No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. Trump Personally Tried to Kill Story of His Birthday Letter to Epstein

Trump Personally Tried to Kill Story of His Birthday Letter to Epstein

A new report reveals how Donald Trump got wind The Wall Street Journal was going to report on his birthday letter to Jeffrey Epstein—and how he tried to stop the story from getting published.

The Journal has reported that when Trump first heard about its plans to cover his strange, sultry 50th birthday letter to Epstein, he told aides that it didn’t exist, never happened, and called News Corp chair emeritus Rupert Murdoch personally from Air Force One to get the story pulled. After the story was published anyway, he denied that the letter existed and sued Dow Jones, the Journal’s publisher. (The letter was later released.)

Am I doing the will of God by helping clean up the ocean?

I enjoy going for a swim, I will pick up any trash I find whenever I can. I thought of dedicating a full day to help clean up the ocean, or would God want this help to be towards helping people instead of the environment?

I have donated to charities that are about helping people, but I find I am really good at helping keep the ocean clean since I can scuba dive, and carry big things I find out of the ocean like a car tire, or whatever junk that has sunk to the bottom.

Pepper Sprayed While Evangelizing

Greetings, friends! Just wanted to share an experience my friend, Ricky, had while out and about evangelizing at Cleveland State University the other day.

He was talking with a young guy, and they were talking about abortion, crowd was gathering, and there was one gal who took out her pepper spray and sprayed Ricky in the face. He wasn't interacting with her or anything, she just didn't like what he had to say.

The police quickly caught her but he decided not to press any charges (I have mixed feelings about this).

Here's a picture and the video... Thoughts?

Let's continue to pray for safety (as this can happen to any one of us), for all the lost souls or that this gal will turn to Jesus before it's too late.

Majority of Americans Believe Democracy ‘Isn’t Working’

The new Quinnipiac University Poll released on Tuesday found 53% of citizens believe American democracy is not working right now, compared to 41% of Americans who believe the system is going fine.

Those on the left, unsurprisingly, were much more likely to say the figurative house is burning down, with 74% of polled Democrats saying “the system of democracy in the United States is not working”; only 22% of Republicans said it is not working, and 74% of GOP voters said there is no problem at all.

What do You Mean by Believe?

If you read it carefully, the Bible does not actually say that only Christians will have eternal life in Heaven.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus is the only way to the Father, but this does not tell us that we must be a Christian to go to the Father. It only tells us that those who go to the Father, will go there because of Christ.

According to John 3:16 we must believe in the Son of God to have everlasting life, but as Jordan Peterson might say, “what do you mean by God, and what do you mean by believe?”

Christians assume that a person must believe in Christianity. There must be repentance, but there must also be agreement with fundamental beliefs of the church.

A person who believes in a particular philosophy might say that they believe in the philosopher who developed the philosophy, The wife of the philosopher may say that she believes in him. Her statement of belief is a greater truth than the statements made by those who only believe in his philosophy. To truly believe in God, we should believe in who God is.

We see this very idea, two verses after John 3:16.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

We must believe in the name of the Son of God. Surely that doesn’t simply mean believing in the name “Jesus”.

A person’s name represents their essence. When a person is somehow transformed, they will sometimes change their name because they are now a different person.

Isaiah 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

God is absolute Righteousness greater than we can comprehend.

To believe in the name of God, we must believe in the essence of God which is righteousness. All good people believe in righteousness. That is what it means to be a good person. Perhaps that includes everyone, perhaps not, but all good people will have eternal life in Heaven because they believe in the name of the Son of God.

Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Saved from what? In the Bible, being saved often referred to being saved from something in this life.

Psalm 18:3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

Luke 7:50 And he said to the woman, thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

Luke 18:42 And Jesus said unto him, receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.

Jesus healed a blind man and told him that his faith had saved him, but the blind man was saved from a life of blindness. Every time the Bible talks of heaven, hell, judgment, or being saved it may be referring to judgment in this life which is called temporal judgment.

There are many interpretations of the Bible, all with some degree of Biblical support. It is noteworthy that the Bible can be interpreted to mean that Jesus will give eternal life to all good people on the Day of Judgment while our words and actions may still affect us in temporal judgment.

Luke 9:59-60 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

Temporal judgment, heaven in this life, is for the living not the dead.

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Repentance has to do with the kingdom of heaven, which is at hand, which is temporal judgment. Eternal Heaven is entirely a gift of Christ for all good people.

Hello from me

Hello, I am a Christian since 2007 after I immigrated from Germany. Met my husband there while he was in the Army stationed there and he introduced me to it. I went through hard times before I met him. Was forced into a marriage at 18 by my first husband and his family. Did get out of that when I was 20. Even a single mom raising my daughter on my own working two jobs which my ex husband denied being the father of. Things got better even when I went through the process of becoming a legal United States citizen. People around him, his family including him got me on track in the right direction helping out. My family whom still lives in Germany is glad my husband is in my life including my daughter

War Secretary Hegseth orders rare, urgent meeting of hundreds of generals, admirals Sep 30 in Virginia

AI Overview

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered an urgent and unprecedented gathering of hundreds of U.S. generals and admirals at a Marine Corps base in Virginia, causing widespread confusion within the Department of Defense. The unusual directive, which did not state a reason for the meeting, was sent to virtually all of the military's top commanders worldwide.

  • The rare meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia.
  • Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell confirmed the meeting, telling The Washington Post that Hegseth "will be addressing his senior military leaders early next week," but offered no further details.

5 Christians pushing back against Pam Bondi's 'hate speech' comments

United States Attorney General Pam Bondi is facing criticism for commentsshe made on “The Katie Miller Podcast” last week, where she declared, “There’s free speech and then there’s hate speech.” Bondi suggested that “there is no place” for hate speech in the U.S., “especially now, especially after what happened to” conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated earlier this month.

When Miller asked Bondi if she saw “law enforcement going after these groups who are using hate speech and putting cuffs on people,” the attorney general answered in the affirmative: “We will absolutely target you, go after you if you are targeting anyone with hate speech.”

Bondi has since walked back those comments, telling Axios that the attorney general's office won't be prosecuting citizens for hate speech, but would be pursuing "criminal groups or people that incite violence."

Are infants guilty because of Adam's sin?

This question is only for those holding to Reformed Theology. In the Westminster Confession (or London Baptist 1689) it mentions that infants who die are "regenerated and saved by Christ through the Spirit." But in my mind this is vague and possibly conflicts with scripture in implications; but sounds more like speculation to work around the "Original Sin" issue that even infants are guilty due to Adam's sin being imputed to them. I question this doctrine with a series of questions below.

I was prompted to this question by R.C. Sproul's survey results on the question "Are we born innocent" wherein 64% of evangelicals agreed. I was not appalled at that result (as Ligonier was), because I question the doctrine of imputed sin to people who have not sinned (infants). Essentially, I question the idea that Adam's sin is imputed to mankind, as distinct from Adam's sin nature is inherited by mankind.

These questions are all related, so there may appear some redundancy. I'm trying to get a handle on what the scripture actually states about the issue.

1. I don't see the scripture teaching the imputation of Adam's sin, but I do see it teaching the inheritance of the sinful nature (traducianism). If Augustine (and the confessions) mean these issues to be the same thing, then I think it imposes some confusion about the spiritual state of infants. Are these issues the same, or not?

2. If infants are guilty by imputation, then how do you interpret Rom. 7:9 and Rom. 4:15? It looks like these verses imply the innocence of infants (people who have not yet learned right and wrong). Exegesis would be helpful, or a link to interpretive commentaries.

Rom. 4:15 -

Rom. 7:9 -

3. It appears to me that innocence does not mean "basically good" or "not having a sin nature." In the teachings I have read on the subject, there appears to me some confusion, that teachers seem to make no distinction. So then, "having a sinful nature" does not necessarily mean a person is guilty, because "through the law comes the knowledge of sin." It seems to me that a person must know moral law, that is, know right from wrong, in order to be guilty of wrongs committed (per Rom. 4:15 and 7:9). If this is the case, then children too young to know right from wrong really are innocent. What do you think of this?

4. Do the confessions that say infants are regenerated, do they mean all infants, or does it mean only those who die? If it means only those who die, or even limited to only those elected to salvation, then when does the regeneration happen - before or after they die? There is an implication here. If they're saying that all infants are regenerated, then how can a regenerated person become spiritually dead after sinning? This is inconsistent with the idea that regenerated people are saved and can't lose their salvation. And if not all infants who die are regenerated, then how can God send them to hell when they have not sinned?

a. If infants are regenerated, then which ones are, and when does it happen?

b. If some infants who die are not regenerated, where do they end up and why?

This is enough for now, but discussion may lead to more questions.

Do You Know Him in Truth?

“By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, ‘I have come to know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked…
“The one who says he is in the Light and yet hates his brother is in the darkness until now. The one who loves his brother abides in the Light and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.” (1 John 2:3-6,9-11 NASB1995)

Biblical faith in Jesus Christ, which comes from God, and is not of our own doing, not of our human flesh, but which is gifted to us by God, and is persuaded of God, must result in us being crucified with Christ in death to sin, and us being raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin, but as slaves to God and to his righteousness, in walks of obedience to his commands. So if we claim faith in Jesus Christ, but sin is what we practice, and not obedience, we do not know God!

But sadly there are many professers of faith in Jesus Christ today who have been convinced that they are eternally secure in their salvation since they prayed the prayer to receive Christ, or they made a verbal acknowledgment of Christ as Lord and of his bodily resurrection. They have this false sense of security that their professions of faith alone serve like insurance, and that their sins no longer matter to God, and that God will not judge them for their sins since they “did the deed.” And so they keep on in their addictive sins.

Many of them are the self-indulgent, lovers of intoxication to sin, who think their deliberate sinful lifestyles will not prevent them from having salvation from sin and eternal life with God. And some or many of them are quite aware of what the Scriptures teach on this subject, so they are not naïve. They have just chosen “the path of least resistance,” i.e. they are choosing the easy way which leads to destruction rather than the narrow way, which leads to salvation from sin and eternal life with God (see Matthew 7:13-14).

So they hold on to their sins, and they continue to add sin upon sin to where their sins are piled up as high as heaven (see Revelation 18:4-5), while they refuse to biblically repent and to forsake their sins and to now walk in obedience to the Lord and to his commandments, in practice. So, for them, coming to faith in Jesus Christ is not in dying with Christ to sin and now walking in obedience to his commands, in the power of God, but it is Jesus forgiving their sins while they continue to clutch their sin treasures in hand.

But this isn’t just about them sinning against God deliberately and habitually, without conscience, while proclaiming Jesus as Savior and Lord, and God’s forgiveness of all their sins, and heaven as their eternal resting place. But this is about them sinning against their fellow humans, some of whom are their spouses, children, grandchildren, neighbors and even strangers. For they are vile, malicious, immoral, untrustworthy, and liars who sin habitually regardless of who gets hurt in the process. For this is about self-indulgence.

So, please understand here that the Scriptures do not teach that you can hold on to your pile of sins, and keep repeating the same sins over again, in direct disobedience to God, via hate for God and for all who you hurt by your deliberate sins, and then claim Jesus as your Lord as though you are in an intimate relationship with him. For Jesus said that not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God the Father who is in heaven (see Matthew 7:21-23).

Your bond is broken with your Lord and Savior
And your testimony is separate from Him.
Your words not matching your actions today.
Repent of your sin and bow down and pray.
Live what you testify in truth always.

Purity’s lacking in your life and witness,
For you profess one thing, but other you do.
Not moral, spiritual. Still of the flesh.
Not living in truth to what you confess.
Lying about it puts you in a mess.

Living a lie is your practice, ‘tis true of you.
Masquerade righteousness – none of it true.
Your heart is not given to your Lord God.
Because of how you live, you are a fraud.
Turn from your sin and give your life to God.

An IT Tool We All Need

It's an IT tool we all need -- one that, when given an article (online), creates a high level view version of it. It will offer several benefits to the user -- the biggest of which is the Reduction of Distractions.

Ideally, a summary will be presented for each paragraph. Each paragraph will be summarised. All you see initially is the summaries. Hence, it would be a good learning tool.

The original text will be hidden initially. They can be revealed through clicking a button. This will work like the "Group" feature in MS Excel.

All the ads and hyperlinks will be removed from the newly created page.

There are several benefits that it can offer to the user:
1. High level view
2. More motivated to read articles
3. Less distractions

Reduction of Distractions is what we all need today.

When You Have Done the Will of God

“But remember the former days, when, after being enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings, partly by being made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations, and partly by becoming sharers with those who were so treated. For you showed sympathy to the prisoners and accepted joyfully the seizure of your property, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and a lasting one. Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
“For yet in a very little while,
He who is coming will come, and will not delay.
But My righteous one shall live by faith;
And if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him.
But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.” (Hebrews 10:32-39 NASB1995)

All throughout the New Testament writings we are taught that our salvation from sin, which is God’s gift to us, and which is not of our own flesh, is conditional upon us dying to sin, by the Spirit, and us walking (in conduct) in obedience to our Lord and to his commands. For Jesus gave his life up for us on that cross to put our sins to death with him so that, by God-persuaded faith in him, we will now die to sin and walk in obedience to our Lord in the power and wisdom of God, as we yield control of our lives over to God.

And we are taught that if we go on sinning, and if sin remains our practice, and not obedience to our Lord and to his commands, that we will not inherit eternal life with God, regardless of what our lips have professed. So our salvation is not based on lip service only, and it is not this one-time thing that takes place in our lives which guarantees us heaven when we die, but regardless of how we live. Our salvation is progressive sanctification which we must continue in to the end for us to have heaven as our destiny.

[Matthew 10:22; John 8:31-32; John 15:1-12; Romans 8:24; Romans 11:17-24; Romans 13:11; 1 Corinthians 1:18; 1 Corinthians 15:1-2; Colossians 1:21-23; 2 Timothy 1:8-9; 2 Timothy 2:10-13; Hebrews 3:6,14-15; Hebrews 9:28; 1 Peter 1:5,9; 2 Peter 1:5-11; 1 John 2:24-25]

Now some people will call this legalism, or they will call it “works salvation,” but it is neither of those, if taught in the correct biblical context. What this describes is biblical salvation, which was taught by Jesus and by his New Testament apostles. Yes, we do nothing to earn or to deserve our own salvation, but we need to know what biblical salvation is, for it is us being delivered out of our slavery (addiction) to sin so that, by the grace of God, and in his power, we will now walk in obedience to our Lord’s commands.

[Matthew 7:13-14,21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 1:12-13; John 6:44; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Romans 1:18-32; Romans 2:5-10; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Galatians 5:16-24; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Hebrews 10:19-39; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:1-10; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10]

So many people today are teaching a false gospel of salvation absent of biblical repentance (turning from sin to obey God), and without God’s requirements that we now put sin to death in our lives, not just once, but daily, by the Spirit, and that we walk (in conduct, with purpose) in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in practice. And so we have a large number of people professing faith in Jesus whose lives are not much different from those who do not believe in Jesus, for sin is still their practice.

But the whole purpose of our salvation and our walks of faith is that we no longer walk in sin deliberately and habitually, but that we now walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in following our Lord wherever he leads us in being who he wants us to be, and in doing what he has called us to do, and in being his witnesses who live the gospel, in practice, and who are sharing the true biblical message of the gospel with the people of the world for their salvation from sin and for their hope of eternal life with God.

“For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries.” (Hebrews 10:26-27 NASB1995)

For Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

“Come to Me all you who thirst; come to waters.
Listen to Me, and eat what’s good today,
And your soul will delight in richest of fare.
Give ear to Me, and you will live.
I have made an eternal covenant with you.
Wash in the blood of the Lamb.”

Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him.
Let the wicked forsake his way, in truth.
Let him turn to the Lord, and he will receive mercy.
Freely, God pardons him.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,”
declares the Lord, our God.

“My word that goes out of My mouth is truthful.
It will not return to Me unfulfilled.
My word will accomplish all that I desire,
And achieve the goal I intend.
You will go in joy and be led forth in peace.
The mountains will burst into song… before you,
And all of the trees clap their hands.”

'Cancel the Hate' App targeting Charlie Kirk critics leaks user data in huge privacy breach; may also have been a scam

The app, called "Cancel the Hate", launched shortly after Kirk’s assassination on September 10 and encouraged people to anonymously report “offenders” who spoke against him, as per a SAN report.

While its website promised that users submitting reports would remain anonymous, a security flaw in the connected social media-style app exposed email addresses, phone numbers, and other personal details, as per the SAN report.

Cancel the Hate Users Say It May Be a Scam

One user affected, who confirmed downloading the app but asked to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation, told SAN they began receiving suspicious donation requests by email and now believe the project may have been a scam, as per the report.

Cancel the Hate was founded by conservative activist Jason Sheppard ... backlash was swift. Sheppard’s social media accounts, along with those tied to Cancel the Hate, have since been deleted without explanation, as per the SAN report.

“Faith, Ethics, and Everyday Choices: How Do We Live Righteously Today?”

Hello brothers and sisters in Christ,

I wanted to start a conversation about ethics and morality from a Christian perspective. We often read in the Bible about God’s standards for right and wrong, yet in daily life, it can sometimes be challenging to apply these principles consistently.

Some questions to ponder and discuss:

  1. How do you decide what is ethical or moral in complex situations?
  2. How does your faith guide your choices in everyday life, like work, relationships, and social interactions?
  3. How can Christians balance compassion with truth when facing moral dilemmas?
  4. Are there specific Bible verses or teachings that inspire you to act ethically even when it’s difficult?

I’d love to hear your thoughts, experiences, and Scripture references that guide your understanding of morality and ethics in today’s world. Let’s share wisdom and encouragement with each other.

“Let’s discuss with love and respect, keeping Christ at the center of our conversation. What does living righteously mean to you in practical terms?”

Hello! I'm new here.

I'm hoping to find some good Christian friends on here to have fellowship with. I work in a warehouse where my manager constantly challenges my faith and cusses like a sailor. I have also been pushed away by other fellow Christians. I have been working hard to grow in the Lord and get closer to Him, which has led to some people say i am too religious for them. I really want good Christian friends that I can talk to and share God's Word with. I love you all and I look forward to meeting you all in the forums! God bless! Psalms 150

Trump replaces Biden’s portrait with a picture of auto-pen

President Donald Trump is once again making decorative changes to the White House -- disparaging former President Joe Biden in the process.

The White House has installed a new presidential portrait gallery along the West Wing Colonnade, unveiling the wall of photos on Wednesday. While the new "Presidential Walk of Fame" features portraits of all the presidents in gilded frames, Biden's portrait is replaced with a picture of an autopen.

Is AI making the human race dumber?

First of all is the Flynn effect where IQ has gradually increased over the past century due to various factors such as education and improved nutrition but has plateaued since around 2010.

IQTrends.jpg

While this predates the AI revolution latest studies studies indicate an anti-Flynn effect may now be in effect with IQ scores falling.
A reason for this is an over reliance on AI resulting in diminished skills for independent problem solving.

The Tea App

There’s a new app in town. Have you heard? :crosseo:

Tea, an app that allows women to post pictures of men they’re dating for feedback, is going viral. Tea is now the No. 1 lifestyle app in the App Store, with over 1 million women signing up over the past week. Marketed as an online dating safety app, Tea allows its users to post photos of men and ask others for “tea” — in other words, dirt or gossip — on them. It is gaining popularity on TikTok, particularly among Gen Z users.

Unlike dating apps, the purpose of Tea is to verify the identity of people on match-making apps. It’s not doing anything new — there have long been Facebook groups where women share pictures of men they’re dating to check for red flags.

Powered by AI-driven safety technology and real-time identity verification tools, the aim is for women to have the power to discreetly check that the men they’re dating are who they say.

Features include reverse image search, with users able to catch catfish and fake profiles by dropping a screenshot into Tea’s Catfish Finder AI. Phone number lookup helps verify if someone has a hidden marriage or concerning history with their phone number. Background checks include the ability to access public records, sex offender maps and criminal history to assess if your date is safe to meet up with in real life.

White House presser on autism, Tylenol prompts pushback from World Health Organization

President Donald Trump and top White House health officials faced criticism from the World Health Organization for a press conference earlier this week that floated potential ties between the skyrocketing rates of autism and pregnant women's use of the common pain reliever acetaminophen, also known as Tylenol.

The World Health Organization issued a statement Wednesday asserting "that there is currently no conclusive scientific evidence confirming a possible link between autism and use of acetaminophen (also known as paracetamol) during pregnancy."

During a press conference at the White House on Monday to announce their Autism Action Plan, President Donald Trump and health officials announced a potential association between Tylenol use during pregnancy and adverse neurological outcomes such as ADHD and autism. They also promoted leucovorin, a form of folinic acid used as an off-label cancer drug, as a potential treatment for autism.

Left-Wing Terrorism Is on the Rise

2025 marks the first time in more than 30 years that left-wing attacks outnumber those from the far right.

The year 2016 was a turning point for left-wing terrorism, even as right-wing incidents remained much more common. Trump’s political ascent and the expansion of the MAGA movement seem to have reenergized left-wing violent extremism, which accounted for 37 incidents from 2016 to 2024, most of them motivated by either anti-government or partisan sentiment. By July 4 of this year, far-left extremists had already been responsible for five terrorist attacks and plots...

A major shift in politics ... can cause the losing side to become more combative. Just as Trump’s election led to a rise in left-wing violence, President Barack Obama’s election corresponded with a surge of violence from the right.

This year ... violence on the right has plummeted. Only one right-wing-terrorist incident occurred in the first six months of 2025: the June assassination of the Minnesota state legislator Melissa Hortman and her husband. This extraordinary drop-off is too recent to allow for any definitive explanations—and the number of terror incidents often fluctuates over short periods—but Trump’s reelection could be a key factor. His victory deflated election conspiracies that had once motivated many extremists.

Under Trump, right-wing extremists may feel less need to mobilize, because they sense that their interests are already being taken care of.

Exaggerated rhetoric across party lines helps explain why both Republicans and Democrats believe that more than 40 percent of the other side supports murder if it serves their political interests. In reality, less than 4 percent of Americans support partisan violence such as assault or arson, let alone murder.
