JimfromOhio said:No doctors should work on Sabbath day, huh? A Doctor is a lifestyle. Luke 14:2-4 "There in front of him was a man suffering from dropsy. 3Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in the law, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?" But they remained silent. So taking hold of the man, he healed him and sent him away.
Keep working at Sabbath works and find better solutions how people who heals on Sabbath won't have their own sabbath.

JimfromOhio said:They work .. do they? Do they rest, do they have their "Sabbath Day" on the 7th day if they work on Saturdays?

I found this scripture about rest and it has put me in a place of calm and rest. When mediatating on this scripture it is not only a moment of rest....but a very holy moment.
I do know many who break the commandments ......and not just the sabbath one. I know many who keep the sabbath and go around hurting others with gossip...telling lies.
Mt 22:37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.Mt 22:38This is the first and great commandment.Mt 22:39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.Mt 22:40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Mt 11:29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am MEEK and lowly in heart: and ye shall find REST unto your souls.

For example I don't open my office on the Sabbath I do take call and take care of any emergencies that come up. I see patients who are in the hospital over the sabbath. I don't do any elective surgeries on the sabbath and there is time for church most of the time.
JimfromOhio said:Ahh... I know some medical workers that make sure they don't work on their 7th "Sabbath" day unless someone needed medical attention for whatever reasons. This goes with Police Officers and Firefighters when their schedules are rotated weekly.
We do follow the Sabbath.... its just that we don't do it on "Saturday". We do it every 7th day. We are commanded to "Rest" and "Reflect" God. Hebrews 4:9-10 "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his."
Gal 5:14-26
14 The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." 15 If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. 17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. Jude 5
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

ThreeAM said:God has set only one day of the weekly cycle aside as HOLY he set it aside and SANCTIFIED it as HOLY. He did not make days 1-6 HOLY. When he provided manna for ALL of Israel he gave twice as much on the 6th day of the week and None on the 7th day to prevent gathering manna on the Sabbath. In the 10 Commandments God asks us to: "Remember the sabbath day, TO KEEP IT HOLY" we cannot keep something Holy that God has never made HOLY...like days 1-6 of the week. Now is God supposed be reverenced every day of the week? Of course He is. But only the 7th day of the week is the HOLY Sabbath.
JimfromOhio said:Aren't Christians supposed to be sancified daily? Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual[a] act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Exo 20:1 And God spake all these words, saying,..... Exd 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Exd 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates: Exd 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Great post!!!!!The Spirit of Christ writes His laws in our hearts and the One Main one being LOVE. Without LOVE, the 10 Commandments are all broken, period.Galatians 6:10-14 All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law."Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will live by faith." The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, "The man who does these things will live by them." Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. John 1:17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. Romans 5:20-21 The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Galatians 4:7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. Ephesians 3:6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
NLT Gal 3:28 There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male or female. For you are all Christians--you are one in Christ Jesus.
NLT Gal 3:29 And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. [True Israel] You are his heirs, and now all the promises God gave to him belong to you.

I will also choose and serve God as Jesus said in Matthew 22:37-40
