And in Catholic theology God's favor includes more than forgiveness but also the "gift of righteousness", sancitification being the continuation, outworking, growth in that gift rather than a totally separate act. And either way Romans 6:22 and elsewhere point to the fact that sanctification is necessary in order to gain eternal life. IOW, we must be holy, not only forgiven. Is that sanctification automatic for a true believer? I don't think so, going by experience, for one thing. We must make the effort: Heb 12:14. But the power, the strength, the Holy Spirit, is now there.

We must come out from among them….the churches of men (their “denominations”)… where they are keeping and serving their handwritings of ordinances which have been engraved by their “scribes”. They are white-washed “sepulchers” that we are to come out of.

We must not be attached to a “dead body” of people. This is our sanctification to come out from among them and be separate. This is the “holy” commandment….to be separate for our sanctification.

What agreement has the temple of God with “idols”…that is, images? He will not give His glory to those who are serving images.

Their handwritings…their statements of faith, their church constitutions, their by-laws, statutes, etc… are “images” of things that the outside men of this world have to self-govern themselves rather than have God govern them.

(16) And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols (IMAGES)? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Why exchange His glory for the keeping and serving of “images” made like the outside world’s self-governing documents?

The man-based churches of men do not have the glory of God appear over them as they are exchanging His glory for the keeping and serving of their images. They are “desolate” of His glory because of the abomination….their church handwriting of ordinances that they keep.

They do not “shine” in this dark world as they are themselves in the darkness as professing themselves to be wise...their foolish hearts were darkened .

Why reckon that Christ is among them…among the transgressors?

He is not “here” in the grave of the man-based churches.

He is RISEN NOW so that we might have His life now….appearing in our mortal bodies (the revealing of the Son of man.)

(5) And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
(6) He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

He is risen so that we might have His appearing life now in our mortal bodies.

But we must follow Him....go quickly... out of the graves of man-based (based on their handwritings of ordinances) and go into “Galilee”…the circle of the gentiles…that is, the outside world.

It is there that we shall “see Him” as His life shall then be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

(7) And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

We are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling….with fear and great joy...quickly departing from the grave of man-based churches and tell others the good news: He is risen.

(8) And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

But do not fear of the persecutions that we shall endure for leaving them behind.

The man-based churches shall persecute us for leaving…but we are not to be afraid of them as we tell others to also go into “Galilee” so that they may see Him….His appearing life in their mortal flesh so that they may shine in this world….to the people of the outside world who are sitting in deep spiritual darkness.

Jesus instructs us to go and tell His brothers…..other Christians who are also entombed in the churches of earthly-minded men…to also go into “Galilee”…the outside world so that they may see Him.

(10) Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

We are to be conformed to the image of His Son…who is the firstborn among MANY brothers.

(28) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
(29) For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

He calls us out and justifies us and glorifies us as then the glory of God can appear over us so that the outside world (Galilee) may see His glory.

(30) Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

See the place where the Lord lay?

We are His body…the temple of His body. He/we made our grave with the wicked and rich (man-based churches) in His DEATHS (plural) as they are preventing the manifest life of Jesus from ever appearing in the mortal flesh of their congregations who are in their “grave.”

(9) And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death (DEATHS); because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
