It is a dangerous theology!

The Third Temple is an absolute requirement.

An Anti-Christ is an absolute requirement.

They anticipate great wars between Israel and the Arab nations.

They anticipate Damascus being turned into a heap of ruins.

They anticipate Armageddon.

They anticipate two thirds of all Jews facing their destruction. But God already judged the nation of Israel in 70AD and effectively erased from history the Old Covenant system, the Temple, and Temple sacrifices for 1,944 years now. But the Dispys and Pre-Mills deny this and believe God and the Jews are due for a second round. No I stand corrected, this will be the third round (Babylon Captivity).

Dangerous and pessimistic...

Yes, I've been to the archive.
But that just deals with the external. My problems have to do with more of an internal nature conserning God's Word that can be traced back to the fall of man.
I'll just continue on the path He is leading me on.

Thank you.

Hit me with a PM too Lou...

This is a great free book called "Days of Vengeance". The author is David Chilton, a Reformed Presbyterian.

He does a very good job with it. You can download and save it free in ".pdf" format here:

I hope it helps you all in your study!!

It seems we are being labeled full preterists because of our unified stance on the Olivet Discourse talking about AD70, what should we do about this ideas?

Unity terrifies futurists, it's alien to them. ^_^

You stay the course progmonk. You simply give them things to think about, because in most cases, their resorting to the typical attacks that are not about rightly dividing scripture.

Think about the fact that you're opposing something (in most cases), that people have believed for years...and your position is saying their wrong.

Then there's also the fact that some are simply puppeting what their "pet teachers" say.

I can only hope, (that as with me), the reading of scripture causes them to question these things...because for me many years ago, it was reading and studying that caused me to step back and take another look!

Too many saints are simply sitting in pews allowing their pastor/teachers to feed them instead of really getting into the scriptures (and that's on a mass scale).

This is a very good scriptural refutation to the dispensational/futurist claim of 1948 being a fulfillment of prophecy by William Hendrickson. It shows the total disregard of historical fulfillment, that is rather mind boggling at times. Read it carefully here:

http://thirdmill.org/newfiles/wil_hendriksen/wil_hendriksen.RestorationProphecies.html

If one takes their time and reads this and really read the prophecies that Hendricks provides, it's very easy to see the flaws of the dispensational futurist positon of eschatology.

This is a great read of G. K. Beale on "The Israel of God"...and the problem those who don't understand it have. Those who reject the "Israel of God" will always want clear words from scripture to say the "Israel of God" is all believers, or the church, made up of Jews and Gentiles. Which is why Paul consistently will say these things:

*God is not a respecter of persons.

*Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing.

*There is no difference whether Jew or Gentile, male or female, bond or free.

They will agree with those things...BUT...they will not admit the fact that there is a Spiritual Israel, and they further will not correlte the OT prophecies, to what the NT apostles teach with regard to Israel! Particularly Romans 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11, where Paul lays very good ground work to that end.

This G. K. Beale article does a great job in showing why there is an Israel of God. I hope it helps you.

Beale's work on Temple is also quite good, just loving it at the moment
It is quite insightful!

Another thing that helps with the temple is Alfred Edresheim's work "The Temple—Its Ministry and Services."
