Trump calls for Biden-appointed Fed Reserve Governor Lisa Cook to resign

Pulte’s referral to the Justice Department was cited as the basis for Cook’s firing, which she is challenging with a lawsuit filed by her high-profile lawyer Abbe Lowell. The attorney has previously represented Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and Hunter Biden, among others. Under law, Fed board members only may be fired “for cause”.

On Tuesday, Lutnick reacted to the news that Cook was challenging her termination, telling CNBC: “The crook always says, 'I'm not going anywhere.'"

That remark followed Lutnick online, where it grew new life on X as the president’s critics, including Gov. Gavin Newsom of California, pointed out that Lutnick was directly quoting Trump himself.

“Donald Trump: ‘I’m not going anywhere,’” the post quoted the president, citing a Wall Street Journal article.

“They have zero self awareness,” noted one user in response. Numerous others wrote: “Irony is dead.”

“She has not been convicted of any crime. She has not even been CHARGED with any crime. You know who HAS been found liable of real estate fraud by a court of law? Donald Trump. Thank you for your attention to this matter,” snarked Seth Magaziner, a Democratic representative from Rhode Island.

"If you burn a flag, you get one year in jail," President Donald Trump said as he signed executive orders in the Oval Office on Monday.

Can we compromise and burn all the confederate flags?
Well? I don’t like the confederate flag, but I’ve heard that some people from the south view it as a southern pride flag.

Have no idea how accurate that is.

I’m from the Midwest and seen it around here.

Don’t like it one bit.

No person can come to Christ by their own freewill !

“For this reason the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves. When he had begun to settle them, one who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him. But since he did not have the means to repay, his lord commanded him to be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and repayment to be made. So the slave fell to the ground and prostrated himself before him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.’ And the lord of that slave felt compassion and released him and forgave him the debt.
— Matthew 18:23-27

Would you say then the slave who pleaded to the king got his dept forgiven because the king saw a good quality in him?

Not at all! You are thankful having received mercy, which you know you didn't deserve.
Yes, you may boast of your good humble quality God doesnt see in the proud sinner, who is rebellious, then you boast of your confessing work. Confessing is a christian work 1 JJn 1:9

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

This is correct. Islam teaches that each prophet was given specific guidance and laws for the people of their time. With Muslims believing that Muhammad was the final prophet, they follow what is found in the Qur'an and Sunnahs to this day.

Below is the closest thing found in Islam to the Ten Commandments.

Say, “Come, let me tell you what your Lord has forbidden you: that you associate nothing with Him; that you honor your parents; that you do not kill your children because of poverty—We provide for you and for them; that you do not come near indecencies, whether outward or inward; and that you do not kill the soul which God has sanctified—except in the course of justice. All this He has enjoined upon you, so that you may understand.”

And do not come near the property of the orphan, except with the best intentions, until he reaches maturity. And give full weight and full measure, equitably. We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity. And when you speak, be fair, even if it concerns a close relative. And fulfill your covenant with God. All this He has enjoined upon you, so that you may take heed.
(Qur'an 151:152)

While it doesn't mention the Ten Commandments specifically, the Qur'an does acknowledge that God's law was given to Moses and the children of Israel through the Torah.

We gave Moses the Scripture, and made it a guide for the Children of Israel (Quran 17:2)

We gave Moses the Scripture, perfect for the righteous, and explaining everything clearly, and a beacon, and mercy, that they may believe in the encounter with their Lord. This too is a blessed Scripture that We revealed; so follow it, and be righteous, that you may receive mercy. (Quran 6:154-155)

“O Moses, I have chosen you over all people for My messages and for My Words. So take what I have given you, and be one of the thankful. And We inscribed for him in the Tablets all kinds of enlightenments, and decisive explanation of all things. “Hold fast to them, and exhort your people to adopt the best of them. (Qur'an 7:144-145)

...they have the Torah, in which is God’s Law... Yet they turn away after that. These are not believers. We have revealed the Torah, wherein is guidance and light. The submissive prophets ruled the Jews according to it, so did the rabbis and the scholars, as they were required to protect God’s Book, and were witnesses to it. (Qur'an 5:43-44)
Thanks for the info! I appreciate it! :)

... well, none of that's true in the slightest.

Proverbs 10:18 - The one who conceals hatred has lying lips, and whoever utters slander is a fool.

(Granted, this is libel since it's written, not slander. But six of one, half a dozen of the other)
In your close minded world view. Are you an xpert in the law? Why does nobody follow it. You Pooh Pooh me but I know what I’m talking about from a biblical perspective. Against such things there is no law. To call out one of our brothers who doesn’t speak the truth and sounds controlled by Satan. You won’t get your way forever. We have time on our side. Haven’t you heard Elon musk say we won’t make it fifteen years then where will all this money you’ve spent on telescopes and population control and education be. Did your mom grow you up to be dishonest. Where is God with you anyway?

Some people view destruction of the American flag as a sign of contempt for the United States.

It’s sort of related to how some people view the confederate flag as un-American.
Can we compromise and burn all the confederate flags?

I Remember...

Ha ha. I remember there was one this guy in my friend group who elected to take home economics. Of course being teenage boys we felt obliged to tease him. "Are you gonna bake us some cookies today?" "You're going to make someone a good little wife someday." Stuff like that. Looking back, I would have benefited from taking it. It's not easy keeping a home.

Might the Laws of God actually change on the New Earth?

On the second part, Jesus has half brothers and sisters, including James.
So up until Jesus was born yeah, Joseph never consummated their marriage.
But after Jesus was born, I know that Catholics and some other denominations hold that they NEVER consummated their marriage but brothers and sisters doesn't really lead one to believe in perpetual virginity.

So to me, bad example.

You are assuming that they are half-siblings. Scripture doesn't tell you that they are Mary's children.

Might the Laws of God actually change on the New Earth?

But the Law did pass away as written in. Acts 28:25-28 and so does the book of Hebrews !!

dan p

The Law did not pass away.

In Christ there is a New Covenant, established in His blood; as such the Old Covenant is done away. But the Law is not abolished, but rather the fullness of the Law (rather than the mere external observances) is written in the heart.

We do not observe the Jewish Sabbath, because that was only for the Jews under the Old Covenant.
In the New Covenant we behold the true Sabbath, in the Person of Jesus Christ. Which is why in Hebrews we read that there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God--not a day of the week, but the Person of the Messiah; in whom we have our forever rest as we have been freed from the dreadful labor of sin and death; and further the commandment tells us about how we ought to treat our neighbor, and even our beasts of burden. For to love our neighbor and to be good stewards of creation means that we have a moral obligation to treat others and all creation justly--and that means times of respite.

As Christians, too, we remember the sanctity of rest, which is why we historically set time aside for worship--to come together in prayer, to hear the word, to celebrate the Holy Supper, and historically we do this at least once a week, on the Lord's Day.

Florida officials deny accusations of inhumane conditions at Alligator Alcatraz

No, I thought many of them walked through land that was dry and dusty, so this is news to me.
They went through places like that too. Heat index is high all over the place down there, and the way to handle it has been understood for thousands of years. It's nothing new, and it's not inhumane.

But you're saying that Southern California, New Mexico and Arizona are just like the Florida swamp?
"Just like"? I said nothing of the sort.

There are plenty of ways to die wandering around the wilds of any of the Gulf states or the American SW. Florida ain't unique in that.

It'd be extremely unlikely to run into a crocodile in that area, their range is closer to the coast. Alligators yes, snakes yes. So what?

It hasn't been a lifetime of air conditioning for me, so I surely do appreciate that I have it now, but heat compounded with humidity can kill.
How ever then did anyone survive such a place before they invented air conditioning? Heck, we didn't have a/c in the house at all until I was in junior high, so I guess my grandparents, my parents and I are all dead.

Everything you're complaining about could be said of any location in the world without significant change. Too hot, too cold, too dry, too wet, snakes, insects, coyotes, wolves, wild hogs, rivers to drown in, cliffs to fall off of... you're being absurd, and it looks like you really just want immigration law to be ignored.

Totally; I've never been to Florida.
You sound like you've never been outside.

If I may add, I don’t think Islam has the 10 commandments. They follow the Quran, not the Jewish Tanak or the Christian Bible, fwiw.

You have a penchant for doing the same things you accuse me of.

If you say so.

Woulda been nice if they had explained that, wouldn't it?

Their website does have an 'about us' page, and you could have looked for the information yourself using your precious AI Overview.

They always claim perfection after they make a mistake science does. They want the public’s trust and no worldly scientist is trustworthy. And you also are clearing out all recognition of God to make yourself infallible like the pope who is hard to believe. Behind closed doors is biblical and applies to all unsaved men. Anything but God’ could take many forms of expression including illegal, immoral , evil, lying. Not uncommon in today world.

My testimony.

It all started one night around 2:39am. Normally, if I was up at that time, I’d just be scrolling through TikTok watching funny or random things. But that night was completely different. Slowly, my For You page began to fill with Christian content—prayers, people preaching about repentance, testimonies of children seeing Jesus, warnings that the end times are near, worship songs, and people spreading the gospel. At first, I didn’t think much of it, but then something unusual happened: I started to cry. I couldn’t explain it because the normal reaction would have been just to watch and maybe praise God quietly, but tears began to roll down my face, and I even felt the urge to stand up and dance when a worship song came on.

This had never happened to me before. And it wasn’t just the content—it was the timing. I had recently made the decision to stop reading fanfiction and listening to secular music, and earlier that same day, I had even been curating a Christian music playlist for myself. Now here I was, in the middle of the night, unexpectedly overwhelmed with tears, praise, and conviction.

Then it hit me. I remembered how I had been praying for God to speak to me. Many times I had felt like I was just talking to myself in prayer—like I was pouring my heart out, but the days went by with nothing changing. I had prayed and prayed, asking God to talk to me the way I talk to Him. And now, out of nowhere, He did. That night was proof that God hears even when it feels like silence.

The craziest part is that I can’t even explain it away. I can’t say it happened just because I cut out fanfiction or secular music, because even before then—back when I was still lukewarm—God had given me dreams and visions. So, this encounter wasn’t about me earning it; it was about God’s grace.

For the first time in my life, I willingly stayed awake until almost 5am just watching testimonies, worship, and repentance videos, feeling driven in a way I’ve never felt before. And then, the very next day, when I opened TikTok again, there was nothing. Not a single trace of those Christian videos. It was as if that flood of content had only been meant for that one night—as if God had chosen that exact time to reach me.

Looking back, I realize I used to envy people who could share encounters with God, who had stories of visions, conviction, or special encounters that strengthened their faith. But now, it’s me. God chose to meet me personally, to answer my prayers in such a direct way, and to remind me that He is real, that He listens, and that He is calling me closer.

Then why are we having this conversation about something I'm allow to voice my opinion on?

You're the one who felt the need to ask a foolish question when the information you want is directly at your fingertips.

Especially ... lol ... in a thread titled:

European Southern Observatory Picture of the Week

Then starts out:

This image, taken with ESO’s Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile,

Because the group is headquartered in Europe, Germany to be precise, and it has its observatories in Chile because Chile has a lot of nice open deserts with a clear and unpolluted view of the sky.

Again: the information you want is directly at your fingertips.

Newsome pushed back against Democracy to achieve his political goals

Yard sign? I don't do those. Too many hateful people would vandalize my house where I live.
You see my point tho, right? I bet you (and 99.8% of America) dont even know who their electors are. They are participating to vote for the candidate.

Who's names are on your ballot, electors or actual candidates? This original idea of We The People having to select some wise men to go make that decision for us is stone cold dead.

Trump hiding heavily-bruised hand with makeup

Biden's physical health was okay. His cognitive health was the issue. Reagan was in great physical shape too.
I’m not saying Biden has Alzheimer’s or dementia, but personally the changes in his personality and speaking from 2008 until he was president in 2020-2024 are entirely obvious.

I just have to be intellectually honest.

And no, I’m not diagnosing him.

"If you burn a flag, you get one year in jail," President Donald Trump said as he signed executive orders in the Oval Office on Monday.

Yeah the expression part of flag burning should stay legal, if it can be done without actual harm.

Personally I would not protest that way. Not so much out of personal flag reverence, but out of respect for people who gave up a lot for what the flag is supposed to represent. It a symbol for that ideal, and wont ruin that in their faces.

By the same token I dont like seeing the flag burdened with other pet causes or interests, like putting guns on it or symbols of this group or that.
Well said!

I have NO IDEA whatsoever.

Then maybe you should keep quiet about things you don't know about. It'll wonders for you.

I don't know what they've done (or are doing) behind closed doors.

See, when you use the phrase 'behind closed doors', it really brings into question any sincerity you have about anything.

But until then, you want me to give them the benefit of a doubt, and I'm not going to.

And that's because I know what's coming:

Some more propaganda about "millions of years ago ..."

And no-one in the wider scientific community gives a toss about your myopic interpretation of the Bible, be they atheist or Christian.
