Oh undoubtedly! I think you and I both agree we would much rather have two better candidates. I would vote for Nicky Haley if she could get the nod. Many on the right could accept Joe Manchien. Unforunatly the wingnuts are currently ascendent and so we are stuck with these two unless there is a seismic shift.

VP only has two roles.

1. Being President of the Senate and voting to break ties,
2. Taking over if the President dies or resigns.

The second hasn't happened (but apparently is part of the fantasies of many on the right, not sure why) and as for the first she's the best of all time (at tie-breaking votes, no VP spends any time presiding in the Senate in a long, long time).
