  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Tired of this

I understand what you're saying because my pastor also did a Da Vinci Code series when the movie came out. I agree it's not as big a deal because I don't think being married/not was a big part of who Jesus was, and I agree that there was too much uproar over it, ie people being offended. But I...

Finding someone who feels the same

Hi and welcome! Yes you are definitely welcome to post here, anyone is, married or not, parent or not, just as long as you are interested in (respectfully) discussing being a childfree Christian. I'm the exact same way. I'm actually "on the fence" at the moment, but have never had maternal...

    Bad parenting is good parenting.

LOL :) Nah, I was speaking about it from a personal choice perspective, that I'm more likely to not want kids in a world where raising them is tough vs. a world where raising kids is easier. On that note, I'm getting kind of hungry, so I'm tempted to go cook dinner. Oops, is eating now a bad...

    Tired of this

This is exactly the way I'm starting to feel, that theology and politics are entirely separate entities. Snooch is 100% right that nobody is going to be saved by inserting Christian morality into secular government, and just become more turned off to it, so there's absolutely no reason for it...

    Bad parenting is good parenting.

I was recently thinking about that idea, if I was born in an era of no birth control how would I feel about being "forced" to have kids? Honestly, I don't think I'd care because it wouldn't be a viable choice I could consider. Kind of like, right now I don't have the choice to not work, so I...

Possible Job Opportunity - Please Pray

Sorry you didn't get the job :( I know how it feels to not get a job you really want. But sounds like you have a great attitude towards it and hope your current job continues to improve.

The debate rages on other blogs...

The internet would be a much better place if everyone took this advice. But maybe it's because I spent too much time today reading a controversial thread tied to an article on a newspaper web site today, and noticed just how pointless it all was.

The debate rages on other blogs...

Good responses here so far. I'll reiterate my belief that Christians that believe being childfree is immoral do not bother me. This man/woman has deeply held beliefs and I can respect them, even though I don't agree with them, and from the last comment on the second thread it sounds like s/he...

    I love my....

    1. God 2. My husband 3. My family (parents and in-laws who get along great, we're kind of like one big family!) 4. My Golden Retriever 5. Sense of creativity and ability to make things 6. Job, that may not be the most exciting thing in the world but it pays well, is stable, and the people are...

    The Pill(s) your opinion

A wonderful explanation! From my understanding, combination pills are the "normal" pill type, the first type that came out and what most pills are. POP's are a fairly recent invention made primarily for women who can't handle the fake estrogen.

    The Pill(s) your opinion

Both of these are good points and reasons why I am skeptical of the "pill causes abortions" argument, because there's never a guarantee that a zygote will implant in the uterus even if the lining is perfect. I've always been a bit doubtful that you can consider a woman "pregnant" until the...

    Anybody know?

It may have originated elsewhere in Cyberspace, but I think HeyHomie was the first one to bring it to this board. http://christianforums.com/t3783750-breeder-bingo.html

    Contraception = witchcraft

I've never believed HP was evil because I understood that the type of magic in it is fantasy based, like Cinderella/Lord of the Rings/Narnia/Wizard of Oz. After reading the books, I can confirm that this is definitely the case. To paraphrase the quote from the contraception article, JK Rowling...
