out..alot of times I just wanted quick sex...but I turned it down because that's not all I want to be. Have a fellow christian sister whos daughter is following the gay lifestyle, it breaks her heart that shes far away from God. She grew up christian but decided to turn away...ended up in a messy gay relationship, which has now ended. Her mother prays for her everyday to repent.

OP where are your parents in this. DO you know God as your heavenly Father? Ask God to give you a new heart, you cant cleanse it yourself. Exchange it for Jesus.

You've really got to be saying that in jest, right? God says that He will be found by those who diligently seek Him. Listen, I have no idea what kind of christians you've been hanging out with and I know that category covers a lot of gradients of faith, but anyone who is born again, never let's go of God. Pretenders will and they might as well because Jesus has already made it clear to them in Matthews account of his teachings that on the day his Father's judgment, Jesus is going to cast all of those 'christians' out anyway. Born again believers in the one true and living God, those who are indwelled with the Holy Spirit and, therefore, have the right to be called children of God see things just as Peter did. When Jesus asked the disciples if they wanted to turn away because of some difficult teachings that were causing others to turn away, Peter replied, "Lord, where else would we go? You have the only words of truth."

Those 'christians' who are not born again, well they just see christianity as another religion of the world. They might turn to atheism or buddhism or hinduism or zorastrianism because they're usually just trying to find a 'religion' that fits their lifestyle and their beliefs. Something that is easy to swallow and doesn't require a lot of sacrifice.

I've got to say, though, I've been a born again believer for over 20 years and I've never heard another born again believer deny the truth of what God's word says. Hope you don't take that too hard, but I read your post and I actually had to get my wife to come and get my jaw up off the floor. I couldn't reach it myself.

To be blunt, I find that ignorant and deeply insulting to people who have honestly searched. What this tells me is that you cannot fathom an honest search that comes up short. You have an erroneous belief that people who seek god find him but to hold to this you have to exclude anyone who 'diligently searched' and yet failed to find god, and claim they're not true Christians, or pretenders. Say someone likes eating junk food, then decide to eliminate it from their diet after learning what's in it and the harmful things it could do. Would they suddenly "not have eaten the right junk food"? Or someone who becomes a vegetarian was never really a meat-eater?

There's testimonies out there of those who were strong in the faith once, and I'm sure you could find more if you looked.

My parents are aware of my struggles. They are Christian as well. They taught me what scripture says about sexuality.

But I am on my own. So they are barely around.

Everyone goes through struggles. My sins are no "better" or "worse" than your sins are. Don't sit in harsh judgment of yourself. Know that you are loved. Jesus is merciful and kind. He loves you. Hang onto that. The most important thing is knowing who you are in Christ. Not male, female, hetero, homo, whatever, none of that matters. You are YOU. There is only one you. God loves YOU.

Draw closer to God?

This going to take some effort on my part. I love watching TV for hours. But I know I need to turn it off. I just love escaping reality. When I am watching shows or movies I forget my problems.

The point is, I know I am going to have to turn it off to spend time with God.
