  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Online Christian Ministry

Hello, Me and my pastor have started a ministry online. I wanted to start this ministry because of the direction I have seen many churches going recently. They are starting to become social groups preaching a watered down gospel and forgetting about making disciples and saving peoples souls...

    Questions about Orthodoxy

hey there, I was hoping to understand Orthodoxy better by starting a thread to ask questions to the Orthodox community. Dreams That Show Future Blessings

Hello, I have some questions about dreams. Let me give a little backstory first: 2017 Has been an incredible year personally. I've felt better than I have in a long time, spiritually and physically. And I say that because 2016 destroyed me. It was the absolute worst year of my life and a true...

Hello everyone I'm pretty much new here and seeking some answers but also to bond with fellow believers on this site. But onto the questions.. Catholicism questions from a Protestant

    1. I have seen a lot of things saying a person needs Catholic godparents to be baptised, what if someone doesn't know any Catholics? Or doesn't have any who are around enough / close enough to them to act as godparents? 2. Where is the apocrypha (Books like Maccabees, Tobit, etc.) from and why...

    Why fear questions?

As exemplified by conversations I've had on a few threads, it seems that a lot of times when I or others ask questions, even hypothetical ones, the questions are either dodged, ignored, or given responses similar to "His ways are not our ways" or "it's bad to question things". So I ask... why...

    Becoming a Vegetarian

Hi, I'm thinking of becoming a vegetarian as I love animals and I've been doing some research and discovering how the animals are being slaughtered makes me cringe. I believe that all animals have feelings, wild and domesticated. Also I sometimes watch the news and seeing and hearing the...

Faith? What do you mean by faith?

"I have faith in God" seems to always be able to be translated in two ways: 1) "I have trust in God because evidence suggests he is trustworthy" 2) "I have evidence which I find compelling for God's existence" Faith and evidence are closely linked. In the first case, faith is akin to trust in...

Why were the Nazis obsessed with blue eyes and blonde hair?

Just been watching the new Dad's Army movie and there's a German spy on the loose. Then something popped into my head from one of my PSHE classes when I was in sixth form, we were having a discussion and someone mentioned that the nazis had this thing for blonde hair blue eyes. Is Stereotyping Necessary? What are Your Opinions?

Why does society use it? Do you think it's a good idea? Do you think it's a bad idea? Have you ever been stereotyped because of who you are? I personally don't think it's a good idea as it can give a false idea about someone. People should get to know them before they make assumptions about...

Do any of you have a nose piercing?

I got my nose pierced yesterday at a local tattoo studio in the city centre. It wasn't too bad, but did make my eyes water. The piercer was very polite, explained to me what he was going to do etc. Very happy with the result. :-) Do any of you own a nose piercing? If so, would like to hear...

    What's the traditional(ist) Catholic's perspective on...

Howdy all, I figured I'd try to make a thread on the new forum, just to see how well it turns out. I see Michie made a thread already about general issues that self-styled traditionalists may have with the modern RCC, but I'm hoping that this can be a thread for more specific questions. Below...
