Did Noah, let a pair of serpents, on the Ark?

    Hi,

I have to admit, it is fairly difficult coming up with your own theological controversy - I have only really managed two coins of thought that relate to the Bible (besides Eschatology) and this is the second. The point is: God really leaves it up to you, to do the interpreting (if you don't involve Him, in some greater way, at least). This second one, is a doozy.
The whole point of God's destruction of the people of Earth, was that nothing God judged would escape; but instead, that which God forewarned, was able to escape. In making this decision, it seems apparent that God favoured the serpents - in as much as He didn't wipe them out, along with everything else, that didn't get on the "Ark".

I suppose the lesson learned, is that just because you may be a certain kind of creature, God will not hold your sin, against other creatures of your kind. This is important, when you consider the culmination of forgiveness at the cross - there isn't a doubling and redoubling of sacrifices for sin, simply one payment for all. Heaven then, is a very simple thing: the simple appreciation of the price paid, for the sins of the world.

I guess what is perplexing is, if you have a serpent running around tempting the entire Creation into sin - wouldn't it be easier to wipe the serpent out, along with everything else you destroy?

I hope you have a laugh, anyway - I'm actually just trying to get the right light on the "Scriptural Diamond" we call 'the Word of God'.

Well, you'd have to ask which serpent. There are many kinds of serpents, but we don't know of a serpent that talks and tempts since the serpent in the Garden of Eden. Of course, that serpent was understood to be either an allegory for Satan, or possessed by Satan, and we know that Satan is not bound to a particular physical form. There is no reason in the Biblical narrative that Satan made it onto the Ark.

The serpent in the garden of Eden was Satan, not a physical snake. All animals were brought onto the Ark. The snake is as much a victim of Adam's folly as any other creature.

It's misstranslation of serpent , should be the shinning one in garden of Eden.
like Eve was not deceived because she saw talking snake lol
She saw being which was illuminating all different colors a heavenly creature , one of most high angels created by God and he told her that She could be like him and others "gods".

And ye perhaps he had one of face of serpent , just like different cherubs have different faces , they have 4 faces but it was as I understand not a creature like our today's serpents.

Certainly snakes have their purpose. Some are not poisonous and we have them around our house because they keep down the pest population.

Yes she was. She found it as totally unexpected as we would.

The implied argument was that if the tree of knowledge could do that for a serpent - imagine what it would do for a human... it would make the human like God.

It was in complete harmony with the debate point that Satan was trying to make.

He was proving his point on two levels.

    1. It proved you would not die if you ate.
    2. It proved that you would evolve to the next higher level if you ate.

He had a living-proof experiment done while Eve watched to prove his case.

serpents within themselves are not the problem .... it was satan that entered into a serpent body that was the problem ... so yeah were serpents on the ark.

Yeah and He's going to wipe out satan (referred to a the serpent of old) in the very end.

    Revelation 20:2

    And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;

Hi, the story tells that all that were on surface of earth (earth means in the Bible dry land). It is possible that serpents actually are animals that can live also below the earth’s surface and so perhaps were not in the Ark.
