Jesus said to the Jews that opposed Him "you are of your father the devil" but to those who accepted in "My sheep hear My voice".So, I just started studying with a Book called A Divine Tapestry by Ryan M. McGraw. It is a great book summarizing each chapter of the Bible and providing memory verses for each chapter... but,
His opening summation of Genesis is,
"God covenants with fallen human beings, promising to undo the ruin Satan brought on the human race, dividing mankind into the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent."
So is the "seed of the serpent" a category of humans in existence today? Does this reflect upon a certain number of people? Are their minions out for ....
Okay, I'm laughing at myself for suggesting this,
but then, are the non-saved considered the seed of the serpent? Is the author referring to the human race before the flood? Or is this simply a part of being in the state of not being able to justify ourselves before God (aka, depravity)?
Heaven will sort out a lot of things 1 Cor 13 now we see in a glass darkly , but then on that future day all things will made clear to usHi everyone
I have a general question about heaven. A few years ago, I had an argument with a family member I care a lot about, where she was really upset with me, and I think she misunderstood one comment I made and my meaning/intention. We mostly sorted everything out between us, but that was one thing I didn't explain fully.
My question is, do you think any misunderstanding about it, from her side, will be made clear and my true intention will be known, so she no longer has any possible hurt feelings about it, when we are in heaven?
Sorry if I am asking what seems like a simple question, but I am struggling a lot with anxiety over it at the moment, so would just appreciate any help from anyone.
Thank you do much
The types of food seen in that video are not what's being brought into Gaza. Nonperishable items like flour, rice, sugar, oil, and some ready-to-eat meals are what's on the aid trucks. The food in that video wasn't stolen from trucks entering Gaza.Yes there is a ton of evidence. Hamas themselves have said as much. There is a viral video of Hamas militants in tunnels eating stolen food.
I cannot speak for them. My best suggestion is to look up what Father Gabriel Romanelli has stated about the subject as well as Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa. I’m sorry I could not be of more help but I think it’s best to go to the sources that can speak for the Holy Family Parish.Because they are in a war zone... because Hamas wont give up. If they Choose to stay, they are choosing whatever may happen. I don't understand this??? There are still hostages they are imprisoning, and starving.
I was thinking more of them as competitors in the "bribe receiving game".Because they are Cabinet members, they don't need to bribe anybody to influence government policy in their favor.
That's the way these things normally play out.Soon the will be fired or resign and then write a book about her dismal experience.
Hi there! I hope you are doing well!Just a heads up... but I quietly started attending Episcopal churches in the area. The heat around opposition to LGBT issues is dying down in the diocese, as the memory of the early 2000's General Convention fades and organizations like the ACNA and GAFCON lose salience. They still aren't onboard with ordaining gay priests, but there are more people now attending who are openly gay. I suspect the marginal attitude has shifted towards a quiet acceptance. Not to say there are no holdouts with firmer opposition, but it sees to be mostly in the hands of a few. And that's good enough for me.
My experience in the UCC has been that people are sincere, but that's not good enough in today's environment. The Puritan ethos that made that kind of Protestantism work is increasingly broken in a media-saturated, hyper-capitalist society.
I'm still attending coffee hour to get a sense of fellowship, and I volunteer at the food pantry and thrift store, but I am increasingly feeling like the worship isn't good for the fragile state I realize I am in. I don't need a church that reflects a certain kind of discourse rooted primarily in saturating Christianity with quasi-political slogans or poorly written but "acceptable" language. I need more grounded faith than that.
