The CNN post debate poll was indicated to be one of the few scientific polls regarding the debate performance of Clinton and Trump. While some internet sites conducted polls, these have no controls on who participates and are vulnerable to campaigns to promote a given candidate.
From the CNN article:
Hillary Clinton was deemed the winner of Monday night's debate by 62% of voters who tuned in to watch, while just 27% said they thought Donald Trump had the better night, according to a CNN/ORC Poll of voters who watched the debate.

26% of the respondents who participated in tonight's survey identified themselves as Republicans, 41% identified themselves as Democrats, and 33% identified themselves as Independents.
In general it was still by this poll a victory for Clinton. However, the extent of that victory may not be as much when you take into account the disparity between the number of Republican and Democrat respondents.
Interestingly, when looked at with these number is mind, it also shows Trump likely outperformed Clinton during the early portion of the debate on the economy.
Next, regardless of which presidential candidate you support, please tell me if you think Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump would better handle each of the following issues:
Economy:
Clinton 51%
Trump 47%
Even with only 26 percent of the respondents being Republican Donald still had the support of 47 percent on the economy.
On the other hand on foreign policy we see Clinton still with a victory.
Foreign Policy
Clinton 62%
Trump 35%
Clinton also was indicated to have expressed her views more clearly, etc.
