  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I feel hopeless and scared

I guess I should start with how I got to this point

On/Around my 12th birthday (2016) I went to Church with my aunt, we went upstairs and listened to the youth pastor. I don't remember what led her to this but she went into GRAPHIC detail about what Hell would be like and there are not words I can think of that can properly and fully describe the terror that overtook me and still has a hold on me to this day. I literally collapsed out of my chair and everyone looked at me like I was crazy.

I was so mortified by this that I had a voice in my head from 12 to 18 telling me that "if I did/didn't do [insert random thing here] I'd go to Hell" and I was constantly fighting back and rebuking those thoughts which was exhausting and pains me to think about how mentally in shambles I was from such a young age and I didn't want to read the Bible because I was genuinely to scared to open it at all. And my fears were dismissed by those around me.

When I was 15/16 (2020) COVID hit and all of the endtimes conspiracy stuff started spreading all over TikTok and I was overcome with fear I stopped all sin I knew I was committing but still couldn't bring myself to read the Bible out of fear

At 18 (2022) I saw a post about the endtimes and how I needed to repent to be saved and I did just that and I was scared the whole time. I wasn't trusting in Christ, I was trusting in my ability to turn from sins to be saved and I was self-righteous at the time but I was genuinely tweaking having panic attacks and whatnot. I read the Bible starting in Genesis and got all the way to Kings I believe. I started going to church with my friend (who was worldly) and seeing everyone be genuinely in love with the Lord invoked this jealously and grief in me (I'll explain why shortly)

At sometime between early/mid 2023 I discovered Free Grace from Young Don and everything made sense to me. I then started doing whatever I wanted and I was happy (kinda). I started watching Free Grace content creators to improve my doctrine. I felt a pull to live a Godly life every now and then but I typically ignored it

That leads up to Aug 2nd 2024, I had gotten sick and I had nothing but time and I started seeing verses that seem to contradict Free Grace so I prayed that God leads me into the truth whether it is or isn't Free Grace and I was convinced that Free Grace is mostly false (there is SOME truth to it) but most of the explanations that they use to explain harder passages are massive reaches in my opinion (Rev 22:14, 2 Thes 1:8-9 are a few)

That takes me to now I'm looking up how to be saved and Free Grace funnily enough helped me come to the conclusion that we are saved by faith alone but true faith will work sooner or later

Now I can finally speak on what's bothering me

I don't know what to do now, I believe that Jesus Christ is the only reason that I can be saved but the emotions that accompany salvation I don't really have. As bad as it sounds I don't love God, I know what he did for me and appreciate it (at least I think) but I have no emotional love for God. I don't know if I have new desires, I'd rather not sin because it's bad and God isn't a fan but I don't hate it because sin feels good. Excuse my language but, jerking off: feels good, acting on anger: feels good, gaming all day: feels good, cursing: feels good, being crude/edgy: feels good. But I know none of those things are good but since I suddenly don't hate those things am I not saved? Am I not saved because I don't love God/Jesus? Do conflicting desires not exist anymore? A lot of Christians speak on willful sin as if all sins aren't willful and I don't like it because there are a lot of people like me who are fearful for their souls and just to know what to do to have peace and get confused because all sin is willful but Christians make it seem as if it's otherwise. I know I should Love God/Jesus and I've been trying to understand what Christ did for me so that I can live out my faith in gratitude instead of fear but I just can't feel it. The only "sign" that have "shown me I'm a Christian" is when I masturbated not too long ago and felt awful and guilty, and feeling repulsed at my worldly friends' behavior (I AM NOT SAYING I AM BETTER)

I feel like I'm too far gone, I don't hold to Calvinism but I feel like I wasn't meant to be saved, and some may say "just stop believing" but I was born with an innate gut feeling that God is real, I literally tried to be an atheist and couldn't. I know in the depths of my soul that God, the Christian God in particular, is the one and only God. I wish that I could be grateful, I wish I could love Jesus/God like I should, I wish I was moved by the word of God (I read all of John and I'm 8 or 9 chapters into Luke) and nothing? Everytime I really ponder on how much I'm loved by God it almost brings me to tears but everytime I hear about surrender I almost cringe because unfortunately I'm very haughty and cocky, so I'd feel like I know best but I know I don't but I'm scared to let go because navigating life my way is ALL I KNOW. I hate myself and sometimes wish that God would've birthed someone that wasn't me, God wouldn't have such a lowly coward on his hands, my family might have someone who feels qualified to let them know the Gospel. Somedays I feel like either a cruel joke made by God: a fool who was cursed to know that God is real but to spiritually blind and cowardly to receive him/walk out my faith or a mistake made by God: because He'd be better off with anyone else, as would my family, friends, and the world to be honest.

I feel alone because my worldly friend, I can't relate to the same, I will ALWAYS love them and will ALWAYS be there if they need me but I know that I can't/won't carelessly crack jokes with them anymore because I know I should watch my tongue. But at the The Church I used to go to and abandoned, I don't relate to them either they have a fire and zeal for the Lord that I don't and it makes me jealous because it reminds me that I'm a worthless, ungrateful, foolish coward who can't feel what they do and it makes me grieve because I knew that I don't belong among them. I know I have to go back but there is so much isolation that I feel there and there was this woman who told me I'd be a "frontrunner for the Lord" because she saw it or smth idk the embarassment I'd feel know that I'm the farthest thing from that.

To all that I have/will give advice to I hope that this doesn't make my advice any less valid and I'm sorry to have dissapointed you

I see no hope, I will continue to stay in the Word and prayer even though I'm not seeing results. Maybe I'm impatient because it's only been a week since I've left Free Grace and believed again. Am I believing wrong? Do I need to believe harder? I don't know, I've started to lament to fact that I was ever born. I feel no hope this is a vent/prayer to God because if I spoke this out loud I'd breakdown which I've done enough of recently.

Sorry if this brought any down I needed to get this off of my chest and I'd like prayers, advice, and word of comfort (if they apply here)

TL;DR - I was scared into the faith, fell away, came into false doctrine and see no results in the little time I've been in the faith and wondering if I should give up on trying to be saved

Planned Parenthood Clinic To Offer Free Abortions, Vasectomies During DNC

The Planned Parenthood of Great Rivers will offer free medication abortions and vasectomies during the first two days of the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

The Great Rivers Planned Parenthood, which covers parts of Missouri and southern Illinois, will provide abortion pills and vasectomies at a mobile health clinic on Monday and Tuesday blocks away from the convention site in Chicago, exemplifying how abortion politics will dominate the Democratic convention this year, the New York Times reported Friday. According to the NYT, there is already a waitlist for free vasectomies.

Planned Parenthood of Great Rivers advertised the mobile health clinic on their Instagram and LinkedIn accounts, captioning the post: “Beep beep! Here we come, Chicago! Planned Parenthood’s mobile health clinic will be in the West Loop with Chicago Abortion Fund (@chicagoabortionfund) and The Wieners Circle (@wienerscircle) on Monday, August 19, and Tuesday, August 20, providing FREE vasectomies and medication abortion. Emergency contraception will also be available for free without an appointment.”

The DNC attendees, whether they are delegates or not, can access the medication abortions or vasectomies, according to the NYT. In addition to the mobile health clinic, physical Planned Parenthood locations near the convention will also be offering abortions and vasectomies.

Examine Yourselves, Test Yourselves 2

“Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test! I hope you will find out that we have not failed the test. But we pray to God that you may not do wrong—not that we may appear to have met the test, but that you may do what is right, though we may seem to have failed. For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth. For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. Your restoration is what we pray for. For this reason I write these things while I am away from you, that when I come I may not have to be severe in my use of the authority that the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down.” (2 Corinthians 13:5-10 ESV)

In the last devotion, which was part 1 of this devotion, the discussion revolved around the sinful condition of some of the people within the gatherings of the church in the city of Corinth. There were people among them professing faith in Jesus Christ who were living in sin. And sexual immorality and sensuality appeared to be the most predominant of the sins that were regularly being practiced, but they also included such sins as anger, hostility, slander, gossip, and disorder, among others.

So, one of the purposes of this letter to the Corinthian church was to correct these sinful situations and to bring the people who were sinning to genuine repentance and changed hearts and/or to exercise church discipline against them. For the apostle Paul took such situations as these extremely seriously, like he did in the situation with the man who was in an incestual relationship with his father’s wife, and the church was proud rather than doing anything to correct the man and to free the church of that growing evil influence.

And following his discussion with them in the area of discussing the habitual and deliberate sinning that was going on among them, he then encouraged them to examine themselves to see whether or not they were truly in the faith. For the Scriptures teach us that if we claim to be in fellowship with God but while we walk in sin, we are liars. And if we claim to know God but while we do not obey his commandments (New Covenant), in practice, we are liars. And if sin is what we practice, we will not inherit eternal life.

[1 John 1:5-10; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10; Galatians 5:16-21]

So, it is not enough to just profess with our lips that we believe in Jesus Christ, but we must live as though we really believe in him. For true belief is persuasion of God. And we are persuaded of God in the Scriptures as to his righteousness and holiness, and of our sinfulness, and of our need to die with Christ to sin and to be raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to God and his righteousness. And true faith in God is obedience to God, and disobedience is unbelief.

[Matthew 7:21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 1:12-13; John 6:44; Acts 26:18; Romans 1:18-32; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Hebrews 10:23-31; Hebrews 12:1-2]

And this is critical that we do this self-examination because we have so many people today, at least here in America, who profess faith in Jesus Christ with their lips but whose hearts are far from him. They are still living for the sinful pleasures of the flesh, still charting their own life course, still doing whatever it is they want to do with their lives without regard for God and for what he wants for their lives, and without regard for the reality of what Jesus did in putting our sins to death with him on that cross.

For Jesus Christ gave his life up for us on that cross so that we will die to sin and live to his righteousness. He died on that cross so we will now live for him and no longer for ourselves. And he shed his blood for us to buy us back for God (to redeem us) out of our lives of slavery to sin so that we will now honor God with our bodies and so that we will now serve him with our lives in walks of obedience to his commands. So if sin is what we practice (obey), it will lead to death. But obedience to God ends in eternal life with God.

[1 Peter 2:24; 2 Corinthians 5:15; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Romans 6:1-23]

Now Paul and Timothy modeled for us what the Christian life should look like. For Paul said, “For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth.” Amen! And this was not saying that they were absolutely perfect in everything that they did and said, but that they modeled for us what the Christian life should look like. And it requires that we deny self and die daily to sin and that we follow our Lord Jesus in obedience to his commands in holy living, in practice, and that we no longer walk in deliberate sin.

Living Water

An Original Work / November 21, 2013
Based off Various Scriptures

My people have forsaken Me,
Their Savior, who died on a tree;
Made idols, and they worshipped them;
So empty, they will ne’er fulfill.

Lord, You are the hope of Your chosen ones.
Those who turn away from You will be shamed;
The Spring of Living Water left behind.

Living Water satisfies.

The thirsty, let them come and drink;
Believe in Jesus as their King;
The gift of Jesus given them,
So they will never thirst again.

Indeed, the Living Water flows within.
It springs up like a fountain cleansing sin.
Eternal life in heaven promised them.

Living Water glorifies.

Oh people, won’t you come to Him?
Obey Him and repent of sin.
Let Jesus come and live within.
Surrender all your life to Him.

My people, won’t you turn your hearts to Me?
Forsake your idols and then you’ll be free.
Won’t you come now to Me on bended knee?

Living Water sanctifies.

Massive protests expected at Chicago’s DNC; police are ready

“We’re not going to allow you to riot,” Police Superintendent Larry Snelling told business leaders and elected officials at a downtown event Monday. “Protesting and rioting are two different things. You have the right to protest, but there will be no rioting tolerated.”

I'm still confused. What exactly distinguishes a riot from a mostly peaceful protest?

Maybe a Democrat can explain this to me in more detail.

Dream of a peacock flying to me and snuggling up to me.

I had a dream two nights ago. It was a pleasant dream I was looking at the sky and then I saw several peacocks flying.

I never knew that peacocks can fly so I found it strange. They weren't flying like birds in the air but moving in the air as fish does in the water and seemingly playing with each other.

One of them broke away from the group, looked at me and with a "smiling face" (if peacocks can smile) started flying towards me. And then it snuggled into me like a dog snuggling to its owner after a long time of absence. The peacock looked so happy seeing me like it knew me. And then I laid down to rest in that dream hugging the peacock like a pillow it was very soft and happy. The bird was strangely huge though. It's nearly the size of a small woman.

I woke up for real and looked up peacock in the internet and surprised to see they really do fly. I've always thought there were flightless birds, I'm guess I'm terribly wrong!

I would appreciate it if someone can interpret the dream for me, thanks!

Hydrothermal Vents (Underwater volcanoes)

Hello folks. Remember that old adage, where humans have explored more of outer space compared to the oceans? There are volcanoes that exist under the ocean, known as hydrothermal vents, only discovered around 50 years ago. Apparently, scientists are trying to work out if there is life on other objects in space, and astrobiologists theorize that there could be life near underwater volcanoes on Europa (an icy moon of Jupiter). That sounds pretty cool, isn't it? @Astrophile , what are your thoughts on the possibility of life on Europa?

Quote from Space.com: "[Researchers] found that not only could moderately warm vents be maintained over a wide range of conditions on these moons, but that the low gravity allowed for warmer temperatures emanating from the vents. In addition, the low efficiency of heat extraction from the core of the moons (which are thought to be pretty cool in the first place) in the low gravity would allow such moderate- to low-temperature vents to be maintained for possibly billions of years."

Hydrothermal Vent info:

Europa article from Space.com:

Relevant verse about Earth's hydrothermal vents:
Job 38:16 (NIV): "Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea or walked in the recesses of the deep?"

Verse explained:
Job 38:16 is where God asks if Job has journeyed to the springs of the sea or walked in the recesses of the deep – implying a sense of curiosity and exploration about the mysteries beneath the ocean's surface, and how deep God’s knowledge is. The discovery of hydrothermal vents in the 1970s by the Scripps Institute of Oceanography is an example of how humans have sought to uncover these underwater phenomena, over 2200 years after this verse was written. In other words, this verse shows how God knew His creation thousands of years before humans did.

Future tense: predictive (will) or command (shall)

Berean Literal Bible, Matthew 20:

18 "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death."
will be betrayed
Verb - Future Indicative Passive - 3rd Person Singular

They will condemn
Verb - Future Indicative Active - 3rd Person Plural

The context determined the above future tenses, which pointed to future happenings. Further, there was a grammatical clue: third-person futures are often predictive.

On the other hand, Mt 22:

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
Love
Verb - Future Indicative Active - 2nd Person Singular

The context indicated that the above was a command. Also, commands were often written in 2nd person.

Another example in Matthew 5:

48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Be
Verb - Future Indicative Middle - 2nd Person Plural

A prohibition in Matthew 6:

5a “When you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites."
οὐκ was a negative participle.

do not be
Verb - Future Indicative Middle - 2nd Person Plural

Using οὐκ with the future tense is a strong way of expressing a negative command.

How can you tell if the future tense in Biblical Greek is making a command versus making a prediction?

  1. Analyze the context.
  2. 3rd person futures often were predictions.
  3. 2nd person futures often were commands.
  4. 2nd person futures with a negative participle often were prohibitions.

Evangelicals make up smaller share of US population than commonly thought: report

Only a third of Evangelicals attend Evangelical churches

Evangelicals make up a far smaller share of the United States population than expected due to a misunderstanding of the term, a new research report states, finding that the lack of a uniform biblical worldview among Evangelicals has negative implications.

The Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, led by longtime Evangelical pollster George Barna, released the fourth installment of its American Worldview Inventory 2024 last week.

The report, focusing on "The Limitations of Christian Evangelicalism in American Society," concluded that "Evangelicals are far fewer in number than typically reported, often are far less biblical in their thinking than one might assume, and tend to vote in far fewer numbers than expected."

Calling Yourself Into Service

Calling Yourself into Denominationalism

Jer 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, the prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spoke unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

2Co 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 2Co 11:14 And no wonder; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also are transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Divination: The Practice of seeing knowledge of the future or the unknown by supernatural means.

Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do: he was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Mat 23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Jer 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

Jer 9:5 And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.

Jer 27:15 For I have not sent them, saith the LORD, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.

Jer 27:10 For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.

Jer 27:15 For I have not sent them, saith the LORD, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.

Jer 29:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed. Jer 29:9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.

Isa 59:3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath uttered perverseness. Isa 59:4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. Isa 59:5 They hatch cockatrice eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper. 'Evil,' ripping off babies' legs, $1K for liver: 3 shocking scenes in CMP’s undercover videos

Recently unsealed footage captured by the pro-life watchdog group Center for Medical Progress shows a Planned Parenthood abortionist demonstrating how she might “pull off a leg or two” when performing abortions to avoid violating federal law against partial-birth abortion.

CMP asserts that their recorded conversations with abortionists prove that Planned Parenthood violated the federal Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act and sold aborted babies' body parts for profit.

The pro-life investigative group released a series of undercover videos in 2015 that show Planned Parenthood abortionists describing how they might alter their methods of performing abortions to obtain intact organs, limbs and tissue from aborted babies. The group’s founder, David Daleiden, and fellow investigator Sandra Merritt are two of the individuals heard talking with the abortionists and clinic directors seen in the undercover videos.

Were angels created in the image of God?

I think so.

By angels, I mean conscious beings in the spiritual realm.

John 4:

24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.
God is spirit. Angels are spirits.

Mk 12:

25 For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
Man is created in the image of God. Resurrected men are like angels. Angels were likely created in the image of God.

Revelation 7:

11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living beings. And they fell before the throne with their faces to the ground and worshiped God.
Job 1:

6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them.
Angels are sons of God.

Define soul as the faculties of conscience, volition, intellect, emotion, and memory. Each angel has his unique soul.

Angels were created in the image of God. Like God, angels are spirits. They worship God. They are called sons of God. They have souls.

Are angels and men the same kind of image of God?

No, we are different kinds of images of God. Man and angel are different image bearers of God. Angels cannot repent. The Holy Spirit does not dwell in them as he dwells in believers.

Vice President Kamala Harris’s speech Friday was an opportunity to get specific with voters about how a Harris presidency would manage an economy that many feel is not working well for them. Unfortunately, instead of delivering a substantial plan, she squandered the moment on populist gimmicks.

Dennis Quaid Says Facebook is Censoring Efforts to Promote 'Reagan' Film

In the film, Quaid plays Reagan when he was president of the Screen Actors Guild, governor of California and U.S. president while Disney Channel star David Henrie plays him in his younger years when he was a lifeguard and radio broadcaster. The movie also stars Jon Voight, C. Thomas Howell, Mena Suvari, Penelope Ann Miller, Leslie-Anne Down and Dan Lauria.
"My challenge to Facebook is to ask if any of these tactics were used against other recent presidential biopics like Lincoln, LBJ, or Southside with You, a film about President Barack Obama, which was also released during an election year," Quaid said in his statement.

There are those who feel suppressing information on U.S. history is in the best interest of their political agenda.

Harris’ plan to stop price gouging could create more problems than it solves

Food prices have surged by more than 20% under the Biden-Harris administration, leaving many voters eager to stretch their dollars further at the grocery store.

On Friday, Vice President Kamala Harris said she has a solution: a federal ban on price gouging across the food industry.

“My plan will include new penalties for opportunistic companies that exploit crises and break the rules,” Harris said at a campaign event.

There’s just one issue: Harris’ proposal could create more problems than the one it’s trying to solve, some economists say

Emergency plane landings for Trump, then Vance

As you may be well aware, last week, Trump had to make an emergency landing with his plane. And just very recently Vance has had to do the same.

Coincidence? Incredibly unlikely. Emergency landings are incredibly unlikely and incredibly uncommon.

Please pray for the safety of those two men. Please pray that any involved in assassination attempts will be always thwarted. And pray for justice and defeat of any evil doers.

The responsibility for the Fall

When God drove mankind out of the Garden, he placed cherubim to guard the entrance (Genesis 3:24). But why didn't he place a cherub at the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thereby preventing unforgivable sin? And in the Mesopotamian version, why did the gardener Tagtug get the instruction not to eat from the cinnamon tree? What is the likelihood that he would have stood there, gnawing on the bark, if he hadn't received the warning? It's like God incited the catastrophe, because it was necessary that mankind took the burden of sin for the Fall.

Foolishness and deceptiveness of orthodox beliefs

Orthodox look very stupid defending church beliefs since if you need the church to be saved how can who is in a country where he is far from priests be saved or if one is close to priest but dies before he can reach priest. Some may try to say such people in other countries will not go to heaven but not to hell either but such is deceptive as all need jesus but how about those close to church does church teach need to be catechumen to be saved and if so what does it take to be catechumen but if one does not where does church explain one does not need to be catechumen to be saved because it may not be possible.

But actually the gospel is required for everyone that is why the great commision says to preach the gospel to every creature he who does not believe will be damned so that atleast those who heard and did not believe will be damned

A look at Isaiah 1:1-27 and John 4:1-5:47

ISAIAH 1:1-27

The prophet has a difficult calling, he tells Israel of their unfaithfulness, sinfulness, and how they wander away from God, and Adonai has to put up with the sacrifices, and celebration of “new Moons” the High Holy Days. Etc. not that there is anything bad in celebrating them, BUT…. when these are done in the “flesh” and not with the heart, and because these are “things that you just have to do” then, God wants NONE OF THESE! Many people that adhere to “religion” go through “rites and traditions” just because they are used to “doing them” This in no way pleases Adonai, HOWEVER…when we do things with a pure heart, and with a spirit of “worship and praise” then…Adonai welcomes it. The LORD says through the prophet;

Come now, let us reason together, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool… IF…ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” It is all CONDITIONAL!

We have the same choice, IF we choose to love and follow the LORD, by accepting HIM as LORD and Savior, then follow and do his commandments, following in his footsteps, THEN… we will reap the rewards, first is eternal life in Heaven, second will be spiritual blessings and perhaps even physical blessings while we are on earth, and even more, in Heaven. Again, the choice is ours to take.

JOHN 4:1-5:47

This tells the story of the woman of Samaria, who comes to the well to draw water and receives an even better blessing. She gets her water and even more, the “Living Water” She meets her “Messiah”. Interestingly, she is the first person who Yeshua reveals himself as Messiah, without riddles, just in plain words;

The woman said; “I know that the Messiah is coming, and when he comes, he will teach us all things” (John 4:25. Yeshua responds by saying; “I AM the one who speaks to you” In Aramaic it’s “Enah-na damalel na amehee” as this was the common language of the street then. Or one could rephrase and say, “It is I, (the Messiah) who speaks to you.”

Messiah Yeshua came for the first time to teach the Torah, heal the sick, raise the dead, and pay our sin debt with his own blood. He came as the Lamb of God to take away the sin of the world, to receive punishment and suffering on our behalf. He came as Yeshua Ben Yosef, the suffering servant. Yet he will return as the Lion of Judah, as Messiah Yeshua Ben David, to set up his kingdom, establish Shalom, and reign with perfect justice. we imagine Yeshua as all merciful and full of love, yet He is also the God of vengeance who will punish evildoers, and put an end to Satan and all who follow him by casting all evildoers into the Lake of Fire. Many don't want to hear that part, only the "God is Love" part, yet He is both.

No doubt she had a life-changing experience, she went to tell the others about Yeshua. Isn’t that what we are supposed to do? Receive Yeshua as LORD and Savior, then, tell the world, go and teach others to respond to the calling of Adonai in their lives. Is HE part of YOUR LIFE?
