Not all of them, no but about 40 million people from Latin America with black, African ancestry would probably disagree with you that they aren’t black or Latino or that it has to be one or the other.
According to research by 23andMe, a substantial number of Hispanics have some African ancestry.
The question asked to her is essentially, "why should Latinos concern themselves with issues that affect black people?" And her answer is that it's because there are black Latinos and those same issues that affect black Americans because of their race can just as easily affect black people from Latin American countries, or from any country for that matter.Golden, if someone claimed that a Republican's position on immigration was racist because it primarily discriminates against Latinos in favor of whites, and the reply was....
"Latinos are white, I think you're forgetting how diverse they are."
Would you be defending that statement because a minority of Latinos are in fact white? Or is that just deliberately sidestepping a racial question by equivocating 2 groups of people?

This guy^ is Afro-Latino.
If he weren't a successful baseball player, or even in spite of it, he could easily be targeted by some racist simply for being black, regardless of the fact he's Latino. It's his black skin that's the issue to some. BLM, whatever feelings you may have about the organization or how valid their arguments are, is considered primarily a black issue. Her point is that there are black Latinos and the issues that affect black Americans can just as easily affect the Afro-Latino community and that there's reason for them to get involved in it.
I don't get what is so hard to follow here or why this is controversial in any way. That's probably also why the media isn't covering this non-issue.
Ah, then the issue isn’t that her answer (there are black Latinos) was incorrect but that she didn’t directly answer the question as it was asked. I can agree with that. She did sort of avoid the question about how to fix racism but Ana’s point of contention seemed to be centered around this idea that Latinos aren’t black which is as silly as saying North Americans aren’t black.the actual question was
“What do you think the Latinx community should do to stop racism among them and among other races?”
Instead of answering the question by telling the questioner what the Latinx community should do to stop racism among Latinx and among other races she makes a bone headed statement which seems to be implying that Latinx don't have to do anything to stop racism among them and among other races because they are black.

And we’re back to my point about the second line being ignored. “We run an entire racial spectrum.”Her answer was not "there are black latinos". It was "Latinos are black!" .
And we’re back to my point about the second line being ignored. “We run an entire racial spectrum.”
No it wouldn’t because they asked her specifically about BLM. If the question was centered around an issue concerning white Latinos you’d have a point. She definitely could have worded it better but factually, she’s not wrong, otherwise I couldn’t have pointed out several famous black Latinos.I won't ignore the second line if you don't ignore her first sentence or rewrite it. Her answer is complete gibberish. Let us consider that entire second line and the fact that she is contradicting her first sentence not clarifying it. "We are Afro-Latina, and we run an entire racial spectrum,” Her second line simultaneously affirms and refutes her initial claim. Why did she not not say Latinos are White! we are Euro-Latina and we run an entire racial spectrum. Would have made exactly as much sense as an answer to the question as what she did say.
Well, since the Democrata are bandying the word 'reparations' around my guess is she is reserving a place in line......It's nonsense to actually claim Latinos are Black though. I think she's desperate to jump on the victimhood train. Thoughts?
Hilarious. Err on the side of rational.

No, but tell meHere's a statement from me:
"We Americans are black, white, asian, latinx, Republican, Democrat, Liberal and a whole host of other identities!"
Do you think I just said "I am Asian"?
Simple yes or no will suffice (but I know you'll dodge, otherwise I'd assume someone else had taken over your account!)
Factually she is wrong by saying Latinos are black!
Had she said some Latinos are black she would have been factually correct
No but tell me
"Americans are Black."
Do you think I just said "we Americans are Black, White, Asian Latinx, Republican, Democrat, Liberal and a whole host of other identities? "
Did she ever say all Latinos are black? If not then we’re both operating off conjecture here in assuming what she actually meant. I could take the line “we are Afro Latina”... does that mean she thinks all Latin Americans are women? The questioner did not ask about BLM the questioner asked about racism among Latinx and other races . AOC is the one that brought up BLM . Factually she is wrong by saying Latinos are black! Had she said some Latinos are black she would have been factually correct but just as when one says Black Lives Matter one expects that to mean ALL Black Lives Matter. When one says Latinos are black one expects it means All Latinos are Black and when one says We are Afro-Latina one expects it means All of us i.e. WE are Afro -Latina. Factually she is wrong by saying We are Afro-Latina. Factually she is correct in stating that Latinx have all sorts of different racial ancestry but that is totally irrelevant to the question she was asked.
Is this phrase "factually wrong":
"Americans are black, white, Asian and many other races and ethnicities."
Is it? Does it make the claim that all Americans are Asian?
