  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does God want men to choose easy options ?

Yes, I certainly agree that in matters like fossil fuels, recycling waste, etc., we should do what we can to prevent unnecessary pollution.
i assume you speak at an individual level. At collective one, men are seemingly just lacking strong will

WHAT DOE PAUL MEAN IN. ROM. 16:25 ??

And I do admit , where you. say Yeah. , I didn't think so did brother me , and all what Paul meant is. that he. is human. just

like the rest of all. of us , and Paul was CHOSEN. before he was. born to preach God's Gospel in. Rom 1:1. '

and whether you like it or not. Paul is the Apostle to the Gentiles whether anyone like him or NOT !!

dan p
As stated prior, no issues with Paul. My sights just take "all" of what Paul says more seriously. Places your position casts aside or ignores.

Here for example where Paul says in his mind he has, not had, every manner of concupiscent thoughts, prompted by the law, Romans 7:7-14. Paul never said this ceased to happen after salvation either. And it still happens within everyone, per Jesus, Mark 7:21-23, unless we're blind as a bat.

Here Paul said he did evil, present tense, not past tense: Romans 7:19

Here Paul said he had temptation in his flesh and a messenger of Satan in his flesh. Not hard to connect these two dots, temptation/tempter: Gal. 4:14, 2 Cor. 12:7. Again, those who claim this was near sightedness are in fact simply blind themselves to the obvious.

And the coup de grace for Paul was him claiming again present tense, to be the chief of sinners after salvation, 1 Tim. 1:15. Not was or used to be, but "I am."

Again, not hard to see that Paul was not just Paul just like none of us are just us, singular. We all engage temptation internally, and temptation is in fact of the tempter, the devil who deceives the whole world.

We all just have a real hard time being honest about the above is all. And understandably so. It hurts our pride to admit we are in fact still sinners. We like to pretend otherwise. Bad acting imho

Air Force to provide funeral honors to Ashli Babbitt

Depends on what you are doing. It certainly doesn't exclude it. If you were breaking in to my house in the US for example, yes, I do believe I'd have the right to shoot you. As the guard/police in the case of Babbitt, as she was breaking in. See what you tried to do there?
You immediately tried to conflate the issue, as if it was just about being part of a group or party or whatever, and not what she was doing. She was part of a mob trying to force their way in, trying to stop a lawful democratic process. The issue is in what she and that group were doing. But I can understand why you'd try to gloss over that.

She didn't back off. She was heading straight through. After being warned not to. With people those police were supposed to protect behind them. She wasn't quite a distance away, we literally have the link to the video showing her going through the breach in the door when she gets shot.

A bullet to the ceiling indoors? Yeah, let's just hope no one is up there and it's not a thin ceiling. You really have never had any firearms training, have you? They were already aware there was a gun and they'd been warned about what would happen if they tried to go through.

She is a traitor. Betrayed her oaths, very literally. Trying to disrupt and destroy the democratic processes that make one's country what it is, isn't patriotism. She was anything but.

... So? Doesn't matter what they believed, they'd still be wrong.

Now here's where you make a false claim. Trump CLAIMS he made that offer, but there is no evidence of it ever being made. His military leadership even confirmed there was no formal offer made. As to knowing much about guns I don’t but I sort think of such an old building being like an old Queenslander built of real sturdy stuff. But I don’t know that nor the guns power. Perhaps your right

I'm sorry, but... No. No as in, trying to paint a traitor who was killed in the middle of an insurrection attempt, as a patriot, is not "letting go". You're personally trying to fluff her up and make her into something that she's not. Lying about what she was and what happened, isn't letting love flourish.
7th keeper the false claims you say presidentTrump made that he never made the offer. Well he certainly did offer the national guard. Days before Trump had sent his acting defence secretary Christopher Miller and chief of staff Kash Patel they went to the Capitol police and secret service and law enforcement and mayor Bowser to seek the permission to send in thousands of national guards as reinforcements. They asked them directly do you want the national guard. All those mentioned said NO. Unless you want to call Miller and Patel liars in their testimony's. You must remember the law requires them to get permission all the way up to the house speaker. So President Trumps hands were tied when the answer came back NO. But he did ask . IMG_4094.jpeg As to Ashley climbing through the window I already stand corrected on that upon viewing some of the videos . Do read my post 89. As to a ballet in the ceiling as a warning shot perhaps your right I’m just going on the building being old and made of much sturdier stuff like old Queenslanders out here in Australia and no I don’t know much about guns nor the power or the caliber of the gun used. As to you continuing to label Ashley a traitor. Is it not enough the lady now lies 6 foot under. Yet you seem determined to show no mercy nor respect labeling her as a traitor I guess every soldier that marched at that protest you would label a traitor as well . That’s all I say. I cannot change you and only say that there is a very fine line between justice and mercy. ❤️

How does the idea that most of Gods creation he will have to burn forever bring glory to God?

Interesting.

I see nowhere in Scripture where any atonement is ever provided for the angelic host.
A holy angel wouldn't need atonement. Not saying how many can dance on the head of a pin tho.

And then there are wicked angels/messengers. And I agree with you that these bad actors didn't get atonement. Also for the record these particular angels including the devil are never stated in the scriptures to be "holy." There were not at one time holy and then fell.
Also, personally I’m not a proponent of universal human atonement either.
So, you don't want your sins counted against you, but too bad for the other people? I believe that spells hypocrisy.

Scripture speaks of the elect being the ones Christ died for. Those being predestined to election from the foundation of the world. None of us know who they are; other than we can know if we ourselves are elect. The only other thing that is stated about the elect is that they are represented of every kindred, tribe, tongue and nation.
I appreciate your determinist stance, but if you're old school Calvin you technically don't even know if you're an elect til it happens. In other words determinism didn't fall far from the freewill reasonable assurance tree, because they don't know either.
As far as universal atonement goes though; the major question it raises is if no one is condemned then what anyone believes is irrelevant, thus the preaching of the gospel becomes a moot point. Also with universal atonement, no one is required to repent either. (Which isn’t supported by Scripture either.) “…. Repent and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15)
That extension doesn't follow. There are numerous variations that can also address the above and not end up counting sins against people. Your position for example just automatically reverts to a "people sight only" position when Jesus showed us very clearly that devils occupy mankind. So did the Apostles.

So is everyone then saved? No. That attachment, their personal tempter package for every person will land in hell and there will be no adverse judgment to mankind for whatever beliefs they held. It all falls on the goats.

In any case the only thing that counts is faith working through love, Gal. 5:6, and I'd be hard pressed to say that there has been any human who has not, even in some slight way, loved, and as such know God and are born of God. 1 John 4:7

Christians would be better served to administer the benefit of the doubt for every person and understand we all bear the judgment of the devil and his messengers in our own sorry hides.

Does God want men to choose easy options ?

Hello Mr Lamb.

Yes, fortunetaly, burning fossil fuels is not a sin.

However, couldn't it be at least an equivalent of the eating the forbidden fruit, that is, something temptation stirs ?
I don't believe burning fossil fuels can be an equivalent of the eating the forbidden fruit, because the whole point of the matter of the fruit was that it was specifically forbidden by God:

““but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”” (Ge 2:17 NKJV)

There is no similar prohibition of using fossil fuels. As you say, it is not a sin, whereas eating the forbidden fruit was.
Indeed, even if God didn't explicitly forbid burning fossil fuels, men are aware of its noxiousness as regards its polluting effect.
Yes, I certainly agree that in matters like fossil fuels, recycling waste, etc., we should do what we can to prevent unnecessary pollution.

The principle of learning to work with one's hands to achieve independence and avoid dependency on others is rooted in biblical teaching
Hello Aaron,
i would reply the same as i replied Mr Lamb, as regards temptation, namely : isn't petrol stirring temptation for easy options whereas Jesus didn't give up before this temptation to make stone become bread, or to ask His Father for a legion of angels defending him on the cross

The bible does mention pollution, but is the pollution of sin, not of burning fossil fuels.

Indeed, even if God didn't explicitly forbid burning fossil fuels, men are aware of its noxiousness as regards its polluting effect.
Indeed also, it seems to me Adam and Eve were not in need of eating the fruit, and in a similar way, men are not in need of burning petrol

i mean : it's true they commonly pollute simply through the breathing, but the breathing is needed, as distinct from the burning fuel, and this pollution through the breathing is may be more tolerable for the Earth.
In a like manner, Man is neither in need of flying. Besides, he's got no wing

SecDef Hegseth Drafting 600 Military Judges to Clear Backlog of Immigration Cases.

I think it's great AND TOTALLY NORMAL that the doj changed the standard for being a temporary immigration judge just a week or two ago.

Just in time for this, totally normal announcement that follows policy.

I was gonna suggest teaching those judges to work construction instead since the industry is so dire.
Yes, I see that new judges now do not need immigration law experience. Sort of like having a dermatologist perform heart surgery. Some might do fine, others not so great. I can remember when my state who votes on local judges, instituted a requirement that they actually are a lawyer. That yes, there were times in some states in the USA where that was not required even until the 1990s. Where it might hurt though is if the judge is incompetent then I assume that appeals can be made?

Illinois Gov. Pritzker Says Chicago Is Safe As 35 Shot, 5 Dead Labor Day Weekend

Because blue cities, especially ones that have been permanently governed by democrat mayors for the last three decades are some of the most crime ridden. Trump didn't cause the crime problem, democrat policies did, and Trump is going to fix it. BTW, send the national guard to Wichita too.
Politicians with certain lax immigration policies are a factor in crime but there are others that are more influential. I don't blame the politicians, the people get what they voted for. So if they are soft on crime, then the citizens have given them their consent. I am glad every city is governed differently. You can always vote with your feet too if you do not like the taxes, crime, weather, schools etc.

Immigration is a federal enforcement issue, Trump is addressing that but everyday police work is for cops, not for the military. I support giving cities anything that is constitutional, reasonable and cost effective that will help them reduce crime. I am glad you would help red cities as well as those that are blue. When violent crime harms it's victims I don't think that a political party matters much.

"Factors Contributing to the Crime Decline
  • Better policing. ...
  • Waning crack cocaine demand. ...
  • Changing demographics. ...
  • More incarceration. ...
  • The economy. ...
  • Less cash. ...
  • Technology. ...
  • Private security."

US loses last perfect credit rating amid rising debt

Over the past two decades, I have consistently observed that when a Republican holds the presidency, liberal economists assert that the BRICS nations are strengthening and may soon challenge the dominance of the US dollar. Conversely, when a Democrat is in office, conservative economists make similar predictions.

The US dollar will remain the dominant global currency, as no other currency currently has the capacity to replace it.
Is that so? Does there HAVE to be a dominant currency? What about the Euro?

Your debt to GDP ratio is out of control - your debt interest payments are higher than your military payments.
And Trump just added far MORE debt rather than reducing it as he promised.

However, economic challenges arise in global trade. President Trump's policies have pushed US allies to develop new trade relationships among themselves and with former adversaries, often excluding the US.
Exactly.
And as they do so - this also can challenge the US dollar as the video explains.

For example, Canada and Mexico are seeking closer ties with China and Europe, while Brazil has signed a decade-long agriculture and beef deal with China, previously a US market. Similarly, tariffs on India have led it to cooperate more with China, once an adversary. President Trump will leave office in 2029, but these shifting trade alliances could endure for generations.
Exactly!

Because if America elected Trump twice - who is to say what comes next? As one NYT article put it - Abraham Lincoln himself could be re-elected and the world would still think "Hmmm, trust America? Hmmm, I think not."

Not only this - Trump's attack on clean energy and climate scientists has stimulated a massive brain drain. Many scientists could soon be leaving America - as in I've heard figures like 75%. Europe and China have hundreds of millions dedicated to scooping them all up! That kind of thing also takes decades to recover from!

Illinois Gov. Pritzker Says Chicago Is Safe As 35 Shot, 5 Dead Labor Day Weekend

I completely agree. These cities should raise taxes on their citizens to provide enough police presence to lower crime. The states could do the same to help. The truth is they dont want to do that. They will raise taxes for everything else. So many complain about not taxing the rich. Well do it then. Raise taxes on the rich and use that money to pay for police.
From what I read it might not be money but no one seems to want to be a cop in some of these places. I suppose raising the salaries would attract more talent, but likely they just need to lower the entry requirements as ICE has done.

Are we spiritual beings or just spiritually minded and/or spiritually filled?

It might be not a matter of fact at all - afaik, the Jews/Hebrews/Israelites are the ones who may be known in Scripture as the bride of Christ. Gentiles are not.
Were they all Jews at Ephisis ? May i refer back to Ephesians 5

You missed my point.
Jesus likened His snatching away of His bride are fairly clear points I'm making.
Remember the 20 virgins?

I agree wholeheartedly with Scripture.
Can you site Scripture to prove your claim that I am wrong?

Perhaps one of our Jewish Brothers or sisters in Christ could tells us what was customary at that time. See if a 7 day wedding where Christ and His church are wed holds water.

I think it matters when we see strong disagreements about a rapture at all.
As long as most of the teaching on "rapture" remains overwhelmingly fake/false/fairy tails
it is not a defining matter.
If someone is born again by the Father Everlasting Almighty, they are born again , as written.
If they are not , then nothing is able to save them, as written, no matter what they believe or think or do or what group they are "in" or members of (humanly speaking).
