  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What does the new commandment look to you like? Are you similar to your brothers in its expression?

Hi there, So I just thought I would make it easy for myself: what does the new commandment look like to you? Is there a specific way, a love language, that you would like the new commandment to be rendered to you? How would someone new to faith love you? I personally love it when people do...

    Lost Opportunities

The Lord reminded me this morning of this old poem I wrote in 1984: Spring 1984 Lost opportunities to share His love, To touch a life, to show you care, Touch a hand, help mend a heart Broken down with grief and despair. Lost opportunities to be a friend, To share a smile, to shed a tear...

    His Gentle Whisper

An Original Work / December 12, 2019 In the stillness of the moment, As I sit here in the silence, I am talking with my Savior, And I’m listening for His kindness. I can hear His gentle whisper, As He breaks through all the hush, And He tells me that He loves me, Which He does, so very much...

    You Loved Me (Song)

On November 27, 2019, the Lord Jesus gave me a poem to write entitled, “You Loved Me.” So, I posted it on the internet. Then, one of my fellow Christian bloggers and friend, Tosin, read the poem. And, she responded to it with a tune for the poem, so it could become a song. God had given the tune...

Some Thoughts: Is The Pursuit Of Joy Required For Salvation And Obedience To Jesus?

I do not believe that emotions—not even the emotion of joy—is to be the object of our pursuit of God. The Bible is clear that the heart—the seat of our emotional being—is desperately wicked and “sick.” Our emotions are shaped by our experiences in life—our past experiences. How one person...

    You Loved Me

An Original Work / November 27, 2019 When I was lonely and afflicted, You were there to pick me up. You took me in Your arms, And You tenderly held me. Your love embraced me. Your grace sustained me. When my heart cried out to You In my despair, You did not shun me, But You let me know that...

What to do when you've been as kind as can be, and they still torment you?

I thought that by being kind and caring to the people who try to hurt me, that they would eventually become a friend. But after years of trying I am at a loss for what my next move should be. Do you guys have any thoughts about this type of situation?

    Boyfriend hit the brakes

Hello everyone, My boyfriend and I were starting to look for a place to live since, we were talking about us getting engaged and getting married. I was about to look around for us to get on waiting lists for low income housing, since it can take awhile to find a place. We were hoping to have...

    Beggar & Good Samaritan

My wife and I cried as we watched this short video. The video (link below) illustrates how the world can see the love of Christ in action and shows how it can make a difference. This is how we preach the gospel. Not with our words (most people have heard them already), but through our actions of...

Give me the world! Make me the greatest!

Hi there, So prophetically we know that Jesus said "God will separate the sheep from the goats and to the sheep he will say "enter Heaven" and to the goats He will say "go to Hell"" (from memory). And we marvel that God's word about the afterlife is true, when there are so many differences...

Alain de Botton on Love etc.

A fan thread for author and speaker Alain de Botton. I somehow got to watching videos about marriage and relationships and eventually stumbled on this video. It's a funny but also thought provoking video from a obvious secular author and thinker on modern relationships. He spends the...

What does God expect of me?

A vital question that sometimes can make me think, what do my fellow Christians or the Pastor, expect me to be? Sometimes I find it easier to tell God what I expect of Him... to watch over me, comfort me, heal me, forgive me, Now I must think and pray after asking myself this question

    Love in Truth

Romans 12:1 ESV I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. When we come to faith in Jesus Christ, this is not merely about Jesus forgiving us our sins so that we can go...

    Diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder

    My Introduction

I should introduce myself. My name is Daniel Roth. I live in Canada. I was recently born again and am currently being baptized in the Holy Spirit and Fire. Why Me? (Reflection on Election)

Therefore being justified by faith....... 6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we...

    Powerful Words

Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. —Proverbs 18:21 25 Ways to Build Up Your Companion I’ve been thinking about you all day. What can I do for you today? How can I pray for you today? The best part of my day is when you come home. You are...

Can we learn without love? (thoughts on a lecture I heard today)

So I was listening to a lecturer on Russian Literature talk about Tolstoy. A theme that pops up on Tolstoy's work is the idea that when we try to teach people and get frustrated, impatient and lack empathy for them, the student doesn't learn This was expressed in Prince Bolkonski trying to...

    Love, Obedience & Forgiveness

1 John 2:1-2 ESV My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. Jesus...
