  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trump Mar-a-Lago security aide flips after changing lawyers

Prosecutors: Trump Mar-a-Lago security aide flipped after changing lawyers

A Trump employee who monitored security cameras at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate abruptly retracted his earlier grand jury testimony and implicated Trump and others in obstruction of justice just after switching from an attorney paid for by a Trump political action committee to a lawyer from the federal defender’s office in Washington, prosecutors said in a court filing Tuesday.

The aide — described as “Trump Employee 4” in public court filings but identified elsewhere as Yuscil Taveras — held the title of director of information technology at Mar-a-Lago. He initially testified to a grand jury in Washington, D.C., that he was unaware of any effort to erase the videos, but after getting the new attorney “immediately … retracted his prior false testimony” and detailed the alleged effort to tamper with evidence related to the investigation of the handling of classified information stored at Trump’s Florida home, the new submission said.

Taveras’ reversal led directly to new charges against Trump that Smith’s prosecutors included in a superseding indictment issued by a federal grand jury in Miami last month, detailing alleged efforts to erase the security camera recordings, prosecutors said. Nauta had been charged in the initial indictment, but de Oliveira was added as a defendant only in the revised indictment.

In an apparent bid to assuage any continuing concerns by Cannon about a grand jury hundred of miles away working on matters related to the case she is handling, Smith’s team informed her that the D.C. grand jury officially completed its work Aug. 17.

To Halt Ibis Extinction Austrian Man Shows Birds a New Migration Route With His UltraLight–And it’s Working

An Austrian ornithologist has pioneered an incredible way of wildlife rehabilitation by fostering chicks of an endangered species before re-instituting their migratory practice by leading them along their natural migration route with an ultralight aircraft.

The method was developed to help reconnect the northern bald ibis, a bird that was extirpated in Europe 400 years ago, with its summer-winter migration pattern from northern Europe to its sunny southern climes.

The history of these ibises is long, and by the time the Pilgrims sighted land on Plymouth Rock, Europeans had eaten probably all of them. Fortunately, other colonies survived in West and East Africa, and some in the Fertile Crescent.

New Member-- maybe?

Hello all.... I think I may have been a member here before, but have lost track and couldn't find a profile. I think I was even a site supporter (?) but I'm happy to join or rejoin, as the case may be. I'm also on another one of Doughty's sites (christianity board).

This site seems to have greater traffic and perhaps an improved platform (with options for site supporters).

Looking forward to interacting here.

A biblical argument against Friendship Evangelism

Here is something I have been thinking about for some time now. Let me know your thoughts on it. First, I should probably say what I believe are the different types of evangelism that I am going to speak about.

Definitions:
Open Evangelism: When the Gospel is said within the first encounter. Often used in street evangelism, or in one-to-one evangelism in parks.
Friendship Evangelism: Where you create a relationship with the goal of eventually telling the Gospel to the person.
Relational Evangelism: Where you make a friend in your everyday life with no ulterior motive of sharing the Gospel. Such as meeting someone at work or school, and you become friends. Then, when the time is right, you tell them the Gospel.

Now onto the topic:
Sharing the Gospel can be a scary thing. The reason for this is, before you give the Good News, you should give the bad news first. So, show the sinner that they have broken Gods law. They have lied, stolen, blasphemed and done many other things that are against God. Show them that they are guilty and need a saviour. If we don't show them that they are guilty, then they will not see their need for a saviour. Then after we have shown them, we should tell them the Good News. So, show them the symptoms first of their illness, their condemnation, and then show them the cure. Then they should then run for the cure. By doing this you are being straight up and honest.
Open evangelism does this straight up. It is not hidden. It does not beat around the bush. And it is putting faith in the Gospel, that it has the power to bring people to salvation.

In friendship evangelism, our goal is to share the Gospel, but we do not want to let the unsaved person know that they are a sinner straight away. That would be offensive to show that they are a bad person, and it would not be conducive towards making a friend. So, we want to get alongside them and create a relationship. We get closer and closer to the person until we finally feel comfortable enough to say the Gospel. This, in a way, is deceptive friendship as your main goal is not to be the persons friend but to tell them the Gospel. The motive of the friendship is not straight up and true. It is hidden.

I recently read Proverbs 27:5 which pretty much says that we should be straight up. Here is the verse. "Open rebuke is better than love carefully concealed."
So, my question is, is friendship evangelism being like love carefully concealed? Is it better to be honest and straight up?

I do realise that in life we do make friends, and often we do not tell them the Gospel straight away. But this is quite normal in life, and this is fine. In many instances, it is silly to say the Gospel straight away when you meet someone. I would hate to tell the Gospel at a job interview. So, in life we make friends naturally and then over time, we may get to tell the Gospel. This is real friendship, and it is real relational evangelism. So, no hidden agenda. But many churches have specialised in making friends with the hope that there will be a time to say the Gospel. They put this above saying the Gospel openly. Many churches even say that society has changed and so we need to do friendship evangelism now. They say that one to one in the parks does not work. It scares people away.

So, once again, is friendship evangelism being like love carefully concealed? Is it better to be honest and straight up? Are churches that are teaching friendship evangelism wrong for not putting enough faith in the power of the Gospel?

Excluding Farmer's Market Vendor for Refusing to Host Same-Sex Weddings

...
The City of East Lansing requires vendors for its Farmer's Market to comply with the City's public policy against discrimination. Country Mill Farms offers to rent a portion of its property [which is not connected with the Farmer's Market] for weddings. Country Mill Farms, however, will not rent the property for same-sex weddings...
...
The court noted that "Defendant's 2017 decision to deny Plaintiffs' application substantially burdened Plaintiffs' free exercise of religion":
...
The court acknowledged that "neutral and generally applicable" policies don't violate the Free Exercise Clause, but held that the City's policy wasn't neutral and generally applicable because it contained discretionary exemptions:
...
The court also concluded that the policy wasn't neutral or generally applicable because it included exemptions for certain secular reasons:

I believe that more and more the courts are once again recognizing that religious rights are just as important as other life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness rights of living free. They are recognizing that religious liberty is just as important to some people as the freedom to follow no religion is to others. The answer is not to force Christians to live as non-Christians or the other way around.

Biden taps new White House counsel to thwart GOP probes as legal pressure mounts

President Biden on Tuesday said he has chosen Ed Siskel, who shielded President Obama from House Republican probes, to serve as his next White House counsel amid a slew of judicial and congressional investigations.

Mr. Siskel’s appointment comes as Mr. Biden faces a special counsel investigation into his alleged mishandling of classified government documents, a special counsel probing his son Hunter Biden and House Republicans press forward with investigations into the president and his family’s business dealings.

Some Republican lawmakers even have talked about impeaching Mr. Biden, complicating what is already a critical stage in the president’s reelection campaign.

Is it possible not to sin anymore?

Matthew 5:
48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

1 Corinthians 10:
13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Theoretically, it is possible to live a sinless life. In practice, Romans 7:
18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.
By the grace of God, when we fail, we confess and repent. God will forgive. We can only take it one day at a time. Hopefully, our spiritual condition next year will be better this year.

1 John 3:
9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.

We are encouraged in Genesis 5:
24 Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.

We have been given the Paraclete. Walk in the Spirit with God.

How Would Our Ancestors View the 21st Century?

The best article I've read in a long time.

There's nothing we can do to turn this whole thing around, of course; Western Civilization is going to self-destruct, completely implode, and evaporate from relevance in the world, and all that any of us who see it coming can do is to order our own lives rightly and stay as uncorrupted as possible.

Creating trust in a source

Have you wondered why people who are Jehovah's witnesses or Christadelphians or Mormons stick with their religion despite the many flaws in those religions?

Is it because the members have been trained to trust the religion as the source of truth about God and heaven and salvation?

I think it might be. I have had experience with former Jehovah's witnesses in the days and years immediately following their escape from the false religion that they had been following. And one thing was clear, despite knowing how deceived they had been and knowing the many poison chalices they had been given from which to drink, they nevertheless still trusted "the organisation" TO PRODUCE RELIABLE AND TRUE BIBLE TEACHING.. They still used the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures to check claims about the bible's teaching. They had acquired a habit of reading the NWT and relying upon it that was too strong for them to easily abandon.

If you have a NWT take some time to read it, especially the passages you rely upon for the doctrines that are most dear to you. Seen what slant that mistranslation produces on the verses you know so well.

When will you see the abomination of desolation?

Daniel 11:
31 Forces from him shall appear and profane the temple and fortress, and shall take away the regular burnt offering. And they shall set up the abomination that makes desolate.
Antiochus IV Epiphanes (meaning "God Manifest") was a Greek Hellenistic king who ruled the Seleucid Empire from 175 BC until his death in 164 BC. He prosecuted the Jews.

Benson Commentary:
We are informed by Josephus, by the author of the Maccabees, and others, that Antiochus’s soldiers entered the temple and plundered it, and that afterward he ordered that the Jews should not be suffered to offer up the daily sacrifices, which, according to the law, they were accustomed to offer; that he compelled them also to omit their worship of the true God, and to pay divine honours to them whom he regarded as gods, and to make shrines in every city and village, and to build altars, and daily to sacrifice swine upon them: see Joseph. Antiq. lib. 12. cap. 5, sec. 4. And they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate — In the Scriptures, idols are commonly called abominations. This was a prediction of the great profanation Antiochus should cause to the temple, in placing an idol upon the altar of burnt- offerings: see 1Ma 6:54; 1Ma 6:59. It is probable, that the idol was Jupiter, because we find that they dedicated the temple anew to Jupiter Olympus: see 2Ma 6:2. It is here called the abomination that maketh desolate, because it banished the true worship of God, and his worshippers, from the place.

Daniel’s prophecies about the abomination of desolation was at least a partial fulfillment in 167 BC. Jesus spoke further on the prophecy and warned the Jews in Luke 21:
20“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near. 21Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it.
This time, it was the Romans. Titus, before he became the Emperor, besieged Jerusalem in 70 AD. A few months later, Roman forces set fire to the temple.

A parallel account was in Mark 13:
14a “But when you see the abomination [neuter] of desolation [feminine] standing [masculine] where he ought not to be (let the reader understand).
Mark was talking about a man. After Jerusalem fell, Titus stood in the destroyed temple.

Another parallel account was in Matthew 24:
15 “So when you see the abomination [neuter] of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing [neuter] in the holy place (let the reader understand),
Matthew was talking about the abomination itself which could refer to the Roman ensigns, Benson:
We learn from Josephus, that after the city was taken, the Romans brought their ensigns into the temple, and placed them over against the eastern gate, and there sacrificed to them.
There may yet be another fulfillment in the future, Matthew 24 continues:
19 alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 20Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.

When do you see the abomination of desolation?

170 BC Antiochus IV Epiphanes was one possibility. 70 AD Titus was another. There could be yet a future possibility.

The Lord's Prayer: My translation

In Matthew 6:9–13, Jesus told us that this is how we should pray:

Code:
O our Father in the heavens,
   hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will come to pass—
as in heaven also on earth.
Give us this day our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts,
as we also forgive our debtors.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
Amen.

Strange Bedfellows

Blocking, stalking, fans are flocking,
Strange bedfellows, they’re not knocking.
Peeking through the windows plenty,
As if love they ain’t got any.

Window chasers, they are gazers,
Destitute, they are debasers.
Lusts a plenty, not without,
They go there, without a doubt.

All is for them, them not caring,
Who it is on they are staring,
Self-indulging, wasted effort,
They are hiding, not transparent.

Loving others not their practice,
Selfishness, their apparatus.
Think of self and not of others,
Not their spouses, not their brothers.

Them professing Christ as Savior,
Does not do them any favor.
They’re not willing to obey Him,
They do not, in truth, believe Him.

Words a plenty, not in action,
Lusts of flesh are their distraction.
Jesus Christ says, “I not knew you,
Depart from Me, evil you do.”

A Poem I Wrote

"The Lamb Who is a Shepherd"

The Lamb on the altar
Will be slaughtered in blood
But does even this in peace
By doing what He should
He's betrayed with a kiss

The words in our own head
He numbers all our hairs
And we have to respond
By our inclinations
He's the all-knowing One

The devil of this world
He causes us trouble
And does so willingly
From lying and killing
He's assailed by the Lamb

The news of the Lamb spreads
He gives us the lessons
And we walk as He does
By His self-sacrifice
He's the perfect shepherd

Did God create any creature with the plan to hate it?

Some maintain that God has an eternal plan that encompasses everything that happens in creation; this plan, sometimes called God's eternal decree, includes the final disposition of every creature, some to heaven, some to hell, some not mentioned specifically. Do the scriptures teach that God has an eternal decree, is it detailed and inclusive of the final disposition of every creation, and does it imply that God intends for some creatures to end up in hell and that God intended them to be hell-bound from eternity?

Struggling with my relationship - when is enough enough?

Hi all,
I have been in a serious relationship with my boyfriend for one year and three months. We both attend university, so half of the time we have a long-distance relationship, which we have made work. He is a Christian and a significant factor in my coming to faith, including my baptism a few months ago.
We have had our issues. He confessed to me about an issue with p*rn that he has struggled with, he hasn't been able to find any work over the summers, and in general is a lot less mature and independent than I am. My parents recently moved to a different continent and so I am experiencing a level of independence that most do not at my age of 19, basically a housewife. I have always had struggled with my mental health and am on 40mg antidepressants daily. I go to a no.1 ranked university and do my best to have a strong work ethic, whereas my boyfriend struggles with completing assignments on time, punctuality, etc. He games a significant amount.
We have had our struggles but I feel like I am leaving him behind. We've talked about marriage and children, down to even picking names. He is looking for engagement rings. There have been several times where I have felt that I just don't feel like I can keep things going. In addition, looking to the future, my prospects seem brighter, and could very likely end up being breadwinner in addition to a majority of childcare and housework.
He is sweet and a devout Christian, and I adore his family. I just don't know. So many times, I feel like I've been at a breaking point, outwardly telling him that I will need support, which I don't always feel like I receive.
We communicate well and have had these tough conversations in the past. I'm at a loss - are my doubts the result of the Devil? Or is God pointing me towards a different future? I don't know. I can't tell if I am selfish and envious.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Blessings be upon you <3

How unbearable would hell be?

Hi I was wondering what the hell that most people would be going to would be like. Apparently with earthly torture "Going too far, too fast with torture can simply desensitize people". Could people also get used to the suffering in hell or is the point to be in an agony that you'd never get used to? I'm wondering what Christians believe the Bible says about this.

It's Time to STOP, TURN AROUND, and RETURN to YHVH (The Days of Awe)

The month of "Elul" A time for self-examination, reflection, "Days of Awe" and time to ask ourselves "How is my relationship with God?"

It's time to STOP, TURN AROUND, and RETURN to the LORD!

The month of "Elul" started on the 18th of this month. Erev Shabbat. It is a time to think about God's mercy (Rachamim) his forgiveness, (Selichot) and grace (Chen). We are looking at and going through 40 days of "Awe" culminating on Yom Kippur, in the month of Tishrei (towards the end of September).

We should ask ourselves these questions: Is my relationship with God on the "up and up?" Is my family relationship good? Is there secret sin in my life that I have not confessed? Have I gotten off the straight and narrow road and now I am in the thorn bushes? If I were to die right now, would the LORD welcome me with open arms with the words "Well done my faithful servant?" or would he have a paddle in his hand ready to tan my fanny about 1000 times?

All these are questions we should ask ourselves including "Have I offended others and have not asked forgiveness?" We would probably have to answer yes to many of these questions. So, it is time for "Teshuvah" or "Shoov" which means "turn around, have a change of mind and go the other way" towards the LORD once again.

"Elul" has 4 letters, both in Hebrew and in English. the number "4" can mean the 4 corners of the world. All inhabitants of the 4 corners of the world should take time now and reflect on their personal relationship with Adonai. The Hebrew gematria of "Elul" is 67. This is also the gematria of the word "Binah" (understanding). We need to "understand" that our relationship with the LORD is real and if we are lacking, we need to make amends and return to our first love.

The word "Elul" also has the acronyms for the Song of Solomon 6:3 "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine" "Ani L'Dodi V'Dodi Li"
If we are HIS beloved, then, if we have strayed away from the bridegroom, we need to come back. The number "67" in gematria can also be added up to "13" (6 + 7) This reminds us of the 13 attributes of Adonai, which include; mercy, forgiveness, and longsuffering grace. (Rachamim, Selichah, and Chen) (Exodus 34:6-7)

According to the great sage Rambam, there are 4 steps to "returning" (Teshuvah) 1. realizing our error (sin) 2. abandon our sinful ways 3. Confession of our sin to God, or to the person we have offended, 4. Resolve not to repeat our sinful act. The woman caught in the act of adultery is a good example. (In the New Testament).

Here are some good Bible verses to read during this time of "Elul" that speak of "returning;"

Psalm 27; Deut 30:2; Jeremiah 3:12-15; Joel 2:13; Hosea 14:1; Zechariah 1:3; Nehemiah 1:9; Job 22:23; Isaiah 59:20;55:7

Here are some good Bible verses that speak on "mercy and grace"

Proverbs 28:13; Psalm 145:8; Ephesians 2:4-5; Luke 6:36;

Here is something interesting about the Hebrew word "Rachamim" (mercy, merciful) it comes from the root word "rechem" which means "womb" The mother protects her child inside her womb, since the child is part of her, yet also, separate from her. So therefore, the LORD wishes to protect us within the confines of his WORD. And wants HIS Word to be part of us, yet wandering away from HIS Word, is to go beyond his protection. (the "ch" in Hebrew is pronounced like an "h")

So, be mindful of these days of "awe" yet we are free to "shoov" anytime, 24-7. God's heart is always open.

Shalom.... Ben Avraham

Faith Not of Our Own Doing

Ephesians 2:8-10 ESV

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

So, what is God’s grace to us? It is his kindness towards us, his favor. It is him leaning towards us to share his benefit with us. It is Jesus Christ freely extending himself to give himself away to people, freely extending Himself (His favor, grace), reaching (inclining) to people because He is disposed to bless (be near) them (source: biblehub.com interlinear).

And how did Jesus Christ extend himself to us to show us his favor? He who was God in the flesh (both man and God) willingly gave himself up for us by dying on a cross for our sins. For he who knew no sin became sin for us on that cross so that when he died, our sins died with him, so that by his grace, and by God-persuaded faith in Jesus Christ, we might die with him to sin and live to his righteousness, and that we might live for him and no longer for ourselves, and that we might now honor him with our bodies (our lives).

[1 Peter 2:24; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 2 Corinthians 5:15; Romans 6:1-23]

So, God’s grace to us is not just forgiveness of sins and a free ride into heaven, as many would have you believe today. For God’s grace, which is bringing us salvation, trains us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives while we wait for our Lord’s soon return. For Jesus Christ “gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works” (see Titus 2:11-14; cf. Ephesians 2:10).

And what is faith? It means faithfulness, belief, trust, confidence, and fidelity. So it means being faithful to God/Christ as a bride should be faithful (pure, unadulterated) in her relationship with her husband (and vice versa). And it means to be persuaded (convinced, converted, won over) by God (see John 6:44). And it is the divine persuasion of God’s will for our lives. And so what will he persuade us about? He will persuade us as to his holiness and righteousness, and of our sinfulness, and of our need to repent (to turn from our sins) and to follow him in obedience and in godly living.

And what else should we know about faith? Jesus Christ is the originator and the perfecter of that faith, and the faith to believe in Jesus comes from God, and it is gifted to us by God, and it is not of our own doing. So we don’t get to determine what that faith looks like. God does, and he reveals that to us through his written word. For he defined faith as obedience to him, and he defined disobedience as unbelief. And Jesus said if we would come after him that we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin and to self) and follow (obey) him, for if we don’t, we will lose our lives for eternity.

[Hebrews 12:1-2; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Luke 9:23-26; Romans 6:1-23; Matthew 7:21-23]

So many people are quoting only verses 8-9 and they are leaving out verse 10 which is critical to the whole meaning of this passage, as is the whole chapter 2 of Ephesians, and as is the entire book of Ephesians. And so they pull verses 8 and 9 out of context and then they teach a false doctrine of salvation from those two verses which is permeating the church here in America. For so many are being taught that they don’t have to do anything but that God does it all, and so they have the understanding that nothing really has to change in their lives, and so many are continuing in sin.

But God didn’t say no works are required of us. He said the opposite. What he said is that we can’t be saved by our own works of our own flesh. We can’t just do “good works” of our flesh and think God is going to accept them, which is what the Pharisees were doing. But we are saved to do the good works of God which God prepared in advance that we should walk in them, that these works of God should now be our practice. And obedience to our Lord and to his commands (New Covenant) and living holy lives, and not in sin, are required of God for our salvation and eternal life with God.

[Matt 7:21-23; Matt 24:9-14; Lu 9:23-26; Rom 1:18-32; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14,24; Rom 12:1-2; Rom 13:11; 1 Co 6:9-10,19-20; 2 Co 5:10,15,21; 1 Co 1:18; 1 Co 15:1-2; 2 Tim 1:8-9; Heb 9:28; 1 Pet 1:5; Gal 5:16-21; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 2:8-10; Eph 4:17-32; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:5-17; 1 Pet 2:24; Tit 2:11-14; 1 Jn 1:5-9; 1 Jn 2:3-6,24-25; 1 Jn 3:4-10; Heb 3:6,14-15; Heb 10:23-31; Heb 12:1-2; Rev 21:8,27; Rev 22:14-15]

For, again, Jesus Christ did not give himself up for us on that cross just to forgive us our sins so that when we die we get to go to heaven. He died to transform our lives and to deliver us out of our slavery to sin and to empower us to live holy and godly lives, pleasing to him, in his power. Yet, if we don’t repent of our sins, and if we continue in deliberate and habitual sin, and we do not obey our Lord’s commandments under the New Covenant, in practice, and if we don’t walk in righteousness, then we do not have eternal life with God and heaven is not our eternal destiny. Please believe this!

We’ve a Story to Tell to the Nations

By H. Ernest Nichol, 1896

We've a story to tell to the nations,
that shall turn their hearts to the right,
a story of truth and mercy,
a story of peace and light,
a story of peace and light.

We've a song to be sung to the nations,
that shall lift their hearts to the Lord,
a song that shall conquer evil
and shatter the spear and sword,
and shatter the spear and sword.

We've a message to give to the nations,
that the Lord who reigneth above
has sent us His Son to save us,
and show us that God is love,
and show us that God is love.

We've a Savior to show to the nations,
who the path of sorrow has trod,
that all of the world's great peoples
may come to the truth of God,
may come to the truth of God.

For the darkness shall turn to dawning,
and the dawning to noonday bright,
and Christ's great kingdom shall come on earth,
the kingdom of love and light.

Does the LORD regret?

Impassibility describes the theological doctrine that God does not experience pain or pleasure from the actions of another being. God, in this divine attribute, does not feel sad. However, as an anthropomorphism, he does, Genesis 6:
6 the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.

Another example in 1 Samuel 15:
10 The word of the LORD came to Samuel: 11“I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following me and has not performed my commandments.” And Samuel was angry, and he cried to the LORD all night.
In terms of anthropomorphism, the LORD regrets.
29 And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or have regret, for he is not a man, that he should have regret.”

In terms of divine attributes, he does not regret anything since he is omniscient.

35b And the LORD regretted that he had made Saul king over Israel.
Anthropomorphism again.

Does the LORD regret?

In terms of anthropomorphism, yes, he often communicates to human beings in a convention that we can understand.
