  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Archaeologists uncover vast complex of ancient tombs in biblical city tied to St Paul's letter

Colossae necropolis contains 2,200-year-old rock-cut tombs with ceramics, coins and religious artifacts

Archaeologists in Turkey recently uncovered over 60 ancient tombs in Colossae, a biblical city immortalized in the New Testament.

The discoveries were reported by Anadolu Agency (AA), a state-run outlet in Ankara, on Oct. 6. Colossae, part of the Aegean region, sits in the foothills of Mount Honaz.

The city is best known for being the home of the early Christian community to which St. Paul addressed his Epistle to the Colossians, the 12th book of the New Testament.

Though the ancient city had been settled since the 6th century B.C., it lost prominence when it was severely damaged in an earthquake in the 1st century A.D.

Despite being rebuilt in the 7th century, the site was ultimately abandoned in 787 after another devastating earthquake.

An EBT Crisis?

Anyone here aware of the big TikTok trend where people on EBT are threatening mass thievery of food from stores come November 1st? They're saying that if they don't get their free food, it's still going to be free because their just going to walk into the stores and steal it. I mean, many people do that already but they're talking about doing it en masse. And they say if it takes violence, that's what it takes. Through compilations I've come across hundreds of these videos. And of course these aren't the elderly, the sick, the disabled. These people look (and talk) as if they're quite capable of doing a days work, but just refuse to. You think this is all just them venting their entitlement or do you think there's trouble ahead?

Unfortunately I can't post any of the videos because I can't recall a single one which wasn't laced with profanity from start to finish.

What exactly are we standing on?

This is a question that needs to be asked. You trust that you're saved from hell and will go to heaven when you die. But why? For what reason? What are we standing on?

Many people would say that if you have a good lifestyle, that really proves that you got saved. That proves that you are "really" saved, as they would say. But is your lifestyle something that you should be standing on? Absolutely not. We should be standing on the promises of God alone. Why because God is the boss and you better stand on what he says.

"In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;" - Titus 1:2

Man's wisdom says that you cannot go to heaven if your works don't add up, if you're not holy enough, if you live like the world, etc. God's wisdom says otherwise. We go with what God says in the Bible, not what man's wisdom says.

So what exactly are we standing on in regards to salvation from hell? The promises of God. God which cannot lie promised eternal life, that's it and it's case closed.

Things that we are NOT standing on:
  • Lifestyle
  • Not being a drunkard
  • Not committing fornication
  • Not being a murderer
  • Thoughts
  • Feelings
  • Emotions
  • Not falling into sin
  • "At least I have not committed that sin"
  • "At least I'm not living in regular sin"
You get the point. Jesus is the rock on which we stand. Stand on promises of God, don't stand on shifting sands. This is what people need to understand. I like how that one hymn goes, "Jesus is a rock in a weary land, a shelter in a time of storm."

Here is a hymn called "Standing on the promises of God"

Is Christianity Like a Necessary Drug with Bad Side Effects?

I know that this may seem to be an anti-Christian post, but it is not.

Christ dying on the cross made it possible for people who trust in him to go to heaven; however, there are several prices that may have to be paid to go there.

The Bible says that a person must clearly repent of their sins in order to be saved. I know repentance is more about the changing of the mind and heart. But certain sins are hard to repent of. Sometimes a person can become very attached emotionally to their sins whether it is a certain vice or the homosexual lifestyle. After all, homosexuals love their partners as much as heterosexuals and a divorce would be just as painful (if they are married).

Becoming a Christian can cause a person to be in conflict with their family or nation depending on who and where it is. In Muslim countries, the person who denounces Islam in order to accept Christ could not only be ostracized from their family but could also face death. The same thing is true in atheistic Communist nations where you hear about persecution of believers all the time. A new Christian in this nation may come from a family of atheists/agnostics/secularist where there will be religious and ideological clashes.

The third issue is totally unrelated to the first two. It has more to do with who spread Christianity than the actual religion itself and how it affected certain people groups. I am talking about European Colonialism. Most nations that were established in the Americas(the New World) and elswhere are the result of Christian apostalization, whether it be Spanish Catholics or British pilgrims/puritan Protestants. Whether is was intentional or not, this resulted in the displacement/genocide of the native people and the importation of African slaves to these places. Most of the famous missionaries of the past have either been European or American like David Livingston, Hudson Taylor, and William Carey. I realize that this is not necessarily the fault of Christianity but how it was interpreted by the colonizers.

But none of this should be surprising considering the one person who suffer the most because of Christianity was Jesus Christ himself! Not only was he crucified, but before that he was rejected by his own people, tortured, whipped, and beaten. He even prayed drops of blood in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Looking at this from an eternal point of view, after a person has been in heaven over 10,000 years (which is longer than recorded history itself), all the sacrifice, pain, suffering, and death might seem worth it according to Revelation 21:4

Thus, the metaphor Christianity is a drug with bad side effects.

So.....did your insurance premium go up?

It is Open Enrollment time so people are seeing what their premiums will be. My Medicare Advantage plan premium has significantly increased, but since I get what Arizona elected officials/ former elected officials on Medicare get, it is not bad.

But wow, for those who are not on Medicare, and have a family of three or more, the monthly cost is $1,848.00 per month! This is the amount for those in the Arizona schools systems, universities and colleges, work in the state prisons, and elected officials and I think the Department of Public Safety officers (like state police) will have to pay for medical insurance.

A single teacher, who may only make $50,000 a year, will have to pay at least $660/month for the 'economy' plan.

But hey, Trump is building a ballroom! It is his number one priority per Karoline Leavitt.

I haven't seen the Obamacare premiums yet which some family members will be using.

What is happening with your medical insurance?

PTSD, TBI, Anxiety/Depression, Alcohol Abuse...

My recovery has been a long road, and I'm still not out of the woods. I've recently had a burst of motivation to start working harder on my physical health, mental health, spiritual health, and broken relationships. Maybe I'm being selfish, but I've been praying for the same thing day-in day-out, and night after night. I've been praying for my heart to be filled with love, so that I can share it with those around me. I've been praying for any harbored resentment to leave my heart and mind so I can see others as God sees me. I've gotten this strange feeling a couple times, like an emotional descent into hell. There's no torment or suffering, just absence. It's like a realization that this connection I don't think I have with God I've actually always had, and I don't realize it until it disappears. What I'm left with is this terrible sense of isolation far beyond anything I've ever experienced, this loneliness I didn't think was even possible. It's terrifying. Sometimes I don't even want to pray. I don't know what's wrong with me. I don't know why my heart is filled with such bitterness. Logically I want to forgive everyone who has wronged me, but it's like my heart holds on to the hate regardless of me wanting to let go of it. Just needed to vent. I feel lost.

#43 in Christian persecution, Cameroon.

Christians in Cameroon face pressure on multiple fronts. The most obvious one is violence and attack in regions of the country with a significant population of Muslim extremists. This is especially the case in the Far North region. Here, Islamic militants – specifically Boko Haram and Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) – regularly attack, trying to carve out a caliphate in Cameroon’s most volatile region. Christians who live in these areas are targets for violence, including abduction and murder.
Converts from Islam are forced to practice their faith in secret, and owning Bibles or Christian books can be extremely dangerous. The violence has forced many churches to close, leaving some believers without a place of worship.
At the same time, all Cameroonians in affected areas suffer in the ongoing conflict between separatists and the nation’s government. This violence has created a massive humanitarian crisis. Christians caught in the middle have been accused by both sides of “harbouring the enemy”, and their churches and property destroyed.

(1 Timothy 4:8)for bodily training is slightly beneficial(especially regarding fighting Sinful Sexual Lustful temptations & substance addiction)

Just FYI for all.
I know the following bible verse emphasizes the importance of Godliness as being beneficial for all things, and that bodily training (i.e., Physical Exercise ) is just slightly beneficial, however, it still at the very least states that physical exercise is beneficial even though it is Only slightly beneficial.

(1 Timothy 4:8)
8 for bodily training is just slightly beneficial, but godliness is beneficial for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

Nowadays, I try to exercise for a time period of 30 minutes to 1 hour sometime between 500AM in the morning to like 400Pm in the afternoon. The reason being is that "Intense physical activity in the evening also may trigger a stress response which can lead to difficulty falling asleep or cause you to wake up in the middle of the night if you experience cortisol disruption and release. If you're going to exercise right before sleep, consider a lower-intensity activity, such as a walk or lighter lifting session." ( Quote Credited Academic Scientific article url reference: Best time of day for your workout - Mayo Clinic Health System )

Even the secular world emphasizes the benefits of physical exercise, please take a look at the following Harvard Health Publishing website's article:
( Reference: Exercising to Relax - Harvard Health Publishing - Harvard Health )
".... Exercise reduces levels of the body's stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol. It also stimulates the production of endorphins, chemicals in the brain that are the body's natural painkillers and mood elevators. Endorphins are responsible for the "runner's high" and for the feelings of relaxation and optimism that accompany many hard workouts...."

Along with helping in reducing the Inappropriate Sexual Lustful feelings, daily strenuous physical exercise also reduces some physical aching pains like back aches which means I do Not have to take Opioids/painkillers/anti-depressants, etc.

I just thought that I would mention the aforementioned benefit because of all the opioid-addiction crisis that has affected many parts of the Western world, and beyond since a lot of Opioids/painkillers and some anti-depressants, etc., are easily obtainable as Over-The-Counter(OTC) drugs which means they do Not need Medical Doctor's prescription.

Again Just FYI.

SHOULD CATHOLICS IN A STATE OF PUBLIC MORTAL SIN RECEIVE HOLY COMMUNION SO AS NOT TO FEEL EXCLUDED IN THE EUCHARISTI

Willem Jacobus Cardinal Eijk, Metropolitan Archbishop of Utrecht gives a very cogent argument, based on Catholic morality and Canon Law, about who may or may not receive Holy Communion. You can read a commentary on what His Eminence said in the Silere non possum article I copy and paste below.

But, I would like to make a suggestion. In the ancient Mass of the one Roman Rite, only priests can distribute Holy Communion. And the rubric for distributing Holy Communion indicates that as the priest gives Holy Communion to the communicant, he makes a small “Sign of the Cross” with the Host over the person receiving the Precious Host.

In preparation for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to be utilized, the Modern Mass rubric for the distribution of Holy Communion not only truncated the formula to be said by the “Minister” of Holy Communion to “The body of Christ” but also the removal of the rubric to make a small “Sign of the Cross” with the Precious Host over the communicant. Why remove the “Benediction” with the Precious Host? So that Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion can distribute Holy Communion as only priests and deacons can give a blessing in the formal way and a Benediction with the Precious Host.

Now comes my point: Cardina Eijk likes that Catholics who may not receive Holy Communion may come forward to receive a blessing instead of Holy Communion, a kind of “Spiritual Communion” at the time of Holy Communion. Of course, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion cannot bless communicants with a hand gesture, but they can say “May God bless you.”

But if only priests and deacons are allowed to distribute Holy Communion, the Benediction with the Host prior to the communicant receiving Holy Communion could be restored and those who come forward for only a blessing, could receive an individual “Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament”. HOW MUCH MORE INCLUSIVE WOULD THAT BE! AND NON CATHOLICS COULD RECEIVE THAT BENEDICTION TOO! HOW ECUMENICAL WOULD THAT BE!!!!!

Do Not Let Yourselves Be Deceived

“Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them; for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them.” (Ephesians 5:6-11 NASB1995)

“These things” mentioned here refer to immorality, impurity, greed, filthy language, covetousness, idolatry, and vulgar and crude jesting which is sexual or obscene and/or which is rude or disrespectful in nature (vv. 3-5). Because of things such as these (and more) the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience, meaning all who are living in sin and in walks of disobedience to our Lord regardless of whether or not they give lip service to Jesus Christ as Lord and as Savior of their lives. Let no one deceive you!

Therefore, we are not to be partakers with the sons of disobedience who are living immoral lives in direct defiance to our Lord and to his commands. We are not to allow ourselves to be deceived by those who are teaching that a mere verbal confession of Christ as Lord is enough to get us saved from our sins and on our way to heaven and/or that God makes no such requirements as those which teach us that death to sin and walks of obedience to our Lord are critical elements of faith which saves and which promises eternal life.

For, if truly our faith in Jesus Christ is biblical faith which saves, it means that formerly we walked in darkness (in sin) but now we are to be walking as children of Light in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in all truth and goodness and righteousness. Now we are to be trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord, and then be doing what pleases him, in his power, wisdom, and strength. And instead of us participating in the unfruitful deeds of darkness (sin), we are to be those who are exposing these evil deeds.

For, not only should we be living the truth of God’s word and of his gospel message, but we should also be those who are speaking the truth of the gospel to other people. And, in addition to that, we must also be exposing all that is of Satan, and all that God regards as sinful practices, and we are to expose the lies of the enemy which so many people are teaching today as the truth, and thus they are deceiving many people into believing that God does not require of them that they die to sin and obey God’s commands.

For Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

For by God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ, which is not of our own doing, we are crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to righteousness in walks of obedience to God’s commands. We are no longer to permit sin to reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires. For if sin is what we obey, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God (see Romans 6:1-23).

So don’t buy into the lies which may be telling you that all your sins are forgiven and you are now on your way to heaven regardless of whether or not you obey our Lord’s commands and that you put sin to death in your life, by the Spirit. And this is not saying that you must live an absolutely sinless life or you are cut off from God entirely (see 1 John 2:1-2). But the Scriptures do teach that if sin is our practice, and not obedience to our Lord’s commands, that we will not inherit eternal life with God. Believe it!

[Matthew 7:13-14,21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Romans 1:18-32; Romans 2:5-10; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Galatians 5:16-24; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Hebrews 10:19-39; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:1-10; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10; Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22]

Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.

Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.

Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.

Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.

Do Not Let Yourselves Be Deceived
An Original Work / October 25, 2025
Christ’s Free Servant, Sue J Love

We Do Not Preach Ourselves, but Christ as Lord

“For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, ‘Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves.” (2 Corinthians 4:5-7 NASB1995)

This is so different from what I hear from so many “ministers of the gospel of Christ” in today’s world. So many of them are preaching themselves and their own agendas and/or what the business models and marketing literature are teaching them that they ought to teach if they want to “draw in large crowds of people from the world” into their gatherings. So many are patterning their teaching after the ways of the world, to attract the world, and to not offend the people of the world who they want in their “churches.”

So many of them are not preaching their sermons, as led by the Spirit of God, but according to what they are being told is going to bring in large crowds of people. And so many of them are not even writing their own sermons, but they are getting them from a collective source, and some (or many) of them are using the same source materials. And so many are now teaching a very diluted “gospel” which makes no requirements for the sinner to die to their sin and to surrender to God in obedience to his commands.

But here are some summaries of three of the apostle Paul’s sermons:

By God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ, which is not of our own doing, we are crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to righteousness in walks of obedience to God’s commands. We are no longer to permit sin to reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires. For if sin is what we obey, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God (see Romans 6:1-23).

For God’s grace, which is bringing us salvation, is training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives while we wait for Jesus’ return. For Christ “gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.” “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (See Titus 2:11-14; Ephesians 2:8-10)

And this is what it means to let “Light shine out of darkness.” For Light represents Jesus Christ and his gospel message. And it represents all that is pure, holy, and righteous versus all that is wicked, immoral, and sinful. Light is the truth of God’s word taught in its appropriate biblical context. For “the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God” is in the person of Jesus Christ, and it is in the truth of the gospel message taught by Jesus Christ and by his New Testament apostles. And they taught death to sin and obeying God.

And here are some summaries of two of our Lord Jesus Christ’s sermons:

Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him.

And this is what the Apostle Paul taught, too, all throughout his writings, which came from the Holy Spirit. And he taught that on the day of God’s righteous judgment on humankind, that God will render to each person “according to his deeds.” For those living the life that God has for them, they will reap eternal life with God. But for those who are selfishly ambitious, who do not obey the truth, but who obey unrighteousness, their reward will be to face the wrath of God and his indignation (see Romans 2:5-10).

For Paul did not teach out of his own flesh, and neither should we who are ministers of the gospel of Christ and of our salvation. He fully recognized that the power to do what he did came not from himself, but from God. And so should we. We should be sharing with the people of the world what Jesus and his New Testament apostles taught as the gospel, in full context, not always sharing every single word, but definitely highlighting the critical nature of us dying to sin and obeying our Lord as evidence of biblical faith.

Woe to me should I not preach Jesus.
I’m compelled to preach the full gospel.
I make myself a slave to ev’ryone
To win their hearts to Christ.
All this I do for my Lord Jesus,
And for the sake of His Name;
Do it for the sake of His gospel,
So that I, its blessings gain.

Scripture notates the sins of others;
Written down for us as examples
To keep us from setting our hearts
On evil as did those of old.
Do not worship other gods of man;
Do not give your hearts to them;
Not partake in immorality.
Do not test your Lord and King.

So, be careful if you think you are
Standing firm in your faith in Jesus.
God has given his word to warn us,
So through faith we will not fall.
No temptation has o’ertaken you
Except what is commonplace.
God is faithful to not let you be
Tempted past what you can bear.
He gives the way of escape.

Solidarity with the poor also means paying big bucks to some guy to hop around the sanctuary and blow bubbles. Yes, this happened in the Archdiocese of Chicago... this decade.

What a travesty! Were I subjected to such nonsense in my territorial parish, I would find my way to the TLM just to preserve my sanity.

I liked the sign interpreter. There aren’t many priests able to offer mass using sign language so I’m sure such a service is well appreciated by the deaf community.

Pray for Christians forced to flee.

Many Muslims who come to faith in Christ lose everything: their home, their job, most of all their family. Often they are forced to flee in the face of threats to their lives.

One of our partners works to provide a place of safety for those in danger. This involves secure, though temporary accommodation in a different country until a more permanent, and safe, location can be found for them.

Pray for our partner, as this month he is visiting several Christians who have been forced to flee to another country. Pray for safety in travel and that he will be a blessing and an encouragement to the families he meets.
Pray for a Christian convert from Islam who recently suffered from a scammer in the country to which she has fled. Pray for her peace and protection.

Pray for our partner as he prepares to minister in various countries over the next couple of months. Pray that the Lord will sustain him in all this. Pray for effective outcomes.

DOJ to Send Election Monitors to California, New Jersey Next Month After GOP Requests

"The DOJ will announce Friday that it is planning to monitor polling sites in Passaic County, New Jersey, and five counties in southern and central California: Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, Riverside, and Fresno. The goal, according to the DOJ, is "to ensure transparency, ballot security, and compliance with federal law."
"Transparency at the polls translates into faith in the electoral process, and this Department of Justice is committed to upholding the highest standards of election integrity," Attorney General Pamela Bondi said in a statement to The Associated Press."

A good move, we need to have fair elections and it's important to demonstrate to the public that the elections are fair.

Meth addicted husband

I'm in a hairy situation. I just recently got married and wonder if I should now get a divorce. My husband has ADHD and takes Adderall for it but he abuses it and he does meth with it. When I confront him about it he gets very defensive and gaslights me. I am a Christian and I have done my best to support him in everything but he doesn't hold a steady job down and is a great welder but won't let the meth go so he can get a good job. I am the breadwinner but I hate drugs. I don't want to divorce him but I am not supporting this behavior. I asked him to do rehab and he said yes but when he talked to them and they told him he had to be off of both for 28 days he was adamant that he no longer wanted to do it. He wants the best of both worlds. He wants to stay with me in my home but he doesn't want to quit. And, he is telling me to make him get out now. He's a big boy so I can't force him out. What do I do?

Melissa could become major hurricane, may impact the US

Tropical Storm Melissa is projected to become a major hurricane that could inflict devastating damage on several Caribbean islands, as the possibility of the United States experiencing some of the storm's effects remains.

The projected path of the storm, compiled by the National Hurricane Center, shows Melissa strengthening into a Hurricane Saturday evening before reaching the status of a major hurricane shortly thereafter.

The storm is expected to be centered on Jamaica through Tuesday before advancing to Cuba as a major hurricane on Wednesday. The National Hurricane Center defines a major hurricane as a storm with wind speeds in excess of 110 miles per hour.

Both a hurricane watch and a tropical storm warning are in effect for the southwestern peninsula of Haiti from the border with the Dominican Republic to Port-au-Prince. As explained in an advisory published by the National Hurricane Center, "Significant, life-threatening flash flooding and numerous landslides are expected in the southern Dominican Republic and eastern Jamaica, with catastrophic flash flooding and landslides anticipated in southern Haiti."

Matthew 1:21 - He will save His people

The Greek text reads: αὐτὸς γὰρ σώσει τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν.

The emphatic αὐτὸς ("he himself") and the future indicative σώσει ("will save") describe a certain, effectual act: He will save, not He will try to save, or offer salvation. This is a declarative promise: Jesus will accomplish this on behalf of "His people." The phrase τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ("his people") is possessive and definite.

Who exactly are His people? If it means all humanity, then why isn't all humanity saved? But if it refers to the elect, then the angel's promise stands precisely fulfilled.

How do you interpret τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ?

BBC producer faces backlash for post describing Charlie Kirk’s widow as 'Zionist handler'

Jayne Egerton, a BBC Radio 4 producer, is facing a backlash for reposting a controversial post that described Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, as his “Zionist handler,” Jewish News UK reported.

The post was originally written by the feminist activist Sasha S. Graham.

“Erica is not some ‘strong figure,’” Graham argued in her post. “She was Charlie’s Zionist handler who only exists in his sphere to redirect her husband’s organization into a politically acceptable organization. Her history tells the story of a traitor. Hell, she married a male supremacist,” Graham claimed without elaborating.

According to Jewish News UK, Egerton reposted the post in "Actual Gender Critical Left," a female-only Facebook group with 2,300 members, where she is a moderator. The group says it is “open to all persons of the female sex, including trans men, and non-binary, detransitioned, and re-identified women.” Furthermore, the group stresses that it rejects “all alliances, collaboration, and coordination with organizations of the religious right or white nationalist/xenophobic right.”
