How Trump Has Pocketed $1,408,500,000

President Trump has never been a man to ask what he can do for his country. In his second term, as in his first, he is instead testing the limits of what his country can do for him. He has poured his energy and creativity into the exploitation of the presidency — into finding out just how much money people, corporations and other nations are willing to put into his pockets in hopes of bending the power of the government to the service of their interests.
A review by the editorial board relying on analyses from news organizations shows that Mr. Trump has used the office of the presidency to make at least $1.4 billion. We know this number to be an underestimate because some of his profits remain hidden from public view. And they continue to grow.
A hotel in Oman. An office tower in western India. A golf course on the outskirts of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. These are a few of the more than 20 overseas projects the Trump Organization is pursuing, often requiring cooperation with foreign governments. These deals have made millions for the Trumps, according to Reuters. And the administration has sometimes treated those same governments favorably. One example: The administration agreed to lower its threatened tariffs on Vietnam about a month after a Trump Organization project broke ground on a $1.5 billion golf complex outside of Hanoi. Vietnamese officials ignored their own laws to fast-track the project.
Amazon paid far more for the rights to “Melania” than the next highest bidder — and far more than the company has previously paid for similar projects, according to The Wall Street Journal. Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s chairman and one of the world’s richest people, has many reasons to curry favor with the administration, including antitrust regulation, Amazon’s defense contracts and his space company’s federal contracts.
The settlements have come from X, ABC News, Meta, YouTube and Paramount. None of them were justified on the merits. Paramount, for example, agreed to pay the president $16 million for what he claimed was the deceptive editing of a 2024 Kamala Harris interview. The editing was a normal part of journalism. Three weeks later, the Federal Communications Commission approved an $8 billion merger with Skydance.
Mr. Trump seemed to acknowledge that the gift would influence his treatment of Qatar. “We are going to protect this country,” he said in Doha shortly after Qatar offered the plane. Mr. Trump has said he expects to transfer the plane to his presidential library after leaving office.
Mr. Trump’s sale of crypto has been by far his biggest moneymaker, according to Reuters. People who hope to influence federal policy, including foreigners, can buy his family’s coins, effectively transferring money to the Trumps, and the deals are often secret. One that has become public: A United Arab Emirates-backed investment firm announced plans last year to deposit $2 billion into a Trump firm — two weeks before the president gave the country access to advanced chips.-- NYTimes

A Calvinist perspective on the Parable of the Sower (Matt 13)

Hello,

I would like to know the Calvinist perspective on the four fields of the Parable of the Sower (Matt 13), especially the stony and thorny grounds. The wayside, I think it to be easy to understand: that's the people that heard the Gospel but without the necessarily illumination (v.19). The good ground is the elects. But what about the stony and the thorny grounds? I don't think we can say that they are the false believers described as the tares in v. 24-30 + 36-43, because the tares are sowed by the devil, but in the Parable of the Sower, this is about some people that have received the good seed of the Word of God, and this good seed begins to have some effects and grows as wheat, but only until a certain point.

I think that you will say that they are not born again, however the seed didn't remain a seed but grew to be wheat. Maybe with some good observation, someone could discern at the very beginning when the seed is planted, that the wheat is not going to fully develop and bear fruit. But then, if this was not a new birth, how are you going to describe the transformation of the seed to wheat?

In verses 20-21, it is said that the stony ground represent the people that received the Word of God with a great joy, although it has no root in them. In John 1:11 it is written that “as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God”. Isn't it a bit strange that those that received the Word didn't receive the right to become children of God? Or would you say that they received some Word of God, some part of the Gospel, but not Jesus Christ in all his offices: as Savior and Lord? Or would you say that they did received Jesus in all his offices, but it was a superficial reception that did affect the emotions and the enthusiasm but not the heart?

The question is also: how easily it would be to discern for oneself to be a good or a stony or a thorny ground, or how easily could we discern that in our fellow believers? Or are we in general blind to that, until it will be revealed to us after some time?

Here’s why there are more ICE raids in blue states

The Left is desperate to make lawful deportation in America a giant, impossible mess to deal with.

According to a new media narrative, President Donald Trump and the Department of Homeland Security are behaving irresponsibly by conducting more immigration raids around the country, which in turn have allegedly led to violence against innocent civilians and illegal aliens.

And if you’ve been listening to Democrats, you’d think that the reason that Immigration and Customs Enforcement is particularly active in blue states is that the Trump administration is being mean to them for political reasons.

Their reasoning goes that Trump wants to occupy and bully their states with ICE “terrorists” who spend their time murdering innocent American citizens for no reason other than to cruelly “own the libs.”

“This is retribution-style politics,” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said in a recent CNN interview. “This is drama. This is performance politics at its worst, and it’s hurting people and it’s making us less safe.”

This is projection. It’s Frey and friends who are all about “performance politics.” They desperately want to convey the idea that Trump’s immigration enforcement policies are the real problem.

But the narrative that aggressive ICE enforcement in blue states is just some kind of political retribution is bunk for many reasons. The biggest one is that Democrats have actively pursued policies that would lead to a confrontation with the federal government over immigration law.

This is happening by design.

Is America a police state (if you are not white)?

I’ve just been listening to interviews with people in Minnesota. Lot’s people afraid to leave their homes without taking passports, whistles and pepper spray. People afraid to leave the house at all for fear of being snatched by unidentified masked men and ending up in a different state or country before getting to call someone.

But in the interviews no one who was white expressed any fear or experiences of being held without charge.

The neighbourhoods are crumbling as businesses are disrupted and failing because of the wandering masked groups going door to door and stopping (non-white) people in the street demanding papers. Drones flying overhead over groups of people in the streets.

How long will it take criminals to realise that they can go about their business in broad daylight wearing similar outfits and snatching victims to rob or worse?

How long until someone goes ballistic with a gun to defend themselves from these masked men?

Is this America?

Being Double-Minded

“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:5-8 NASB1995)

What is wisdom? It isn’t just knowledge, for there are a lot of people who have heads full of knowledge who do not exercise wisdom. For me, wisdom has always been applied knowledge, i.e. putting the head knowledge we have into practice, but the right kind of knowledge. So wisdom is exercising common sense and good judgment. And it is not just speaking the truth, but it is applying the truth to our daily lives. And it is seeking the counsel of God to make good, sound, and right decisions, which are well prayed over.

So, if we are lacking in wisdom, and so we ask God for wisdom, we need to mean it. We need to be sincere in our requests. And we should not be asking God for wisdom and then wait for him to respond before we decide whether or not we will accept his counsel. And asking God for wisdom is not to be some ritual we go through to give an appearance of seeking after God if we are not going to listen to what God has to say anyway. And there are people who do that, who say they prayed, but who then reject God’s counsel.

And that is called being “double-minded.” And that is like being on both sides of opposite ends of a see-saw (teeter-totter) going up and down in thought or belief or opinion. For to teeter is to stagger, to wobble, to waver, to sway, to falter, to vacillate, and/or to hesitate. And to totter is to falter, to stumble, and to flounder. And from a spiritual perspective that can mean to sin. For it has to do with not being steady in faith or in practice, but with vacillating back and forth between living for sin and for self and claiming faith in Jesus.

What this passage teaches us is that if we are those who “teeter-totter” as a matter of practice, and so we vacillate in belief and practice on a habitual basis, and so we pray for God’s counsel, but while we may decide not to take God’s counsel, that we are the double-minded, unstable in all our ways, who will not receive anything from the Lord. And I believe this includes salvation from sin and eternal life with God, too. For the double-minded are of two minds going back and forth between God and their sin, which is not of God.

For Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

For by God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ, which is not of our own doing, we are crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to righteousness in walks of obedience to God’s commands. We are no longer to permit sin to reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires. For if sin is what we obey, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God (see Romans 6:1-23).

[Matthew 7:13-14,21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Romans 1:18-32; Romans 2:5-10; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; Romans 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10,19-20; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; 2 Corinthians 5:10,15,21; Galatians 5:16-24; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Hebrews 10:19-39; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:1-10; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10; Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22]

So, don’t take God’s grace for granted. Don’t see God as a Genie in the sky just there to grant you your every request, regardless of how you treat him. Believe God and what he teaches us that faith which comes from God will result in us denying self, dying to sin, and following our Lord in obedience to his commands, in practice, or it is not biblical faith which saves. This does not make us perfect (1 John 2:1-2), but if sin is our practice, and not obedience to God, we do not have the hope of eternal life with God.

Your bond is broken with your Lord and Savior
And your testimony is separate from Him.
Your words not matching your actions today.
Repent of your sin and bow down and pray.
Live what you testify in truth always.

Purity’s lacking in your life and witness,
For you profess one thing, but other you do.
Not moral, spiritual. Still of the flesh.
Not living in truth to what you confess.
Lying about it puts you in a mess.

Living a lie is your practice, ‘tis true of you.
Masquerade righteousness – none of it true.
Your heart is not given to your Lord God.
Because of how you live, you are a fraud.
Turn from your sin and give your life to God.

Why are 64% of American churchgoers wrong about Heaven?

What are American churchgoers being taught from the pulpit these days about what happens after death? Clearly something is terribly amiss. A 2025 study by Dr. George Barna and Dr. David Closson reveals the dire situation.

Only 36% correctly affirm: "You will go to Heaven if you repent of sin and accept Christ." The rest of American churchgoers are completely misguided regarding who goes to Heaven.

The Family Research Council released the study a few months ago. And here is what people in the pew actually think:

  • "Everyone goes to Heaven" (14%).
  • "Everyone is purified, then goes to Heaven" (12%).
  • "Don't know" (12%).
  • "You go to Heaven if you did good deeds" (11%).
  • "You cease to exist" (7%).
  • "You are reincarnated" (7%).
  • "You go to Hell" (2%).
Why are two-thirds of churchgoers wrong about something so foundational to Christianity? If your pastor is not preaching the Gospel, you should switch to a church where the truth of Scripture is being taught.

Half of American churchgoers (49%) either do not know who goes to Heaven, or believe that everyone goes to Heaven, or think that everyone is purified and then goes to Heaven. These statistics are shocking! And remember, these are people who actually attend church!

MLK's niece says Don Lemon, ICE protesters should remember uncle's calls to protest peacefully

Alveda King, a gospel singer, evangelist, and niece of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., believes that if her uncle were alive today, he would be stressing the importance of unity and nonviolence amid ongoing unrest against immigration enforcement officers.

During a Monday interview with The Christian Post on the 41st Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the 74-year-old evangelist appealed to the legacy of her uncle, who would have turned 97 this year, to offer her thoughts on the violent tension in Minnesota.

Minneapolis has been roiled in recent weeks with protests against U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) officials after two ICE-involved shootings, including the death of 37-year-old Renee Good.

King, who serves in the Trump administration as a senior advisor on Faith and Community Outreach at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, urged protesters to remember that her uncle emphasized the importance of remaining peaceful during protests.

NYC police increasing presence at churches after violent disruption, feces vandalism

New York City will increase police presence at Staten Island houses of worship in response to a recent series of criminal disruptions and other acts of vandalism at local churches.

Patrol Borough Staten Island Assistant Chief Melissa Eger said at a press conference last Thursday that authorities will take extra measures to protect local churches.

“So, I want to emphasize that none of these incidents indicate the targeting of churches due to religious affiliation,” Eger said, as reported by The Staten Island Advance.

Any books that explain the different churches / denominations for a seeker?

I'm looking for a book that explains things like what is Presbyterian? What is Baptist? What is Roman Catholic, what is Anglican etc? In enough detail to understand the differences and any nuances within each group.

I have read a bit from specific viewpoints, and understand the differences are not always theological, ie Presbyterians may not all be Calvinists these days.

The Testing of Our Faith

“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” “Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” (James 1:2-4,12 NASB1995)

What kinds of trials are you being faced with today? Depending upon our circumstances, or on where we live in the world, can depend upon what kinds of trials we may presently be enduring. Now hardships, pain, and sufferings of many kinds are everywhere you look. But with regard to Christian persecution, I think, from what I have experienced, those of us who live in the USA, as a general rule, have not had to suffer the kinds of severity of physical persecutions as some Christians have in other nations.

But that does not mean that the church in the USA is not suffering any kinds of persecution. It just might come in different forms. For I believe the worst persecution of “believers in Christ” here in the USA is happening within the gatherings of the church, and it is in the form of deception and convincing the people to believe the lies of the enemy and to reject the truth of the gospel as taught by Jesus, and so it is sending many people straight to hell, but on the promise of salvation from all sin and eternal life with God.

So, why is that worse than beatings and imprisonments and other such forms of torture of those who profess faith in Jesus Christ? Because those of genuine faith in the Lord, who are suffering physical persecution for their walks of faith, if they endure to the end, will have the hope of salvation from sin and eternal life with God. But all who are believing the lies of the enemy, who are embracing a false gospel which does not require death to sin and obedience to God, are being sent to hell based on a lie. And that’s worse!

But that is not the only kind of Christian persecution going on within the USA, which is where I live. So much of what is called “church” today are just businesses of human origin which are partnered with the world and with the government in an unholy union, which God forbids. And they are marketing “the church” to the people of the world, which God also forbids, and so they are diluting and altering the gospel message to make it less offensive and more appealing to the ungodly and to human flesh, to grow their numbers.

[Matthew 21:12-13; John 2:13-17; Acts 5:27-32; 1 Corinthians 1:10-13; 1 Corinthians 3:1-9; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; Philippians 3:18-19; Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22; Revelation 13:5-8; Revelation 18:1-5]

Therefore, since they are trying to attract the world to their gatherings, and so they are marketing “the church” to the people of the world, and so they are altering the gospel message to make it more appealing to human flesh, they are being taught who they want to have in their “churches,” and who they are to “get rid of,” who will be a hindrance to their marketing goals and schemes. So, if you are someone who holds to the truths of the Scriptures, and who does not compromise the truth, you might be asked to leave.

But they may not just kindly suggest that you go somewhere else where you will be “a better fit,” but they might plot evil against you to force you to leave and to go someplace else. For there are pastors of “churches” who use manipulative tactics and deceitful scheming to get rid of those who they do not want to be a part of their “churches.” And some of them are being trained in how to do this. And my husband and I sat through some of those training sessions, so we know about their scheming and manipulations.

Plus, I have been on the receiving end of some of those manipulative tactics to get rid of me, because they were “warned about people like me,” i.e. “people with strong convictions.” And I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I was submissive and not out of order. I was not causing trouble or confusion. But I was standing on truth and righteousness, and I held on to the truth of the gospel, and to integrity and honesty, and I would not bow to false teachers and to false teachings. So I did not fit in with their marketing schemes.

But when we face trials and persecutions, some of which are done purposefully against us, to harm us, and/or to get rid of us, or to try to persuade us to change our positions, we are to consider it all joy, knowing that the testing of our faith produces within us what is of God and which is for his purposes and for his glory in making us into the servants of the Lord he wants us to be. And the end result will be for the ones who persevere that we will enter into God’s eternal kingdom and we will be with our Lord.

[Matthew 7:13-14,21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Romans 2:5-10; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Galatians 5:16-24; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:1-10; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10; Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22]

J-horror

Lately I've been getting into the hobby of watching japanese horror. It had a distinctive horror quality, at least during the late 90s-mid 2000s that I love. I am currently watching the movies in the Ringu franchise–I still have 4 more to watch, and most likely I'll order the novels later. From what I read online, the novel are very different from the movies (except the first and mostly forgotten tv movie from 1996, known now as Ringu Kazenban).

Exodus 6:2-9:35 "Judgment against Egypt" "Promises for Israel"

PARASHA: “Va’era” (and I appeared) EXODUS 6:2-9:35

YHVH speaks to Moshe saying that when he appeared to Abraham, he revealed himself as “El Shaddai” which means “God Almighty” or “God all-powerful, yet he did not reveal himself as he did to Moshe, with Moshe he revealed himself with the more personal name; YHVH (Yod Hey Vav Hey) These letters stem from the word; “HaVaYaH” which means “To exist” (we re-arrange the letters) one could say that the name YHVH means “the God who exists from time past, present, and future) “Haya=the past” “Hoveh=the present “Yiyah”=future. As one can see, these words are a mixture of the letters YHVH.

YHVH plans to take his people out of Egypt and return them to Canaan, the promised land, and at the same time, “judge the Egyptians” using a series of judgments leading up to the slaughter of the “Passover lambs,” a very important “Moed” which we know so well. The judgments are directed against the false deities of Egypt and against Pharaoh himself. Egypt is largely destroyed and left in ruin, and it never regained the power and military might it once boasted of.

From verses 6 to 9, YHVH makes 8 “I will” promises to his people, and I want to look at these promises in light of how they affect us as believers in Messiah Yeshua today;

1. I WILL bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians..
2. I WILL rescue you from their bondage.
3. I WILL redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
4. I WILL take you as my people.
5. I WILL be your God.
6. I WILL make myself known to you as your GOD who brings you out from under the burdens of Egypt.
7. I WILL bring you to the land I promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
8. I WILL give it to you as an inheritance.

How do these promises affect us as believers?

1. I WILL bring you out from under the burden of SIN (already done)
2. I WILL rescue you from the bondage of SIN (through Yeshua) (already done)
3. I WILL redeem you with “Two outstretched arms, which received two nails” and “judged” HaSatan (already done)
4. I WILL take you as part of my people, now, through Yeshua. You are part of the Commonwealth of Israel, you have been “grafted in.”
5. I WILL be your God; Adonai-Elohim-Yeshua YHVH
6. I MADE myself known to you through my Torah! And through YESHUA
7. I WILL bring you to my land ( in the near future ). You can serve as a volunteer with the IDF through "Volunteers for Israel, and we can look forward to the New Jerusalem, our Heavenly home. Our inheritance.
8. I WILL give you as an inheritance ETERNAL LIFE, and you will be part of MY KINGDOM. If you have already come to Yeshua, you already have it! No problemo!

A quick look at the plagues that Adonai brought down upon the Egyptians. All were directed against the pagan Egyptian gods.

The staff of Moshe, which was thrown down and it became a serpent, the serpent (Cobra) was the emblem of power in Egypt, the emblem of Pharaoh, in this case, the staff of Moshe, (the staff representing the power and authority of Adonai, through Moshe and Aaron) turned into a serpent, and quickly devoured the serpent-staffs of the magicians of Pharaoh. Result? The power (serpent) of Adonai overpowers the authority (serpents) of Pharaoh, case closed! Now here is something interesting. The Hebrew word used for "serpent" or "snake" in some translations is the word "Taneen." In reality, it means, "any large reptile, either land or marine. The only "large" reptiles in Egypt were probably "cobras" and "crocodiles."

The Nile was worshipped as a god who gave life. The Torah teaches that the life of the flesh is in the blood, yet in this case, the “bloody Nile” symbolized death. This event might have reminded the Egyptians of when Pharaoh ordered the deaths of the newborn male children, being thrown into the Nile to die. Again, Adonai triumphs over the goddess of the Nile, "Anuket". Only in Goshen was there fresh water. Yeshua, who is the “Living Water,” gives life to those who seek Him and are on “His side”.

Frogs are cute yet kinda slimy, a few are OK, but too many are bad, especially when they all start to sing and croak together. The Egyptians could not kill them since they considered them gods. The goddess “Heket” was the goddess of fertility and had the head of a frog! And boy did they ever reproduce! Too many frogs! Pharaoh asked Moses to get rid of them. He said, "You pick the time," your majesty, 'Pharoah said, "Tomorrow," (so, he wanted frogs yet another day), yet Adonai got rid of them, and the land “stank!”

The plague of lice and boils made the Egyptian priests “unclean” to serve. Again, two strikes against Egypt’s religious order.

The plague of the death of the cattle, a strike against the Egyptian god “Apis” (the bull)

The hail from the sky, a strike against Nut and Hathor, the goddesses of the heavenlies.

Before being “born again”, accepting Yeshua/Jesus as our LORD and Savior, Messiah, we are under the burden and bondage of “HaSatan” the deceiver, father of Lies, and we do “his bidding” whether we know it or not, maybe a lot of us were not involved in crime, drugs, murder, etc., but we were hell bound and just did not give God a second thought, If Yeshua/YHVH is not our Father, LORD, redeemer, than, we are of our father, “the devil”, there is no other choice, we are either on one side of the fence or on the other side, there is no “in between” fences. We are under the bondage of sin and under its burden until we are redeemed.

Yet Yeshua DID rescue us from the bondage and burden of sin with “HIS OUTSTRETCHED ARMS.” He stretched out his arms and hands to receive the nails of Calvary. He allowed the Roman soldiers to nail him to that rugged cross that Passover day, to pay the price of sin for us all. That day, he “judged” sin and death with his blood.

From the moment we accept HIM as LORD and Savior, we are taken by him as HIS PEOPLE, we join the great Commonwealth of Israel, being grafted into the Olive Tree. We are now HIS PEOPLE and part of HIS FAMILY of the redeemed. He is OUR GOD, and he made himself known to us through his WORD. His WORD has been taught to us through his faithful ministers, preachers, rabbis, teachers, etc.

We are now living in different lands, in the USA and in other countries, yet someday, we will go to live in HIS glorious city “The New Jerusalem” which is now in the Heavenlies, yet will one day come to rest on earth. This is our inheritance as believers in Messiah Yeshua, Eternal life in his glorious kingdom. We can rest assured that we all have a glorious future to look forward to.

'Shameful': Pastors, Christian leaders react to activists storming So. Baptist church in Minnesota

Pastors and other ministry leaders have roundly condemned a group of activists in Minnesota who disrupted a Sunday service at a Southern Baptist church in St. Paul, where a local official with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) allegedly serves as a pastor.

The activists, including members of the Racial Justice Network and Black Lives Matter Minnesota, entered the sanctuary of Cities Church during the service led by senior pastor Jonathan Parnell. The protesters allege that one of the church’s pastors, David Easterwood, leads a local ICE field office in St. Paul.

After the group chanted slogans such as "ICE out!" and demanded justice for Renee Good — a protester who intentionally blocked traffic on a residential street and subsequently drove her SUV into an ICE officer who fatally shot her on Jan. 10 — the service was forced to abruptly conclude, and left attendees, including several children, visibly shaken.

The thoughts don't feel wrong

I don't know how to start this. The thoughts are all passive, no plans, no guts and thankfully my spirituality helps against it being active but the suicidal ideation is just too much today and it's absolutely impossible coping. I need to get back in my bed and not do anything, I literally cannot do anything else. I am scared, I am literally months behind in doing crucial life stuff and January was going to be the month where I recapture some of the lost opportunities that are still salvageable but something happened yesterday and it has destroyed me and the ideation is absolutely beyond debilitating. I'm afraid to tell anyone who asks me if I'm feeling any better from the day before, no I am not, I'm feeling worse. Yes people may give up on me because I'm as capable of being reached as a brick wall yet I don't want to lose them or you. I just need your presence even if you don't talk to me every second.

When I said that the thoughts don't feel wrong, I don't mean that they feel good; I just mean that I think it's logical to feel this way.

New believer looking for more of Christ!

Hello fellow brothers and sisters!
I am a fresh, born-again believer who is looking to grow more in the Lord every single day. I have found this forum through some rabbit holes (I tend to fall into those) when researching online about ways to be a good Christian, things I should and shouldn't do, and when I began craving a deeper understanding of His Word and His purpose for my life.

To give a brief summary of my life (lol), I grew up without any religion in my home. We leaned Christian when it came to celebrating holidays (i.e., we celebrated Christmas and Easter without us kids really understanding the meaning) and we attended church seldomly for things like Christmas Eve service. I also started to attend Bible studies when I was a teenager because it was what all of my friends were doing, but not because I craved a deeper relationship with Christ.

From there my life kind of spiraled and I'm sure I'll go more into that in other forums. To make a long story short, I have struggled with many trials and have finally found peace in the Father. In 2024, I was at one of the lowest points in my life, and God intervened in such a supernatural way that I couldn't ignore Him anymore. He washed over my body and mind and soul in my dark bedroom showing me that I am truly loved and cared for by Him. I felt the force of the Living Water encounter my carnal being, and I have been running the race ever since!

I am so excited to meet all of you and to hear your stories. I crave fellowship and am encouraged by the community that has been created here. Thank you for reading and for having me! May the Lord's peace be with you all in each and every moment!

Beware of the False Prophets

“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits.” (Matthew 7:15-20 NASB1995)

Who is a prophet? What does a prophet do? A prophet of God is a messenger of God who speaks God’s messages to the people. So, to prophesy is to preach, to proclaim the word of God in practical and biblical ways which can be applied to our daily lives. So this isn’t all about future telling, but this is about proclaiming the truths taught us in the Scriptures to the people of the world, and to the church, the body of believers in Christ, for our salvation from sin, our sanctification, and our eternal life with God.

Therefore, what is a false prophet? Well, a false prophet is not a true messenger of God, but a fake who does not speak truth to the people, but lies, and in order to lead them to what is false and to what is not of God, while pretending that what they are saying is of God. They are imposters who make an appearance of being followers of Jesus Christ but whose goal is to deceive the masses into believing their lies. So they specialize in the art of misimpressions, deliberately blending truth and lies together to deceive.

So, false prophets are not always going to be obvious to most people. For they will appear that they are one of us, and that they are followers of Christ, and they will be charming and persuasive and very convincing and believable. Most of them will be smooth talkers who know how to twist the truth in order to teach lies, but to make it look like what they are teaching is the truth. And many people will follow after them, because they will like what they are teaching, for it will appease and appeal to human flesh.

And, if truth be told, many who call themselves “ministers of the gospel” are false prophets who are preaching lies to the people, and people are being drawn to them because what they tell them makes them feel good, and so they think it is good. But just because it feels good it doesn’t mean it is good, and usually it means the opposite of good. For many are teaching that we can just “claim who you are in Christ” and that covers all premeditated, deliberate, and habitual sin. But does it? No! For what did Jesus teach?

Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him.

And what did the apostle Paul teach?

So, one of the main ways in which we know if someone is teaching the truth or not is by us being serious students of the Scriptures who study them in their correct biblical context and who test what we are hearing against the Scriptures taught in the appropriate biblical context. But this doesn’t mean that everyone who does not teach the truth is a false prophet. Many just learned the gospel wrong, and so they are passing on what they learned. So we must be careful to not misjudge and to not miscategorize people, either.

But in the same respect, we should not be too quick to give people a pass if these are people of notoriety, power, influence, and control who have an enormous influence over the people. We should definitely be testing what they are teaching against the Scriptures (in context), and we should also be listening and watching for indications of what kind of lifestyles they are living, and if that contradicts the Scriptures. And then we should pray much for spiritual discernment and the guidance of the Spirit into all truth.

As the Deer

By Martin J. Nystrom
Based off Psalm 42:1

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after You
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

Jesus = Michael?

So, I used to associate with the 7th Day Adventist Church even though I never officially joined them. Even though I no longer agree with their doctrines, I still find their theology fascinating and like to debate them from the Bible.

There is one doctrine I associated with the SDA that I don't recall hearing about during my time among them. It's the idea that Jesus Christ and the Archangel Michael are the same person.

Now, tbf to the Adventists, thet don't actually think that Jesus was an angel or a created being. How it was explained to me is that "Michael" is the name the angels use to refer to Jesus Christ. Also, "archangel" refers to a position or rank, not a type of Angel. In other words, Jesus is not an angel, but he is the commander over the angels.

Idk what to make of this. It's definitely a niche view, but I don't think it's exactly heretical since the Adventists are denying Christ's divinity nor his eternal nature.

While there seems to be some similarities with the Jehovah's Witness doctrine, there are some differences. It's not surprising since the JWs came out of Adventism.

What are your thoughts aboht this?

The Character Traits of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob graciously gave the Law of Moses in order to teach us how know Him by embodying His character traits. For example, the Law of Moses teaches us how to be holy as God is holy (1 Peter 1:16, Leviticus 11:44-45). The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact likeness of His character (Hebrews 1:3), which he embodied through his works by setting a sinless example for us to follow of how to walk in obedience to the Law of Moses. So does the God that you believe in have the character traits that the Law of Moses was graciously given to teach us how to embody? If so, then your goal should be to know Him by embodying His character traits through following Christ's example of obedience to the Law of Moses. However, if the God that you believe in has different character traits than the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, then the God that you believe in is not the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

A picture scene created by the Holy Spirit

Hi everyone, I wanted to share this video with you of a timber log that was blessed and a picture appeared on it the next day. God gave the Holy Spirit the authority to create this on this timber log. I think that this shows the diversity that God has as well for his children. My minister said at church that the Holy Spirit can do so many diverse things such as this. I am so grateful. Some people have said they see this image of people and children and animals and some struggle to see it, but it is there and been confirmed by neighbours who have visisted my home and seen this timber log in person and the original owner who gave it to me plain has seen it to and found it marvelling.

Porn Addiction

I’ve made it to 4 weeks sober from PMO! YES! I’m super pumped. I wish I would have achieved this earlier in my life but as they say, better late than never.

I was introduced to porn at an early age. Throughout my life, I’ve used it as a coping mechanism to handle stress and as a sleep aid. No I have developed healthier habits and my brain isn’t depleted of its dopamine, so I have the energy to complete my healthy habits and attack my goals. My brain is healing and yours can too.

There’s so much I want to achieve in my life and this is what has motivated me to get sober. Porn was like chains ⛓️ holding me back and I was finally able to break through ⛓️‍.

The benefits I’ve noticed are that my mind is much more sharp, I’m much more motivated, it’s easier to wake up early, and just an overall state of wellbeing.

I recommend meditating ‍♂️ to help you pull this off. And if you’re close with God, confide in Him and He will bless you and help you pull through.

So unhappy

This is pretty much me just complaining about things that aren’t going to change.. but I’m struggling so much with overwhelming unhappiness in my life. It’s not even like there’s many “bad things” happening in my life that I can complain about. Just part of me was always hoping that life would somehow be more enjoyable.
I’m struggling to find joy in the work I do. My career path has basically flatlined and I’m financially capped. I can’t afford anything nice so it’s just living on the basics.. then I work with a coworker who makes me mentally sick because he’s so difficult to deal with. Last year I lost thousands of dollars taking time off work to get away from him. It financially set me back years. I already struggle with the idea of working for our entire lives. But for some reason this is “Gods plan” for me?

Then I’ve tried seeing doctors about anti depressants. The medication doesn’t help. They keep telling me to get a girlfriend but my anxiety and depression are always getting in the way.. sometimes I meet people from online but can never seem to find someone where we mutually connect. It’s just so frustrating.

I just don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing anymore. Just wondering around lost with no clue what to do.
I’m sorry for complaining. It’s just I could use some external perspective. I appreciate you taking the time to read my complaining.
