There is nothing to prove, since all people are sinners.
Right. If we could be saved by our own efforts, Christ did not need to pay the price for us.

There is nothing to prove, since all people are sinners.
There are sinners who are not forgiven,
and there are forgiven sinners.

The latter are BACs who keep a righteous standing
before the Lord through practicing righteousness
and through sincere repentance of present sins.

I'm only talking to and about BACs.
Does "BACs" stand for Born Again Christians?

How can you lose something you never had in the first place? (salvation)
If salvation is not a personal possession, you never had it in the first place.
If it is a possession, no one can take it away.

Yes.
I'm not talking about anyone who was never saved.
Also, you can lose anything that you once had.
Also, God can take away anything you once had.
E.G. You can fall from grace (Galatians 4).

One "goes back" through sincere repentance!
The Lord God knows that we all sin ...
so He has made a way for us to "go back".
Simple.

Yes. But God had already made that provision. Before any of us came to Christ. How does one even come to the point of understanding they need Jesus, therefore repentance, if you need to love and obey him before you can even be saved?

That's a terrible thing to say about our loving heavenly Father.

If there was nothing I could do to earn it, then there's nothing I can do to lose it.
If salvation is based on ANYTHING we do, how do you measure it?
Did you do enough? (who knows?) Could you have done more? (of course)
Was it enough? (who knows?)

One cannot truly love the Lord UNLESS they are saved. Sure the words can flow from the lips like all other words, but God knows His own. Man is easily deceived even self-deceived. Personally I am put off by people who boast about loving the Lord with their lips, because so many have proven their hearts are far from Him, and knowing how I too struggle greatly all too often to love the Lord always. I am so guilty of getting caught up in the day to day struggles, in the temporary things which ultimately do not matter. So I can only characterize my love for the Lord as inconsistent, and like the wind which comes and goes. Without Him I can do nothing, including love Him. In myself it will be nothing but self-righteous imperfections though many may be convinced.

Stop beating yourself up. That's the devil's job.
Hmm.. maybe that's what's happening here. ???

I don't believe anyone would be in a position to be saved unless they had that love.
In a position to be saved?
Only the lost are in a position to be saved.
There are only two options. (lost/saved)

This topic is a thinly veiled attempt at salvation by works.
Claiming you must "PROVE you LOVE the LORD to be saved!"

How can such things be measured?
- Did you love the Lord enough? (who could say?)
- Did you prove your love? (who could say?)
- Could you have done more? (of course)
- Did you do enough? (who could say?)

This is no basis for eternal security.
Best to rest in the fact that Jesus has done for us what we could NEVER do for ourselves.
That is measurable. It's done.

If you didn't love the Lord the word saved would not even be in your vocabulary not to mention the action of. No one not one is saved or born again without a love for God. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE

Matthew 22:37-38
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment.”

We actually must PROVE our LOVE for the LORD …

1 John 2:5, NLT
Those who obey God’s word truly show
how completely they love Him. That is how
we know we are living in Him.”

BACs who have “no condemnation” are “in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).

1 John 5:3, NLT
Loving God means keeping His commandments,
and His commandments are not burdensome.”

John 14:15-24
If you love Me, obey My commandments
… He who has My commandments and obeys them, it is he who loves Me
… If anyone loves Me, he will obey My word
… He who does NOT love Me
does NOT obey My words”

Does anyone get to heaven who does NOT love Jesus?
Those who love Jesus will obey His commandments!

IF you PROVE that you LOVE Jesus, then you have
met one of the qualifications for salvation …

Romans 8:28-30
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”

Another way to PROVE your LOVE for the LORD …

James 1:12-15
“Blessed is the man who endures temptation;
for when he has been approved, he will receive
the crown of life which the Lord has promised to
those who love Him … But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived,
it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.”

Love Jesus >>> endure temptation >>>
do not sin >>> crown of (eternal) life

John 15:9-14
“… abide in My love.
If you obey My commandments,
you will abide in My love
… You are My friends,
if you do whatever I command you.”

Those who are Jesus’ friends will obey His commandments!
Does anyone get to heaven who is NOT Jesus’ friend?

John 15:6
“If anyone does NOT abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.”

If a person does research on "Faith" they likely will have a different conclusion.
A legalist can still be saved.

Sorry, I disagree.

We need the love of God. But God does not need/require our love of Him.
He wants us to love one another. That is how His love in us should be expressed.

There is nothing wrong with loving God. We should. But it's not a requirement.
Good thing too. We prove we don't love him every day. Where does that leave you?

1 John 4:8-12
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Being saved proves your love for God and your faith in him. You should never feel you need to prove your love for God to anyone but God. I see no need for this topic. Carry on.
The truth is that we don't love God. We prove it every day.
If loving God is the basis for your salvation... you are lost.

Agreed, this is how I view it as well. I have even asked on multiple occasions for him to clarify his position, so I would not be left to assume. I am begging to believe this is his stated purpose.

This topic is a thinly veiled attempt at salvation by works.
This topic is NOT a thinly veiled attempt to guarantee
that salvation is a process ... it is a co-operative effort
between God and man!

The NT is full of dire warnings that BACs can:
-- still be slaves to sin and go to hell
-- be estranged from Christ
-- fall from grace
-- draw back to perdition
-- be erased from the Book of Life
-- be shut out of the kingdom of heaven
-- be shut out of the New Jerusalem
etc. etc.

BACs are responsible for reading and understanding the NT ... instead of believing in false doctrines!
