  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A review of what the New Testament says about the Great Babylon

Who is the Great Babylon

I have heard many different theories, and every theory I have heard has been based on the Bible, but none of them put together all the pieces.

Matthew 1:11 and Josiah the father of Jechoniah and his brothers, at the time of the deportation to Babylon.

This is the first use of Babylon in the New Testament and it is used three times in chapter 1 of Matthew, every time with a reference to this word translated here as "deportation" (metoikesia).

Definition of metoikesia -- removal from one abode to another, esp. a forced removal

In the Old Testament there was a removal of people from Israel to Babylon. How about in the church age? This is a key criteria to identify Babylon in the New Testament. I think it is simple to eliminate Iraq, in all of the church history there has not been a great removal of people from one place to Iraq. I think we can also eliminate the Vatican. They might be the puppeteer but certainly there has been no great removal of people to go live in the Vatican. In fact, when I visited Taiwan and Asia that is what struck me, how homogenous the population was. There has not been a great removal of people to go live in Asia. No, during the last two thousand years there has been one great removal of people to go live in the New World. That can refer to both North and South America, but primarily it would refer to the US.

The History Of Satan Worship At The Super Bowl

There are many, many articles that could be used here, but I chose this one because it gives us a good review of many acts at the Superbowl instead of just picking one event.

Who has the burden of proof in a debate?

Let P1 be a proposition.

Who has the burden of proof?

If A1 asserts P1, then A1 has the burden of proof.
If D1 denies P1, then D1 has the burden of proof.

Whoever asserts a claim, either positively or negatively, has the burden of proof.

If you say there is a God, you have the burden of proof.
If you say there is no God, you have the burden of proof.
If you say you don't know, then you don't have the burden of proof.

This is different from a legal court case, where you are assumed to be innocent until proven guilty. The accused does not need to prove his innocence.

A Newspaper Prophet

I was on another Christian forum and someone wanted to mock me by calling me a “newspaper prophet” since I was connecting current events to Biblical prophecies. But I thought about it and current events have had a big impact on Biblical doctrines for the entire church age. So I have decided to own it.

  1. Consider WW2 and the use of the atomic bomb. Prior to that bomb we could not understand what we were reading in the book of Revelation and some of the Prophecies.
  2. Consider 1948 when the Jews returned to Israel based on the vote of the UN. Prior to that many Bible teachers were teaching that all the prophecies about Israel during the last days were allegorical. It is very clear if you check your Bible teaching and doctrines they change as a result of current events.
  3. Consider JN Darby’s teaching on the Great Babylon being the Catholic church. In the 1800s that was by far the best guess. The US was not being described in Revelation 18 in any way. However, today, to say that all the merchants of the world will mourn if the US were destroyed, that fits, to say that the US is sitting on seven continents, that fits, to compare the US to Sodom and Gomorrah, that fits. So once again, current events changes our doctrines and teachings. We are foolish if we are not looking at the current events.

Hudson helicopter crash. Probably avoid flying in Bell 206 helicopters

I don't fly helicopters in real life but Ironically, I had flown them extensively in a commercial simulator used in flying schools and practiced various in flight emergencies and recovery procedures. I've also taken the hobby of flying RC helicopters in the past and I flew them "manually" that is without relying on electronic aids.

My observation and analysis of the accident is that the tail rotor or tail boom seemed to have failed first or the pilot or the passenger at the front seat either accidentally or deliberately pushed the rudder pedals (the one that controls the tail rotor) to the limits until the tail boom broke off due to large inertia and aerodynamic forces.

The violent response of the helicopter from the tail failing and/or swinging violently caused the main rotor to separate and doomed the flight.

My recommendation not to fly nor learn on Bell 206 or any two bladed main rotor helicopters like Bell 212 (UH-1 in the armed forces) or Robinson R22/44 comes next.

Two bladed rotor helicopters are simply much more vulnerable in more flight conditions (including high levels of turbulence, accidental large unintended control inputs, in-flight failures) that 3 or more bladed rotor helicopters are not.

If you accidentally kicked the control column and got stuck in that position for a moment, 3+ bladed helicopters would probably just dive which can be corrected and the flight saved if not too late. Do this on a 2 bladed rotor helicopter, the rotor blade would probably start tilting down at extreme angles until the rotor separated from the helicopter or the blades slicing the cockpit and decapitating the occupants at the front seat.

The only reason the industry are still producing two bladed rotors is because they're the cheapest type of helicopter rotor. Except for the cheapest and simplest, new helicopter models for manned operation have discarded two bladed rotors.

It's so easy to make fatal mistakes on 2 bladed rotor helicopters even in perfect flying conditions with the helicopter in perfect mechanical condition. The rotor system is a horrible design from a safety perspective.

If the Hudson river helicopter tail failure occurred on a 3+ bladed helicopter. The main rotor would probably remain attached even if the tail boom broke off. there's a slim chance of survival if the pilot is able to react quickly and correctly to the situation. As long the main rotor is attached and the helicopter is still in a relatively level attitude, it has good chance of making a survivable crash landing or even a soft landing even with missing tail boom via "auto rotation"

Unfortunately, on the 2 bladed rotor Bell 206 helicopter, their fate was sealed the moment the tail boom broke because it would be expected the violent event would cause highly vulnerable 2 bladed main rotor to break off.

Trump tariffs may push Airbus to prioritise non-US clients, CEO says

Feb 20 (Reuters) - Airbus could prioritise deliveries to non-U.S. customers if tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump were to disrupt the company's imports in the country, CEO Guillaume Faury said in an interview with CNBC on Thursday.

Trump said on Wednesday he will announce new tariffs over the next month or sooner, adding to duties he has introduced since taking office, which could affect the aerospace industry and its suppliers among other sectors.

"We have a large demand from the rest of the world, so [if] we face very significant difficulties to deliver to the U.S., we can also adapt by bringing forward deliveries to other customers which are very eager to get planes", Faury said.

US airlines lose out while their competitors overseas get a boost. Well done President Trump!

Number of Americans who don't identify as Christian but claim 'personal committment to Jesus' nears record high: survey

As America navigates a rapidly changing spiritual landscape, one truth remains constant: the person of Jesus of Nazareth has an ageless attraction, even for those wary of religion itself.

In a striking shift amid declining trust in organized religion, a new Barna Group study signals a surge in Americans’ commitment to Jesus, with younger generations leading the charge. The research, part of the State of the Church 2025 initiative, finds 66% of U.S. adults affirm a personal commitment to Jesus that remains vital, a 12-point leap from 2021’s record low of 54%.

“This is the clearest trend we’ve seen in more than a decade pointing to spiritual renewal,” said David Kinnaman, CEO of Barna, noting the data equates to roughly 30 million more Jesus followers since 2021. “Undeniably, there is renewed interest in Jesus.”

'Dangerous precedent': Christian college opposes Colorado bill that would punish 'biblical convictions'

A think tank at a Christian college in Colorado is calling on the state’s Democrat-controlled Senate to reject legislation that could remove trans-identified children from their parents’ custody if they oppose trans medicalization, warning that it “sets a dangerous precedent by punishing those who live out their biblical convictions.”

In a statement provided to The Christian Post, the Centennial Institute at Colorado Christian University condemned House Bill 25-1312, a bill passed by the Democrat-controlled Colorado House of Representatives. The think tank also urged the Colorado Senate to reject the legislation. “HB25-1312 sets a dangerous precedent by punishing those who live out their biblical convictions,” said Greg Schaller, director of the Centennial Institute.

“Religious freedom doesn’t end when someone disagrees with Scripture. The sacred rights of conscience, which is fundamental to the United States Constitution, guarantees that the state cannot interfere with the rights of parents to raise their children in a manner consistent with their faith,” Schaller said.

What is Death?

There are many discussions on origin of life here.
Which begs the question what is life?

One parallel aspect of this should get more attention, is so What then is death?

At one time medical definitions were easier , because the ability to resussitate after a heart stopping was very limited.

Now as body function can be restored by shock, and machines can take over some functions , now medicine admits the answer is far from clear, and definitions also focus on brain function, but even that can seemingly cease and restart.

I am not going to reproduce any medical definitions or the difficulties in them here , I will let medics do that.

But I do suggest all read Dr Sam parnias “lucid dying “ as a summary of where we are at Medically.

The conclusion is consciousness is life, “ the part of you that says I am”
And that is not just a function of brain, and in as far as anyone can tell lives on after bodily death.
sonetimes it can come back to otherwise lifeless bodies. Sometimes not. The machine is turned off.

Consviousness beyond life - van lommel - explores Medical arguments and presents scientifuc longitudinal studies that so called out of body experiences are not hallucination, drug, anoxia or faith influenced Actual stats based on entire cardiac arrest populations, dont support any of the lazy assumptions.

I just urge all to study the subject . It is important because if life is consciousness “ soul” for what if a better word, and not just chemistry , all bets are off on the usual narrative on origin of life.

Does Christianity support and/or teach racism?

What is inherently moral about killing unborn children (a progressive cause), taking guns away from hunters who want to feed and protect said children (sensible gun regulation), and writing books with the specific interest of causing human beings to suffer in the name of preserving trees and animals?

God sets the moral standards for humanity in the Bible. Using any American political party or ideology as the standard of morality is idolatry.

It's not just the Catholic church, it's Galatians 3:28:

Galatians 3:28 said:
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is [a]neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

And:

Romans 10:12 said:
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;

And:

Not to mention the Great Commission to proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the earth, which means that all people are to be proclaimed the Gospel equally, and people from "every tribe, tongue, people, and nation" (Revelation 5:9) are a part of God's church.
Yes. Ironically, the secularists in public school (who are liberals) wanted to use the Crusades to blame racism on the Catholics, and then they wanted to blame racism on Christianity using the examples of North American conquering and African colonialism.

Having solid Scriptural research was important to break that lie down for them, as I’m Protestant and that’s what we do, memorize and quote Scripture. It would behoove you in an academic context to have the quote from the Magistrium or other Catholic sources where racism is described as an intrinsic evil. But it’s a point where the Catholics and Protestants actually agree.

If the guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. What makes you think criminals get their arms from the same place as hunters? They want arms/bullets that can’t be traced back to them and they need illegal equipment like silencers.

There are plenty of students who have been harassed at school for having hunting knives in their backpacks when they had no intent to use them to harm anyone. The difference between a hunter and a killer is psychological, it has nothing to do with the availability of equipment. Stopping school shooters is a matter of timely and accurate mental health treatment.

It also has to do with beliefs. All of the school shootings I’ve heard about are in public schools, not Christian or Catholic schools. Teaching young people proper beliefs and proper emotional regulation is how we stop people from committing atrocities and crimes.

No, I am speaking to believers in Christ as a caution about how we should approach politics. At no point should we allow our political beliefs to take priority over our faith in Christ. Enmeshing the two is also a trap, because neither American political party is fully aligned with Christian beliefs.

I am not criticizing Bloomberg, but rather providing the caution against making assumptions about his moral character based his political actions. Those actions can be done for personal gain or to appeal to others or improve appearance, common unbeliever motivations. Frankly, since he is an unbeliever, there is no good in him, truly, no matter how subtle he makes his evils.

This verse set describes the Jewish people, and I need go no further in my argument for Bloomberg, as he is one of them. Not that I would claim superiority; for I am nothing more than a lowly Gentile who is worse than this in a fallen state. I stand here in the power of the Holy Spirit and His gracious provision of training in Scripture and its meaning. Without that, I would be in a jail cell by now, I would be among the ones you fear. But Christ chose to save me instead.

Extrinsic evil is just another word for abuse and victimization, aka being sinned against. While I maintain that God not only has to save us from the sins we have committed, but also from the sins committed against us, that doesn’t change the fact that I believe that all evil is intrinsic. If someone punches me in the jaw, the evil of face punching is intrinsic to them.

Taking the idea of extrinsic evil too far supports Jungian and Freudian psychology, which is unbiblical because it maintains that man is basically good.

Therefore, man is basically evil, and Freud and Jung are wrong. I have an English B.A. and we studied the effects of Freudian and Jungian psychology on literature, so I’m actually professionally qualified to tell you at this point: Jung and Christ are oil and water, they contradict each other and they don’t mix.

This experience of secular college is why I have a hard time understanding how a Christian could ever take a liberal political position. On the other hand, I’ve suffered enough from conservatives withdrawing financial support, engaging in verbal and physical assault and telling me I deserved it for being stupid to get the picture that they weren’t exactly acting in my best interest either.

The line between victimization and stupidity has to be correctly evaluated on a case by case basis, because the abusers will always claim their victims deserved it. On the other hand, there is a difference between a bozo whining about his stock market losses and a mentally ill girl complaining about her father whining about her parents withdrawing financial support to force her to quit college. Saving stupid people doesn’t teach them anything. It just reinforces their laziness. Saving a real victim means the world to them, which I think you would know. It’s a big difference.

There is a lot of wrong packed into that paragraph.

"Secularists" (particularly in this context) are those that want to keep religion out of public schools, government and other public institutions. They are neither all "liberals" nor all non-Christians. (Far from it.) Secular public schools is literally my oldest political position and it goes back to around my First Communion. Promoting secularism in public institutions is not oppositoin to religion it is opposition to theocracy and trends toward theocracy.

Who uses the Crusades to blame racism on Catholics anywhere ever? I'd never even heard the notion until I read this post. Racism (and race) as we know it today is the product of colonial slavery and European colonialism. It has nothing to with the Crusades. Catholics had nothing to do with slavery in the British colonies as there were virtually no Catholics there.

Christianity didn't create slavery or racism, but it certainly did nothing to stop it for 200 years either.

This paragraph, like the rest of the post, has nothing to do with the topic of the thread, but it was so wrong.

A couple of dumb professors at the state university near me. It was a pretty simple correction for me to make. Christianity does not teach racism, so it’s a “correlation does not imply causation” type fallacy they were making. Since a lot of Europeans were Christians, and a lot of Europeans were racist, they assumed that Christianity caused the racism.

The crusades were about “racism against Islamic people” in their warped framework. They pointed to a selection of historical literature that had negative characterizations of the Arab people. What they forgot was that the Moors were invading Spain at the time. It’s not racist to call an enemy an enemy when you’re actually fighting them.

If you go too deep into believing racism as an ideology, any sort of European expansion outside of Europe is criminal, heaven forbid that any other culture conquer another, express any sense of superiority, or cause each other any inconvenience.

Which Trump doesn’t agree with, considering that he is causing other countries and cultures inconveniences with his tariff plan. It’s pretty obvious that he believes in American superiority at the expense of other countries and cultures. That his guiding philosophy.

Actually, Christianity has taught racism. It was even a major cause in the creation of the Southern Baptist Church (though it did not start there). The original trial judge in Loving v Virginia, the case that the Supreme Court used to invalidate bans on interracial marriage, used the Bible and his Christian faith to explain why miscegenation was illegal and was not UnConstitutional.

Yes, much has changed over the last 50 years but prior to that, since Christ's time, there have been major sects of Christianity that promoted racism. And you still see some today, in both much of the rhetoric against immigrants from Hispanic America and various forms of the Great Replacement Theory.

The Southern Baptist Church seems like a big deal in the American South, but it's not a "major sect."

The fact that the Southern Baptists were forced to separate themselves from American Baptists (which were opposed to slavery, and itself isn not a "major sect") is evidence that slavery is not a "Christian" doctrine any more than rejection of science is a "Christian" doctrine.

The SBC is still the largest Protestant denomination in the US.

The Southern Baptist Convention constitutes approximately 0.55% of the global Christian population.

Christians can be taken in by the lies of the world.

It should be sufficient to note The Scriptures I quoted earlier to confirm that racism was not what Our Lord Jesus Christ intended on the earth. That is the most important thing, and it should be sufficient guidance for Christians as we move forward. Christ wants to save people from every “tribe, tongue, people and nation.” That means we need to communicate with people of different skin colors and welcome them to the faith, not treat different people with partiality. James spoke of the need to be impartial in the church, and while he was addressing classism, I think it’s fair to say that about racism as well.

The "Curse of Ham" was something that was pretty widely preached, wasn't it?
The same with Manifest Destiny - which I would argue, at least in some regard, is still alive and well today.

To be clear: I'm not arguing that racism is encouraged in the NT scriptures. But I would agree that it is a part of the culture in some church denominations, like the SBC.

No. I was confined to a relatively small number of people in the southeast US after 1830.

That was never taught as Church doctrine. That was a political stance.

As I've mentioned, the SBC makes up half a percent of the Church.

It has some Biblical basis, but I would argue that it has been canceled by the blood of Christ, just like the Genesis 3 curse on women got canceled when Mary gave birth to Jesus. (The context of the latter curse was women throwing themselves at their husbands for centuries in hope of giving birth to the Savior of The World from sin.) Likewise, the male curse of toiling for bread has also been largely canceled by the advent of modern technology.

Even if the Curse of Ham was still in effect, Christians should not be adding to it. We are called to show mercy to those who are suffering, not dominate and control like Rehoboam.

The Manifest Destiny is just unbiblical fantasy forged into existence by violent imperialism. Nowhere does God speak to the North American continent in the Scriptures, which means that these continents aren’t included in God’s plan except as a place to house believers in Christ.

I’m not sure that the SBC even teaches racism these days. Do they? I know that my non-denominational sector does not, and I thought we were a spin-off of the SBC branch tree. Likewise, I went to a Baptist church in my hometown for a Sunday, and while the teaching was NOT up to par for us non-denominational intellectuals, I don’t recall any racism being said.

(Also, I know this discussion is fascinating, but we need to get back on topic.)
We got off topic in another thread down in American politics, so I have started a new thread for those who want to continue debating and exploring this question.

Wrestling

Genesis 32:22-28
Jacob wrestled with the Lord. It wasn't a test of physical strength but an encounter for a higher purpose.
The encounter is an anchor in scripture defined by a name change, from a deceiver to a prince. We can all identify for our old man needs a name change. We also must wrestle to obtained the blessing, for character is not a gift but a victory.
We are sons by birth but it takes an adoption to realize the full inheritance.
Our wrestling probably won't employ a physical contest but the purpose - the outcome - will be the same 'perseverance'.
God may wake us up early in the morning for an appointment to wrestle but we may turn over in bed because we are too tired or we have too much to do tomorrow.
But God will not be put off. If we fail in our first appointment God may raise up some circumstantial conflict in our lives or even allow the devil to take a poke at our health. However it has to be God will get our attention to accomplish His purpose.
Scripture says, count it all joy when you encounter diverse trials and troubles - because the Lord hasn't forgotten you.

Don't blame the EU: America has decades of ORDERING the EU to NOT build an EU army!

Trumpism has rewritten history. The EU is apparently guilty of 'freeloading' off the US.
But it's all lies motivated by sheer and utter GREED!

Let me explain. AMERICA has repeatedly shown that Europe is NOT ALLOWED to become a military super-power in their own right! This from the end of WW2, through to the Suez Canal crisis where America sided with the USSR to stop Britain and the EU acting in the Middle East in their own national interests, through to Madeline Albright and even Obama threatening the viability of NATO if the EU ever formed their own Military Industrial Complex. An EU army? "Don't you DARE!" Click on "The EU made Simple" below for more.

1744596337017.png

So why the nagging to increase military spending - would that not also increase their independence from America? Absolutely not. American domination over NATO has created the divided and 'specialised' EU military policy we see today. This keeps the EU utterly dependent on American air refuelling super-tankers, heavy lift aircraft, and GPS targeting. American policy demands NATO fall into line behind American geopolitical strategic goals. EU - stand back - Uncle Sam is leading this and don't you DARE form your own united command and Military Industrial Complex. Why? Because America pulls NATO's strings. It's about power and control across Europe, and not letting the EU get any ideas of competing.

So how do we explain Obama asking the EU to increase military spend 2% and Trump asking for 5%? The answer? Greed. The 'specialisation' policy has kept the EU dependent on American Made. Look at the image below.
1744598455987.pngThis is on a national basis, but it averages out that the EU buys 64% of all military hardware from America. This is 105 TIMES more than America invests in NATO!

So when JD Vance says "I just hate bailing Europe out again" by all means wince for him in embarrassment - and maybe write to him and ask him to read some history. But don't believe him - because he's drunk the Trump Cool Aid.

On the other hand - maybe that was all a song and dance for show amongst colleagues? Maybe he's also in on 'it'. Maybe he knows.
JD's support for far-right parties in Europe indicates he is fully aware that it is in America's interest to keep the EU divided (sorry - that's 'specialised' according to America's dogma.) It seems they need to MAGA by keeping the EU divided and dependent on American Made.

How many oligarch mates does Trump have in aerospace companies?

Finally, maybe the one good thing from all this with Trump threatening to pull out of NATO and his generally belligerent attitude to trade with old allies, is that maybe this will FORCE the EU to unite.

If they manage to do so, and form their own Military Industrial Complex that one day actually competes with America, you know who to blame.

Save Act Passes!

House passes bill to require proof of citizenship to register to vote, drawing ire of voting rights groups

In a vote on Thursday, the House of Representatives passed the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, a bill Republicans have celebrated but that has drawn the ire of voting rights groups and most congressional Democrats.

Greater job! Their why the Republicans are polling almost 100% higher than Democrats. Will there be Democratic Senators who are brave enough to?

The Senate Democrats Who Could Cross the Aisle on the SAVE Act

Senator John Fetterman, a Pennsylvania Democrat who has been willing to break ranks on some issues, hasn't said how he plans to vote on the bill.

Democratic Senators Ruben Gallego and Mark Kelly of Arizona, Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire and Jacky Rosen of Nevada have also not said where they stand on the bill.

"HAPPY EASTER!" DJT

"This Holy Week, Christians around the World remember the Crucifixion of God’s Only Begotten Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and, on Easter Sunday, we celebrate His Glorious Resurrection and proclaim, as Christians have done for nearly 2,000 years, “HE IS RISEN!”

Through the pain and sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, we saw God’s boundless Love and Devotion to all Humanity and, in that moment of His Resurrection, History was forever changed with the Promise of Everlasting Life.

As we approach this Joyous Easter Sunday, I want to wish Christians everywhere a Happy and very Blessed Holiday. America is a Nation of Believers. We need God, we want God and, with His help, we will make our Nation Stronger, Safer, Greater, more Prosperous, and more United than ever before. Thank you, and HAPPY EASTER!" DJT 37m ago

Trump promotes Christianity

Donald Trump just posted on his Truth Social media platform a statement that promotes Christianity and makes him appear like a genuine Christian. When was the last time a Democratic President made a similar statement???

How could Trump say something like this if he was truly Satanic ?

Can't practice faith, and of all days, today.

Hi, I had one of the worst days ever. My dad woke me up after only one hour sleep just to bark about nothing. He would not let me sleep for literally 5 hours later, and I don't even know if I fell asleep after that. My head is off. My brother used religion against me by saying "You're religious right? In the New Testament Jesus said we could worship him any day of the week" and "You can always go tomorrow instead" and I hung up on him. My dad has been refusing to get out of bed and drink or eat anything and it's been 9 hours since he woke me up. I'm tempted to leave him home and let him deal with it. My brother is trying to make counseling appointments for my dad directly in conflict with Holy Week when we have the physical/occupational therapists coming over already, plus we are trying to get a hold of the heart doctor (hard to get a hold of) to adjust his statin dosage, and my brother won't wait one more week for the dust to settle. He believes that my "religious days" can always be replaced. I may miss Palm Sunday and I *never ever* wanted to do that, EVER. By the looks of it, I can't go to Holy Thursday or Good Friday, and while the latter two are "optional," it still breaks my heart and I can easily see Easter being sabotaged too. AND NO ONE AROUND ME IS GIVING A RATS AZZ ABOUT IT! I am AFRAID TO TELL ANYONE AT CHURCH because I'm worried they may think I'm not doing enough to choose Jesus over all other obstacles.

Is it wrong to be disgusted by how overly sexual the world has gotten?

Rhetorical question, i know it's not wrong to know such a thing. But i need to get something off of my chest.
I just am sickened with how normalized it is for people to be lust filled freaks nowadays. It's a major disrespect to women (And men if they're the target of lust) especially those who are and want to be chaste. I try to teach people chastity but every time i get demonized for it, demonized for rejecting one of the seven deadly since and wanting the world to embrace one of the seven heavenly virtues instead. People would rather spread their disgusting fantasies and fetishes. It's not normal for people to look at a female and immediately think about sex or anything worse, it's a mental illness that has become accepted when it shouldn't have. People nowadays, even more so online, just can't seem to have respect, empathy or compassion, they would rather spread their own filth for personal game and attack anyone who fight back because they have been so consumed by their dens of sin to actually think with their souls.
As an aspiring creator this is a major reason why i refuse to create anything until this virus of lust has been cured from this world.
I know that we as a society really need to talk about this as it has been harming our community for far too long now and it has gotten worse with people online being more open to their sexual assault fetishes, women in real life getting harassed, especially streamers and such filth getting spread to even kids all around the world.

Liberal Catholic Churches

Because I'm working this weekend, I will not be able to attend the Palm Sunday service at my church (Anglican). I am exploring options that offer evening services, and it looks like there are two. One of them is a parish of the American National Catholic Church. From what I've read, it seems like they're a liberal implementation of post-Vatican II Catholicism. Obviously, they're not in communion with Rome. Does anyone here have any experience with churches of this variety?

Should a Christian's life be "a certain way"?

For example, should a Christian live all day for Christ, completely enslaved to others, without even a moment for themselves or to pursue any personal hobby they desire?
Why does the thought cross my mind that God enslaves and demands too many things? Is that true, or am I getting off topic?
Sometimes I think about the people who participate in events every day, for example, charity events or evangelization events, and I wonder why I don't enjoy these events or being with my brothers and sisters, but rather see it as torturous and enslaving work, rather than pleasure...
Is this something I should be concerned about?
What should a Christian's life be like? Does it have to be sacrificial and suffering like Jesus's, or is the idea that only Christians work and rest on their days off valid?
Do we have to be evangelizing all day?
Does God want us to have some time for ourselves?
Why do I have the idea that God is a torturing ogre?
I just want to live a life of basic responsibilities. That is, I want to learn from Jesus and apply his teachings to my life and please him, but I also want time for myself...
For example, some brothers and sisters say, "I want Jesus to find me serving when he returns." My question is... why? What would happen if God found them doing something else? (Something that isn't sinful, of course).
