  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why worry about global warming?

I'm interested as to why it lays the blame on Adam, and solely on Adam.
"It" lays the blame on Adam because he is the federal head of the human race, and he partook willingly; whereas Eve was tricked.

To help understand this, who gets fired if a football team loses an important game?

Tricked by whom, and how, exactly?
To help understand this, who gets fired if a football team loses an important game?
Surely that would depend upon why they lost an important game.

Mzungu, let me appeal to dispensation theology to answer your point here.

Luke 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Galatians 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Back in Exodus 19, the Israelites were under the [4th] dispensation of Promise; but at the foot of Mount Sinai, the dispensation of Promise ended, and the [5th] dispensation of Law started.

This dispensation ran from the giving of the 10 Commandments to the renting of the Temple veil from top to bottom at Jesus' crucifixion.

Mark 15:38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

We now live in the [6th] dispensation of Grace (also known as the Church Age), which will end at Armageddon.

I hope this helps.
Sorry but Jesus was quite clear on this and he specifically told us to adhere to the letter all the OT till Heaven and Earth pass away! This means that until the end times no one (not even you AV ;)) have the right to relax nor change nor interpret as you see fit the laws (OT).

Why is it that you and other creationists have such a hard time understanding the Bible? After all Kent Hovind (your hero) clearly said many times that God wrote the Bible to be clear to everyone and everyone can understand it.

The problem with creationists is that they take the Bible literally and when it conflicts with reality they find all manner of interpretations to suit their creationism.

This is purely due to creationists "FAILING" to read the Bible spiritually, and insist on reading it like a science textbook.

Sorry fellas but the Bible is a spiritual Guide based on faith and it is not to be read literally as it is NOT A SCIENCE TEXT BOOK that you so much want it to be.

So many Christians here have told you lot the same thing yet you insist on literal translations.

Now since God himself commands you to kill disobedient children then by refusing to do so you (Bible literalists) are in direct contradiction to Gods wishes.

I insist on the disobedient children as this law is one that puts Bible literalists on a tight spot.

Also Jesus told us not to interpret the scriptures as we see fit. This is something that arises only with Bible literalists and not the rest of Christianity!

YOUR CALL!

Nope.

Galatians 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
This means that until the end times no one (not even you AV ;)) have the right to relax nor change nor interpret as you see fit the laws (OT).
Again, the Law was in effect until the time of John the Baptist, who was the last of the OT prophets.

Should we be sacrificing lambs right now? And where's our Temple?

Where's our meat offerings, peace offerings, and trespass offerings; done on a daily basis?

Where's our Levitical priesthood?

Or are we under a different [Melchisedecan] priesthood, with a new High Priest?
Why is it that you and other creationists have such a hard time understanding the Bible?
Pot, meet kettle?
After all Kent Hovind (your hero) clearly said many times that God wrote the Bible to be clear to everyone and everyone can understand it.
So what's your problem?
The problem with creationists is that they take the Bible literally and when it conflicts with reality they find all manner of interpretations to suit their creationism.
I think you'll find we follow a rigid set of rules.
This is purely due to creationists "FAILING" to read the Bible spiritually, and insist on reading it like a science textbook.
Not this creationist.

I'm fond of saying that, using the Bible as a science book is like using Bill Gate's diary as a computer manual.
Sorry fellas but the Bible is a spiritual Guide based on faith and it is not to be read literally as it is NOT A SCIENCE TEXT BOOK that you so much want it to be.
1. It doesn't have to be a SCIENCE TEXT BOOK to be interpreted literally.
2. I'm almost vociferous in pointing out the Bible is not a science text Book.
So many Christians here have told you lot the same thing yet you insist on literal translations.
And we don't plan to stop, either.
Now since God himself commands you to kill disobedient children then by refusing to do so you (Bible literalists) are in direct contradiction to Gods wishes.
See, this is what happens when you think like you do. If you get your way, people will start dying.

Should we be out hunting witches, right now?

I have a feeling that, thanks to people who think like you, we will soon be celebrating the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
I insist on the disobedient children as this law is one that puts Bible literalists on a tight spot.
So, when the Mzungus of John 8 interrupted Jesus' teaching in the Temple with this...

John 8:4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
John 8:5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

... how should Jesus have replied?
Also Jesus told us not to interpret the scriptures as we see fit.
Good -- tell the allegorists that.
This is something that arises only with Bible literalists and not the rest of Christianity!
Funny how Bible literalists aren't rushing out to "fuel their planes", isn't it?

Perhaps they know something you don't?

You do not need a temple. But the Sanhedrin believe they need the temple mount. They need permission to begin the sacrifices again. If they tried the police would remove them. thesanhedrin.org

They are ready any time to begin the sacrifices. Some people believe that would be the beginning of the tribulation period. When the age of grace comes to an end and we are under the law for a 7 year period of time.

The Bible talks about Science:

Romans 1:20-32
New King James Version (NKJV)
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

Come on AV, I thought that would have been an easy one.
As I told someone else, you know what easy questions lead to.

They are the doors to the scinquisition around here.

Yes -- the Bible certainly contains science, but It is not a science textbook, pr se.

Evidently mzungu and Master Po do, so they can be placated.

I'm glad God doesn't placate us though.
They do not need the temple for sacrifices. David used a tent. The temple will be rebuilt by the mid trib, because of the prophecy of the antichrist. They will have the parts and pieces all ready to go so that it will not take them long to rebuild the temple.

"And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready at the quarry; and there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building." 1 kings 6 7

Fine -- scrub the Temple then, but mzungu wants us out hunting witches before we even have the sacerdotal system in place.

We've got a LOT of work to do, to get these ... um ... paleoliteralists placated.

I'm sure the suffering you've had at the hands of those who don't share your views are worthy of comparison to the events of a similar name.

We've got a LOT of work to do,
I do not plan to be here for the tribulation. My work will be done and there would be no reason for me to be here. This is a time of God's wrath and we have not been appointed to God's wrath. That is for the world, first the world was cleansed by water, now the world will be cleansed by fire.

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Thess 5:9

But you're here now. So why wouldn't you do what a true christian should do, and that's looking after the planet?
We "looked after the planet" during the Red scare.

We "looked after the planet" during the resources depletion scare.

We "looked after the planet" during the overpopulation scare.

We "looked after the planet" during various syzygies.

We "looked after the planet" during the Y2K scare.

We "looked after the planet" during the DDT scare.

We "looked after the planet" during the radon gas scare.

We "looked after the planet" during the asbestos scare.

We "looked after the planet" during the lead paint scare.

Now you want us to beware of global warming.

Now you want us to beware of a little ice age.

Now you want us to beware of asteroids in the area.

Anything I missed?

Why do you always insist on only having the most superficial understanding of the issues at hand?
