At most there has been a recent pause in the increase in temperatures, but it isn't going to last.

You say this because you have faith in AGW ,I do not share this faith and will remain a skeptic.
It's not faith. It's evidence-based reasoning. The climate is warming due to CO2, and will continue to do so. The pause you see in the HadCRUT data isn't seen in other global temperature estimates, but even the HadCRUT measurement is within the expected range of variation.

When you take out the El Ninos it looks like a very steep downward trend.

Bahahaha, you do realize the vertical axis is inverted, right? "Downward" on that plot is higher temperature!

Way to lie, Greatcloud.

I think science has a scare tactic for every generation.

The Red Scare, then overcrowding & depletion of planetary resources, then radon gas in the basement, asbestos in the attic and lead paint in between, now global warming.

Throw in a few Hale Bopps, a couple El Niños, some earth yanking syzygies, and an LIA for good measure, and who gives a Y2K?

I'm not sure if global warming exists or not, but Al Gore seems to think it does. He's probably right though, cause it would fit in with the bible. The rapture is coming. We shouldn't worry tho because Jesus is going to take all the believers to heaven. Why can't science understand this? It don't matter if the planet dies because there will be noone left on it!

And if that doesn't happen for say another 100,000 years, what then?

I hate global warming..God please help us
You can hate it all you like, it won't make it go away. The only way to make it go away is concerted, worldwide political action. And sadly, there are too many monied interests fighting against any such action.

Suffice to say Greatcloud, I created that graph to make fun of you. It's crude, rude, and insulting, but my graph was specifically designed to mock you. I took GISS temperature data and presented that with an inverted y-axis (the chart is upside down). With an inverted y-axis, higher temperatures cause an apparent downward trend in the graph. I figured a few posters would get a laugh out of my obviously deceptive graph, but I didn't expect this...

You took a graph that I designed to be so obviously deceptive and misleading that it would be recognized by everybody as a joke, and you used it as a serious argument. I'm utterly astonished. Do you even realize what you're arguing here? Greatcloud, at the very best, can you at least admit that you're way out of your league? You don't have a clue what you're talking about.

We don't need a graph to be made fun of.

Evolution has been making monkeys out of [us] for decades.

I predict that AV will do that long before Greatcloud will... with dad and Mark Kennedy doing so in the intervening time. :D

This thread is EXACTLY why i believe NO RELIGIOUS PERSON who shares this view should have any authoratative position of power or have the right to vote in any matter that involves others who don't subscribe to raptural nonsense, including environmental issues.

You complacent believers of the rapture should be ashamed of your lack of regard for the planet or others who aren't like minded. I'm positive that if Jesus was around today, you callous "saved" christians would NOT be on any "saved" list since you don't seem to grasp what was said about your savior in the bible...

Disgusting...

The fact that Christians will be caught up is what Christians always knew to be a fact of life.

No atheist will have any place or say in the eternal government of God, that is certain.

As for any country in which you think your will and opinion should be the only force of law, I would hope that you don't expect Christians to live there. I would wonder if they might be better off to gravitate to less diseased areas, and leave you in some state to reap what you need with like minded chaff.
