  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. Steve Hilton vows to end 'obscenity' of men in women's sports if elected Calif. governor

A California gubernatorial candidate is vowing to end the “obscenity of biological boys in girls’ sports” as he encourages Republicans to remain optimistic about the party’s chances in the uphill quests to win major statewide races this year.

Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Church in Chino Hills, California, hosted a discussion with two Republican candidates seeking statewide office in California this year: gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton and attorney general candidate Michael Gates. The two candidates shared their views on the problems roiling California and what they would do if elected.

California hasn't had a Republican governor since Arnold Schwarzenegger left office after the 2010 election and hasn't had a Republican attorney general in decades.

Pimps

My family and I moved here to southern Alabama a few years ago. I think 3 years ago?

At first, we went and lived in a relatively nice and peaceful neighborhood here in the City of Mobile.

Well, unfortunately, we had a neighbor living directly across the street from us who I am almost 100% certain was a pimp of some kind. Ladies were constantly going in and out from his house and he had a pimped out car, everything.

I am sure there was some form of prostitution going on in his house.

As a Christian, I did not interact with him. I was always taught to stay away from the wrong crowd and according to the Bible, prostitution is not allowed and I think its gross anyway. We are supposed to keep ourselves sexually pure until we get married.

Down here in South Alabama we have a culture of gangsters and pimps, unfortunately, so it seems. Can't seem to get totally away from them, even if I want to. And I do. A church lady like me feels out of place among these criminals.

Mind control from space

Grok is now the Pentagon’s AI. Grok is owned by Musk who is now pals with Trump again. Musk also has his Starlink service through SpaceX and a Neuralink company looking at the human machine interface. At present chip- chemical interfaces are in the early stages and their most obvious advantage is a medical one. However in the future this technology could have military uses. Mobile data already accounts for 60% of internet traffic, there are a growing number of sensors collecting data from your mobiles. AI uses ten times the energy that old style search methods used but it is also far more effective in profiling users. At the moment in the West the Main motive for that is more effective marketing. In China and Russia the same tech is already being used for control. If they did perfect the chip- human interface then a ubiquitous network like Starlink could theoretically plant nudged suggestions in your mind by remote control.

What can we do to prevent such remote control in the future? Will competition between AI firms help, will human centric legislation like the EU AI Act be crucial? How effective could localised , custom AI be in defending agency from the hidden mechanisms of collection and control?

Walk By The Spirit

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Galatians 5:16-21 NASB1995)

What does it mean to “walk by the Spirit”? It means to live our lives, day in and day out, according to God’s holy word, under the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit, as empowered by the Spirit of God in holy living. For God’s grace, which is bringing us salvation, is training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives while we wait for Jesus’ return. This means that we live for God to do his will, and we no longer live to please our sinful flesh, for we love God.

For, although the people of God were no longer bound by the Old Covenant liturgical, ceremonial, sacrificial, purification, circumcision, dietary, and Sabbath laws, they were not free to live however they wanted to live. They were not free from having to obey God, and they were not free to sin as much as they wanted. For God’s grace was not free license to sin, but God’s grace was what sent Jesus Christ to the cross to put our sins to death with him so we will now live in freedom from slavery to sin, by God’s grace.

For the desires of the flesh are in opposition to the desires of the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are in opposition to the desires of the flesh. And this is so that we do not do the things that our sin nature would have us do, but so that we will do the will of God, instead. For the sin nature leads us away from God to doing what our fleshly appetites crave, whereby our new nature in Christ Jesus, of the Spirit, leads us to do what is of God, i.e. what is morally pure, upright, honest, faithful, and obedient to God’s commands.

And then this gives us a partial list of the works of the flesh which are contrary to the Spirit and to faith in Jesus Christ. And they include sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, and orgies. And other lists include adultery, homosexuality, murder, deceit, maliciousness, gossip, slander, inventors of evil, faithlessness, haters of God, disobedience, thievery, greed, swindlers, corrupt talk, bitterness, and unforgiveness, etc.

[Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:16-21; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Colossians 3:5-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8]

We, as followers of Jesus Christ, are no longer to live as slaves to sin, making sin our practice. For what does it say here? “I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” And we need to take that seriously, for that is what Jesus taught and what his New Testament apostles taught. But it is not what is commonly being taught today. For so many today are coddling people in their sins, and they are making excuses for them to continue living in their sins.

But Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

For by God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ, which is not of our own doing, we are crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to righteousness in walks of obedience to God’s commands. We are no longer to permit sin to reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires. For if sin is what we obey, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God (see Romans 6:1-23).

As the Deer

By Martin J. Nystrom
Based off Psalm 42:1

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after You
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

Prayer request for my dad

My dad had an MRI or CT scan a month or two ago and finally had an appointment today to sit down with his neurologist. He's been diagnosed with Alzheimers, he's 78 so it's not like it's shocking but he's still stunned and my mom is very scared. I'm not supposed to know yet cause my folks were going to tell the family after my dad chooses which kind of treatment he's going to take on.

For me all I can think about now is the urgency for my dad to convert. I think he's wanted to be Catholic for a while cause he has a lot of fond memories attached to all the Catholic families he grew up with in his community. He sees it as more regal and dignified than that pentecostalism he was raised in. The thing that concerns me is, it seems obvious that he acknowledges the Catholic Church is the true Church, but he's not converting cause he doesn't want to come in without my mom and my mom balks at every turn.

If you could pray for his and my moms conversions, I'm going to approach him about it soon and frame it as being in the faith is the best possible way to walk through this late chapter in life that brings this big change. Hopefully he'll just go for it and then my mom will follow his example.

When should a pastor be restored after sexual sin?

Few questions test the Church’s commitment to both grace and truth more than how it responds when a pastor falls into sexual sin. In recent years, Christians have often swung between two extremes: permanent disqualification on one hand, and premature restoration on the other. Neither approach reflects the full counsel of Scripture.

Jesus’ teaching on forgiveness is unequivocal. When Peter asked how many times he must forgive a brother who sins against him, Jesus replied, “Not seven times, but seventy times seven” (Matthew 18:22). Luke’s Gospel records Jesus pressing the point even further: “If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, ‘I repent,’ forgive him” (Luke 17:4). Forgiveness, then, is not conditional on frequency, severity, or timing. Even repeated repentance within a single day requires forgiveness.

But Scripture never equates forgiveness with reinstatement to leadership.

Forgiveness restores relationship; leadership entrusts authority. Confusing these categories has caused deep harm in the Church — either by crushing repentant leaders under endless punishment or by exposing congregations to unnecessary risk. The Bible holds grace and responsibility together without collapsing one into the other.

Pastors are judged by a higher standard precisely because they carry spiritual authority. “Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness” (James 3:1). The qualifications for overseers in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 emphasize being “above reproach,” “self-controlled,” and “faithful.” These are not demands for sinless perfection, but they do require credibility, maturity, and trustworthiness.

Shooting at Greg Locke’s home sparked by 'beef' between stepson and shooter: prosecutor

A 2024 shooting at the former home of controversial Tennessee Pastor Greg Locke, which forced him to relocate, was sparked by a “beef” between the shooter and his 17-year-old stepson and was not an attack on the pastor or his ministry, according to the Wilson County District Attorney’s Office.

“This had nothing to do with Greg Locke, except he owned the house where it [shooting] happened. It wasn't retribution for anything he did. It had nothing to do with his teachings,” Wilson County Assistant District Attorney Tammy Meade told The Christian Post on Thursday.

“I have some of the best investigators in the country that worked this case. There is no doubt in my mind, and I've been doing this for 30 years, that this had nothing to do with that church. It was between the juvenile and one of his friends. It was a beef between young men.”

Karoline Leavitt blames 'deranged' Democrat officials for inflaming violence against ICE

WASHINGTON — White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt accused Democratic elected officials during a Thursday briefing of inflaming violence against federal law enforcement, but stopped short of revealing how much more President Donald Trump might tolerate before invoking the threatened Insurrection Act of 1807.

"That's only a question, frankly, the president can answer," Leavitt said in response to a question about what Trump's "tipping point" is on using the 19th-century law, which she noted remains "a tool at the president's disposal."

In a Truth Social post on Thursday morning, Trump threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act of 1807 to restore order amid ongoing riots against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials in Minneapolis following a second ICE-involved shooting Wednesday night. The shooting took place when an ICE officer shot Julio Cesar Sosa Celis, an illegal Venezuelan immigrant, in the leg after Celis allegedly fled a traffic stop and ambushed him with a shovel.

Democratic senator says he prays for Trump, president is 'not my enemy'

Democrat U.S. Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware recently revealed that he prays for Republican President Donald Trump and does not consider him to be “my enemy.”

New York Avenue Presbyterian Church of Washington, D.C. hosted an event on Monday titled “Living Out One's Faith in Difficult Times: An Evening with Senator Chris Coons.”

During his remarks, Coons, who has served in the Senate since 2010, said he received mixed reactions when he prayed with Trump on stage during the 2017 National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.

“I said, ‘Mr. President, would you please stand with me? I want to pray for you,’” Coons recounted, when talking about the risks that one takes in faith. “Now why is that a risk at all?”

“And to the hundreds who called and texted and complained about what I did, I said ‘what part of pray for your enemies did you not understand?’ And he is not my enemy.”

“How many of us pray for Donald Trump every day? Anybody?” Coons asked his audience, with the senator raising his own hand while asking. “Joe Biden said ‘you can’t just love your country when you’re winning.’”

But Because I Tell You The Truth

I am going to repeat a little bit of the Scripture passage from the previous writing, but with additional Scriptures, with a slightly different emphasis:

John 8:42-47 NASB1995: Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but he sent me. Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word. You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”

The picture the Lord is giving me this afternoon is of someone (not anyone specifically) who professes faith in Jesus Christ but who has had a lifetime of addiction to sin, most probably in the area of sexual sin, although it could be something else, but a sin which greatly entraps, controls, and does not let go. And it is extremely destructive, particularly to marriage relationships. This person has made many attempts to free themselves from the addiction, but usually in the flesh, and so it never works. So they remain addicted.

Now, this person is not very good at masking the sin, i.e. they are not good at putting on a performance, but they try. Thus, what is going on inside them is known to be shown in their eyes, their face, their attitudes, their body posture, their behaviors, and in their words. For they are unsettled, unstable, living on the edge, out of control, with no boundaries, no limits, driven by the sin which holds them captive, unable to change in themselves, and attempting to cover it all up with lies, performances, and fakery.

Now this person has been offered the gift of salvation from sin and eternal life with God, and they have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, but they have not been willing to let go of their addictive sin and to let God take control of their lives. So, they have not died with Christ to sin, and they are not living for God and for his righteousness in walks of holiness, and in moral purity, in devotion to obeying the Lord and his commands. For that sin is still holding them captive, and they are still yielding to its control over their lives.

Therefore, they also do not receive the gospel message that Jesus and his New Testament apostles taught, taught in the correct biblical context. But they are following an altered “gospel” message which gives them permission to keep returning to their vomit over again, and to never be faithful to their spouses, so to never truly love God or their spouses. And so that gives them the excuse to live in sin while they may make some human effort to change, but while biblical repentance and obedience to God is not ever their practice.

They live for themselves, and not for God, and to please their flesh, and not to please God, and to be faithful to their addiction, but not to be faithful to their spouses. For their journey is largely about what pleases them and/or what makes other people think well of them, and so they perform for an audience in order to be accepted. So they might appear in public in a way which is in contradiction to the way they live when they are in private. For they want others to think well of them. And so they mostly live a lie.

But those who live a lie, who live according to the flesh, to please the flesh and not to please God, they are not of God. God is not their Father, and Jesus Christ is not their Lord and Savior. For to love God/Christ is to obey God, to do what he says. And Jesus said if we want to come after him that we must deny self, die daily to sin (take up our cross daily) and follow him in obedience to his commands. But many who profess his name do not follow him, but they continue on their own sinful course, doing what they desire.

And they may be students of the Scriptures, or even pastors and teachers of the Scriptures, but they do not put into practice what the Word teaches. For their will is to do the will of the devil who is the author of lies and adultery and all that is evil and wicked and immoral. And they follow after his lies, for then they can continue in their sinful addiction without conscience. So, if someone speaks the truth of the gospel to them, spoken in love, they will reject the truth in favor of the lie, because they are not really of God.

So, please take this to heart, and don’t play with sin, but obey God.

Your bond is broken with your Lord and Savior
And your testimony is separate from Him.
Your words not matching your actions today.
Repent of your sin and bow down and pray.
Live what you testify in truth always.

Purity’s lacking in your life and witness,
For you profess one thing, but other you do.
Not moral, spiritual. Still of the flesh.
Not living in truth to what you confess.
Lying about it puts you in a mess.

Living a lie is your practice, ‘tis true of you.
Masquerade righteousness – none of it true.
Your heart is not given to your Lord God.
Because of how you live, you are a fraud.
Turn from your sin and give your life to God.

Our language with the homosexual “marriage”

I recently had a quick exchange with someone on a thread; we both found the homosexual “marriage” to be wrong, however we had a disagreement whether it is OK to consider a woman to be related as a wife to another woman, if such is her official status.

First, here is the definition of marriage according to the Noah Webster 1828 Dictionary, which is close to the biblical definition (emphasis mine):
The act of uniting a man and a woman for life; wedlock; the legal union of a man and a woman for life. (...). Marriage was instituted by God Himself (...). “Marriage is honorable in all and the bed undefiled” Hebrew 13.

Let's say that I know of a christian man that is getting married with a non-christian woman. I would not agree with their union, as not being done in obedience to God, because He commanded us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, as if righteousness could have fellowship with unrighteousness and light communion with darkness (2 Cor. 6:14). However, although I disapprove the union, it still fits the above biblical definition of marriage, so that I will recognize its validity. Then, when I'll speak about this union, I will call it a marriage, and in consequence, I will consider the man to be a husband to the woman, and the woman to be a wife to the man.

Now, if someone considers a woman to be related as a wife to another woman, this implies that he considers their relationship to be a marriage. He may disapprove such a “marriage”, just as I disapprove the above marriage between a christian man and a non-christian woman, but his language shows, that their union must be in accordance with his definition of marriage. I may not know what exactly his definition of marriage is, but in my view it must contradict the biblical definition of marriage in either way:
1) Marriage wasn't instituted by God but by men, therefore men have the liberty to change this institution as they see fit
2) God didn't institute marriage to be exclusively between a man and a woman

Marriage is honorable in all” (Heb. 13:4): this verse also imply that we must use a language that honors marriage, but if our language calls a relation against nature (Rom. 1:26-27), which is an abomination to God (Lev. 18:22), to be a “marriage”, then we dishonor marriage with our language!

More than that: marriage belongs to the things that God says to be very good as He made them (Gen. 1:28,31). Aren't we causing a great confusion, when we use the same word for naming what God says to be very good as for naming what God says to be an abomination? Or if God told us that light has no communion with darkness, how can we put good and evil under the same denomination? Should we then wonder if our children grow into confusion and rebellion against God, if they hear us speak like that?

Riley Gaines says she wraps her newborn baby in BULLETPROOF BLANKET because of threats on her life

Conservative activist Riley Gaines said she had to wrap her newborn daughter in a bulletproof blanket because threats on her life have become so intense.

Gaines, an anti-trans activist, shared the bizarre detail on Fox News' Outnumbered on Wednesday as she and the hosts discussed the ongoing argument given to the US Supreme Court that could result in a ban on trans-identified males from competing in female sports.

Riley, who welcomed her three-month-old daughter Margot in September, brought up how her life has changed since having her and being in her high-profile role.

'I'll tell you, having a little human being, especially a little daughter who's here with me today... She goes everywhere with me. She's been to 16 states, she's met the president. She's gonna be super dangerous at two truths and a lie one day,' Gaines, 25, joked.

While the hosts laughed at her comment, Gaines quickly took a serious turn in the conversation.

'She was there with me on the Supreme Court steps. And honestly, just as you said, there's a level of emotion to it, especially when you have to consider the fact [that] you have a three-month-old baby that you have to wrap in a bulletproof blanket because of the threats that were present there yesterday,' Gaines said, appearing to get a little emotional.

Bulletproof blankets have grown popular over the years amid an increasing surge in gun violence. They typically range from $500 to $2,000.

Oklahoma city council rejects proposal to build 15-acre Islamic center, mosque

Democrats accuse residents of deliberately mispronouncing Muslim names

City officials in Oklahoma have rejected a plan to build a 15-acre development with an Islamic center and mosque.

In a packed special meeting that drew more than 1,000 attendees and lasted nearly four hours, the Broken Arrow City Council voted 4-1 on Monday night to deny a rezoning request for a proposed Islamic center and mosque on 15 acres of land near South Olive Avenue in the city, a suburb of Tulsa.

The land, purchased in 2014 by the North American Islamic Trust and affiliated with the Islamic Society of Tulsa, has been at the center of intense local debate since late last year. The proposal sought to rezone the property from agricultural to commercial general to permit construction of a place of worship, along with community services such as a food pantry and a free medical clinic.

More than 400 residents on both sides of the issue signed up for public comment at Monday’s meeting, as supporters emphasized religious freedom, community integration, and the need for a second worship space to relieve overcrowding at existing facilities in the Tulsa area, where as many as 10,000 Muslims reside.

Kristi Noem Says US Citizens Should Be Prepared to Prove US Citizenship

LINK

"In every situation we are doing targeted enforcement," said Noem during a press gaggle outside the White House Thursday in response to a reporter asking why some Americans have been asked to provide proof of citizenship in Minnesota.

"If we are on a target, there may be individuals surrounding that criminal that we may be asking who they are and why they're there and having them validate their identity," Noem said.

Last January, among President Donald Trump's list of executive orders was one requiring that immigrants carry proof of their legal status, such as their visa, green card, or other form of ID.

Now, with thousands of people protesting against ICE and smaller groups working as legal observers of federal agent activity, U.S. citizens are also coming into close contact with those who may ask for proof of ID under this rule.

When the rule was emphasized by Trump, there were warnings that if all immigrants were supposed to carry documentation, by default all people in the U.S. would have to carry ID so that they were not wrongly identified as an illegal immigrant.

And here we are.

Avi Meyerstein, founder of The Alliance for Middle East Peace, on X: "Unlike many places in the world, Americans are not required to carry ID to walk down the street. It's a freedom many may have taken for granted."

Joshua Windham, senior attorney at the Institute for Justice, told Newsweek: "First, the notion that DHS is always doing targeted enforcement is simply false. There are countless reports and videos of DHS officers stopping and questioning people about whom they have no prior information and whom they do not reasonably suspect of violating any law. Suspicion-less stops—when the person is not free to leave—are flatly unconstitutional. Second, American citizens are not legally required to carry proof of citizenship as they go about their daily lives, and that's no less true when they happen to be near somebody DHS targets. We do not live in a 'show your papers' society."

...“when you think of it, we shouldn't even have an election.” Reuters Trump interview.

Five takeaways from the Reuters interview of President Trump

When asked about Americans' worries about high prices, Trump reiterated that the economy was the strongest “in history” and said he had to do a better job of promoting his achievements. (He referred to a specially prepared thick binder that listed his accomplishments in office.)

The president suggested that he follows his own compass. “A lot of times, you can't convince a voter,” he said. “You have to just do what's right. And then a lot of the things I did were not really politically popular. They turned out to be when it worked out so well.”

_______

MANAGING MIDTERM EXPECTATIONS
The president expressed frustration that his Republican Party could lose control of the U.S. House of Representatives or the Senate in this year’s midterm elections, citing historical trends that have seen the party in power lose seats in the second year of a presidency.

“It's some deep psychological thing, but when you win the presidency, you don't win the midterms,” Trump said. He boasted that he had accomplished so much that “when you think of it, we shouldn't even have an election.”

Evangelical leader criticizes Trump for flipping off factory worker: 'Coarsening of civic conduct'

Employee raises over $600K after suspension

A prominent conservative Evangelical political leader has criticized President Donald Trump's explicit gesture to a Ford factory worker in Michigan this week, calling out the "coarsening of our civic conduct."

Tony Perkins, who heads the Washington-based Christian conservative advocacy group Family Research Council, took to Facebook on Wednesday to respond to a news article about Trump's interaction with a factory worker who shouted at him.

Video of the encounter shared by TMZ shows Trump standing on an elevated walkway, shouting an obscenity and raising his middle finger after the factory worker reportedly called him a “pedophile protector," a reference to the ongoing controversy over the president's handling of federal records related to the late billionaire and registered sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Do you guys just want to yak?

*deep sigh* I am finding a lack of interesting things to talk about. I have gone through nearly every thread replying to a lot of things.

I guess I am bored now.

So I will start to talk about something random:

When I was researching recipes online, I found a chocolate cake recipe that was made from a cottage cheese base! I had never heard of such a thing so imagine how amazed I was.

Here it is:

I guess we can talk about food now. If you're hungry. If not, I don't care.

Unforgivable Sin

I have religious OCD (psychiatrically diagnosed) and am obsessed with committing the unpardonable sin. It is my worst fear. I suffer from intense blasphemous thoughts against the Holy Spirit which I do not mean but cannot stop and have even said them out loud under OCD compulsion. Have I committed the unpardonable sin, even though I desire to be healed from this and serve God?

Prayer for peace and quiet

Hello. I moved to new house in a new suburb some months ago and thought this neighbourhood would be quiet, but there are these people that live around the corner that play loud music, shout and laugh through almost all hours of the day. Thankfully they don’t live next door like the previous place but they might as well since they are so loud.

I am very sensitive to noise. Loud sounds cause me great distress. I love peace and quiet. I have thought about involving the local government but I hope it doesn’t have to come to that. Please pray that these people either leave or become quiet. Thank you.

If We Continue In His Word

John 8:30-36 NASB1995: As He spoke these things, many came to believe in Him. So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?” Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.”

Do you see what Jesus was saying here? Do you understand the gospel message he was teaching here? He did not teach that we could believe in him and therefore we are now saved from all sins and heaven is now secured for us when we die. He let those who believed in him know that if they CONTINUED in his word (in his teachings), then they were truly his disciples (followers). And he let them know that everyone who commits (practices) sin is a slave to sin, and the slaves will not have eternal life.

For Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him.

Now, this is not the gospel message which is commonly being taught today in the USA where I live. The majority all appear to be teaching an altered man-created version of “the gospel” which appeases human flesh and which makes no requirements of “believers” to die to sin and to obey God in practice. Many are teaching a gospel which denies that any of us have to repent of our sins or obey God, while others make it optional, for they rely upon verbal confessions of faith in Jesus Christ to give them eternal life.

So, what is commonly taught today as “the gospel” is a mixture of truth and lies created in the minds of humans who want to convince people that they can “believe” in Jesus and that now secures them forgiveness of all sins and heaven as their eternal destiny, but regardless of how they live. Although some people may teach this innocently, there are many charlatans and “wolves in sheep’s clothing” among us, some (or many) of them serving as pastors of “churches,” who are lying to the people, to send them to hell.

And yet you will rarely hear any preacher preach that if sin is our practice, and not obedience to God and to his commands, that we will not inherit eternal life with God, even if we did make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. But it is what Jesus taught. It is what his New Testament apostles taught. And if we read the Scriptures in their appropriate biblical context we will see that our salvation from sin and the hope of eternal life with God require that we obey God, and not sin, as a matter of life practice.

So, please take this to heart. And please do not depend upon anyone, no matter who they are, to tell you the truth. But study the Scriptures for yourselves, in their full and appropriate biblical context, and you will see that Jesus and his apostles taught salvation from sin and eternal life with God as requiring that we, by God-persuaded faith in Jesus Christ, must die with Christ to sin and now live to please God in walks of surrender to him in obedience to his commands, or we do not have eternal life with God.

Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.

Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.

Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.

Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.
Trust Him with your life today.
