  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why did God send Lucifer down to earth?

He caused a lot of angels to fall too...
'You can be like God...'
Was his own thing and of course, he knew that line of thinking would work on humans too.
Except humans didn't have the knowledge of the Lord as angels do.
He left us redeemable.

But with the choice, the separation to KNOW GOOD AND EVIL...
Otherwise we would not know good and evil if evil wasn't going to present itself.

‘American Idol’ Will Host ‘Songs of Faith’ Episode on Easter Featuring CeCe Winans, Brandon Lake, and Jelly Roll

Usually, I'm not a fan of this show. However, I do believe that I am going to watch this episode.
I used to watch that show obsessively until they moved from Fox.

Good childhood memories!

Menopause Rhapsody-Bohemian Rhapsody Parody!

Thank you joymecry. I've been busy recently but try to pop in to CF now and then. :)

Yes, I loved the Catsody and most of Shirley Serban's songs.

For those who don't know her, she re-lyrics songs and did many during the pandemic to cheer us up.

500 Million-Year-Old Human Footprint Fossil Baffles Scientists

^^^ (link)

I'll tell you what I think. I think the so-called "scientific experts" don't know half of what they'd like us all to *believe* they know. The most knowledgeable, well-informed, well-educated scientists in the world are really standing on a low island in the middle of a sea of ignorance; and any evidence that comes along which challenges their erudite theories, they deal with by airily dismissing them.

EXPLORER: "Here: I found a human footprint from 500 million years ago!"
SCIENTIST: "Impossible. Human beings didn't exist 500 million years ago."
EXPLORER: "Then how do you explain this concrete evidence?"
SCIENTIST: "I don't have to explain it. Human beings didn't exist 500 million years ago."
EXPLORER: "Apparently they must have---this is solid proof, right here in my hand!"
SCIENTIST: "That proves nothing. Human beings didn't exist 500 million years ago."
EXPLORER: "I am presenting you with evidence that says otherwise."
SCIENTIST: "I don't care *what* evidence you present. I will not accept it, because human beings didn't exist 500 million years ago."

And 'round and 'round we go.

Personally, I think this conundrum can only be reasonably explained in one of three ways:

1. Human beings have been around a lot longer than science believes.
2. The dating systems used by science are radically flawed.
3. Sometime in the future, mankind will develop time travel, allowing humans to go backwards 500 million years and leave their footprints behind.

I favor #2, myself; #1 might have some merit as well. #3, I have my doubts. But there we are.
Except this didn't "baffle scientists", nor did they not offer explanations. The video omits mentioning the fact rebuttals were offered decades ago, as only a little searching will quickly cover (and those rebuttals were not just saying "I don't have to explain it. Human beings didn't exist 500 million years ago.")

For example:

Heck, Wikipedia even has an article on it:

The video not addressing, or even mentioning, these points shows either a lack of research on their part or perhaps they deliberately concealed it in order to make a more provocative video.

Should a Christian turn themselves in for minor crimes committed before being saved? (Mostly answered but you can still reply if you want)

I've been thinking about this and I wonder, should I turn myself in for crimes I committed before coming to Christ...
Nah, you were born again when you became a Christian, so the old 'you' doesn't exist any more..:)
Like many teenagers, me and my mates used to do shoplifting, I regret doing it but I put it down to just a phase I was going through, so it's ancient history now my 'punishment' is the remorse I feel.

I Need Prayers and Advice to Find a Godly Wife

You have no idea about what's going on here. You just know what the Western and Zionist media is presenting to you.

And one of the greatest evidences that you have no idea, is that you are comparing Lebanese Shiites to Syria's extremist jihadists who are a very extremist branch of Sunnis, and they are enemies of Hezbollah. Hezbollah has protected Syrian Christians from these terrorists in the past. But now Israel is fighting against Hezbollah and strengthening the hand of those terrorists. You need to be here to know these things.

And you have no idea what Israel is doing to Christians. Watch the following video; this is in Lebanon:

And here is a video from Jerusalem:

And coming to theology: If you stand with the terrorist Zionist state called "Israel" and you approve of its atrocities, then you are against Christ and you know nothing of Christian love.

I explained all this just to make things clear. But our topic is not politics. I am praying for a godly wife: please, pray with me and for me, and please, give me biblical advice, not worldly and/or political advice.
My heart grieves with you over these atrocities. Yet, I believe these videos do not reflect the true heart of Israel or the spirit of Zion, the City of David. They are not only against Christ but also against Israel, their homeland, even more. May you find the wife you seek, one who brings peace and joy to your life and bless you. The Israel of King David is Rising. :)

A Closer Walk with Jesus

A closer walk with Jesus
In His word instructing me
Teaching me why Jesus died
Upon that cruel tree

Showing me of His great love
And of His sacrifice
For me to be free of my sins
Is why He gave His life

For when He died upon that tree
He put my sins to death
So I can die with Him to sin
And walk in righteousness

His commands I must obey
Live daily now for Him
Seeking His will for my life
And not my light go dim

A servant to Him I must be
Now walking in His ways
Ministering love and grace
To others day by day

For this is why He gave me life
So I would live for Him
And be His servant, share His love
So others live for Him

Ben Shapiro: What The Hell Happened on LIBERATION DAY?!

I remember when the trope was all these workers were abandoned in the country where they were stationed. They had plenty of time to get their possessions together and ship them back to the US. They also had plenty of time to get their finances together for international banking (which I'm surprised none of them had).
I'm sure many did. But in some countries you have to go to the bank in person to get your money. It can be worked out, but might take months. In the meantime, you're standing in front of Dulles airport with no money, no job, no home and a President telling the world that you're a criminal.
They were not hunted down and they had more time than hours.

So which was it? They were abandoned or were they hunted down and forced onto airplanes within hours.
It varied quite a bit, depending on how far out of the capital they lived, whether there was currently civil unrest, etc. Some will have stayed--in fact I know a couple who did, in likely anticipation of picking up a job with another country's aid agency. Oh, it will all work out in the end. People who do jobs like that have to be able to adapt quickly to new situations. But the whole thing was unnecessarily cruel and abrupt--I think intentionally. Is the threat of "woke" so dire and immediate that these people had to be subject to what amounted to an emergency evacuation before they were fired?

Sinful Addictions

Challenges of your mood should not cause discouragement. That is God allowing you to be tested because He thinks you can handle it.
If you are aware of it, the trials get easier and your burden lightens even when the trials get more intense.
If you aren’t aware of it and take the poor Me attitude why does God hate me cry position, you will be overwhelmed and backslide easily

Remember the verse from Job. Blessed is the man whom God chastises, for He smites but He binds up, He wounds but His hands give healing

In the New Testament it is encouragement that God chastises those whom He loves. If you are not chastised then ye a bastards and not sons

Now we do not go out seeking chastisement, but if we receive it, we reflect on why we deserve it and do not blame others or worse blame God.
Consider Psalm 95

Come let us praise the Lord with joy: let us joyfully sing to God our saviour.
2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving; and make a joyful noise to him with psalms.
3 For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
4 For in his hand are all the ends of the earth: and the heights of the mountains are his.
5 For the sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
6 Come let us adore and fall down: and weep before the Lord that made us.
7 For he is the Lord our God: and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand.
8 To day if you shall hear his voice, harden not your hearts:
9 As in the provocation, according to the day of temptation in the wilderness: where your fathers tempted me, they proved me, and saw my works.
10 Forty years long was I offended with that generation, and I said: These always err in heart.
11 And these men have not known my ways: so I swore in my wrath that they shall not enter into my rest

Always obey God, even if you get chastised, stay true and give Him praise suffer willingly in humility and in secret and He rewards you openly
I have been chastised myself and endured it, and He gives me His grace which is worth more than what I lost
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement.

Catholic bishops end refugee partnership with government amid Trump funding cuts

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has made what it is calling the “difficult decision” to not renew cooperative agreements with the federal government amid policy changes from President Donald Trump’s administration to cut funding from refugee programs.

“While this marks a painful end to a life-sustaining partnership with our government that has spanned decades across administrations of both political parties, it offers every Catholic an opportunity to search our hearts for new ways to assist,” USCCB President Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio said in an April 7 statement.

The archbishop wrote that the funding cut “forces us to reconsider the best way to serve the needs of our brothers and sisters seeking safe harbor from violence and persecution.”

For about four and a half decades, the USCCB partnered with the federal government to provide services that help resettle refugees and support minors who entered the country without a parent or guardian or are separated from their families.

Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts Indefinitely BLOCKS Court Order Requiring Return of Alleged El Salvadoran MS-13 Gang Member

If the Supreme Court does not put an end to rogue lower court justices giving orders to the elected president of the United States then Congress will have to pass legislation.

Most immigrants vulnerable to deportation identify as Christian: report

There are a lot of assumptions being swept under the rug when appealing "right thing." Some of these things would actually make it the wrong thing to do.

For example, let's assume a young couple (~25-ish) came to the US illegally from Venezuela with a newborn. They've lived merger existence in the US for 10 years. The only country their child has known is the US. They do not have the funds to setup a new life in Venezuela. If they self-deport and get that free ride home, now what? They end up on the streets with their 10 years child. And yet, that's the "right thing to do."

I can't agree with the line of thinking that hurts people like that.

The problem is not as simplistic as you've made it.
Actually, I agree with you that being deported (or self-deporting) can pose hardships on those who are deported. That makes allowing tens of millions of people to come here illegaly over a couple decades even worse than it otherwise would be.
