  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Stressed out with Apple’s decision to ditch the SIM card slot on iPhone 14

I read that Apple got rid of the physical SIM card slot on iPhone 14 and it is only possible to use an eSIM with that phone now. I read online that other phones will follow suit, so that eventually all new smartphones will only have eSIM capabilities.

This has me stressed out because now with iPhone SE whenever I want to I can switch the physical SIM card back to the flip phone. One of the reasons I would want to be able to switch back to the flip phone on a temporary basis is if I have accessed inappropriate content. Another reason is because I visit a brother with autism and he has behavior involving squeezing phones as hard as possible and this may crack the screen.

I am thinking if I am wanting to switch between a flip phone and an iPhone in the future with only the eSIM available that it will be a lot harder and it will involve calling my cell phone company and having to be on Wi-Fi when I make any switch between phones. I don’t have Wi-Fi available at home right now.

It might however help to find a cell phone company that can block your Internet access or data on your smartphone if you call them and ask them to do so. Do you know of any cell phone company you can call to block your Internet access?

Scared God may be telling me something.

So, backstory, I have OCD. Ive had OCD since I was born actually, so im used to its tricks and other torture methods. But recently things have become a little too real. Ill be thinking about things I want to have happen in the future and sometimes ill get a sharp physical sensation on specific thoughts. This sensation will always occur if I go over the thought again at a later date as well. Something inside me tells me that these sensations means that the thought is false and the scary part is, recently its turned out to be RIGHT. Like 8 times. And now its going after things it can't be right about. Its causing me so much anxiety, im unmotivated to do anything, I dont even want to get up in the morning. I need help, I can't tell if this is God or what. But it scares me so bad.

I should also add that this is always predicting things I specifically DON'T want to have occur.

Trio of Texas Churches Donated to Political Candidate Despite Clear IRS Prohibition - Others put candidate election signs on their property

A candidate for the Abilene, Texas, City Council said that three churches made an honest mistake by donating to his campaign and that he is returning the money. The race has been beset by allegations of electioneering by churches.

Three churches in West Texas have made financial contributions to a pastor running for a hotly contested seat on the Abilene City Council, a clear violation of federal rules prohibiting nonprofits and churches from endorsing candidates, financial disclosure records show.

“This is absolutely something every church should know — and probably does know — that they’re not allowed to do,” said Sam Brunson, a law professor specializing in religion and tax exemption at Loyola University Chicago.

ProPublica and The Texas Tribune reported last year that church leaders in Texas and across the country endorsed candidates from the pulpit at least 20 times in apparent violation of the Johnson Amendment, a law passed by Congress in 1954. Three experts on nonprofit law, including Brunson, reviewed the sermons and said they crossed a line.

The IRS can strip violators of their tax-exempt status, but there’s only one publicly known example of it doing so, nearly 30 years ago. Brunson said this lack of enforcement has emboldened bad actors, and he called on Congress to explicitly tell the IRS it can also fine violators.

The Abilene City Council race has been marked by allegations of Johnson Amendment violations for months. At least five churches have displayed campaign signs for three conservative Christian candidates who have all vowed to protect children by removing what they deemed to be obscene books from the public library and banning family-friendly drag shows from the city.

Beard stands by his belief that the nation was founded as a Christian nation and if it doesn’t turn back to God, it will fall like the Roman Empire and other great civilizations have throughout history.

Changing fruitless ways

If Americans are so anxious to get rid of Biden or Trump, perhaps they should choose someone who's platform doesn't depend on the existence of one against the other, but the elimination of both. End the divisiveness and take back the nation rather than pretending to build back better or make it great as a political ploy. People are too easily swayed into thinking life is a team sport rather than one of unity. But of course sheep are more interested in playing their previous game even though both previous leaders were useless and achieved nothing in term but keep the followers loyal and wearing their respective hats rather than thinking for themselves and doing what serves the people best rather than politicians with a monetary agenda. Take back what is yours, not theirs, because one more term either previous way and it may be gone forever. Think independently and pull the rug out from under divisiveness and the politicians and corporations that depend upon it for survival..

Time to outlaw public schools

According to the story from Fox News, a 6-year-old girl was forced by a six-year-old boy to go under his desk and perform an unnamed sex act on him, in the middle of class, while the teacher was in the room and supposedly "distracted" teaching another student.

I think this is a good reason to outlaw all public schools.

Can dividing the Body of Christ on prejudicial grounds and taking the Lord's Supper, result in serious sickness - even death... ???

Here is one of the most serious warnings in the New Testament.

1 Cor 11
27 Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord.
28 Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
29 For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.
30 That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.
31 But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged.
32 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

What exactly was He meaning ?

Do folks suffer under this warning today?

What does the original Greek reveal about discerning the Body - is this a reference to the Body of Christ the Church ?

Comment greatly appreciated.

People with amazing gifts

I have met several people who have amazing gifts, there is a guy at my other church (Grace Chapel in E-Town) who sees auras around people, he can tell if you have something wrong with you just by looking at you. If you have an aura around your leg that means pain in your leg. At first I was not sure if his gifts were from God but I am now convinced they are, he ministered to me several times and I got healed!

There was another guy at the same church that had the same gift, they both saw the same thing without communicating with eachother. He had had this gift since he was a little boy, he had always had it!

This guy was seeing auras around people even as a child, one time he asked his mother as a little boy what the colors meant, his mother freaked and took him to the hospital to have him looked at. The gift left while he was in the ER and they discharged him, then when he got home the gift came back. Later in life he realized the gift was from God and also realized that the auras meant something, he could tell if someone was sick or injured depending on the aura.

Trust in Media 2023 YouGov Poll - Huge Divide Between Republicans and Democrats - A majority of Republicans trust only FoxNews and the Weather Channel

In this year's trust in media poll — conducted from April 3 - 9, 2023 — YouGov asked Americans to say whether they trust, distrust, or neither trust nor distrust the media organizations. From the results, it is possible to determine each outlet's net trust score – that is, how much more likely Americans are to say the outlet is trustworthy or very trustworthy than untrustworthy or very untrustworthy.

The Weather Channel is just one of two outlets polled about that a majority of Republicans trust; the other one is Fox News (56% of Republicans trust it, with a net trust score among them of +41).

This graph is pretty astonishing. Republicans (net) mistrust almost every possible media source.

I mean, it's not surprising that Democrats are more likely to trust Politico or Huffpo than Republicans, but Democrats don't really trust them all that much. All the major broadcast networks and AP and Reuters earn a lot more trust.

It's not surprising that Republicans trust FOX, OAN, Newsmax more than Democrats do, but I do find it surprising that Republicans trust them more than anything other than the Weather Channel.

OAN is more trustworthy than Forbes? NewsMax is more trustworthy than the AP? Only in Bizarro world.

On the flip side, if Republican leaning voters aren't trusting the media, who are they trusting? Unfortunately, I think we know all too well. Some guy on YouTube, this twitter post with a lot of likes, Truth Social...

What You Should and Shouldn’t Be Doing With Your Elderly Dog – It’s National Pet Week

To mark National Pet Week which begins May 7, a pair of dog experts compiled the top things you should and shouldn’t be doing with your senior pooches—including, keeping them mentally stimulated, but not expecting them to run for more than 60 minutes.

A dog’s life cycle runs much quicker than a human’s, so older pups may not be able to keep up with their owner’s multi-mile walks. The same goes for expecting them to run long distances or climb steps with slippery flooring.

A survey of 2,000 dog owners, commissioned by Forthglade (a British company that makes natural dog food) found that 43 percent believe you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

So handing out rape alarms is a crime.

At 2 am a group of volunteers for the westminster council night safety were arrested for handing out alarms to people leaving clubs. Seriously? Metropolitan Police officers arresting people handing out rape alarns? This is the same force that included david carrick the most prolific rapist i British history.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: Watch the Sheep That Thinks it’s a Dog – Gallivanting With the Family Pups

A sheep that thinks it’s a dog simply loves cavorting with a trio of pooch pals.

The video shows Rolo the sheep giving chase to the dogs as they play in a farmer’s field—jumping around like a BFF canine companion.

The ‘sheep dog’s’ owner, who lives in Entre Rios, Argentina, can be heard laughing and exclaiming in Spanish:

“Careful Rolo. You’re not a dog, darling!”

GNN doesn’t have any more details, such as the age of the frisky sheep, but definitely thought the video was worth sharing to deliver a chuckle, along with the other good news stories this week…

THE FULFILLMENT OF DANIEL 11, Part 2 of 2

THE FULFILLMENT OF DANIEL 11, Part 2 of 2

3692 AM, 4402 JP, 312 BC

2563. Seleucus took with him 1000 foot soldiers from Ptolemy’s (as Appianus has it, for Diodorus says only 800.) and 200 cavalry. With so small a force he went to recover his government of the province of Babylon. When he came with them into Mesopotamia, he there dealt with the Macedonians he found living in Carran. He persuaded some to follow him, others he forced to go along with him in his journey. No sooner had he set foot within the territory of Babylon, then the inhabitants came flocking to him and offered him their service in the recovering of his government. Polyarchus also, who held some kind of office among them, came to him to receive his commands and brought 1000 armed troops to him. When those who sided with Antigonus knew of his popularity with the people, they all fled to the citadel which was commanded by Diphilus. Seleucus besieged it and took it by force. He released from there the children and friends of his that Antigonus had imprisoned when Seleucus had fled to Egypt for fear. When this was done, he started raising soldiers in the country. He bought horses and distributed them among those who were able to ride them. With all of them he behaved fairly and friendly. He secured their loyalty so they were all ready to risk any hazard with him. So for the third time he again recovered all his government of Babylon. (Diod. Sic. with Appian. in his Syriaca, p. 121.)

2564. Nicanor, whom Antigonus had made governor of the province of Media, marched against Seleucus with 10,000 foot soldiers and 7000 cavalry. Seleucus immediately went to meet him with a little more than 3000 foot soldiers and 400 cavalry. When he had crossed the Tigris River, he heard that the enemy was not far off. He hid his men in the marshes around there and planned to ambush Nicanor. When Nicanor came to the bank of the Tigris River, he could not find the enemy and camped near to a post house of the kings. Little did he think that the enemy was so near. The next night he was not even thinking about the enemy and did not post a proper military watch. Seleucus attacked him and raised a great tumult in his army. When the Persians started to fight back, Euager their general along with other commanders were killed. After this fight most of Nicanor’s army abandoned him and defected to Seleucus. They did not like the fix they were in nor did they care for Antigonus. Thereupon Nicanor feared what would happen next lest his soldiers turn him over to Seleucus. He stole away with some few of his friends, and fled home through the desert into Media again. (Diod. Sic.)

2565. When Seleucus had gotten this powerful army, he still behaved well toward all men and easily subdued the provinces of Media, Susa and the other bordering countries. He quickly sent Ptolemy word how he had regained his full regal power and majesty. (Diod. Sic. year 1. Olymp. 117.) Based on this, Eusebius counts this as the first year of Seleucus’ reign. All note that the Edesseni begin their epoch here. The story of the Maccabees’ account of the Greek reign begins here. Without a doubt this is from the autumn of this very year, that is, from September or October of the year 4402 JP (years from creation). Starting at that time, the writer of the second book of Maccabees calculates his Greek years, and the Jews there, “eram Contractium”, i.e. “their account of Contracts”, and those of Edessa, and other Syrians, in their “Epoch of the Seleucian Kingdom”, and the Arabians, “the years of Alexander Dehiplarnain”, as they call them. Yet the writer of the first book of Maccabees begins his account of the Greek year, from the previous spring to this autumn and Ptolemy of Alexandria, in his great Syntaxis begins his Chaldean account from the next spring.

Seleucus recaptured Babylon from Antigonus in 312 BC and began establishing the Seleucid Kingdom

Annals of the World record 2746 confirms that Seleucus was the Prince that grew in strength with Ptolemy, who was the king of the South, while he took refuge in Egypt and after he recaptured Babylon, his dominion grew greater and he ascended over King Ptolemy, the King of the South when the historian Arrian concludes that Seleucus was the greatest man that lived after Alexander the Great and that he had the most noble spirit and the largest dominion of all others.

The Seleucid Empire grew greater in domain and dominion than the Ptolemic Empire as described in Dan 11:5

3724 AM, 4434 JP, 280 BC

2746. Arrian tells us that Seleucus was the greatest man that lived after Alexander the Great and had the most noble spirit of all the rest. He had the largest dominions of all others. (l. de Reb. Alexand.) He died in the 43rd year after the death of Alexander, the 32nd year of the Greek or Seleucian Calendar. Appian said he lived 73 years but Justin says 78 years. His body was buried by Philetaerus the king of Pergamus, which he redeemed from Ceraunus with a great sum of money. After he had buried it in a most solemn manner, he sent his ashes to his son Antiochus. He burned it in Seleucia which stands on the sea coast. He built a shrine to his tomb which was called Nicatorium after his surname. (Appian, in Syriac. p. 129.) Justin tells us that both he, his sons and grand children after him, were all born with the sign of an anchor on one of their thighs. This was a natural birthmark of that family. (l. 15. c. 4.) Ausonius in his book “de Claris Urbius”, that is, “of famous cities”, spoke of Antioch and said: (l. 2.) –Illa Selucum. &c. She for her founder did Seleucus praise, Who ware a native anchor in his thigh; A true impress of his nativity, And cognizance on all his progeny.

The king of the North was probably first fulfilled by the Roman Empire and then followed by England.

After Egypt the king of the South was most likely fulfilled by Saudi Arabia when Mohammed started the Islamic religion and subsequent Islamic rulers set out on Islamic Crusades and conquered North Africa, part of the Middle East and part of Europe.

Some of the wars between the Roman/Byzantine Empires and Islam most likely fulfilled some of the earlier wars described in Dan 11 between the king of the North and the King of the South.

According to William Branham's visions, which I posted below Russia is the current king of the North.

1933 Seven Visions by William Branham
(Concerning Endtime Events From 1933 to The End)

The first vision was that Mussolini would invade Ethiopia and that nation would "fall at his steps". That vision surely did cause some repercussions, and some were very angry when I said it and would not believe it. But it happened that way. He just walked in there with his modern arms and took over. The natives didn't have a chance. But the vision also said that Mussolini would come to a horrible end with his own people turning on him. That came to pass just exactly as it was said.

The next vision foretold that an Austrian by the name of Adolph Hitler would rise up as dictator over Germany, and that he would draw the world into war. It showed the Siegfried line and how our troops would have a terrible time to overcome it. Then it showed that Hitler would come to a mysterious end.

The third vision was in the realm of world politics for it showed me that there would be three great ISMS, Fascism, Nazism, Communism, but that the first two would be swallowed up into the third. The voice admonished, "WATCH RUSSIA, WATCH RUSSIA. Keep your eye on the King of the North."

The fourth vision showed the great advances in science that would come after the Second World War. It was headed up in the vision of a plastic bubble-topped car that was running down beautiful highways under remote control so that people appeared seated in this car without a steering wheel and they were playing some sort of a game to amuse themselves.

The fifth vision had to do with the moral problem of our age, centering mostly around women. God showed me that women began to be out of their place with the granting of the vote. Then they cut off their hair, which signified that they were no longer under the authority of a man but insisted on either equal rights, or in most cases, more than equal rights. She adopted men's clothing and went into a state of undress, until the last picture I saw was a woman naked except for a little fig leaf type apron. With this vision I saw the terrible perversion and moral plight of the whole world.

Then in the sixth vision there arose up in America a most beautiful, but cruel woman. She held the people in her complete power

The last and seventh vision was wherein I heard a most terrible explosion. As I turned to look I saw nothing but debris, craters, and smoke all over the land of America. (This is Ocasio Cortez)

I am in agreement with other believers that Saudi Arabia is the current king of the South.

The Soviet-Afghan War, in which Saudi Arabia was the main organizer of the Muslim Militia that pushed the invading Russians out of Afghanistan was most likely the fulfillment of one of the wars described in Dan 11.

The Progressive USA/ Sunni Saudi Arabia orchestrated attempt to overthrow Assad and install a Sunni Muslim Brotherhood government in Syria in which Russia and Iran successfully defended Assad is an instance when the King of the South Saudi Arabia and it’s proxies attempted to expand it’s realm into the realm of the king of the North, Russia and it’s allies Syria and Iran.

Iran’s attempt to take control of Yemen through the Shiite Houthis in Yemen is an instance when the king of north, Russia and it’s ally, Iran is attempting to seize control of Yemen, which is located right at the door step of the king of the South, Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi attempt to take control of Syria and and Iran’s attempt take control of Yemen are most likely part of the fulfillment of the wars described in Dan 11, which lead up to the rising of the Antichrist.

Do we always see?

I've thought about it a bit, I understand that when you die, it just turns black, but consciousness itself takes some time to create, if it's not already there, then every person who is born, animal, and plants are descendants of this consciousness, it is not created new every time, you are only born with a body and a consciousness, and then you live life on this planet thanks to this life force that gives us life, the soul ours is not from genes either, people have been researching genes for several decades already, and have not found a single gene linked to consciousness, so there is another way in which it is transmitted, they say that nature lives, believe you there is some kind of, life force out there, in nature, from which we all originate? Have also noticed that when cats die, it looks like they are thinking of a place, that life is not final then, maybe at first I thought it was a way to get rid of the fear of dying, something you create yourself then, but it doesn't really look like that, does it?

I'm very hurt and numb

I need help/advice/prayers/emotional support... I'm sorry I keep posting about the same topic over and over but I think my relationship OCD has taken a really bad turn.

My bf and I used to struggle with boundaries at the beginning of our relationship, but then for almost a year we were doing a better job... until Saturday, when we crossed several boundaries we definitely should not have (not sex though).

He said he's sorry, and came up with a plan to stop it from happening again. And it "takes two to tango" so it's partly my fault also. But I'm hurt.

That, and when we talk about marriage, he says he's not ready, because he's not sure he can handle my anxieties. But he says he's trying. He's just concerned that my anxiety is going to get real bad in the future, because it's been really bad in the past (years before I met him). And he's not sure if he can handle it.

It's hard for me to want to fix this. The more I think about it, the less I have the will to stay in the relationship. I just feel almost numb. I'm not sure if I want to stay or go. And I mention relationship OCD because of how I hyper analyze my feelings; that sort of feels like it's a factor here. I keep going back and forth between "I'm not sure I want to stay" and "oh no what if he didn't like XYZ/this or that about me."

We were doing fine before Saturday; I knew he was still working through things before being ready to get married and i was handling that fairly well. But now, if he popped out with a ring today, I'm not sure what I'd say.

I'm just hurt and sad. I feel like I'm making a big deal out of this and I need to move on; other couples have gone through way worse (i was reading stories last night to try to help feel better). But I keep dwelling on it and I know it's not healthy but here we are.

Tl,dr: I'm hurt from an incident where my bf and I crossed some boundaries; I feel like my relationship OCD is making things worse.

Why Go on Retreat?

Have you ever been on a retreat? The word may call to mind a quiet monk’s cell or a sunny beach. If not, perhaps you think you do not have the time nor the money to take a retreat. This kind of time away might just seem like something meant only for religious people.

Not only are retreats meant for everybody, but going on one has never been easier. A retreat is a wonderful way to spend dedicated time “out” of the world to reset, even during virtual retreats in daily life.

Going on retreat refreshes the soul

Whether you realize it or not, your soul is tired. Unless you already live in a quiet, cloistered monastery, chances are the daily demands of life wear you down to some degree. You must take time to refresh. After all, God mandated one day a week to rest – Sunday – because rest is good for us.

Think about all of our daily distractions, more than at any time in history: we commute and work, we are inundated with notifications, we turn to mindless technology habits (see doomscrolling) to fill our time, we respond to constant texts and emails, we look after our family, and we try to make time for ourselves. All of these activities add up to the mental, and also sometimes literal, noise that crowds out inner peace.

God's Judgement

This was part of a discussion I had elsewhere on the internet.

Ok, let me first just tell you what I might think about Judgement, and where I think all of us are going to stand, so that you might know where I stand, ok...

First off, it's going to be on an individual by individual basis and "all things" are going to be carefully weighed by God in those individual judgements, etc. For a person who accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior, and who has accepted this as their answer as to the question of why they should get into Heaven or not, etc, the standard will not be absolute perfection.

Next, in weighing all matters out in an individuals judgement, they will only be judged for whatsoever things God chooses to hold against them, or else not hold against them, etc, which will not be all of it for the believer, but it will only be such things as God deemed them capable of doing or else not doing (away with) in this life, for each individual one, etc, which will all be different for each individual one, etc.

I'm not sure if a person who has truly had faith in Jesus Christ to save them, and be their Lord and Savior, or that is the reason that they give as an answer to the question as to why they should get into Heaven or not, etc, can ever truly lose out on that salvation or not, etc, but they could most definitely lose out on rewards maybe, and maybe also positions possibly maybe, etc.

But notice I use the word "truly" here also, as it applies to "the believer", etc. Because if there are any "fakers" out there, and I think there are a lot or plenty of them out there, etc, then I'm pretty sure God will fully know about it fully already, and they will be judged for that accordingly, etc.

And, anyway, that's mostly my position on judgement and as to who really gets to be saved or gets to be in Heaven or not, etc.

"Mostly" anyway, etc.

The exception to this rule will be non-believers who maybe were not responsible for their own not believing in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, or who were caused not to believe in it/him/this/God, or the truth, etc, because of others who did not teach or preach in line with the truth, etc. And there are "a lot of those out there" I do believe, etc.

Anyway, these will be an exception to the rule probably as far as believing or not believing goes, etc. If it was not their fault that they didn't believe, or else worse, because it was the fault of someone else or others that they did not believe, etc. And the latter will be judged even very much heavier for it/that/this, etc.

But these non-believers will be judged just like believers if they were not responsible for their own not believing.

God Bless!

Do you think humans are kinda new?

Man generally behaves quite badly then, a lot of war and misery, but do you think all races that are quite new have a certain time during which they develop? Thinking about cats for example, they have a, not a mechanism, but a way of always being themselves, or kind, you see it in them, so I assume that animals and plants have been here much longer than with the they are more developed, do you think animals and plants are just patient with us until we are developed, or do God have another plan?

What is the Gospel?

The Gospel is:

Man has sinned. Man is a sinner and the wages of sin is death.
God knew man could not pay for his own sins so His Son, Jesus lived a perfect life. Was without sin and was crucified. Gods wrath for our sins was taken out on Him, and because He did nothing wrong, it was enough for God. The price that was paid on that cross was enough so that if we confess our sins, confess that we are a sinner and confess that Jesus is Lord, God is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins so we can receive eternal life and be in Heaven with God forever.

Jesus was crucified, died, was buried and was raised from the dead 3 days later having defeated sin and death.

"There is no one righteous, not even one."
Ron 3:10

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Rom 3:23

For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
Rom 10:13

The Gospel means "good news".

Healing testimonies.

Friends I have shared about my experiences in seeing God healing miraculously here...

I have just come across this excellent interview on 'Facing the Cannon" in which the testimony is in many ways similar to mine.

I have heard bones cracking back into place as I prayed. So has he.

I have medical evidence of cancer being totally healed pre-op and so has he.

This gives me great encouragement and confirms what I have long believed that Jesus want to reach out with us and heal today.

Please enjoy this wonderful testimony.
