  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Genesis 20:6

How does this verse apply to our lives in the here and now? Does God really restrain people but taking away our free will or was this only something done in biblical days?

    Hello my brothers and sisters.

I'm new to Christian forums, well tbh, I'm new to the whole forum thing. So I could use some tips and pointers on how to navigate. I found Christian forums, solely because of my current marital situation. I'm about to be single again. It's not easy to turn into text, but it's the truth. I'm...

My 2nd post, another on Love

My 2nd post. The political climate and endeavors of modern life are trying for many of us. Nothing ever changes in human politics (there is nothing new under the sun, Ecclesiastes 1:9), yet it often finds ways to seem worse throughout history. And I want less hate in the world. Because life is...

    A little something on Love

We are learning where we are going. We don’t know where yet. But I hope it’s a good direction. We will find new systems along the way (economic, cultural, food, production, work), and we need to work hard for these new systems to work well and be meaningful. Love is more than a word. Love is...

    Afraid of commitment

Hello everyone, My boyfriend and I were talking about our separate incomes and how we can put that together after I graduate in about a year and we get married. We then started talking about getting a place in a nearby city and he started looking up condos right then for some reason. While...

    Loving Unselfishly

When we study the Old Testament of the Bible, we must always read it in light of the New Covenant Relationship God now has with his people who believe in Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior of their lives. And, this particularly applies to when we read Old Testament and Old Covenant law, such as...

Turning the other cheek vs actively doing something

I know scripture says we are to turn the other cheek when wronged but how many times are we to turn it when being abused/wrong by the same person over and over taking pleasure in it making your life difficult? Will God actually do anything about it? Or am I just to accept this abuse for as long...

Let The Light Of The Lord Shine Through You

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). Each day we who are true Christians make a choice between surrendering our own will to serve the kingdom of heaven or obliviously fulfill the desires of our flesh and those of spirit of this world. However...

"Why do I want to be around people who scare me?"

Hello everyone, This is what my therapist asked me at my last session. I told her that the reason why I still try to see my abusive family is because they are my family and I love them, so I still try to see them from time to time. Though, I usually try to bring someone with me when I actually...

    God Is....

The King James Bible never uses the term 'exists' when speaking of God. Rather, it speaks of God in this manner; "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6) It...

    Love and Kindness

Colossians 3:1-4 ESV If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Surrender The Need To Be In Control And Place Others Above Oneself!

How easy is it for us to fall into the trap of behaving in a way that drives us to feel the need to be in control? Yet, it is our human nature to live this way. This nature causes us to want to make everything fit within the framework of our own understanding, and when it does not it can effect...

Seven Standards Of Christian Life. Part 1

The book of Revelation, chapters 2-3, provide us with seven standards for our life of faith. 1) Adherence to the first love of redemption. We love God because He first loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins (1 John 10, 19). In continually observing the first love we...
