  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Did Noah, let a pair of serpents, on the Ark?

Hi, I have to admit, it is fairly difficult coming up with your own theological controversy - I have only really managed two coins of thought that relate to the Bible (besides Eschatology) and this is the second. The point is: God really leaves it up to you, to do the interpreting (if you don't...

    Changing your mind about prophecy

Hi all. I recently watched a video about a person who had changed his mind regarding his stance on pre-trib rapture. The video made some interesting points about just how difficult it is to change the way we perceive important, spiritual truths, especially when that change requires us to face...

    The will of God

“We [earnestly] urge you, believers, admonish those who are out of line [the undisciplined, the unruly, the disorderly], encourage the timid [who lack spiritual courage], help the [spiritually] weak, be very patient with everyone [always controlling your temper]. See that no one repays another...

A reiteration of a prayer request( very important to me)

First and most importantly I want to give praise to GOD for answering prayer to restore a friendship and a softening of a coworkers heart. There is much more progress needed but there has been a start or seeming an positive step forward on being on good terms with this individual. In spite of...

    Romans 1:16

Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth. Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (NOTE: The gospel of Christ is the power of God...

If I consistently show you, that I am adapting, but the adaptations are not from a monkey, then...?

Hi there, So yes, I feel like any place would be as good as any other to proclaim, that I have made my "peace" with 'Evolution'. I understand that without Evolution, my definition as a human, would not be as "pronounced" and I understand that what I think is "pronounced" may not last to the...

    Sirius XM, Anti Jesus??

Good afternoon Fellow Christians, I'm writing this today because I'm disturbed at what I found out about Sirius XM radio. I tried to sign up for their service today and was met with a message that said "the word Jesus is not allowed in your password." I then proceeded to put satan in my...

    When Standard Anchor is Useless

For a Christian, obsessions and troubles can remove your focus and hold upon the Anchor of life, our Savior and Lord of us and the universe. Maybe similar to the disciples' anxious and terrified focus upon the raging storm while Jesus slept peaceably in the boat. No matter what grabs our focus...

    Not of this World

Summary John 17:1-13 Jesus Christ, God the Son, was praying to God the Father. This is while Jesus was still on the earth. But he was getting ready to go to his death on a cross for the salvation of human souls in order that he might deliver us from our slavery to sin and grant us eternal life...

In Middle Earth would Jesus be a hobbit?

Despite any overt Christianity (religion?) in the LoTR etc one can perceive a Christian/religious subtext. Jesus was a servant from a humble background who practiced what he preached - namely self sacrifice for the common good. Hobbits were also humble people who served and loved each other...

    Is Jesus a Socialist?

Why did Jesus feed the hungry, tell us to take care of the sick and to invite the stranger into our house? Matthew 25 Isn't Jesus promoting people to be lazy? Like today, if someone is poor and hungry you tell them to get a job or if they are sick, you tell them to get better coverage and if...

Once saved always saved, or abundantly saved no matter what is always?

Hi there, So yes, I think I have an answer to the problem, of whether you can lose your salvation and for how long you can keep it, all in the one answer! We are abundantly saved! That means there is an abundance of ways to respond to salvation, right to the end! The concept of abundant...

We need to radically rethink what it means to be loving

I hear a lot about how unloving Christians are when we say that certain acts and "lifestyles" are sinful. In response to this accusation, I point to the Lord Jesus: 13¶“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in...

    The Road Less Traveled

An Original Work / October 24, 2020 I had a choice between two roads – One was narrow, and one was broad, One was honest, and one a fraud, One of the devil, one of God. I had to choose which one to take – The road less traveled, will it do? Or should I choose what others do? Which will be...

    Thoughts on Prayer

Hi all. Over the past few years I've really struggled with my prayer life. Sometimes the struggle was good in that it resulted in growth and sometimes it felt like I was just getting by. I often struggle to know what to say. Am I saying the right things? Am I talking enough, or too much...

"From Nothing" a praise song about God's amazing creation

Hi all. I really like this song. I believe God is the ultimate artist and that he takes joy not only in his creation, but the efforts we make to imitate his artistic joy in our own lives. The creator takes joy in our efforts to please him!

The world feels threatened, from beginning to end

Hi there, So I realise you may be struggling spiritually; and you may be wondering "Why do people attack me?" I just want to say 'you'll get through it', nothing has tempted you but that which is common to man (1 Cor 10:13) - these threats you feel, this doubt you have, is all because the world...

[MOVED] It's like I'm addicted to the approval of the Church?

Hi there, The Kitchen Sink, seems like a good place to put this: I really don't think it fits anywhere, to be addressed to the Church in General, but not some or others, depending on how its interpreted. The question is simple: "Am I addicted to the approval of the Church?" I suppose if it came...

The Devil doesn't want converts to believe they are chosen and appointed

Hi there, So I have been a believer for many years now, and I have frequently struggled, with what my faith means. I said the line "Jesus, I make you my Lord and Saviour" in direct contradiction to the verse "you did not choose me" John 15:16-17. The systemic problem then, went back to what...
