they were savage barbarians who did not know God. why else would they have killed Jesus? no one who loved him would have killed him. thankfully Jesus Christ came for sinners and certainly his people had all the day long been fools though always a remnant remains. the law was given by angels and angels in heaven don't know what evil is and so we must understand the law properly otherwise sin uses it for its own evil purposes. God meets people where they are at in hopes to bring them up to where he is but those who harden their hearts reap the same that is in their hearts. but those who see God find a new language and all things are pure.

Why were people stoned to death, even though the 6th commandment says Thou Shalt Not Kill?
Jesus explained “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” in John 8:7. During OT times the nation of Israel had God as their king rule over them, someone that is real who is without sin living among them. The command He gave them was "Thou Shalt Not Kill".

And when He imposes a death sentence such as in Acts 5:1-11, what happens to that individual in its' simplest form is Ecclesiastes 12:7

"You shall not kill" obviously does not apply to people whom God commanded to be executed.

It can be more accurately translated as "Thou shalt not murder" and murder is unlawful killing.

John 8:1-12 is another example of Jesus following the law rather than making changes to how it is obeyed. There was no judge to pronounce a sentence (Deuteronomy 19:17-21), there was no man accused (Leviticus 20:10), he didn't have any witnesses to examine (Numbers 35:30, Deuteronomy 17:6, Deuteronomy 19:5), he did not have a confession, so if he had condemned her, then he would have acted in violation of the law. Just a few verses later Jesus said that he judged no one (John 8:15) and he also said that he came not to judge (John 12:47), so he did not exercise authority as a magistrate and did not condemn her, but he did recognize her action as sin, and told her to go and sin no more.

EXCELLENT response. Yes, they were "executed", which is "legal killing". It's a judgment of God.

Thank you and God bless you.

Even if it wasn't "legal killing", everyone on earth(billions) is executed , in the end,

except a few, a remnant, a portion from different groups of people that God chooses for Himself.

(no group is 'safe' - God isn't giving any group an advantage or a favor - they all die).

"Trust us" all the groups say, and die. (Read the book of Revelation - it is extraordinary! - ALL the people are subject to God's Judgment , totally, and no one is 'whisked away' to escape God's Judgment;
anyhow, in Revelation God tells the religious people how to be saved (because most aren't), and He tells the irreligious people how to be saved also (they're more likely to listen to God, but most still don't).

"Call on God while He may be found" God's Word says, and a few listen.

yeah because you all really believe that it is okay to kill your children who are rebellious.
Where's that come from ? Most people here are(may) not even willing to train their children, nor to spank their children, or to tell them the truth (for whatever reason, if they even know the truth is rare).

then why do they project unto God their evils hidden in their hearts? or why do they lie in their hearts and say that they know better than God and justify it with legalistic interpretations of the bible?

That's kind of a rhetorical question.

Notice in Scripture, that those you refer to are also talked about,
and that those you refer to 'ruled' over others -
those you refer to where greater in number and in power, they were leaders and rulers.

God's people in the NT never became nor ever sought to be rulers over others.
God's people in the NT had their hearts layed open before God and fellow believers - nothing hidden.
God's people in the NT didn't lie in their hearts , nor say they knew better than God,
nor even defend any sin or action they did -
God's people in the NT didn't interpret the bible (that was and is forbidden by God, and is sinful).

God's people today , you can hardly find anywhere.
pm for a few leads, but they are untested, unproven leads.
there's very very little to find if you are looking for God's people.

I find them everywhere but most seem a bit spiritually confused when it comes to the nature and ways of God

but you are right. there are many elements in each soul and whatever they allow to rule over them will be their master.

it will be God, who is the consuming fire, that shall rid all from their evil elements when they are willing and obedient. and that is what it means to put to death the rebellious children. the letter kills but the spirit gives life. the flesh profits nothing, it is the words that Christ gives which are spirit and which are life. but some are dull of hearing and untrained in the discernment between good and evil.

the meek shall inherit the earth. and the poor reign in the heavens. once again the OT laws are from good angels who know not the evil ways of humans but only know life as God sees and gives it to them. to believe that God was so crude and thought that rebellious children must be stoned to death is to have faith in evil and so it is not right to say that God spoke such things. but like always there are people who stumble over Christ and who have ears but don't hear and who have eyes but don't see.

the very mindset that most have with their understanding of the bible is the same type of evil mind of the flesh which got Jesus Christ tortured and killed, not to mention persecuted and demonized. "they hated me without a cause" yes, because irrational people have no reason.

Because that was a different time and a different covenant for a different people. The new covenant changes all of that.
