  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Come Out of Her, My People

Sadly, many churches have turned to idolatry and allowed sin.

Christians today (not all because there are many faithful) remind me of Israel in times of judges, who constantly compromised and mixed with sinner, and many fallen away from God. So it is with many Christians today who mix with the world and do things are evil in the eyes of the Lord
Yes, there are many parallels between the two, I agree. It is a very sad situation, indeed.

Gods 7000 year Plan for Mankind:

People are becoming more and more apprehensive about the future, as we experience a proliferation of natural disasters, with increasing political and economic problems, coupled with shortages of food and resources, mostly due to overpopulation.

But, the most obvious and the prophesied flash point of danger is the Middle East. The very existence of the State of Israel in their midst is an anathema to all the Islamic peoples. Psalms 83 lists the origins of those people who will conspire to ‘wipe out Israel as a nation’. When their attack commences, God will then answer the prayer of Psalms 83:13-18 Scatter them, my God, like thistledown, as a fire raging through the forest. Terrify them with Your storm winds, let them suffer disgrace and perish.

Many prophecies state how the Lord will act on this Day of His vengeance and wrath:

Micah 4:11-12 But now, many nations are massed against you, they say; Let Zion suffer, we will gloat over her downfall. They do not know God’s purpose – He has gathered them as sheaves for the threshing. Matthew 3:12

Psalms 37:13-15 The Lord will laugh at the wicked, their judgement is coming. They have prepared their weapons, but their swords will pierce their own hearts.

Isaiah 66:15-16 See: The Lord is coming in fire, bringing His retribution and anger. He will judge with fire and sword to test all mankind. All the wicked will die.

Deuteronomy 32:41-42 I will sharpen My flashing sword and take vengeance on those who hate Me. Nahum 1:2

Malachi 4:1 The Day comes, burning like a furnace, all evildoers will be as stubble, destroyed in a fiery blaze. 2 Peter 3:7, Hebrews 10:27

Isaiah 30:26-33 The sun will shine with seven times its normal brightness. On that Day He will protect and save His people. See; the Lord Himself comes from afar, His anger blazing and His doom heavy. With fire, He sieves the nations for destruction. Isaiah 63:1-6, Rev. 6:12-17
Ref: REB, some verses condensed.

There are many other Bible passages that describe this Day. What we can establish from them is;

1/ It is this event that takes people unawares – that ‘comes as a thief’. Much later, for the glorious Return of Jesus, we are given the exact time from certain events.

2/ It will be a worldwide event, of 24-36 hours duration. Isaiah 29:5-6, Psalms 50:1-4

3/ The Lord will actually cause fire to destroy His enemies, by the means of a CME sunstrike. Their own weapons will contribute to their destruction, the heat flash and the intense electromagnetic pulse will make rockets and explosives detonate on the ground. Psalms 7:12-16, Joel 3:4
4/ His Righteous people will be kept safe and in a short time; Isaiah 29:17, they will gather and settle in the new country of Beulah, in all of the Holy Land: Isaiah 62:4, Isaiah 35:1-10, Jeremiah 31:7-14, Ezekiel 34:11-31

The Evil Eye, Jealousy, Comparisons, True Identity, Bad or Good Will?

There are a few ideas on who Christ is, and that can effect people's morals. Jews and Christians, JWs, Catholics...
I don't think theres too much disagreement that Christ sacrificed His life in love to save us. That He became flesh and identified with us. That He emptied Himself as the Son of God to become man.

I think thats the primary message as far as our identity is concerned. That we also be willing to empty ourselves of our own identity and sacrifice ourselves in obedience to Gods will. That it is no longer I that lives but Christ that lives in me.

New Here and Recently Married

Let me start from the beginning and a warning, this is semi-long. My wife was separated, but married and I was divorced when we met. She was living with her mother-in-law at the time. Her husband had cheated on her before and during the marriage many times and she had separated from him more than a year before she met me. Now the reason for her remaining married. It was to help her husband out regarding health insurance.

She, like I, work for the state, so the health insurance is almost second to none with how good it is and the cost. Her husband had cardiac issues. When they separated, he couldn't get a job that paid well enough for him to care for himself and provide for their son. She was not going for child support, but she wanted to be sure that her husband could care for himself and their son with what job he had. He finally landed a job with the city government, and he would be able to afford his health insurance and still be able to provide for himself and their child. Divorce was discussed and papers were even filled out, on his end. She was working on them herself after he had handed them to her to do her part. Then, on Thanksgiving Day 2021, she got a call from him. He was in the hospital, and they diagnosed him with two forms of cancer. Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma. She decided to forgo the divorce as she knew that he wouldn't be able to keep his job, and it was the right decision to make, as he lost it a few months later while going through treatment.

The first treatment was supposed to give him 5–10 years. It only lasted for 2.5 years. He did another treatment, and we had hoped that this one may have gotten him the 10 years that they talked about, as it had reduced the tumors by 50% and even got rid of some. However, a month later, they did another PET scan, and he had dozens and dozens of soft-tissue tumors all throughout his body, and they had given him weeks to live. The treatment had converted the multiple myeloma cancer to the soft-tissue tumors. The doctors said that it was one of the most aggressive cancers they have ever seen. That was this past summer. He passed away on October 21, 2025.

Doing what she had done allowed him to see their son graduate high school, which is what he wanted to be able to see. He also wanted to see her be happy, and he got to see her be happy with me.

We were at the memorial last week and those that knew what she did for him came to her and thanked her with tears in their eyes for giving him almost four more years. They even came to me and thanked me as well for staying by her side and never leaving her through all of this when I had every right to do so. She herself still thanks me for the same thing. Her dad has said that he is not sure she would have made it through all of this without me, and he thanked me for the sacrifices that I made during the 9 years her and I have been boyfriend and girlfriend and then fiancés.

Yes, we lived together during this as well. Neither could afford to live on our own with the rising prices of housing in Florida. Even apartments are getting more and more expensive and she lived with her MIL as I mentioned above and I was with my own parents after the divorce. They couldn’t afford to live in the house they were in and the MIL wanted to get out on her own again. It’s not that she didn’t love my wife, it’s that she just wanted to be on her own. I was living with my parents and that was getting to be volatile with my mom. I needed out and we decided to get an apartment together. That was February 2017.

We got married February 6, 2026.

We believe that God brought us together for a reason. This is the best relationship either of us has ever had. Neither tears the other down. If we argue, which is not often, there aren’t cheap shots and they don’t last long and then we communicate with each other about the argument. We are each other’s biggest cheerleaders. It honestly is the best relationship that I have ever had in my life.

On top of this, I’ll be getting custody of my two kids after school ends. Their mom, my ex-wife, has a medical condition that is progressing and she finds it hard to take care of them now and her husband has his own health issues and his hands full with just taking care of himself and her. My kids are a girl 13 and a boy 11. They have older half siblings up north, but that is for another day.

We feel truly blessed!

I wanted to post this in the beginning so that this was all out in the open. I didn’t want to hide it while I responded to posts within the forum.

courage

Please pray that God will give me the courage to go to an event. I've gained so much weight I am embarrassed to have certain people see me. I've had this problem my entire life. That I will be judged by the way I look. This is so hard for me. I ask in the name of Jesus. Thank you and God bless you. Carmen
Please ask God to give the gift of not caring what people think of me.
Praying for your peace, health, and happiness. May God grant you the detachment you need to not care about the things that do not matter so you can enjoy your life and find the peace that you need. :praying:

So, That's How The New York Times Framed the ICE Ambush in Minneapolis Last Night

That's how Minnesota framed the 'ICE ambush'...

ICE agent charged in nonfatal shooting of Venezuelan immigrant in Minneapolis

The federal agent, Christian Castro, was charged with four counts of second-degree assault and one count of falsely reporting a crime in the Jan. 14 shooting of Julio Sosa-Celis, according to the Hennepin County attorney.

ICE agent charged in nonfatal Minneapolis shooting arrested in Texas

Agents with the Department of Homeland Security Office of the Inspector General agents and Texas Rangers carried out the arrest Friday morning with Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigators present at the scene, according to the Hennepin County attorney.

The Minnesota investigators had located Castro and traveled to Texas this week, the attorney said.

Moriarty's office said Friday that the state charges are "likely to result in an attempt to 'remove' this case to federal court."

"Should a judge grant removal, it will still be prosecuted by HCAO attorneys, under Minnesota Statute," the office said. "And should it end in conviction, it will be ineligible for presidential pardon."

Justice Department launches a criminal investigation into Trump accuser E. Jean Carroll

Okay, fine, let's call it full blown sexual assault then...
Gee, there's no need to go overboard. Give the guy a break why don't you.
If I had a daughter, and it happened, we'd be going directly to the police station to press charges, and not camping on the information until years down the road when a person is running for office.
And complain that some guy got handy with her? In actuality, the decision as to whether you tell the police will not be yours. In fact, the decision as to whether you are told will not be yours.

From here: Google Search

'According to national statistics on sexual assault : an estimated 8% of women who experienced sexual assault said the police were contacted about the most recent incident, either by themselves or others. the majority (92%) of women who experienced sexual assault did not report the incident to the police.'

Do you know why? Even the terms that you use would indicate that you don't.

Will Chuck Schumer be primaried by his own party?

We can add to the list, though patriarchy might be subsumed under Christian Nationalism.
While A does not necessarily imply B, B absolutely implies A.

James Fishback’s Very Weird Groyper Wedding

FAR-RIGHT FLORIDA GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE James Fishback tried his boldest campaign gambit yet on Saturday: getting married in a Catholic church to a mystery woman he met just a few months ago.

By Wednesday, the honeymoon already appeared to be over. At a press conference, Fishback urged his new wife to take the stage to answer questions, saying he expected one about her perfume. But when he realized instead that the question was about education policy, he told his bride to step away.

“Stand there and look good,” Fishback said, nudging his wife to back off. Who says romance is dead?

In an email, Fishback told me he met his wife at a Miami bookstore. They started dating three months ago, he said, adding that they connected in part over a desire to marry quickly instead of slogging through “the modern culture of mindless dating.”
When this appeared online on the weekend (or monday, I forget). This twerp was claiming he met, completed his priestly instruction on the proper use of a wife (or whatever it is the never married marriage counselors talk about to couple prior to marriage), and got married in an actual Catholic church. Nobody bought at all. Last I remember the "banns of marriage" had to be published for at least one Sunday before a wedding could take place.

Students for Donald leader arrested for assaulting girlfriend

Students For Trump Co-Founder Arrested On Domestic Violence Charges <<AGAIN>> , Allegedly Yelled “Do You Want To Die Today?”

Ryan Fournier, the co-founder and chairman of the group Students for Trump, was arrested early Tuesday morning in Washington, D.C., after he allegedly assaulted and threatened a woman, according to documents obtained by Defector. The Metropolitan Police Department charged Fournier with simple assault and attempted threats to do bodily harm.

[Witness] reported that he heard [Fournier] screaming, "Don't touch me, woman!", "Do you want me to crush your head in with this lamp?". [Witness] returned to the office where [Fournier] was swinging a handheld vacuum around, screaming at [Victim]. [Witness] got between the two attempting to separate both parties. [Witness] said that he went to the bathroom and heard [Fournier] yelling, "Do you want to die today?" [Victim] ran into the bathroom, and according to [Witness], "looked like she had been punched in the face." [Witness] called 911, and [Fournier] left the apartment, during this time [Victim] said to [Witness], "Don't let him stab me."

BONUS TIDBIT: The other co-founder of Students for Trump, John Lambert, was not long for the game. In 2019, he pleaded guilty to charges of wire fraud, and in 2021, a judge sentenced him to 13 months in prison. According to the Associated Press, Lambert had used an alias on the internet to present himself as an attorney, bilking "at least six individuals and corporations" out of thousands of dollars. At the time, Lambert's lawyer said Fournier was a co-conspirator, but he cooperated to avoid prosecution.

[As for the case in the OP...] those charges were dropped at a court hearing that December.

City bans ads for meat, fossil fuels in Climate Change Agenda

Without getting into the ethical pros and cons of Amsterdam's policy, the Dutch would have a very real interest in rising sea levels as a result of climate change.

It's interesting you mention that. There's a series on Netflix about the same and the country had to be evacuated because the water's rising. I watched it last year and it felt very eerie and there was a sense of foreboding. I wondered more than once if it was going to occur and the film was a heads up of sorts.

Why people shouldn`t discuss things

Your consensus is incorrect and sex isn't divorced from their emotional or physical interests. I lived in boys town during my teens and assure you it's otherwise. We had bathhouses and leather culture and pda as well. There was a time when many of my female friends were bisexual and they weren't intellectualizing their same sex attractions.

Redistricting--Even Worse Than I Feared

In California redistricting, pro-MAGA town likely to get a gay, liberal congressman

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California, May 29 (Reuters) - Huntington Beach, the right-leaning California city that banned the Pride flag from City Hall and elected a city council of MAGA supporters, is heavily favored to get a new Democratic congressman who is gay, progressive and an outspoken critic of U.S. President Donald Trump.
It's a result of redrawing congressional districts. A flurry ‌of redistricting was touched off when Trump pushed states, starting with Texas, to come up with voting maps favorable to his Republican Party. With control of the U.S. House of Representatives ‌at stake in November's elections, heavily Democratic California countered the Texas redistricting, with voters approving a plan that targets five Republican seats. --OUCH

Tofu

Hi! Does anyone like to make tofu?
If so, how do you like to make it?
I have been searching for alternative protein aside from beef that is filled with a lot of iron!
I haven't made soybean tofu, but red lentil tofu is pretty easy - and delicious! A lot of recipes say just two ingredients - red lentils and water, but really, salt makes it better and nutritional yeast better still.

Italian Bishop Tells Catholics To Evangelise Muslims

Bishop Antonio Suetta says welcoming Muslim migrants should include an invitation to embrace Christianity.

A Catholic bishop in northern Italy has called on Christians to actively evangelise Muslims living in Europe, warning that believers must not “hide” their faith in the face of rising migration and secularisation.

In a pastoral letter issued on the feast of Pentecost, Bishop Antonio Suetta of Ventimiglia-San Remo argued that welcoming Muslim migrants should go hand-in-hand with openly proclaiming Christianity, insisting that salvation comes only through Jesus Christ.

The letter, titled There Is No Greater Love Than This, was issued ahead of a new diocesan initiative aimed specifically at outreach to Muslims living in the region near the French border, an area heavily affected by immigration in recent years.

Drawing inspiration from St. Francis of Assisi’s famous meeting with the Sultan during the Crusades, Suetta said Christians should approach Muslims with “charity” and “respect,” but without abandoning missionary zeal or diluting Catholic teaching.

The bishop repeatedly stressed that Christians have a duty to convert non-Christians, including Muslims now living in Europe. While acknowledging that Muslims worship “one God” and share some moral values with Christians, he argued that Islam and Christianity ultimately present radically different understandings of God.

2nd murder charge filed against pastor in case of missing former congregant

Darryl Muzik Martin, pastor of His Way Spirit Led Assemblies in Colton, California, has joined his wife, Shelley Bailey “Kat” Martin, in facing a second murder charge for the death of a congregant who went missing in 2023 after he left their religious group.

In December 2025, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office announced the arrest of Martin, 58, his now 63-year-old wife, and 44-year-old group member, Rudy Moreno.

The arrests were tied to the alleged murder of Emilio Ghanem, 40, who went missing in 2023, and the alleged 2010 murder of 4-year-old Timothy Thomas. Arrests were also made in relation to firearms.

Most churchgoers say clergy talk about politics, social issues from the pulpit, survey finds

Abortion, Israel and homosexuality top list, researchers say

Even when the presidential election isn't on the ballot, American churches can serve as active forums for political and social commentary, according to a new survey released Wednesday comparing how Protestants and Catholics approach controversial issues in the pulpit.

Among U.S. adults who attend religious services at least once a month, two-thirds (66%) report that their clergy has discussed at least one political or social issue in the past few months, according to a Pew Research Center survey of 1,391 respondents conducted April 6 to 12. Abortion, Israel and homosexuality were listed as the most frequently mentioned topics.

Catholics and white Evangelicals are particularly likely to hear comments about abortion, while white Evangelicals are more likely to encounter frequent discussions of homosexuality at church.

Catholics report higher levels of discussion on immigration, with 15% hearing calls to welcome and support immigrants compared to just 3% hearing advocacy for stricter enforcement. Both Catholics and most Protestant groups hear more about protecting the environment (15%) than opposing regulations (3%). White Evangelicals, however, are less likely to hear environmental topics (about 13%) than other Christian groups (around 25%).

On sex and gender issues, 15% of regular attenders heard messages opposing transgender identity, while only 3% heard calls for acceptance. White non-Evangelicals proved to be the sole exception, researchers said.

Priest charged with stealing $160K from former church

A Catholic priest has been charged with felony theft for allegedly stealing roughly $160,000 from his former parish, with the alleged financial misconduct coming to light after he resigned amid a separate criminal investigation.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas announced in astatement Saturday that Father Richard Storey surrendered to the Leawood Police Department on a level 5 felony theft charge tied to his time as pastor of Cure of Ars Catholic Church in Leawood, where he formerly served as pastor.

“This news is deeply painful for all of us in the Catholic community, particularly given the nature of the allegations involving resources entrusted to the Church through the sacrifice and generosity of the faithful,” Archbishop Shawn McKnight said in a statement in response to the allegations against Storey. “My primary concern at this time is for the people of Cure of Ars parish and all those directly affected.”
