I’m not confused - Paul said we will all be judged for everything that we have done, both good and bad. What’s so hard to understand about that?

Have you done enough good works to be saved?

All I can say is that I hope that I will have demonstrated my faith in my life in a way that Messiah will tell me “well done”. Just like Paul, my goal is to please him, due to us standing before him to receive judgement for the good and bad.

We can’t just live any kind of way and expect to get into the kingdom.

    How is that measured?

Did you do enough? (who knows?)
Could you have done more? (oh course)
    Was it enough? (who knows?)

That’s why Messiah is the judge. He knows who has lived a life worthy of the kingdom and who hasn’t.

That's the problem with your theory. None of us is worthy.

What will happen to you if you don't measure up?

Is that a rhetorical question? If you don’t live a worthy life, you aren’t getting into the Kingdom. Obviously there are people getting into the kingdom, so that means there are people who have lived and are living worthy lives.

Is that a bunch of meaningless doubletalk?

Why did Jesus lay down his life for us if we are worthy of the kingdom?
Did he just die for some of us? The ones who weren't worthy. Why will those unworthy ones for whom Jesus paid the ultimate price not be in the kingdom?

Do you think we can live any way we want and make it into the kingdom?

Not for you, but for those who don't have a NT ...

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."
    (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

This is talking about habitual (unrepentant) sinners.

Parallel verses about NOT getting into the kingdom: Galatians 5:19-21 and Ephesians 5:3-6.

Do you think a backslider loses their salvation?
    How are such things measured?

The saved are converted. The converted don't "live any way they want".

Bottom line: There isn't anything we can do, in and of ourselves, to either gain entrance, or be prohibited from, the kingdom of heaven. We can only receive what has been provided for us.

Here's some verses that remind us that we adopted into the family of God as sons. Adoption Verses

When you're adopted as a son, do you have to "prove" you love your dad in order to remain his son?

Also: for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED." Romans 10:13. Notice it doesn't say, "Whoever can prove he loves the Lord enough will be saved".

Why did Jesus tell the thief on the cross that he would be with him in that day in paradise? Did the thief live his life is such a way that he earned entrance into the kingdom?

    Luke 23:39-43
One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? "Save Yourself and us!” But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!” And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”

    @Saint Steven and @Dkh587

The problem with the sin issue is "only God" basically...

"Only God" knows whether you should be held accountable and judged for this or that sin, ect, or whether you will be, ect, for this or that, ect... Being the perfect judge He will take into account "all factors" of an individual life/case when He is judging, something were not capable of doing... And should not be doing IMO...

You may be held accountable for some things, some sin in your life, besides just believing alone... But, can we say, no we cannot, only God can, and that's the problem...

So, be aware that you "might" be held accountable for some sin or sins in your life, though, if your a believer I do not think "all of them", and it may depend greatly on, or very much upon your "attitude" when being judged, IDK...?

But only God and only God can know those or these things, and we need to be aware that we might be held accountable for some things, some sins, but if we are it is only God who would know it exactly and perfectly, for none of us can (do it that way)...

I do not believe everyone will be judged due to what "we might think is" "judged the same" (when it is actually not), but everyone will be judged the same, or that is, "fairly", by God, and by "fairly" I mean by His taking into account all factors of every individual life, which would appear to us that we are being judged differently, when actually, we are not be judged differently, but the same and fairly...

Anyway, judgement is not simple at all, and is best left up to God, for it is not our place to judge when we don't have to... Don't be so quick to deal out death and judgement, for if and when you do, you put your own soul in jeopardy... Leave it to God, and just tell the truth is saying you do not know and cannot say for sure if someone will be judged by God for this or that sin or the other, you can tell them they might be, but you just cannot say...

    God Bless!

Not everyone is made or created the same from birth, for one, then they have very much more different and differing lives, all of them (us), after that, and each one has very much different and varying strengths, weaknesses, and abilities, and in-capabilities, ect, and all in different areas, and only God knows them or all of this perfectly, even way better than we do, even about our own selves even... Let alone anyone else...

Which would make only Him the perfect judge, wouldn't it... All, or most of our judgments are in error, or way off from exercising any kind of real or truly just or accurate judgement, but not so with God...

And in fact, if you are aware of any of this that we've been discussing, or that I've been discussing, then you think twice about judging every time, or a lot of the time...

Only Judging where you feel you have to, or are forced to, and leave the other judgments or judging to God, and just Love them... For that is our charge and duty, to love and not to judge, when and where we don't have to... And, most of the time, you just do not have to... Way to many are way to quick to it (judging)...

    God Bless!

We can tell them sin is never good, ever... But we cannot tell them, if they are a believer and are keeping or are going to keep the faith, we cannot tell them how much bearing it will have on their eternity, only that it could or might, but that we don't know for sure, and then maybe ask them why would they want to risk it, ect, kind of thing...

The point is that we should all be doing our best or the best we can with our sin issues/struggles and/or problems, ect... If anything because of all we "don't know" and that were sure God, does, ect...

    God Bless!

Of the seven churches in Revelation, Jesus would say "I have, or hold, "this or that" against you", ect... It was not "all of their sins" but a "specific thing" the Lord "had or held against them", or took issue with, with them, specifically; but a "certain thing"...

If you get to the judgment, and if your a believer, I do not think the Lord is going to hold "all sin", or even "all of your sin" against you... but, He might take issue with some or another "certain thing", something He feels you are or were responsible for, or could have, and should have, "fixed" or corrected, (that you were able and capable of it) I guess you could say... and, if that happens, your response in that moment is going to all of the sudden become of the most paramount importance right then wouldn't you agree...?

We should be doing our best to make sure their will be nothing God or the Lord would be or might be holding against us though... Or finding out if there is anything He is or might be holding against you, and be fixing it, or working on it now if we can...

    God Bless!

Those are all the results. None of them are prerequisites.

    Acts 16:31
And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

    Romans 10:17
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

    Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

    Romans 10:9
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
