I'm a pagan, slightly left of center and I support neither radical Islam nor Fundamentalist Christianity. Actually I am against radical, fundamentalist anything. But that's just me.
You just opened a can of worms.
On face value, it seems sometimes like they do that but their argument would be that they are moreso against American intervention in these radical Islamist affairs than they are in support of them.
Liberals support a sense of cultural relativism, though, which allows them to be more tolerant of Muslims.
Honestly, I do not see much difference between extremist Christianity, and extermist Islam. I do not support either.
Anyone believing that God made the human body perfect; has not experienced a toothache
I had the root in one of my teeth die several years ago. After the root canal, I jokingly asked my dentist if he could do it to all of my teeth. lolTotal derail here, but tanzanos, I love this part of your signature:
Man, I have had a raging toothache since Friday. I'm finally getting in to see the dentist tomorrow afternoon. I was laying in bed shaking my fist in a violent, anguished rage the other night, wondering why we have nerves in our teeth. Not only that, but I'm convinced teeth have independent, sadistic brains. It's like they know it's a weekend and your dentist is closed, so they seize the opportunity to hurt. Or they know when you're about to go to sleep and that's when the pain kicks into high gear.
Adorable logic.DRD4Him,
Its fear. We know the answer, because Jesus Christ is the truth and an offense to the proud. People are scared of Islam so they tend to want to appease rather than lose things like possessions and confortable lifestyles.
I don't fear Islam, and from what I've observed, neither do many others here who fall under the OP umbrella. Indeed, the only fear of Islam that I've observed has come from a number of folks like DRD4Him and yourself, keen on painting Islam and Muslims with as broad a brush as can be found. I find it disgusting, to be quite honest, and it certainly does nothing to compel me back to a more traditional Christianity.DRD4Him,

Good for you.I don't fear Islam,
Sadly the evidence indicates you don’t understand Islam. As we spend so much time arguing about Christianity I am not sure we both understand that the same either.Indeed, the only fear of Islam that I've observed has come from a number of folks like DRD4Him and yourself, keen on painting Islam and Muslims with as broad a brush as can be found.
Not sure why you address me when responding to quotes that aren´t mine.Quatona,
Good for you.
Sadly the evidence indicates you dont understand Islam. As we spend so much time arguing about Christianity I am not sure we both understand that the same either.
I understand that the Islam you perceive is not the be all and end all of the religion. I've been acquainted with enough Muslims, in America and elsewhere, to know this to be true. I realize that for someone who may not have had such interactions it may be difficult to see, but if you go looking for the bad in everyone, it's no wonder.Sadly the evidence indicates you dont understand Islam.
I think you're right. The Jesus that I recognize appears to be much different from yours. As we spend so much time arguing about Christianity I am not sure we both understand that the same either.
I am sorry but you are just generalising again., I would say the Islam you perceive is not representative, from the arguments I am givingI understand that the Islam you perceive is not the be all and end all of the religion.
You see the thing is I have been acquainted with enough Muslims in the UK and in some Middle Eastern Islamic countries to know why you are saying is actually part of a deception. Not sure why you think Muslims in the west don’t want Sharia law when all Islamic countries have it in some form and Islam itself requires it.I've been acquainted with enough Muslims, in America and elsewhere, to know this to be true.
But I am not, it is Islam that I have an issue with, Islam isnt a person.but if you go looking for the bad in everyone, it's no wonder.
or the one whose testimony is in the Bible. But in fairness that’s the division we are seeing between the two factions here, liberal and conservative call them what we will.I think you're right. The Jesus that I recognize appears to be much different from yours.
The arguments you're presenting relate largely to some of the more conservative and extremist factions of Islam. I don't doubt your experiences with some of those Muslims in the UK and in the Middle East, but you're making it seem as though that's all there is - that there are no moderate or liberal Muslims, or even conservative ones that simply wish to live in peace.I would say the Islam you perceive is not representative, from the arguments I am giving
I'd be interested to know what you believe Jesus' testimony is, and why you think mine is quite different.or the one whose testimony is in the Bible. But in fairness thats the division we are seeing between the two factions here, liberal and conservative call them what we will.
And where is your evidence that everyone in this wide group of people supports oppressive Muslim regemes and oppresses Christians?
