Why do Leftists/Liberals support Muslims and not Christians?

Eudaimonist,

No, the rebellious people are theists -- Christians in denial -- since one can only rebel against what one believes.

The atheists are the people who aren't rebellious. They simply don't believe.
Point taken. I would suggest Christians can and some are in denial, I’ve said it all along, where we don’t accept what we say we believe in. But from where I am standing, if there is a God then the very act of not believing is rebellion... though not for you where you are standing.
The point was made to show, let the posters speak of what they believe rather than others telling them they dont believe what they believe.

What I think is important is to note, believers can not expect atheists to believe with what is written to believers. :)

What you say is in direct disregard to what Jesus taught:

“For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:18-19 RSV) He clearly demands that we follow the OT.

"It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." (Luke 16:17 NAB)
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfil. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB)
"All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness..." (2 Timothy 3:16 NAB)
"Know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation, for no prophecy ever came through human will; but rather human beings moved by the holy Spirit spoke under the influence of God." (2 Peter 20-21 NAB)

Do you understand what is written above? If you want we can refer to the original Greek text! Jesus was a Jew and preached in synagogues. Christianity did not exist as a religion in his time. Where does he say that the OT only applies to the Jews?
If you do not understand what is written then may I suggest you seek a lawyer to explain the meaning of the above excerpts?

You forget that I was born a Christian and still consider myself a Christian in the sense that I believe most of what Jesus said to be of moral sounding.

Now keep in mind what it says in Peter 20-21: there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation

I am not attacking Christianity but rather showing how one may use religion to foment hate, bigotry, and all manner of evil. I am not supporting Islam for the same reason.

One cannot preach what one does not adhere to.

Believe what you may. If there is a heaven then I can assure you most residence there will be from all religions including those that do not believe. It is a matter of principle that it matters not what one believe but how one conducts himself.

Have a nice and safe day:wave:

Perfect post to show why atheists do indeed belive in God, but take the positions they do as a large net kind of insurance policy.

As long as a person acts like a Christian, then the world will definately have a lot more nice and safe days. Per Paul.

No it isn’t. The law does not pass away, but Jesus is the fulfilment of it.

You are using certain passages against others, without using them all to understand them all.

Luke 24:44 “He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms."
John 1:17 “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. “
Galatians 5:18 “But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.”

Luke 24:44 Jesus reminds us of what he taught us while he was alive.
He is still alive, He rose from the dead and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

I am afraid you have no idea what you are talking about, tell me about atheism sure, I will be interested, but listen and find out what Christianity is about.
