No there's no need to show a legal day of worship.

Why not? It is God's 4th Commandment which is one of the 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is *EXODUS 20:8-11; ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4. If we KNOWINGLY break anyone of God's 10 commandments then we stand guilty before God of sin *JAMES 2:10-11. All those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT sin will not enter into God's KINGDOM because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23; HEBREWS 10:26-27. In times of ignorance God winks at but when he brings us a KNOWLEDGE of the truth calls us to repent and believe his Word *ACTS 17:30-31.

This is only required by people who think they keep the 7th day sabbath as the famous 10 require of Israel.

God's ISRAEL in the NEW COVENANT are all those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD. If you are not a part of God's ISRAEL you have no part in the NEW COVENANT *HEBREWS 8:10-12. Gentiles are now grafted in *ROMANS 11:13-27. JESUS says God's SABBATH was made for all mankind not the only the JEWS and commands us to keep the SEVENTH DAY as a HOLY DAY *MARK 2:27-28; EXODUS 20:8-11. If we KNOWINGLY break anyone of God's 10 commandments than we stand guilty before God of sin *JAMES 2:10-11.

Yes Rev 1:10. I realize you don't accept this. There are at least two Bible passages indicating worship on Sunday.

There is no scripture in God's WORD that says that SUNDAY is the LORD'S DAY. God's WORD says that the LORD'S DAY is the SABBATH DAY *MATTHEW 12:8. There is not one scripture that says God's 4th Commandment is now abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a HOLY day. God's people after the resurrection met together EVERYDAY of the week *ACTS 2:46-47 and also kept God's SEVENTH DAY SABBATH according to God's 4th commandment *ACTS 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; REVELATION 1:10; EXODUS 20:8-11.

There are plenty historical records showing Christians worshiped on Sunday from as early as approximately 50 AD.

The source and dating of historical records are important to take into consideration as this can lead to religious bias untruth. The only source of truth is God's WORD. Anything outside of God's WORD that contradicts the scriptures is not from God. You have no source that verifies 50 AD as an accurate date.

As to the didache scholars cannot agree when the didache was written and argue anywhere from 50 to 400 AD. The didache was lost for centuries, a Greek manuscript of the didache was rediscovered in 1873 by Philotheos Bryennios, Metropolitan of Nicomedia, in the Codex Hierosolymitanus. A Latin version of the first five chapters was discovered in 1900 by J. Schlecht. The scholars cannot even agree on it's origin. One thing we do know for sure and that is the didache being held in high regard by the Roman Catholic Church. It is not God's WORD and anything outside of God's WORD that contradicts scripture is not from God.

If you want to look at reliable history from God's WORD, God's people have always kept God's 4th Commandment Sabbath unbroken from GENESIS to JESUS and the APOSTLES to after the death of JESUS all through time to this present day. That is the only reliable history that we can trust.

Hope this helps

There's absolutely no record calling the sabbath the Lord's Day.

Hmm? Which day is the LORD'S DAY according to God's WORD?
MATTHEW 12:8 [8], For THE SON OF MAN IS LORD EVEN OF THE SABBATH DAY.
Now where is your scripture to show that SUNDAY is the LORD'S DAY? Sorry brother God's WORD disagrees with you.

There's no obligation of the Christian to the law (famous 10) as a rule of life or faith.

Depends if you believe God's WORD or not. The role of God's 10 commandments is to give us the knowledge of what sin is if broken *EXODUS 20:8-11; ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4.

We have a New Covenant.
Indeed, God's LAW is to be written on the heart by faith to LOVE and in all those who are Born again to LOVE that fulfills God's LAW in all those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD *HEBREWS 8:10-12; ROMANS 13:8-10; ROMANS 3:31; 1 JOHN 3:3-10. Those who continue in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN do not know God *1 JOHN 2:3-4.

The same goes for the 7th day sabbath. Not one of your references say anything about Lord's Day.

MATTHEW 12:8 [8], For THE SON OF MAN IS LORD EVEN OF THE SABBATH DAY.
Now where is your scripture to show that SUNDAY is the LORD'S DAY? Sorry brother God's WORD disagrees with you.

Yes there is. Jeremiah 3131-33 in that the passage says specifically there will be a New Covenant not like the one given to their fathers after coming out of Egypt. This covenant was written in stone exclusively for Israel Deut 4:13 and 5:1-3. There's also Hosea 2:11 which says the sabbath will cease.

You seem confused. Your mixing up the SHADOW laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7 with God's eternal law (10 Commandments) that give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL, SIN AND RIGHTEOUSNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSALMS 119:172. The NEW COVENANT is not like the OLD one. No more SHADOW laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7. No more animal sacrifices and sin offerings, no more earthly Sanctuary and priesthood that pointed to the HEAVENLY. No more annual feastivals that are now fulfilled in Christ. God's law written on the heart to LOVE in all those who are born again to believe and follow God's WORD by faith.
If you do not know what the OLD COVENANT is how can you understand what the NEW COVENANT is that the OLD COVENANT pointed to?

Hope this helps

This is incorrect as Scripture shows. (1 Cor 16).

How does 1 Corinthians 16 prove that biblical history from GENESIS to REVELATION shows that God's people have always kept God's 4th commandment SEVENTH DAY SABBATH unbroken from ADAM and EVE through to JESUS and all the APOSTLES to after the death and ressurection of JESUS. Through to the early Church all through time to this very present day?

This doesn't correlate to your question.

Of course it does as shown in the video it was referring to.

No more than the sabbath you keep being in compliance with Scripture. Thus you're only keeping the traditions of man established by your prophet EGW. So you create problems for yourself.

Now brother are you trying to say God's WORD is not true? You have been only provided God's WORD and are arguing for the traditions of men over the scriptures. You are free to believe and do as you wish your argument is between you and God as they are God's WORD not mine.

You clearly don't keep the sabbath as outlined in Exodus 20:8-11. So how are you following God's Word?

I suggest you read ROMANS 2:1-6. We all answer only to God come judgment day *JOHN 12:47-48

This has nothing to do with the subject of the thread because the Christian isn't obligated to keep the law (famous 10).

Actually it has everything to do with the famous 10. God's 10 commandments give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken *EXODUS 20:8-11; ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4. God's 4th commandment is one of the 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken.

Hope this helps

It's only an obligation of Israel.
You seem confused here brother. Need more scripture click me?

1. ORIGIN OF ISRAEL AND THE 12 TRIBES linked
2. MEANING OF THE NAME OF GOD'S ISRAEL linked
3. GOD'S ISRAEL IN THE NEW COVENANT IS GOD'S CHURCH linked
4. GENTILES ARE NOW GRAFTED IN WITH GOD'S ISRAEL linked

Essentially you're only spreading fear about loss of salvation.

PSALMS 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endures for ever.

REVELATION 14:7 Fear God and give glory to him for the hour of God's judgment has come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Sin will keep all those who knowingly continue in it out of God's KINGDOM because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23; HEBREWS 10:26-27.

The gentile Christian has been delivered from the law right along with Jewish Christians per Rom 7:6.

God's people are free from the condemnation of God's law and sin now to continue in sin. All those who knowingly continue in known unrepentant sin do not know God and do not enter God's Kingdom because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23; HEBREWS 10:26-27; ROMANS 8:1-4; 13; ROMANS 3:31.

Just a repeat statement. So is your 7th day sabbath. Jer 31:31-33 and Luke 22:20 covers this proving your statement is error.

Sadly for you it only supoprts everything I have posted.

This isn't a reference to sin.
ACTS 17:30 Really? What are you required to repent from? Sorry brother God's Word disagrees with you.

No, this is a call from your church to leave any church not in your organization.Indeed He does.

Not at all God's church are all those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD. It is a call to come out from following man made teachings and traditions to follow JESUS through the WORD of God alone. God is a Spirit and those who worship him must worship him in Spirit and in truth. *JOHN 4:22; ROMANS 2:28-29; JOHN 4:23-24; REVELATION 14:6-12; REVELATION 18:1-5. Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it *ROMANS 3:4; ACTS 5:29. JESUS says those who KNOWINGLY follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9.

Hope this helps.

The NT refers to the law (famous 10) as the law of Moses.

No it does not. Please supply the scripture in the NEW TESTAMENT that says the law of Moses is the 10 Commandments.

Besides that the rest of the requirements found in the first 5 books of our OT are given by God through Moses.

The SHADOW laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7 were indeed written and spoken by MOSES alone under the direction from God. On the other hand God's eternal law (10 Commandments) was written and spoken by God alone on two tables of stone. God's 10 Commandments were the work of God alone and is why they are called God's LAW *EXODUS 32:16; EXODUS 20:1-17; NEHEMIAH 10:29

Nothing but a common ploy to try and show people keep the law.

What is a common ploy? It is God's WORD not mine that says God's 4th Commandment which is one of the 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is *EXODUS 20:8-11; ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4.

It is God's WORD that says we are not free to steal, commit adultery, murder, lie, use God's name in vain not me. God's WORD does not teach lawlessness anywhere in the NEW TESTAMENT. In fact it is God's WORD that teaches all those who pratice lawlessness do not KNOW God and will not enter into God's KINGDOM because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23; HEBREWS 10:26-27; 1 JOHN 2:3-4

Sorry brother God's WORD is not some ploy. It is God's WORD and we should believe and follow it.

Even many of the wicked don't do those things. They aren't saved and neither are they following the law (famous 10).Very clever. What was taught is the Christian isn't free to live a wicked lifestyle because of grace. And so they are. They are teaching points and not requirements to keep the or obligation to the law.

Sorry brother God's WORD disagrees with you and does not teach lawlessness. If we sin then we break God's 10 Commandments *1 JOHN 3:4. All those who CONTINUE to KNOWINGLY break any one of God's 10 Commandments will not enter the KINGDOM of HEAVEN because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23; HEBREWS 10:26-27.

Hope this helps.

Jesus kept the because He was obligated by birth and also because He had to be flawless in every respect to be our Redeemer-Savior.

You are using the same arguments of others "he was a Jew" (obligated by birth)
Jesus was God. And yes, he had to be and was flawless. He is our example in all things.

No I don't question the famous 10. There's no requirement of the Christian to keep the covenant given to Israel after departure from Egypt. We have a New Covenant unlike the one given to the fathers of Israel.

No we don't have a New Covenant ... we have a better covenant. God never breaks His covenant ... people do. OT Israel broke covenant with God. His covenant still stands.
The better of the original covenant is through Jesus and His sacrifice rather than the OT ceremonial/sacrificial system.

The 10 are eternal laws ... we can never keep them perfectly, but we are to strive towards that end not as works but because we love Him. Jesus helps us to overcome our sins (transgressions of the law) ... and that is a lifetime process. He paid our debts, He is our high priest and He will stand in our stead and God will see us as perfect through the blood of Jesus but that does not mean we can just ignore the big 10.

Love .... if you love me ... keep my commandments.

I really want to know. I would hope that any posters here will back up their argument with Scripture. Why do you worship on a particular day seems to be a good question?
It's not a major controversy in Christianity.

We can worship and gather together seven days a week if we want to.

You may be distracted by a controversy over a Jewish day of rest. Worship and rest mean different things.

Or people who want to follow Gods commandments.

With that said, the sabbath is given to us, we where not given to the sabbath. Just as Jesus said.

True - it is a benefit, a blessing -- for mankind

"The Sabbath was made for mankind" Mark 2:27

Do you care to explain why God waited some 4,000 years to make this known? Can you show how this verse makes the sabbath an obligation?

Who says He waited??

Is 66:23 "from Sabbath to Sabbath shall ALL MANKIND come before Me to worship"
Is 56:6-8 gentiles "specifically" singled out for Sabbath keeping (700 years B.C)
Gen 2:1-3 Sabbath given to all mankind in Eden - as even the Sunday groups freely admit when they argue that all mankind was given all TEN of the TEN Commandments in Eden.

Which I keep pointing out here -

The Baptist Confession of Faith,
the Westminster Confession of Faith ,
D.L. Moody,
R.C Sproul,
Matthew Henry,
Thomas Watson
Eastern Orthodox Catechism
The Catholic Catechism.

It's not a major controversy in Christianity.
.

Certainly it is true that all those listed agree that the Sabbath Commandment as well as all the other TEN Commandments are included in the moral law of God written on the heart under the New Covenant of Jer 31:31-33

No we don't have a New Covenant ... we have a better covenant.

Jer 31:31-33 God calls it the NEW Covenant and it includes the moral law of God that Jeremiah and his readers already knew about -- written on the heart and mind.

The Old Covenant in its purest form was given to sinless Adam , "Obey and live" and he eventually chose sin.

The New Covenant was introduced along with the New Birth so that sinful man could be saved.

Indeed the ECF are very valuable.

Especially if you are looking for the source for not keeping the Sabbath Commandment as it is stated in the Bible. But if you want Bible teaching...

Still what Paul says is "instructive" Acts 20
. 28 Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. 29 I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; 30 and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. 31 Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears.

Sorry sister God's WORD disagrees with you sadly. The SHADOW laws of MOSES were written in the book of the OLD COVENANT.
Joshua 8:32 And he wrote there upon the stones a copy of the law of Moses, which he wrote in the presence of the children of Israel.

It sure doesn't look like to she wrong. I think it's just proof you haven't read the Scripture.

You are confused as to what was the OLD COVENANT. If you do not know what the OLD COVENANT is how can you know what the NEW COVENANT is that the OLD COVENANT pointed to?
How many times do we need to cover this? Here again you make unsupported statements rather then show me what the Old Covenant is. I know both Old and New Covenants. They're very different covenants. No one can observe both at the same time.

Because only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it over the teachings and traditions of men that break the Commandments of God *ROMANS 3:4; ACTS 5:29. JESUS says those who knowingly follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9.
Yes and we know that really means anything you don't agree with.

The source and dating of historical records are important to take into consideration as this can lead to religious bias untruth. The only source of truth is God's WORD. Anything outside of God's WORD that contradicts the scriptures is not from God. You have no source that verifies 50 AD as an accurate date.
All Scripture is dated prior to 110 AD. There's no need of any exact dates this late in history.
The net says between 50 and 160 AD for the Didache. So what's your source for the 400 date?
If you want to look at reliable history from God's WORD, God's people have always kept God's 4th Commandment Sabbath unbroken from GENESIS to JESUS and the APOSTLES to after the death of JESUS all through time to this present day. That is the only reliable history that we can trust.

The covenant given to Israel isn't written on the heart of anyone, especially not gentiles.
