Star Trek episode.

Because it shows the very situation.

And sort of explains it.
If that's the same or similar to the earlier clip, it's science fiction - it can't happen in quantum 'Many Worlds', and there is no scientific multiverse hypothesis where it could happen. You can only pick and choose which parts of a scientific theory or formulation to ignore, and which bits to add magical stuff to, in fiction.

If you want to believe a fantasy explanation for your very ordinary memory failings, that's your concern; but if you claim support from a scientific hypothesis, however speculative, you're fooling yourself if you think you can just break the rules to make things the way you want.

I never thought I'd see the day when someone is making worse arguments for their position than the flat earthers.

I'm not making arguments, I'm sharing insightful videos.

And you're failing to appreciate them, which says nothing about the validity of the idea.

The idea is true, whether or not you appreciate the idea.

It's true because... you say so?

But they're not about reality.

“After all, I believe that legends and myths are largely made of 'truth', and indeed present aspects of it that can only be received in this mode; and long ago certain truths and modes of this kind were discovered and must always reappear.”

― J.R.R. Tolkien

He wasn't talking about Star Trek.

Flat Earthers might learn a lot from this modus operandi.
"The earth is flat! It's just that everytime anyone takes an objective measurement, they are shifted to a paralell universe where it is spherical. And, no, "paralell" is not a typo, this is the way this word is written in my universe."
