My bible says that humans are made in the image of God. Obviously, since we all don't look alike, there must be a common factor. I believe that factor is the soul. Since everyone has a soul, then we are all valuable to God and to each other.
Some people choose the wrong path (whatever that is) but it is up to God to separate "the sheep" from "the goats" at the day of judgement. Each must answer to God for the "works" they have done. As much as possible, we are told to love our neighbor.
Did Isaac Newton matter more than Hitler? Could we not attribute more value to mankind to Newton than Hitler?
Did William Shakespeare matter more than Justin Bieber ever will? Socrates more than Snoop Dog? Abraham Lincoln more than Al Sharpton?
Is it true that some lives matter more than others? Would you trade the life Jonas Salk (cured polio) for that of Kim Kardashian?
How about serial killers like Ted Bundy? Does your life matter more than his?
Do Some Lives Matter More Than Others?
The OP is regarding man's value to mankind, not God. Mankind (in his sinful state) has no intrinsic value to God. . . . .
The OP only asks if lives "matter" and the OP doesn't speak of to whom they may or may not matter.
Mankind in his sinful state is worth sending Christ as our Redeemer.
The way God sees things is the way they really are. Our own vision and our own seeing are mere approximations of the way they really are, and that includes whether or not you "matter".
Are you saying that God saves man for his worth?
The first shall be last and the last shall be first. If you want to be great then you have to be servant to all. The more you serve the greater you are. " From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked." Luke 12 48Did Isaac Newton matter more than Hitler? But what about turning the other cheek?Paranoid? Do you wear a seat belt? Do you have a fire extinguisher? My ability and desire to defend myself against an attacker is only different in that one of our lives may end. That is a serious distinction indeed but I am unwilling to leave my wife and son without my support without taking some sort of preventive action.
If you wish to sacrifice your life for that of a killer, that is your prerogative. It simply means that you place more value on that person's life than your own. Hence, pragmatically, both lives are not equal.
God's idea of our worth is the truth about our worth.
Rom 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
There is no other definition of our worth that matters.

We can look at this from God's perspective or man's. While every soul is precious to God, He also knows that some men will love evil and live for evil. He already sees them in Hell. So their lives do not matter. On the other hand God sees those who will obey the Gospel and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. The Church (redeemed Jews and Gentiles in one Body) definitely matters to God and He has an eternal plan and purpose for the Church (which is the Body, the Bride, and the Building of Christ).Do Some Lives Matter More Than Others?

So, Moses is of no more value to mankind than a crackhead?
No, Moses' life was no more valuable than that of a "crackhead". (Which is not even a label I would use, and only I write it here to quote you)
Perhaps you have forgotten that Moses was a murderer? Or that he repeatedly pleaded with God to send someone else because he didn't want to be the one to speak to Pharaoh on behalf of his people.
What do you think makes one person's life more valuable than another's. And why do you think it is your right to make such a judgement? (If that is indeed what you're inferring by asking such a question)
I think the issue here is the big difference between someone who has died and not having defined the crackhead in a similar state. Will the crackhead repent? And when they do how will that affect their contribution to human history? Ecclesiastes 9:4Wow! Just W O W.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of ... WHOM?
Why in Luke 16 is Lazarus's name given, whereas Dives is just "A certain rich man"?
