  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why is religious faith in decline?

What explains the trend of decreased religious belief and practice in the U.S.? Given the findings of the following Barna poll, how do you explain the reason for this trend? I am interested in how a person’s religious tradition, non-belief, or presuppositions shape the way they engage with...

Why aren't Christians obeying Jesus Christ?

As a former Christian (now atheist), I have read the four gospels plenty of times. What I want Christians on this site to answer is why aren't they doing the explicit teachings of Jesus as contained in the gospels? Thanks, and I don't mean this to insult people: I'd just like to get a respectful...

    Every jot and tittle

Hi all. I've had a look at a few threads here which deal with the old law and how it correlates to the new testament. There seems to be a growing number of people today who want to go back to the old law as though the old ways are superior to what Jesus taught. I believe this video does a...

"Philosophically speaking, is the Trinity considered polytheism?"

It's been long said that the Trinity is a mystery in which can never be known. That may be true but I firmly believe that the Holy Spirit can bring revelation at any moment in time because our God is a living God, not a dead one!!!! For The Spirit is always at work. Hints and pieces of the...

How do understand the Bible and God on a practical level?

if God's word is objective, then how we interpret it is subjective? the argument is that since our interpretation of the world is unique to us. that would make our interpretation subjective. So by the time say gospels or God's teachings get to us perhaps we are all hearing objective truths, but...

    Today's Christian Religion

"Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples: "The scribes and Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So, practice and observe everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, burdensome loads and lay them on men's shoulders, but...

    Serving The Kingdom Of Heaven

The kingdom of heaven, sometimes referred to as the kingdom of God, is literally all around us. Not long before Jesus began His earthly ministry, the scriptures tell us that John the Baptist was sent to prepare the way for Him. John proclaimed, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."...

Did Jesus Tell Us To Do That?

Did Jesus tell His followers to get out there and plant churches and win souls? If so, what book, chapter, and verse was that written? I can’t seem to find it. In fact, I read that there is only one Church. Furthermore, as servants of the Most High we cannot win anything on our own. If a soul is...

From 1619 to 2019: 400 years of racial progress?

Another Thanksgiving has come and gone and after having visited Williamsburg, VA this past week, looking upon small masses of my fellow Americans who were, like me, out and about with family, I thought about how far our supposed 'Christianized' and even 'Enlightened' nation has come in its own...

Is there truth in religions other than Christianity?

"For what is now called the Christian religion existed even among the ancients and was not lacking from the beginning of the human race until “Christ came in the flesh.” From that time, true religion, which already existed, began to be called Christian." (Augustine of Hippo, The Retractations...

For We Walk By Faith, Not By Sight (2 Corinthians 5:7)

The true followers of Christ (citizens of the kingdom of heaven) are called to walk by faith and not by sight here on earth. This means we are to walk in a way that is in direct conflict to how we once walked when spiritually dead in our former lives as the unsaved do. Furthermore, we who are...

This word is four paragraphs long, so if you are simply into a quick one or two liner this is not for you. However, if you are interested in the great falling away taking place today in the world this word is for you. The Bible predicts a great “falling away” from God in the end times. “Now...

Are You Really Doing The Will Of The Father?

There are many who claim to know Jesus who attend weekly local church services and even donate some time and money to help others less fortunate than themselves, but is this what Jesus meant when He told us to do the will of the Father? Jesus never told us to go to church, read the bible, or...
