Renee Good's father-in-law doesn't blame ICE for her death, urges Americans to 'turn to God'

The ex-father-in-law of Renee Good says he doesn't blame Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for her death, and is calling on Americans to “turn to God" at this time.

During an appearance on CNN’s “OutFront with Erin Burnett” Wednesday, Timmy Macklin Sr. reacted to the incident last week in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where his ex-daughter-in-law was shot and killed as she struck an ICE agent while driving an SUV.

“Renee was an amazing person,” he recalled. Praising Good as “full of love,” “full of joy,” and a “real gentle” and “good mother,” he lamented that sometimes, "we make bad choices." He stressed that he didn't blame Renee for what happened to her, but believes that if she had been following God, she wouldn't have put herself in that situation.

“There’s so much chaos in the whole world today and that’s why the Bible says, ‘If my people would humble themselves and seek His face and pray and turn from their wicked ways, God will hear from Heaven and forgive our sins and heal our wounds,’” he added, quoting from 2 Chronicles 7:14. “We need to turn to God and walk in the spirit of God … and let Him lead us and guide us.”

Supreme Court will decide on use of warrants that collect the location history of cellphone users

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court agreed Friday to decide the constitutionality of broad search warrants that collect the location history of cellphone users to find people near crime scenes.

The case involves what is a known as a “geofence warrant” that was served on Google in a police hunt for a bank robber in suburban Richmond, Virginia. Geofence warrants, an increasingly popular investigative tool, seek location data on every person within a specific location over a certain period of time.

Pentagon moves to turn independent military outlet into a ‘mouthpiece,’ advocates warn

The Trump administration is exerting political pressure on Stars & Stripes, the independent military newspaper that informs US servicemembers worldwide.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell announced Thursday that the Department of Defense will “modernize” the outlet and “refocus its content away from woke distractions that syphon morale, and adapt it to serve a new generation of service members.”

Parnell’s statement came as a shock to staffers at Stars & Stripes, who haven’t heard directly about any changes yet, and who now fear that the news outlet’s independence and credibility is at risk.

The statement also drew swift criticism from several Democratic lawmakers and First Amendment advocates.

Rights Of Convicted Non-citizens Whose Sentence Has Finished

Based on the answer to the question below, I believe that we can have a bifurcated discussion on how Trump should proceed, given his policies toward undocumented immigrants and deportation. Personally, I think that the most straightforward way to limit Trump's ICE policy is for the federal government to have access to those jailed non-citizens convicted of certain crimes.

RIGHTS OF NON-CITIZEN CONVICTS WHOSE TERM HAS FINISHED

Should the federal government be given lists of non-citizens who are completing their prison terms and be allowed to interview them before release to assess whether individuals are qualified to remain in the US or perhaps should be subject to judicial review of their status? Who should make this decision?
====================
This is a matter a matter of balancing the rights of non-citizen criminals against the stated needs of the federal government.
===================
The actions of Trump on immigration and with regard to sending ICE and troops to Democratic cities may be related, but, for me, that should be a separate discussion.
===================
I think that there are very clear ramifications of the answer to this underlying question. For example, if states refuse, and if there are even a relatively small number of those who by law should be deported who are now being released into the community, then the federal government might decide that there is a reason to camp out around every prison and detain those who might be deportable.

Is prepping a reasonable strategy to avoid the Mark of the Beast

Hey y'all,

I have recently been engaging with different believers on the concept of prepping, and the various pros and cons around it. I think we'd all (or most of us at least!) agree that "tearing down barns to build bigger) is not the most consistent strategy when it comes to the end times or the Mark of the Beast for a Christian living by faith in God. That said, I think there are reasonable arguments in favor of responsible and moderate "preparation"... although we might debate on what that looks like exactly.

Anyhow, I'm curious to hear what you think of the arguments made in this video, and whether you think its position is reasonable or not. I think to the COVID time period in particular, where everyone felt glad they had some 'stocks' of things like toilet paper in advance, before things got all closed down on lockdown. We don't know what exactly will be the surrounding circumstances when the Mark fully comes. But it does make sense to give it some thought in advance, before that time fully comes.

'Degrading and dangerous': Nurses forced to undress in front of trans-identified man celebrate court victory

A group of nurses have won their case against the NHS after they were forced to share their changing room with a trans-identifying man.

Employment Judge Sweeney and tribunal members Denise Newey and Malcolm Brain ruled that the policy enforced by County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust had failed to take the nurses' concerns seriously and amounted to unlawful harassment and discrimination.

The tribunal concluded that the policy violated the dignity of the nurses and created "a hostile, humiliating and degrading environment."

It is the latest landmark judgment to be handed down on transgenderism after the Supreme Court last year declaredthat the legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex. That ruling determined that the use of public facilities, like changing rooms, should be based on one's sex, not subjective feelings.

Two of my family members need salvation

My older sister and her husband, my brother-in-law. Both of them told me they were atheists.

I know my brother-in-law is a hardcore atheist, but my older sister not so much. She told me in a way, like she thinks its too late for her to come back to the Light. I want her to know its never too late to come to Jesus and save herself!

Its like on Star Wars when Luke told his dad (Darth Vader) to come back to the Light and that he sensed there was good in him and he said: "It's too late for me, my son."

My older sister is acting like Darth Vader and I'm like Luke. I want her to come back to the Light of Christ and stop walking in darkness!

Please pray they both get saved!

Thousands of Floridians to lose access to life-saving AIDS drugs under Florida cuts spurred by ACA cuts

At least 10,000 Floridians could loseaccess to life-saving HIV medication because Congress didn’t extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits last fall, according to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ administration.

The Florida Department of Health is justifying deep cuts to theAIDS Drug Assistance Program, which provides medication tolow-income people living with HIV/AIDS, by saying it will prevent a dramatic $120 million funding shortfall.

The department is mailing letters this month to thousands of recipients, telling them they’ll be cut off from the decades-old program on March 1.

His Department of Health has not asked the Legislature to fill in the funding, though Ladapo on Wednesday suggested there may be funding solutions that aren’t onerous. And in Senate committees Wednesday, the department was accused of dropping a bombshell on thousands of Floridians with little notice.

“I can’t understand why there’s been no transparency,” said David Poole, who oversaw Florida’s AIDS program from 1993 to 2005. “There is something seriously wrong.”

The program’s cuts could be especially impactful in Florida, which has long been at the top of the list for states with high HIV rates. In 2016 and 2021, Florida had the highest number of new HIV cases of any state.

Among the states, Florida also has one of the largest shares of people who use the AIDS Drug Assistance Program who are on the federal marketplace: about 31% as of 2023.

Carl Schmid, the executive director of the HIV+Hepatitis Policy Institute, called the state’s abrupt changes to the drug coverage program cruel and life-threatening.

“This is a long-established program that’s been around for decades and that people are relying on to live,” Schmid said.

California Billionaires Are Leaving the State in Response to Proposed Wealth Tax

“The ultrarich are leaving California as a result of a proposed billionaire tax. "Eat the rich" may be a popular rallying cry, but it's not viable public policy.

The ballot measure, which was submitted in November 2025 by Suzanne Jimenez, a health care union representative, would impose a one-time 5 percent tax on billionaires who were California residents as of the measure's tax "obligation date" of January 1. Even though the initiative has not yet passed, venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya estimates that $1 trillion of billionaire wealth "has left California" in advance of the measure's tax obligation date. California billionaires have also taken "income tax revenue, sales tax revenue, real estate tax revenue and all their staffs (and their salaries and income taxes) with them," saysPalihapitiya.

The measure would create a Billionaire Tax Health Account, which would receive 90 percent of the revenue generated by the tax. Funds from this account would go "to protect or enhance Medi-Cal," California's Medicaid program. (That same program was found by the Biden administration to have improperly claimed nearly $53 million in federal funding on behalf of noncitizens with ineligible immigration statuses from October 2018 through June 2019.) The remaining 10 percent would go to a new Billionaire Tax Education and Food Assistance Account, which would subsidize public K-12 education, plus two years of community college. This account would also help pay for "CalFresh, CalFAP, CalFood or California's Universal Meals Program for school meals."

The government should not be in the business of redistributing wealth, and a wealth tax is an especially ineffective means of generating revenue for any purpose. Moving costs might make it hard for other individuals and businesses headquartered in California to leave, but billionaires are highly mobile; they can easily become residents of another state by purchasing a house, acquiring a driver's license, and registering to vote there.”

The government should not be in the business of redistributing wealth indeed.

My sisters mental health issues seem to be getting worse and occurring with more frequency.

It seems it’s a constant struggle and she has full on breakdowns at least 3 or 4 times a year. Yesterday she went and told my mom she was demon possessed and would not be coming to see her anymore. Yet this morning she went to see her. Her husband got no sleep last night and trying to get a broken down mental health system to step up and take care of her and people like her is next to impossible. It seems since she almost succeeded in committing suicide things have gotten worse. Mom is becoming afraid of her and her husband won’t sleep when she does these things because of fear/lack of trust. Please pray for all concerned if it crosses your mind. :praying:

Grinning anti-ICE agitator arrested after allegedly punching Florida trooper as DeSantis warns: ‘This is not Minneapolis’

A grinning anti-ICE agitator was arrested after she allegedly punched a Florida state trooper during a confrontation with federal agents — drawing a blunt warning from Gov. Ron DeSantis that the Sunshine State “is not Minneapolis.”

Jennifer Cruz was arrested outside Mi Pueblo, a Mexican grocery store and meat market in Jacksonville, Tuesday morning after she allegedly jumped out of her car and punched a state trooper in the face while officers were working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said in a post on X.

“Jennifer disagrees with immigration enforcement and decided to commit a few felonies by getting out of her car and punching a trooper in the face,” Uthmeier wrote.

“But unlike Minnesota, we don’t put up with this nonsense. Not today, Jennifer.”

I don’t agree with ICE tactics but this is just stupid. People just need to chill out.

In Dan.12.11; Is it a sacrifice that’s taken away and an abomination set up for 1290 days? The Hebrew doesn’t actually mention a “sacrifice.”

# Daniel 8:11–13, 9:27, 11:31–36, 12:11 — My Translations & Integrated Grammatical-Theological Exposition

---
The Hebrew text in Daniel 8, 11, and 12 does not mention “sacrifice” or “ending.” The term הַתָּמִיד (tamid, “continual”) refers to ongoing activity, oppression, or exaltation, not a ritual sacrifice. Any insertion of “sacrifice” in translations is not present in the original Hebrew.

## Summary:
The term הַתָּמִיד (“the continual”) in Daniel 8, 11, and 12 is **not a reference to a daily sacrifice**. Instead, it denotes an **ongoing state of activity, oppression, or exaltation**. The passages collectively describe:

- The **exaltation of the little horn**, continually lifted up by agents of wickedness.
- The **persecution of the faithful (“stars”)** and the **host of Israel** being **given over** to the enemies as a divine allowance of ongoing evil.
- The **removal / casting away** of the faithful from their sacred spaces or sanctuary.
- The **corporate preservation of God’s holy ones**, culminating in purification and presentation before God.

The Hebrew syntax, word order, and lexical usage fully support this interpretation, providing a coherent theological and grammatical understanding without importing ritualistic assumptions.

---

## Contextual Illustration — Daniel 11:34–35 (KJV)

> 34 And unto the time appointed the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
> 35 And he shall give them into trouble, that they may be tried, and sanctified, and purified, and made white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

This passage provides **context for the continual activity** in Daniel 8, 11, and 12. The “king” who exalts himself **reflects the ongoing lifting up of the little horn**, while the faithful are **continually given over and taken away**, linking to the “stars” being persecuted or trampled. The **continual** here refers to **persistent activity, trial, and exaltation**, not daily sacrifice. The faithful are **handed over into the hands of their enemies**, demonstrating God’s allowance of ongoing wickedness while **ultimately preserving the holy ones**.

Daniel 7:25 and Daniel 12:11 use the same “giving over” verb, proving the tamid is not a sacrifice but the faithful being handed into oppression.

Daniel 7:25 (Aramaic) says of the holy ones:
“and they shall be given into his hand”
וְיִתְיַהֲבוּן בִּידֵהּ (we-yithyahavûn bîdēh)
Root: יהב (yehav) — to give, hand over, deliver into power

This is a passive verb: the holy ones are handed over to the little horn for a measured period of time (time, times, and half a time).

Daniel 12:11 (Hebrew) uses the same grammatical idea:
נִנָּתֵן (ninnāṯēn) — “is given over”
Root: נתן (natan) — to give, hand over, deliver

The verse does not say a sacrifice is removed. It says:
“from the time the tamid is given over to the abomination that causes desolation…”

In Daniel 12:11 specifically:
- **“They shall be taken away”** refers to the wicked departing.
- **“Continually being given over”** refers to the faithful who do not side with the beast, continually handed over to persecution and oppression because of the wicked’s actions and God’s allowance.
- The **wicked are the subject of departure**, the **faithful are the object of giving over**, highlighting persecution and divine testing rather than ritual sacrifice.

---

## Expanded Explanatory Integration — Day and Night, Sacrificial Offering, and Judgment

The continual giving over has a **sacrificial and juridical aspect**. Revelation 6:11 portrays the faithful **offered up under the altar**, crying, “How long, O Lord, until You judge and avenge our blood?” Similarly, Revelation 13 emphasizes **worship of the beast day and night**, paralleling the **persistent exaltation of evil** allowed by God. This aligns with Daniel’s “continual” (tamid), showing **unceasing oppression** and **spiritual testing**.

The faithful, continually given over (Daniel 11:31) and “taken away” (Daniel 12:11), **experience ongoing trial and persecution**, analogous to a sacrificial offering. This **corporate suffering** mirrors **Christ’s perfected body offered before God** (Colossians 1:24; 1 Corinthians 12), culminating in the **neutralization of the man of sin** (2 Thessalonians 2:8) and the ultimate presentation of the faithful **blameless and sanctified**.

## I. Daniel 8:11–13 — My Translation & Hebrew Alignment

**My Translation (8:11–13):**
> “As high as the chief of the host, he will be made great by the some, being lifted up continually, and the others he shall cast away from the holy space.
> The host were given over to him, because of the continual transgression, that he may cast down truth and prosper.
> How long will be the vision of the continual transgression of the desolation, the giving both of the sanctuary, and the hosts to be trampled on, and he said to me, 2300 evenings, and mornings; then shall be made righteous the holy.”

**Hebrew Word-for-Word Alignment:**

| Hebrew | Function / English Alignment |
|--------|------------------------------|
| וְעַד שַׂר־הַצָּבָא | “As high as the chief of the host” — idiomatic expression of rank |
| הִגְדִּיל | “he will be made great” — Hiphil verb, causative “exalt” |
| וּמִמֶּנּוּ הוּרָם | “by the some, being lifted up” — instrumental; “some” = agents exalting him |
| הַתָּמִיד | “continually” — denotes ongoing exaltation, oppression, or trial |
| וְהֻשְׁלַךְ | “and the others he shall cast away” — faithful removed from sacred space |
| מְכוֹן מִקְדָּשׁוֹ | “from the holy space” — location of persecution/defilement |
| וְצָבָא תִּנָּתֵן | “the host were given over” — passive causative; continual giving over to wickedness |
| עַל הַתָּמִיד | “because of the continual transgression” — links the oppression to ongoing national sin |
| וְיָשַׁגֶּה | “that he may cast down truth and prosper” — describes effect of his power |
| 2300 עֶרֶב וָבֹקֶר | “2300 evenings and mornings” — prophetic time marker |
| וְנִצְדְּקוּ | “then shall be made righteous” — culmination for holy ones |
| הַקֹּדֶשׁ | “the holy” — faithful remnant (stars), not sanctuary |

**Grammatical Proof:**
- **Hiphil verbs** indicate causative action linking subject, instrument, and object.
- **Tamid** modifies ongoing action; not ritualistic.
- Instrumental use (e.g., “by the some, being lifted up”) distinguishes agents from objects.
- Word order preserves **causal and temporal flow**, matching continual exaltation and persecution.

---

## II. Daniel 11:31 — My Translation & Hebrew

**My Translation (11:31):**
> “And forces for him shall serve, and shall profane the sanctuary fortress; then they shall be taken away, being continually given over to the abomination that causes desolation.”

**Hebrew Word-for-Word Alignment:**

| Hebrew | Function / English Alignment |
|--------|------------------------------|
| יַעַבְדוּ לוֹ | “forces for him shall serve” — instrumental causation |
| וְיְחַלְּלוּ מָצוּדָה | “and shall profane the sanctuary fortress” — sacred space / holy place |
| וְיִנָּתְנוּ | “shall be given over” — passive causative; continual oppression of faithful |
| וְהוּשְׁלַכוּ | “taken” — outcome of being given over; removed from sacred space |
| שִׁקּוּץ מְשֹׁמֵם | “to the abomination that causes desolation” — true object of cessation/judgment |

**Explanatory Note:**
- The faithful are **continually given over** to wickedness, then **taken away**—this mirrors the Daniel 8 pattern of trampled stars.
- The sanctuary/fortress is the **sacred space**, emphasizing spiritual and covenantal violation.
- The Hebrew distinguishes between **agents (forces, wicked)**, **instrument (given over)**, and **object (abomination of desolation)**.

---

## III. Daniel 12:11 — My Translation & Hebrew

**My Translation (12:11):**
> “And the wise shall understand from that time that they shall be taken away; continually being given over to the abomination, that causing the desolation, for one thousand two hundred and ninety days.”

**Hebrew Word-for-Word Alignment:**

| Hebrew | Function / English Alignment |
|--------|------------------------------|
| וְנִבְהֲלוּ הַחֲכָמִים | “the wise shall understand” — recognition of prophetic pattern |
| מֵעֵת הוּא | “from that time” — temporal marker |
| וְנִנָּתְנוּ | “shall be given over” — continual passive, oppression/persecution |
| לַשִּׁקּוּץ הַמְשֹׁמֵם | “to the abomination causing desolation” — object of the giving over |
| לְמֵאָה עֶשְׂרִים וְתִשְׁעַת יָמִים | “for 1,290 days” — prophetic duration |

**Explanatory Note:**
- Reflects **continual giving over** like 11:31 and Daniel 8.
- **“They shall be taken away”** — wicked depart.
- **“Continually given over”** — faithful handed over for persecution due to wickedness.
- This clarifies that the **subject (they) is the wicked**, the **object (them) is the faithful**, showing divine testing and persecution.
- The faithful **experience unrelenting trial**, emphasizing divine allowance of evil.
- “Taken away” corresponds to **removal from position, exposure to enemies, or captivity**, consistent with the Hebrew syntax of נִנָּתְנוּ.

---

## IV. Theological Integration — Daniel 9:27 & Sacrificial Offering

**My Translation (9:27):**
> “And He shall cause to prevail the covenant with the many, for week one and a half of the week, and He shall cause to cease—by the sacrificial offering—even upon wings—the abominations of desolation, until the consummation, and that which is determined is poured out in desolation.”

**Key Points:**
1. **Sacrificial Offering Instrumental:** Not the object of cessation; rather, the offering **enables the ending of abominations**.
2. **Continual Giving Over:** Aligns with 11:31 and 12:11; faithful are **continually subjected** while evil is lifted up.
3. **Man of Sin Neutralization:** The offering/presentation **culminates in 2 Thessalonians 2:8**, paralyzing the power of the man of sin.
4. **Wings / Preservation:** Faithful are **caught up, preserved, and offered** (Revelation 6:11; 7:9–15).
5. **Corporate Body of Christ:** Suffering is shared corporately (1 Cor 12; Col 1) and presented holy before God.
6. **927 Reference:** Aligns with Daniel 9:27 timeframe; the offering, covenantal endurance, and cessation of abominations are part of the same prophetic period.

---

## V. Conclusion — Grammar, Theology, and Exposition

- **Grammar & Syntax:** Hiphil verbs, instrumental usage, and word order consistently show **continual giving over**, **taking away**, and **abominations as objects**, not ritual sacrifice.
- **Theology:** God allows continual evil to test and refine the faithful, **offered as a sacrificial presentation**, while evil is exalted and then ultimately neutralized.
- **Expository Flow:** Daniel 8:11–13 → 9:27 → 11:31 → 12:11 → Revelation 6, 7, 13 → 2 Thess 2:8. **All threads converge**: continual exaltation of evil, continual giving over of the faithful, sacrificial offering of the body of Christ, preservation, and final judgment.
- **Practical Implication:** The faithful’s suffering, perseverance, and offering are **integral to the unfolding of God’s redemptive plan**, fully consistent with Hebrew grammar, prophetic word order, and theological coherence.

Death of man at ICE camp could be investigated as homicide after examiner’s report

Geraldo Lunas Campos, a 55-year-old Cuban migrant who was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in July last year, was pronounced dead on 3 January. He had been in ICE custody at Camp East Montana, a sprawling tent camp at the Fort Bliss military base in El Paso.

In a press release about his death, the agency claimed he died after “experiencing medical distress” and said his cause of death was under investigation.

Witnesses in detention with Lunas Campos told the Washington Post a different story. Santos Jesus Flores, who was detained at the camp where Lunas Campos died, said he saw five guards choking the man as he struggled after he resisted going into the segregation unit because he did not have his medications.

During the struggle, Jesus Flores said he heard Lunas Campos say again and again in Spanish that he couldn’t breathe.

“He said, ‘I cannot breathe, I cannot breathe.’ After that, we don’t hear his voice anymore and that’s it,” Flores told the Post.

in a recording reviewed and first reported on by the Washington Post, the El Paso county’s office of the medical examiner reportedly told a member of Lunas Campos’s family that the office was preparing to classify the death as a homicide, subject to results of a toxicology report. [and] reportedly found the preliminary cause was “asphyxia due to neck and chest compression”.

Lunas Campos was one of four ICE detainees who died while in custody in the first 10 days of the year and his death was part of a troubling trend; 2025 was the agency’s deadliest year in more than two decades.

Asphyxiating people one at a time at the camps will take forever.

The Fruit of The Spirit

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” (Galatians 5:22-24 NASB1995)

What is “fruit”? Yes, it is something that we eat, which is supposed to be healthy for our bodies, such things as apples, bananas, pineapple, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, and the like. But it also has to do with what we produce morally and spiritually, the outgrowth of something planted, the results. It has to do with reaping what we sow, i.e. that our actions have consequences or results, either good or bad, i.e. which is cause and effect.

Now we learned in the previous verses that if sin is what we practice, what we will reap is not eternal life with God, but eternal death and punishment. We will not spend eternity in heaven, but in hell, even if we profess with our lips that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. For it is not lip service only by which one is saved from their sins and they have the hope of eternal life with God, but it is via death to sin and obeying God that we have life eternal with God.

For that is the meaning of faith. For faith in Jesus is not produced in the flesh. The faith in Jesus required for salvation from sin comes from God, it is gifted to us by God, and it is persuaded of God as to his righteousness and holiness, and of our sinfulness, and of our need to die with Christ to sin and to be raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as servants of God in surrender of our lives to the Lord.

Therefore, when by faith in Jesus Christ we die daily to sin, and we walk (in conduct, with purpose) daily in obedience to our Lord’s commands, by his Spirit, the fruit that we bear is not idolatry, adultery, sexual immorality, lying, and cheating, and the like. But it is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. For those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Therefore, sin should no longer be what we practice. We should no longer be living in addiction to sin. But now the fruit of the Spirit should be what we are producing. And this is not saying that we will be absolutely perfect in every respect or that we will never sin again (1 John 2:1-2), but that we should have had a change of mind and heart, resulting in a change of behavior away from living in sin to now obeying our Lord’s commands.

So, if the Spirit of God is now living within us, guiding us into all truth, and leading us in the ways of righteousness and holiness, we should no longer be those who are living as addicts to sin. But now we should be living as slaves of righteousness, bearing the fruit of the Spirit in how we live our daily lives. But we need to interpret this “fruit” according to the teachings of God’s holy word, and not according to human flesh and what we think that means.

For love prefers what God prefers, which is all that is holy, morally pure, upright, honest, faithful, and obedient to our Lord’s commands. And peace is with God, not with other humans who are not at peace with God, i.e. we don’t make compromises with the world to be at peace with all of humans if it means we fall short of obeying our Lord and his commands. And kindness is never lying to people to make them feel good. Kindness speaks the truth.

Goodness and faithfulness definitely have to do with living morally pure, upright, and godly lives for the glory of God, in the power of God, and us not yielding to the desires of the flesh, in practice. And gentleness is not going soft on sin and tickling itching ears, but it is sensitive to how we say things, not harshly, but in love, speaking the truth in love, with kindness. And self-control is resisting fleshly desires and living to please God, in practice.

For, “those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”

Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.

Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.

Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.

Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.
Trust Him with your life today.

THE GREAT HEALTHCARE PLAN IS HERE! Or is it? No legislative text, no timeline, no repeal of Obamacare - Oz: "There’ll be ongoing conversations"

President Donald Trump on Thursday revealed a health care proposal he dubbed the “Great Healthcare Plan,” outlining a set of cost-cutting ideas but stopping short of offering a detailed replacement for the Affordable Care Act.

“I’m calling on Congress to pass this framework into law without delay, have to do it right now, so that we can get immediate relief to the American people,” Trump said in a video posted by the White House.

The administration released no legislative text nor timeline for related congressional action and did not indicate whether Republican leaders support the proposal, even as health care costs loom as a central issue in this year’s closely contested midterm elections. Asked how the proposal would advance in Congress, administration officials said it was a “broad architecture” intended to guide lawmakers on next steps.

Trump’s proposal includes a mix of initiatives that are already underway, such as Trump’s push to cut U.S. drug prices by linking them with the lower cost of drugs sold abroad, and some of his stalled ambitions, such as his desire to redirect billions of dollars in federal funding away from health insurers and toward average Americans. Trump also called to restore funding for the ACA’s cost-sharing reduction program, an insurance subsidy program that he ended in his first term, and to institute “maximum price transparency” by requiring hospitals and insurers to make more information available to consumers.

The proposal does not include new ideas to expand health coverage or simplify America’s often-byzantine health-care system. It also falls far short of Trump’s promises to deliver a replacement for the “hated” and “unaffordable” ACA

Steve Hilton vows to end 'obscenity' of men in women's sports if elected Calif. governor

A California gubernatorial candidate is vowing to end the “obscenity of biological boys in girls’ sports” as he encourages Republicans to remain optimistic about the party’s chances in the uphill quests to win major statewide races this year.

Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Church in Chino Hills, California, hosted a discussion with two Republican candidates seeking statewide office in California this year: gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton and attorney general candidate Michael Gates. The two candidates shared their views on the problems roiling California and what they would do if elected.

California hasn't had a Republican governor since Arnold Schwarzenegger left office after the 2010 election and hasn't had a Republican attorney general in decades.

Pimps

My family and I moved here to southern Alabama a few years ago. I think 3 years ago?

At first, we went and lived in a relatively nice and peaceful neighborhood here in the City of Mobile.

Well, unfortunately, we had a neighbor living directly across the street from us who I am almost 100% certain was a pimp of some kind. Ladies were constantly going in and out from his house and he had a pimped out car, everything.

I am sure there was some form of prostitution going on in his house.

As a Christian, I did not interact with him. I was always taught to stay away from the wrong crowd and according to the Bible, prostitution is not allowed and I think its gross anyway. We are supposed to keep ourselves sexually pure until we get married.

Down here in South Alabama we have a culture of gangsters and pimps, unfortunately, so it seems. Can't seem to get totally away from them, even if I want to. And I do. A church lady like me feels out of place among these criminals.

Mind control from space

Grok is now the Pentagon’s AI. Grok is owned by Musk who is now pals with Trump again. Musk also has his Starlink service through SpaceX and a Neuralink company looking at the human machine interface. At present chip- chemical interfaces are in the early stages and their most obvious advantage is a medical one. However in the future this technology could have military uses. Mobile data already accounts for 60% of internet traffic, there are a growing number of sensors collecting data from your mobiles. AI uses ten times the energy that old style search methods used but it is also far more effective in profiling users. At the moment in the West the Main motive for that is more effective marketing. In China and Russia the same tech is already being used for control. If they did perfect the chip- human interface then a ubiquitous network like Starlink could theoretically plant nudged suggestions in your mind by remote control.

What can we do to prevent such remote control in the future? Will competition between AI firms help, will human centric legislation like the EU AI Act be crucial? How effective could localised , custom AI be in defending agency from the hidden mechanisms of collection and control?

Walk By The Spirit

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Galatians 5:16-21 NASB1995)

What does it mean to “walk by the Spirit”? It means to live our lives, day in and day out, according to God’s holy word, under the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit, as empowered by the Spirit of God in holy living. For God’s grace, which is bringing us salvation, is training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives while we wait for Jesus’ return. This means that we live for God to do his will, and we no longer live to please our sinful flesh, for we love God.

For, although the people of God were no longer bound by the Old Covenant liturgical, ceremonial, sacrificial, purification, circumcision, dietary, and Sabbath laws, they were not free to live however they wanted to live. They were not free from having to obey God, and they were not free to sin as much as they wanted. For God’s grace was not free license to sin, but God’s grace was what sent Jesus Christ to the cross to put our sins to death with him so we will now live in freedom from slavery to sin, by God’s grace.

For the desires of the flesh are in opposition to the desires of the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are in opposition to the desires of the flesh. And this is so that we do not do the things that our sin nature would have us do, but so that we will do the will of God, instead. For the sin nature leads us away from God to doing what our fleshly appetites crave, whereby our new nature in Christ Jesus, of the Spirit, leads us to do what is of God, i.e. what is morally pure, upright, honest, faithful, and obedient to God’s commands.

And then this gives us a partial list of the works of the flesh which are contrary to the Spirit and to faith in Jesus Christ. And they include sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, and orgies. And other lists include adultery, homosexuality, murder, deceit, maliciousness, gossip, slander, inventors of evil, faithlessness, haters of God, disobedience, thievery, greed, swindlers, corrupt talk, bitterness, and unforgiveness, etc.

[Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:16-21; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Colossians 3:5-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8]

We, as followers of Jesus Christ, are no longer to live as slaves to sin, making sin our practice. For what does it say here? “I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” And we need to take that seriously, for that is what Jesus taught and what his New Testament apostles taught. But it is not what is commonly being taught today. For so many today are coddling people in their sins, and they are making excuses for them to continue living in their sins.

But Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

For by God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ, which is not of our own doing, we are crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to righteousness in walks of obedience to God’s commands. We are no longer to permit sin to reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires. For if sin is what we obey, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God (see Romans 6:1-23).

[Matthew 7:13-14,21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Romans 1:18-32; Romans 2:5-10; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; Romans 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10,19-20; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; 2 Corinthians 5:10,15,21; Galatians 5:16-24; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Hebrews 10:19-39; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:1-10; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10; Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22]

As the Deer

By Martin J. Nystrom
Based off Psalm 42:1

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after You
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

Prayer request for my dad

My dad had an MRI or CT scan a month or two ago and finally had an appointment today to sit down with his neurologist. He's been diagnosed with Alzheimers, he's 78 so it's not like it's shocking but he's still stunned and my mom is very scared. I'm not supposed to know yet cause my folks were going to tell the family after my dad chooses which kind of treatment he's going to take on.

For me all I can think about now is the urgency for my dad to convert. I think he's wanted to be Catholic for a while cause he has a lot of fond memories attached to all the Catholic families he grew up with in his community. He sees it as more regal and dignified than that pentecostalism he was raised in. The thing that concerns me is, it seems obvious that he acknowledges the Catholic Church is the true Church, but he's not converting cause he doesn't want to come in without my mom and my mom balks at every turn.

If you could pray for his and my moms conversions, I'm going to approach him about it soon and frame it as being in the faith is the best possible way to walk through this late chapter in life that brings this big change. Hopefully he'll just go for it and then my mom will follow his example.
