I currently have assurance, but how long will it last?

I have wavered back and forth between thinking I am a Christian and thinking I am not. I now think I am saved. That is based on some things that occurred this morning, including reading a couple of Private Messages from John. I think I totally trusted Christ and He took me, like I asked Him to. Here's the deal with me: I have both religious OCD and wavering faith. Either one by itself generates severe doubt. The combination of the two has held me in the perfect storm. But now, I can say to my OCD, "Epheshians 1:13-14." I can say to my concern about my wavering faith, "John 1:17." The Ephesians passage says that when I trusted Christ I was sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise. The John verse says, "Every good and perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of Lights, in Whom there is no variation nor shadow of turning." Biblical doctrine says that Christ saves in a moment and He does not waver. My faith might waver, but He does not. Clinging to those two verses (among others, such as what John pointed out, John 6:37) and to that biblical doctrine, I understand He has me and will not let me go. If I doubt, I can go to some verses and biblical doctrine.

CNN ripped after trashing FBI as ‘juvenile’ for branding hate-fueled Colorado firebomb attack as terrorism

The backlash again Kayyem was swift on social media, with many pointing to footage of the horror that showed the terror suspect, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, screaming “Free Palestine” before he blasted a crowd who were commemorating the Israeli hostages still in Gaza.
“The guy shouted ‘Free Palestine’ while throwing fire bombs at a crowd of Jewish people,” Ben Williamson, an assistant director for the FBI’s public affairs unit, wrote on X.

CNN wants us to remember that white supremacy is the biggest threat to America.

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands?

Ephesians 5:22-25
Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her...

The following video of a street preacher reminded me of that Bible passage. The comments for that video seem to be overwhelmingly supporting the preacher. (so far I haven't found any negative comments)

"Are you a disobedient wife?"
"All the time and I love her for it."
"You know why - because you're not the man of the house - that's the problem - you know what happens - the devil attacks the man - he weakens the man and he strengthens the feminist woman so she has a big mouth and she has no submission, no submission"

6:36 "control your woman man - she's out of control"
6:52 "fix your stupid woman man she's being stupid"

I was wondering what Christians think about that passage being used to encourage men to have more power in a marriage...

Could it be that we are this close now ?

Because i'm seeing quite a bit of this lately.

2 Timothy 3 - But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.

Pulled into KFC the other day and ordered a meal , received my meal but no spoon , so tapped on the window and asked for a spoon , girl opens the window and throws the spoon at me in disgust , I say well how am I supposed to eat the potato & gravy ?......she says who bloody well cares and slams the window closed. ( Must have been love at first sight..lol )

But that's only one of the many stories that I could tell. Some are saying it's because of the covid19 vaccine because Dr Peter McCullough says it goes into the brain and causes damage , but i'm not too sure about that , I think Einstein might be on to something here , who knows.

Anyone else noticing these strange behaviours in young people today ?......because if you are then we might actually be on the cusp of the end time scenario.

Watch 150 Amish Carry an Entire Building Down the Road...

“Some have asked why not use wheels. Mostly it was because of time. The amount of dirt that would have needed to be moved to get wheels through two ditches, plus the 180 turn at the end with limited space. It had to go down slightly to miss the power lines crossing onto the dirt road. Then the number one reason was you don't need overweight or over width permits if you just carry it...”

Have you understood this?

After explaining to His disciples the parables of the Kingdom of Heaven, Jesus asked them; Have you understood all this? Matthew 13:51 and they answered – Yes.

It was a simple sounding question, but actually He was asking the most profound question of the ages.. Jesus was asking if they knew that, in Gods eyes there are two and only two – classes of people in the world: Those that accept God and His Laws: wheat, buried treasure, pearls and good fish - and the children of Satan: tares, weeds and worthless fish.

Matthew 13:37-42... He replied: The sower of the good seed is the Son of Man.
The field is the world, the good seed stands for the children of the Kingdom and the weeds, the children of the evil one.
The enemy who sowed the weeds is the devil The harvest is the end of time and the reapers are angels.
As the weeds are gathered up and burnt at the end of the age, the Son of Man will rid His Kingdom of every cause of sin and all whose deeds are evil. These will be thrown into the blazing furnace, where there will be much wailing and sorrow.

Matthew 13:43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father If you have ears, then hear.

Just a speculation – but Jesus gave four parables about who will and who will not inherit the Kingdom;

1/ The wheat and the weeds – Messianic Jews and apostate Jews, the House of Judah.

2/ The buried treasure – The born again Christians who are also the House of Israel.

3/ A pearl of great value – A person who dedicates their life to the Lord.

4/ The good and the worthless fish – All peoples, believers and unbelievers.

Luke 6:20 Blessed are you who are in need; the Kingdom of God is yours.

Chinese scholar at University of Michigan tried to smuggle biological pathogen into the U.S., feds say

Federal agents have arrested a University of Michigan scholar from China on charges she tried to smuggle a biological pathogen into the United States characterized as a potential agricultural terrorism weapon that can be used for targeting food crops. . .
FBI Director Kash Patel addressed the arrest late Tuesday on X, formerly Twitter.
“This case is a sobering reminder that the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) is working around the clock to deploy operatives and researchers to infiltrate American institutions and target our food supply, which would have grave consequences … putting American lives and our economy at serious risk.”

We will be dealing with the fallout from past immigration policy for decades.

Utah legislator threatens legislation after Utah Mammoth (Hockey) and Jazz (basketball) make posts supporting Gay Pride

From KSL.com:
"Over the weekend, the Utah Mammoth posted a message on the social platform X that said, "Happy Pride!" along with a rainbow flag. Pride month is recognized each June as a celebration of LGBTQ+ rights and culture.

"The Utah Jazz posted a similar social media message about Pride, urging love and support for the LGBTQ+ community "as we work to foster a safer and more inclusive space for all."

"But Rep. Trevor Lee, R-Layton, took issue with the hockey team's message, saying that "Utahns overwhelmingly don't support pride month."

"Nothing makes Utahns more mad when political ideologies get pushed into their lives. And even worse, having taxes prop up these ideologies," Lee wrote on X. "Watch for some significant legislation this next session that pushes back onto these woke groups!"

The Saints will meet the Lord in the air, not Rapture, at Jesus second coming, this is the first Resurrection

Some people say, "Jesus is going to rapture us up to Heaven where he is" and when we ask them where they get that from that quote 1Thessalonians 4:13-17, to make a point or justify the rapture.13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Now lets take a closer look at the scripture and see what’s it talking about. Paul is telling people Not to grieve over people death in Christ; cause they will be raise again, as surely as the virtuous people that are living will be changed. "For the Lord will descend, (which mean come down), and we all will be caught up (ascend) together in the clouds to MEET the Lord in the AIR: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. So all the saints will meet the Lord in the air with the Angels and come down, back to earth. The third heaven is above space, and above space, theres a body of water. So the Lord is coming from all the way up there, now the saints are coming from the earth to meet the Lord in the clouds, and then we are going back to earth.

Lets go into Zechariah 14:1 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. 4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

Lets read this last part again in 1 Thessalonians 3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

At the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ with ALL HIS SAINTS. How clear is this brothers and sisters. You have to get understanding. Just because a person see the word heaven, it doesn't mean that every word that you see in the Bible that says heaven, is talking about the same thing. There are three heavens God created. First heaven is Earth, Second heaven is the sun, moon, stars, clouds. The Third heaven is above all, is where our Lord Father and Jesus Christ are. Lets take a look an example in Deuteronomy 4:19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

What else do you see when you look up and see the sun the moon and stars, you see the clouds, and didn't say in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Do we understand what meet means.

Lets take a look at the meaning of the word meet. meet1 mēt/ verb 1. come into the presence or company of (someone) by chance or arrangement."a week later I met him in the street" synonyms: encounter, meet up with, come face to face with, run into, run across, come across/upon, chance on, happen on, stumble across/on;informalbump into "I met an old friend on the train"

Canadian Mounties investigating potential war crimes in Gaza

RCMP says it’s probing potential war crimes related to Israel-Hamas conflict

The police service told the Star it launched the investigation in early 2024.

Very few details of the RCMP’s probe into what it called the “Israel-Hamas armed conflict” are known, with the police service confirming the investigation to the Star on Monday, but refusing to answer questions about its scope.

The RCMP launched the investigation quietly in early 2024.

The program is intended to deny safe haven to war criminals, as well as seek accountability for alleged atrocities either by sharing evidence with other authorities or trying individuals in Canadian courts, the justice department said.

“As a neutral law enforcement body, the RCMP considers allegations from all parties involved with impartiality,” the Crown agency said over email Monday in response to a series of questions. “To uphold the integrity of this ongoing investigation, the RCMP provides this as its final response on the matter.”

Multiple reports released by an independent UN commission focused on Israel-Palestine allege both Hamas and Israel have committed war crimes and crimes against humanity since October 2023.

Elon Musk calls Trump’s ‘big, beautiful’ tax bill a ‘disgusting abomination’

The former head of Doge said the ‘outrageous’ tax bill will cause the deficit to grow to $2.5tn

Elon Musk, the billionaire tech entrepreneur, has opened a new rift with Donald Trump by denouncing the US president’s tax and spending bill as a “disgusting abomination”.
Musk’s online outburst could embolden fiscally conservative Republican senators – some of whom have already spoken out – to defy Trump as they continue crucial negotiations on Capitol Hill over the so-called “one big, beautiful bill”.

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk wrote on his X social media platform on Tuesday. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”
Musk, who had previously voiced criticism of the proposed legislation, quipping that it could be big or beautiful but not both, added on X: “It will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden America citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt.”

He continued: “Congress is making America bankrupt.”

Sounds like trouble in paradise. But oh - who to criticise - the world's best president or the world's best businessman? They can't both be right.

Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll’s ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah’ Wins K-Love Awards Song of the Year

A night of powerful faith and music: Brandon Lake dominates the K-Love Fan Awards with four wins, including Song of the Year with Jelly Roll, whose redemption story left the audience in tears.
Brandon Lake and country artist Jelly Roll won for Song of the Year, while Leanna Crawford, CeCe Winans, and For King & Country also took home honors during the 2025 K-Love Fan Awards in Nashville, Tenn., broadcast on TBN Friday.

Lake and Jelly Roll won for their collaboration song Hard Fought Hallelujah, a hit that has enjoyed crossover success on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Crawford's Still Waters (Psalm 23) won Breakout Song of the Year, while Winans and For King & Country received wins for Female Artist of the Year and Group of the Year, respectively.

Lake had the biggest night, winning four awards: Song of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Worship Song of the Year (That's Who I Praise).

Jeremy Camp, Bart Millard, Mac Powell, and Matthew West hosted the show, which is in its 12th year.

Lake said Jelly Roll was already a fan of Hard Fought Hallelujah -- originally released as a solo single -- before he was invited to collaborate on it.

"He was like, 'I've been praying for a song like this,'" Lake said as he accepted the award for Song of the Year. "And then fast forward, we start leading this song together, and he starts saying things like, 'Man, I am a man of faith, but I've never had a song and a person, like, just give me permission to be so much more honest about my faith.'"
Jelly Roll, who is on tour, addressed the audience via video.
"Man, what a beautiful story -- man, from a jail cell to a K-Love Award, that is something only God can do himself," Jelly Roll said, referencing his past. "Brandon, thank you for letting me be a part of this record. Thank you to the fans for voting. Thank you for K-Love for taking a chance on this record and adding my version, and just championing it. I don't take this lightly at all."

My Daughter was Confirmed last night

Since I was a regular here a long time ago...through the loss of our first son, the birth of my daughter and the birth of my second son. I thought I would come by and share this. It was a wonderful day. Family was in. We celebrated. She took the name Antonia after St. Anthony. When it was done and she turned away from the Bishop a friend caught her doing a joyous fist pump on camera.

Before we left the house I have her a fatherly blessing:

In Baptism you were claimed for Christ. After you are Confirmed today may your words and your actions show people that you are Christ’s. May you lead them to Him. May your questions in life strengthen you. May His answers save you. May God stand between you and harm in all the empty places you must walk. To you, the heavenly Father is more precious than all the treasures of the world, and More precious than all the treasures of the world are you to Your Father in heaven and to us. Walk with Him always, I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
She came upstairs this morning and said: What do I do now?

I said: Remember how you always want to volunteer to work with those in need. How you keep money on the home altar for when people need it. How you get angry when someone is treated unjustly and demand something be done. Do those things. Be the person He made you to be and use the gifts He has given you. He already planted seeds. Now they are watered in a special way. Keep them growing by living our who He made you to be in service to Him and in service for others.

She said: Will you come with me?

I said: Until I can no longer walk.
I pray for all of you here. I will be doing the husband and father thing. And I will stop in from time to time to say hi.

Proposals to restore Eucharistic unity with Ecumenical Patriarchate not supported at UOC meeting

"There were expectations that Eucharistic communion with the Ecumenical Patriarchate would finally be restored and formal appeals would be sent to the Primates of the Local Churches for recognition the full autocephaly of the UOC. Many were waiting for this and hoping for it… But, once again, all hopes were in vain. Much to Moscow’s satisfaction. During the bishops’ meeting on 27 May, some bishops proposed resuming dialogue and Eucharistic unity with the Ecumenical Patriarchate. A proposal was also made to issue an official appeal to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the heads of other Local Churches, seeking recognition of the UOC’s autocephaly. These proposals, however, were not supported. Everything was limited to the reading of Metropolitan Onufriy’s address marking the anniversary of the “Feofaniyevsky” Council and a very brief exchange of views among the bishops. The tone was set by Metropolitan Theodosius Snegirev of Cherkasy, who voiced a position of allegiance to the ROC MP on behalf of a “group of bishops and clergy” of the UOC. There were some bishops who spoke in favour of full autocephaly of the UOC, but the majority simply remained silent as has often been the case."

The Evening Visitors

The Evening Visitors

Jacob locked his office door behind him and stepped into the chill of an early spring evening. The church parking lot was nearly empty, save for a few latecomers, but something restless had pulled him away from the quiet safety of his home.

He was used to order—the steady cadence of sermons shaped by a faith handed down through generations, rooted in tradition and the clear lines it drew around right and wrong. His congregation reflected this well: families who valued hard work, respect for authority, and a skepticism of anything too new or uncertain. Jacob himself wore those values like a well-fitted coat, familiar and reassuring.

But tonight, the weight of unspoken questions pressed on him, heavier than the Sunday Bible study debates or the polite discussions over coffee. He found himself walking without direction, his footsteps carrying him to the edge of town, near an old industrial park where streetlights flickered uncertainly.

There, by a fire burning in a rusty barrel, stood three people.

One was a woman in a simple clerical collar, her expression open but unreadable. Another was an older man, shoulders stooped, eyes distant but attentive. Between them, a quiet figure watched the flames, his hands clasped, silent but steady.

Jacob stopped a few feet away, unsettled by their presence but drawn nonetheless. Hospitality was part of his upbringing—welcoming strangers, offering what little warmth the night could afford. But something about this moment felt different.

The woman’s voice broke the silence first. “The Kingdom of God isn’t what most expect. It isn’t about comfort or certainty, but about upheaval—turning tables and crossing boundaries.”

Jacob nodded slowly, feeling the familiar urge to argue, to explain, to reclaim the narrative. But the older man’s next words stopped him.

“Power is not the currency of grace. I once thought strength meant holding fast to what I knew—now I see it means letting go.”

The quiet man finally spoke, his voice low but sure. “Faith is dangerous. It asks us to risk more than social acceptance or political certainty. It asks us to stand with the forgotten, the outcast, the inconvenient.”

Jacob’s throat tightened. He thought of his sermons—carefully framed messages that comforted, rallied, and reassured. Here was a challenge he had never dared voice aloud. The kind of discipleship that didn’t fit neat categories, that unsettled the foundations of his world.

As the rain began to fall, soft and persistent, Jacob glanced back toward the church steeple rising against the darkening sky. He thought of the story he’d heard as a child—the one where Abraham rose quickly to welcome three strangers under the oaks of Mamre, hospitality leading to promise and change.

In that moment, Jacob understood: the Kingdom was not a place of certainty or ease, but a calling into the wild unknown. And like Abraham, he was being asked to open his door—not to what was comfortable or familiar, but to what might unsettle and transform.

He took a deep breath and moved closer to the fire, letting the warmth wash over him as the rain whispered around them.

His neurologist just found a mass in his brain and he's going to find out exactly what it is tomorrow. They are setting up surgery just to be safe on Thursday just in case it's cancer or something serious. I told him this story almost exactly reminds me of my story abiut when I had the pulmonary embolism 2 years ago and I was on CF posting in the prayer section and nobody knew whether I was going to live or die. Not my family, my congregation, the doctors and nurses at Dartmouth, even you guys. It was truly a scary time. We all prayed and begged God to save my life and he did. And that probably brought my friend hope so... let's all pray again and maybe God will act in full force again over 2 years later.

‘One of the most heartbreaking tragedies’: Gaza doctor’s last goodbye before nine children killed in airstrike

Dr Alaa al-Najjar was at work when an indiscriminate Israeli strike destroyed her home, killing nine of her ten children, and her husband inleaving one son and her husband as survivors

By Malak A Tantesh & Lorenzo Tondo, Reposted from The Guardian, May 25, 2025
In the early hours of Friday, as she did every day, Dr Alaa al-Najjar said goodbye to her 10 children before leaving the house. The youngest, Sayden, six months old, was still sleeping. And like every day, with war raging in Gaza and Israeli strikes landing just metres from her neighborhood in Khan Younis, Najjar worried about leaving them at home without her.
But Najjar, 35, had little choice. One of Gaza’s dwindling number of medics, a respected pediatrician at the Nasser medical complex, she had to go to work to care for injured babies who had barely survived Israeli attacks. She could never have imagined that that farewell to her family would be her last.
A few hours later, the charred bodies of seven of her children, killed by an Israeli airstrike on Khan Younis, arrived at her hospital. Two other bodies, including Sayden’s, remained under the rubble. Of her 10 children, only one had survived, along with their father, Hamdi al-Najjar, 40, also a doctor. Both are now in the hospital.
