Nafiah Ikram was in the driveway of her home on New York’s Long Island one evening when she felt someone rush up behind her. A liquid splashed her in the face.

That’s a good argument. It is possible that if the US would have lifted the embargo back in the 60’s that maybe it would have turned up differently. In fact, if Kennedy would have received Castro as a head of state maybe Castro would not have asked the USSR for help and communism never would have taken hold. Lots of ifs though.

What Karis Nemik means is that oppressive systems cannot pause. If repression slows, people notice it, analyze it, and begin to resist. Therefore, the regime must increase the tempo of control, punishment, and intrusion. As the pace accelerates, oppression becomes normalized through sheer volume -- atrocities blur together and lose individual salience.

But if oppression survives by speed, that same speed guarantees its eventual failure. Speed leads to overreach, overreach produces mistakes, mistakes create visible injustice, which fuels resistance.

“Mortal” = (of living beings, esp human beings) subject to death.

Being “mortal” means we are subject to death but are still living. A “mortal” has not died but is subject to death.

We are to be changed from “mortal” (our body which had not died) to immortal at the “last trump”….which is the last day of this age. We will have had an age-lasting life in this mortal body until then. This change is the "redemption of the body" that we are to earnestly expect. We do not mortally die while we WAIT for it.

Those Christians who had mortally perished (the “corruptible”) shall then be raised unperishable. They mortally died but because they believed in Christ, they will be resurrected AT the last day of this age. In the meantime, they are considered "asleep" because their death is only age-lasting for God will bring them back with Christ at the resurrection of the dead.

We have 2 groups (the dead and the living) of Christians being talked about here in 1 Corinthians 15.

The “dead” who mortally perished shall be resurrected AT the last day unperishable (the resurrection of the dead) and the “living” who had not mortally died (having an age-lasting life until then) who shall be changed from mortal to immortal.

The living were “mortal”….being subject to death but still living (having an age-lasting life) until that moment.

(52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
(53) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

When the living….the mortals who had an age-lasting life…are changed into immortal, they will be no longer “subject to death” as death shall be swallowed up in victory.

(54) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
(55) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

While we have an age-lasting life, we are to be earnestly desiring for this mortal body to be clothed with immortality. We will then be clothed upon with our house which is OUT of heaven (because we will still be here in this earth for the next coming age) We shall then no longer be “subject to death” as death shall then be completely swallowed up of life. There will then be no possibility at all to die. The possibility is there as long as we are still “mortal” while we have an age-lasting life. (Matthew 10:28 )

(2) For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from (OUT OF) heaven:
(3) If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

In this tabernacle we do groan. We want our “mortality” to be swallowed up of life. Notice death is not mentioned here at all as this applies to the living who have an age-lasting life.

(4) For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
(5) Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

We are given the earnest of the Spirit while we wait for the redemption of our mortal bodies.

Being at “home in the body” applies to being mortal. To be present with the Lord applies to being made immortal.

(6) Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
(7) (For we walk by faith, not by sight)
(8) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

IF…IF…..IF (a conditional particle) our earthly house this tabernacle is dissolved, we have a building of God AGE-LASTING IN the heavens. Those who perish in their mortal bodies are given an AGE-LASTING home IN the heavens where they die and go to. It is only AGE-LASTING ...and it is IN the heavens and not OUT of the heavens a mentioned 2nd Corinthians 5:2 .

(1) For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal (AGE-LASTING) in the heavens.

IF our earthly house (our mortal body( is dissolved, it is only AGE-LASTING as the corruptible will be raised incorruptible at the end of this age. Those whose earthly house were dissolved shall be brought with Him at the end of this age. They are only “asleep” as they have departed from this earth for the duration of this age. Those who sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him back to earth and given a body as determined by Him. They will be resurrected AT the last day of this age...being given a body as determined by Him. 1 Corinthians 15:38 .

Concerning them which are "asleep" = those believers in Christ who mortally perished. They believed in Christ but were led astray by false prophets to their mortal deaths.

(13) But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
(14) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

We “which are alive and remain” are the “living” who will never die throughout this age unto the coming of the Lord. They will remain here in this earth until the resurrection of the dead who had mortally perished.

(15) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

Christ BOTH died and rose and revived so that He might be Lord of BOTH the dead (those who Christians who mortally perished…who “sleep” in Him) and the living…..those who will NEVER DIE mortally but will live to the very end of this age where they will be changed from mortal to immortal (the redemption of the body).

(7) For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
(8) For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

Those who are alive and remain....the living.... WAIT here in this earth until the redemption of their body….the change from mortal to immortal. We do NOT DIE while we wait for the redemption of our mortal bodies.

(23) And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

We are sealed in this mortal body....the earnest...UNTO the day of redemption which happens at the very end of this age. We have an age-lasting life until then. We shall never die until we are changed from mortal to immortal thereby circumventing death completely in Christ.

Since the ruling, Hernandez said, his father no longer has to wear an ankle monitor or check in with federal immigration officials. The ruling also means he’ll be able to get his bond money back.

It puts a lot of pressure on her and bringing God into it only makes it worse. Be careful about attributing things to Him aloud. Sometimes we have to hold things within out of respect for other parties or confirm our suspicion.

When the Lord wants us to reveal something it's exact. He spells it out. But there are other instances when the Holy Spirit nudges us in a direction and we'll have bits and pieces but not the whole picture. Sometimes we see in the spiritual but the things we observe have a time and season. Speaking about them too soon can cause problems.

Your excitement was understandable but that's the soul not the spirit and we must lead with the latter. In respect to her womb what have you done about it on a spiritual level and your end as well? We can discuss that if you'd like.

I've actually been talking about it with Michie. We've been friends ever since she was a mod here back in the mid 2010s or so and she's known the news ever since it happened. But yes, I would love to talk about it with you. The more I've been talking about it since we discovered it happened the easier its been coping with the loss. I actually talked to a crisis therapist about it last night too and one of the questions she asked me was "What is the most important thing to you? What means more to you than anything else in the whole world?"

And I was like "You don't want the honest answer." And she was like "Yes I do." and I was said simply "Jesus." and she was absolutely NOT expecting that answer. But she was like after that "That's a great answer... of course I wanted the honest answer." Anyway... ill private message you in a minute, I just woke up a short while ago and need a few minutes to wake up.

Let’s break this down biblically. Who is God? He is Father, Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit, our triune God. He always was and he always will be. And Jesus Christ always was God, and he was with God in the beginning, and all things which were made were made by him. Jesus is our creator God. And Jesus Christ left his throne in heaven, came to earth, was born as a human baby to a virgin woman (Mary), but was conceived of the Holy Spirit, so he was not born with a sin nature as we are. And all the time Jesus lived on the earth he was God incarnate (God made flesh) who lived among the people.

God so loved.. This word “love” means “to prefer,” “to choose,” “to prefer to love,” which is centered in moral preference and in what God prefers, which is all that is holy, just, morally pure, righteous, godly, honest, faithful, and obedient to his commands. This is the kind of love he had/has for the people of the world, that they/we would, by faith in Jesus Christ, live holy lives, pleasing to God, living morally pure and upright lives for the glory of God. From the source of this love he sent Jesus Christ to put our sins to death with him so by faith in him we will now die to sin and obey our Lord.

God gave us his only begotten Son (conceived of the Holy Spirit, birthed of a virgin woman), in his life, death, resurrection, and ascension back to heaven, where he then sent the Holy Spirit to indwell his followers, that whoever believes in him… that whoever (actively, ongoing) believing in him…which is continuous, active faith, ongoing to the very end… a faith which means to be persuaded, i.e. to be persuaded by God. And God persuades us as to his righteousness, and of our sinfulness, and of our need to die to sin and to now walk in obedience to our Lord, empowered by God.

So God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – loved us humans enough to send himself, in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world, in order that he would put our sins to death with him so that, by obedient (ongoing) faith in our Lord, and in the teachings of his word, via submission to him as Lord, we would now die with Christ to sin, and be raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as servants of the Lord in holy living in walks of obedience to him and to his commands. This is what it means to believe in Jesus, to have our lives belonging to God.

For Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

For by God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ, which is not of our own doing, we are crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to righteousness in walks of obedience to God’s commands. We are no longer to permit sin to reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires. For if sin is what we obey, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God (see Romans 6:1-23).
