  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is my mother in violation of God's Word?

1st Corinthians 14:34-35 -- Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak...

A man being attracted to heroism in women: Godly, or ungodly?

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." -John 15:13, New International Version This verse is more or less the subject of my inquiry, and from complementarians and egalitarians alike, I'd like some counsel. Recently, I've realized that before I am ready to...

10 Things Men Need in a Woman

I've had difficulty finding suitable content in the trad sphere. It's a mixed bag and the messages aren't always biblically sound or the delivery is not to my liking. But I happened upon two people on a platform I rarely visit and they're what I've been seeking. This little nugget was worthy...

Adjusting our speak for the other sex?

Should men purposefully and willfully change they way they speak when speaking to women and vice versa? Or should they be themselves and speak as they normally would to any human. I'm not talking about topical stuff. Obviously in general men and women do have different interests, jsut sit in on...

Why doesn't the Bible seem to acknowledge male infertility?

All the lingo that addresses infertility in scripture is aimed solely towards the woman, from what I can see. But today, with science and medicine, we can prove and identity if the cause of infertility is not with the woman, but instead is with the man. Surely there had to be infertile men all...

Any patristic sources on 1 Timothy 2:11-12 that address whether the context is the church?

1 Timothy 2:11-12 has been variously understood. One view I recently heard is that it teaches women to be silent not only in church, as is the case in 1 Corinthians 14:34-35, but also in secular matters. After making several contextual arguments for women not to teach with authority, this...

Are Men and Women Both Created in God’s Image?

Are men and women both created in God’s image? The answer is surprisingly simple. Yes, they are. In the second chapter of Genesis, God breathes the breath of life into Adam. Eve doesn’t directly receive the breath of life, she only receives it indirectly from Adam. The first chapter of...

Women ordination, can somebody help explain?

Dear Wesleyan, Methodists and Nazarenes, I'm looking for a new denomination and I'm very attracted to the Church of the Nazarene. For me it is important to be in a sola scriptura church. I found whole denominations split over the ordination of women. It appears to me that most info on the net...

    Christian Woman’s Club

Hello all! I’m interested in either joining a group or creating one (nothing that requires too much from one another as I know we have such busy lives but it would be nice to just have a group of women there for one another). I have copied and pasted the post I made in the Woman’s Only Forums...

The western world hates PATRIARCHY and the church ignores it. By this are we sinning?

Some think that patriarchy is about power. But I think it is about responsibility and it is the system directed in the Bible. But we have stepped away from patriarchy. Is that a sin and why does the church avoid this topic? The God-given authority of a man, it has been misused and squandered...
