"Coastal waters around Florida have reached alarming temperatures of 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 degrees Celsius) with no sign of cooling off anytime soon, experts say."

Florida waters now 'bona fide bathtub conditions' as heat dome engulfs state

Scientists say Florida Keys coral reefs are already bleaching as water temperatures hit record highs

Surface temperatures around the Keys have been averaging about 91 degrees (33 Celsius), well above the normal mid-July average of 85 degrees (29.5 Celsius), said Jacqueline De La Cour, operations manager for NOAA’s Coral Reef Watch program.

As a comparison the Great Barrier Reef which covers 344,400 sq km, 91% has been affected by coral bleaching to some degree.

Like a hot tub: Water temperatures off Florida soar over 100 degrees, stunning experts

On Monday, a buoy near Manatee Bay recorded an astounding 101.1 degree water temperature, a temperature common for hot tubs.

The water temperatures recorded Sunday and Monday would challenge the record for hottest sea surface temperature in the world. While official world water temperature records aren't kept, a 99.7 degree temperature recorded in Kuwait Bay is considered the world record at this time. Due to factors like proximity to land and the silty nature of the water, the temperatures recorded off Florida would have to go through an extensive verification process.

If you were governor of Florida, would you declare a state of emergency and order everyone out?

Perhaps the heating water is due to a lack of ozone layer

Rather than a .01% increase in CO2

Or maybe another source?

Too much of anything is bad, even a holy book!

Some things are immune to the distinction "too much."

I live in SW FL. I could give you the names of all my neighbors who are praying that their A/Cs hold up over next several weeks. We along with most SW states are experiencing the hottest weather over the past 100,000 years. We have already had 2 weeks of mid 90 degree heat. TX and AZ are ever worse off with temps of over 100 to 110 with a heat index reaching 120. These are record breaking temperatures.

I would say ask your neighbors but perhaps you are surrounded by the climate deniers.

Alternately read any newspaper from Florida, Texas, Arizona or any Southwest state or from around the world. You can also clink on the links below.

I find this chart interesting in that atheists are about twice as likely to be concerned about the climate as religious people.

I'm in az with no cooler a 20 year old window ac anD an underground water leak. I'm about to fill up buckets, take a shower and shut the water off. What you have to admit that our summers can reach 122 but it's always hot here we are some what prepared, they are not and what do they always mention, one word..... HUMIDITY! That makes a world of difference in temps. I pray for them and think their deaths will be higher, sadly. God watch over them as it's moving east now

Ron DeSantis says insurers will return to Florida after hurricane season

“I think what’s going to happen is because we did those reforms, it now is more economical for companies to come in.
